Mexi in Williamsburg is such a delightful spot and easily one of my new neighborhood favorites. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of good energy. The staff is incredibly friendly — genuinely kind, attentive, and upbeat in a way that makes you feel taken care of without any pressure. It’s the kind of hospitality that immediately sets the tone for a great meal. One of the things I love most is how dog-friendly they are. I brought my pup and the staff couldn’t have been sweeter — they came over to say hello, offered water, and made us both feel totally at home. It’s rare to find a place that treats dogs as happily as they treat guests, and it definitely made the experience even better. The food was amazing. I ordered the quesadilla and it was perfectly done — cheesy, flavorful, and made with noticeably fresh ingredients. Everything tasted vibrant and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell they put real care into even the simplest dishes. The vibe is fun, laid-back, and inviting. The inside looks great — clean, stylish, and filled with warm touches that make it a place you want to linger. If you’re in Williamsburg and want friendly service, great food, and a dog-friendly environment, Mexi is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommend!

I came here with my mom and my sister after the spa, it was a nice place to finish the night. We got chips and salsa, aguachile, and I opted for a steak burrito. The food was excellent, however the portions are small, so if you are looking for a main course, get something larger. My sister ordered an appetizer and was still hungry later.

Beautiful restaurant & atmosphere. Great customer service. The drinks were absolutely delicious. Food presentation was exquisite. Unfortunately, my birria tasted like fish and ruined the experience. Not sure why nor the waiter . But he was very kind to offer to remove the meal, which I did not allow. The dessert was so so so yummy! I feel should be presented better but delicious none the less.

This is the best Mezcal bar I’ve ever been to. The bartenders, especially Eddie, are the best and SO knowledgeable. The cocktails are absolutely insanely delicious - you should trust the bartender. Eddie educated us on various types of liquor and I feel like I came out more knowledgeable than when I entered. Cannot recommend this place enough. The food and the drinks are both PHENOMENAL. Trust it all.

Mexi is great for a tequila or mezcal drink before you head out for the night! The bartender, Eddie, is amazing, always welcoming, and is one of the main reason we always come back to this place! So glad we found this place a few years ago!

great Mexican Restaurant —ambiance is beautiful, food delicious , service excellent. Margaritas 5+ had the quesadilla and tacos, which were great. The Mexican food here is excellent Highly recommend. Much better than other Mexican restaurants, but seems to be less frequent for no good reason.

Native New Yorker with Mexican roots , and honestly this my new favorite Mexican restaurant by far the best ! Love the atmosphere and hospitality they really are on top! Angel is outstanding . We found this gem walking by one day . We try it and loved so we returned for my birthday for a quick late lunch and i tried the tacos , tuna tostadas, octopus drinks are probably my favorite here . And believe me i have try many … hope they get the recognition they deserve !! Will return !

While the prices were a bit on the higher side, the quality of the dishes made it worthwhile. One of the standout features was the variety of tequila available. The selection was impressive, offering something for every tequila enthusiast. The service was also commendable, with attentive and friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, Mexi Restaurant is a great spot for a special night out, especially if you appreciate good food and a fantastic tequila selection.

Tried this newer (opened for about a year now) Mexican restaurant in Williamsburg last Saturday evening for dinner. We were able to get bar seats without a reservation (they had a few large groups that evening). The place is such a vibe. Really cool décor and a really impressive bar, particularly the mezcal selection. I had the espressito cocktail (basically espresso martini with mezcal)- I'm not usually a fan of mezcal/smoky cocktails but this was very well balanced and delicious. We shared the guac to start which was pretty good. For dinner, I had the pork shoulder al pastor skewers. The meat itself was tender, but surprisingly bland. It also seemed like they tried too hard to make the entrée visually appealing and missed the mark portion-wise. There was a generous portion of meat, but too few accompaniments such as the tortillas, salsa, etc. Also, I think the pineapple was more just for show which was a bummer lol. Service was friendly and warm but they seemed pretty busy so it ended up being very, very slow. Wasn't an issue for us though because we were having a great time chatting and catching up. We were advised by the bartender that the menu is changing next week so I would give the food another shot, and would certainly come back for the drinks and atmosphere.

I am always excited to see new place to try in the neighborhood so when I saw Mexi was opening up I definitely put it on my list. The drinks were pretty good at the place and the service was very good. We didn't feel rushed to leave. We asked for recommendations from the waiter she was amazing ! I have to say she sure knows the food very well. We first ordered an appetizer ahi tuna tostaditas they were great!! The Quesadillas were amazing but the skewers we were disappointed at the taste. They are missing flavor. Wasn't crazy about them. The dessert was wow!! Very different tres leches we have ever had but we loved it!! I think this place has a-lot of potential! Give this place a try ! They are a little on the pricey side but worth it. Also they close early that's the down side. They have amazing music in the background but it would be even better if they would keep it open a little later at least with the bar section open. The bar they have is beautiful and stocked with amazing drink options. The ambience is amazing considering the fact that we don't really have a-lot of latin places in the neighborhood with latin music.

My friend and I were craving Mexican last night, and Mexi popped up on our search. Given its proximity to the L, we ended up deciding to try it out! We went at about 7pm on a Tuesday and it was pretty quiet with a few tables occupied outside. Inside was quite large, but not super busy. We ended up ordering the guac, a quesadilla and birria tacos. The guac had a little bit of a kick with chili crisp on top. Service was friendly and we didn't feel rushed - always important for a girls night! Didn't get to try the drinks last night, but they looked pretty good too.

So stoked to have this amazing New Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood now! Popped in for lunch with a friend and had an absolute blast! The food was insanely delicious - so fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell they put their heart and soul into every dish. Really great vibe! From the colorful tiles to the awesome artwork on the walls, it feels like a little slice of New Mexico right here. Plus, the full bar is a game-changer - their cocktails are just as tasty as the food! We can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. In fact, we're already planning our next visit... this weekend! Our server was also working the room. Friendly and attentive! Thank you!

My girls and I stopped in for food after attending Margarita Rumble. We sat at the bar. The restaurant was not crowded. It definitely has a cozy vibe. Which I like. I got their version of the espresso martini and it was goooood! We shared the plates of food. We got short rib birria tacos, chicken nachos quesadilla and guacamole. The guacamole and quesadilla were a HIT. Service was good. Our bartender was Andres and he was lovely. Definitely a great spot to check out if your in the neighborhood.

Service was friendly although slow in the beginning, atmosphere is cozy but restaurant was not packed on a Saturday night. The food is what is really holding this restaurant back, it was just not that tasty. The guacamole has tomatoes on top which I haven't seen before but the actual guacamole itself was not tasty, there was no chunkiness to the avocados which made me wonder where the guacamole came from. The Birria Tacos are $26 and no where near as good as Birria Landia, the consome paired with it was barely flavorful. The drinks here are very good! But the food needs a lot of improvement, especially for the price. For a total of 3 people, we got 2 apps and 3 mains, 1 drink each and 1 dessert total and it was $85 a person, while normal for NYC, what wasn't normal was the quality of the food, which makes me feel like the $85 per person (after tip) was not worth it.

Mexican restaurant with Italian influences and one of the best mezcal selections that I've come across in the world. Peculiar atmosphere. The crowd at the bar are the typical folks I'd expect to see in Williamsburg. The the tables across the bar were filled with families with children. I had a flight of mezcals. A fellow named Christian was in charge of the mezcals. Dude knew his mezcals. One of the most knowledgeable individuals I've spoken to regarding mezcal. He put together a fantastic flight for me. It was pricey but one of the best mezcal tastings that I've had. Food wise, we stated with the avocado mousse with bruschetta creme brûlée salsa and the tuna Serrano aguachile. The salsa was a particularly interesting dish. More in line with a tuna tartare. For the main courses, we shared the pipian chicken mole verde and the masa gnocchi. I preferred the masa gnocchi of the two. It came in a smokier and richer sauce. Closer to a transitional mole but it didn't pack the richness and viscosity that I typically expect from a hallmark mole. For dessert, we shared a chocolate and flan mixed cake. I'd highly recommend Mexi for their mezcal selection.

Highly recommended I stopped by on a Friday night and the place was very busy but just on point. I sat in the bar area and I got to meet "Kevin Alvarez" he was that bartender that night and this guy was incredible, very friendly, professional, and well-known. He recommended the cocktail "El Soldador" and I have to tell you. That cocktail was Lit . I also ate something because u know after a couple of cocktails you get hungry lol I remember getting a salad with some shrimp and it was just delicious. The music was great, the place is well decorated and the staff is there to make sure you have a great experience So if you want to have a great night in a good Mexican place Mexi is the place you should be visiting.

This will be a hot spot once the word gets out. It's in a prime spot in Williamsburg but not extremely noticeable from the outside. Prices are very reasonable. Service is on point and the selection of tequilas and mezcals is unrivaled. Cute decor and ambiance - great for group dining or date night. They also have a large bar with bar seats. The albóndigas and birria tacos were excellent. Carne asada and guacamole mousse was OK. The cocktails were great and the bartender was awesome. We did a guided mezcal tasing and had a blast. Will definitely be back and encourage others to go before you can't get in.

Love the look in this place looks very homey and authentic. The bartenders are all very knowledgeable and know what to recommend. As far as the menu not big at all but great. The drinks we tried 4 and all were amazing in flavor presentation and mix. We love mezcal so a place that makes great cocktails is really nice it's hard to find. My favorite was el chon chon picante so this is a thicker drink but so good it's not super spicy which makes it better and the mezcal is perfect. Also ordered el soldador this is a great drink more on the fruity and sweet side like a tropical drink smooth to drink. The espressito was great I have tried so many expresso martinis and they have been horrible but this one is balanced and tastes like actual coffee. Juan en Roma was an interested drink it's sweet and different to any other drink I have tried!

I went here after work on a Friday night for the first time. Loved the aesthetic and the customer service was great!! A must is the trio salsa. The spicy one was absolutely delicious, it was made just right and actually not that spicy. The birrira tacos were just ok. The drinks were pretty good as well, but they didn't have any happy hour which to me was a miss. Nonetheless it was cool.

Was there for barely an hour and had such a great experience with the staff. Despite the kitchen closing soon, our server made us feel so comfortable with food and drink without feeling rushed. Best part was the security guard who remembered me from walking by 20 minutes earlier and made us feel special with the simple acknowledgment, a recommendation for their sister bar afterwards, and a quick funny joke. A nice reminder that good service doesn't always require much.

I was really looking forward to eating the gnocchi dish and chips and guacamole and even though it tasted good, my girlfriend and I both got very bad food poisoning. We both had the same dish.

Coming from someone who's married to a Mexixo City native, and has lived there herself I have to say this place felt like I was sitting in a restaurant in Coyoacan. From the ambiance, to the drinks to the food... everything is authentic and on POINT. Things you must try: The Guac Birria Tacos Carne Asada The Oaxaca hot chocolate

Mexi was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance was elegant and inviting, creating the perfect atmosphere for a memorable evening. The service was top-notch, I'm sorry I don't remember the bartenders name because he was the most knowledgeable person about tequila, sotol, and mezcal I've ever spoken with. Also a big thank you to the rest of the staff that made us feel like valued guests. Now, onto the most important part - the food. Every dish we ordered was a delightful explosion of flavors and creativity. From the perfectly crafted guacamole tomato brûlée to the tender, flavorful tuna tostadas, each bite was a masterpiece. The chef's attention to detail and commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients was evident in every dish. The four of us ran the gauntlet of drinks on the menu and couldn't choose which one was the best but the concord stood out the most with a red wine topper. Can't wait for round two.

Best selection of unique tequilas and mezcals. Mixologists excellent in their craft. Great knowledge on tequilas, mezcal and world of alcoholic beverages. Food unique compared to hundreds of Mexican restaurants across nyc. Decor transports you to Mexico as if you were truly there. Truly recommend you visit and judge for yourself.
