Mexico Whale Shark Cancun

Greatest whale shark tour and experience I've ever had in my life! Nestor was amazing as well as Toto, who took videos of us while we were in the water trying to keep up with the whale sharks. Simply breathtaking and very moving experience to actually swim with so many whale sharks. Over two days I swam with eight different whale sharks. So amazing! Highly recommend. An incredible experience made even better by the team who work so hard to ensure you have a fantastic day. The team at the port were great at making sure everyone understood the rules to be sure we are respecting the whale sharks space and the captain Esteban and guide Toto lead the day on the boat spectacularly. We saw turtles and a manta ray en route to finding the whale sharks which was amazing. And then the swim itself was magical, such gentle creatures. This would’ve been enough for us but we then also went snorkelling at the reef and saw some lovely fish and corals and then had very yummy ceviche on the boat. This is my second time doing this tour, and both were amazing, the first with my Mum and cousins and now I got to show my partner the same magical experience. Toto and Esteban were absolutely incredible hosts and guides on their beautiful boat. We had the most magical day out on the water with them! We were able to get so close to whale sharks and (bonus!) massive manta-rays and they took us to the most pristine snorkeling area that many of us have ever seen. The water was immaculate and we were the only people there for miles! They educated us on the safety around the national parks and protected reefs which was super important to our group as people who really respect ocean life and are avid snorkelers and divers. They chopped up an amazing ceviche which could not have been more fresh, after catching the fish that morning. They were so unbelievably kind, hospitable, Welcoming, and adaptable to what our group was most excited to do and see. Huge plus that their boat was the most luxurious and comfortable tour boat that we saw! They even cooked us up a meal with their family after our Boat Tour. You cannot get better than this authentic experience with these wonderful people. We already can’t wait to come back to Isla Mujeres and spend more days out on the boat with Toto and Esteban!

Still floating from the most surreal experience of my life—swimming alongside whale sharks. It truly felt like drifting through a dream. I’ve never felt so small and so full of wonder at the same time. My heart is still smiling 🩵🐋🦈🥹✨🌊 The crew made the entire experience even more unforgettable. They were incredibly attentive from the moment we boarded—working tirelessly to spot the whale sharks and position us perfectly to swim right in front of them. Their knowledge, patience, and genuine excitement made us feel completely taken care of. They ensured we had plenty of water, drinks, and anything else we needed throughout the day. If you’re thinking about doing this—do it. And go with this team. They made magic happen.

EXCELLENT TRIP!! Small group of 10 adults. Pickup from our hotel was right on time. Julio met us at the dock with a very friendly overview of the rules. Mizelle and Miquel did their very best to make sure our time in the water with the whale sharks was a memorable experience. Personally, it exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this boat and the crew and will definitely do it again! Bring your own towel for added sun protection on your legs.

Such an amazing family owned business! They picked us up exactly on time from our hotel and it was a quick drive to their dock in Isla Mujeres. We were one of the first people to the whale shark location and they were incredible at spotting them and getting us in the water with them. The lunch was also delicious! We had ceviche, guacamole, and chips. The boat is also very comfortable with great cushioned seats. Would definitely recommend!

Mexico Whale Shark again provided an outstanding whale shark encounter experience. This was the second time I booked with them because Julio and his team gave such great attention to my children on our first encounter quite a few years ago. Again on this experience Jose and his team did a first class job making sure our needs were attended to before we boarded the boat and before we dived into the water with the whale sharks. Their boat staff really did a fantastic job steering the boat as close as possible to the whale sharks, amongst the numerous other boat operators there, to ensure we got the closest and best encounter possible with the whale sharks. The boat guide Toto also took some really good videos of me swimming with these giant creatures. I thoroughly recommend Julio and his team for delivering the whale shark encounter experience. If I do this again I will definitely book with Mexico Whale Shark. Thank you Julio and team!

We had a great time on this tour. We had to search a bit for the whale sharks, but that is Mother Nature not the company's fault. The water was a little murkier but the captain and guide made sure that everyone had the chance to see the whale sharks; if someone didn't get a good look they were allowed to go again. The team made sure everyone was happy. We thought we'd have to skip snorkeling at the reef because finding the whale sharks took so long, but they still made sure we had an opportunity to do that as well. Overall, everyone was very friendly and did their best to make sure we enjoyed our trip. We'd definitely do a tour with this company again!
