The Best Breweries In Philadelphia - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Meyers Brewing in Fishtown doesn't serve any of its own food—there’s always a Mexican food truck out front and a pizza truck on Saturdays—but you’d be more than happy to linger for the drinks and garage setup alone. Most days, you’ll find people at the bar ordering flights (there’s a great four for $10 deal) while watching a game, and families at the picnic tables out front soaking up the sun with a golden retriever in tow. We go for any IPAs on the menu (the Courageous Chloe is our favorite), but if ciders or Citywides are more your speed, they have those, too. Stop in for a beer, enjoy a comedy night upstairs, and grab two more beers." - candis mclean

Google
Old school style sports themed brewery, they look like and old bar with the exposed brick and woodwork. Their beer list is fairly extensive and loaded with ales and lagers. I could've spent my entire day just trying their different beers. I was keeping it classy in my brewery tour so keep it to two. I had a tee time and hole in one. The tee time was again darker and maltier than I'm used to from an ale or lager. Still good, but not what I was expecting. The hole in one was what I expected, in a hoppy but balanced hazy. Service was good, although I spent much of my time here reading or on the phone. There were only couples and adults when I was there, no kids.

This is a staple hangout spot for my friends and I finally got a chance to check it out and I was impressed. Great beer selection, whether you’re a light beer or IPA enthusiast there are plenty of good options to choose from. The only knock I have on it is they don’t serve food, but a very small issue since there are restaurants across the street you can order from.

This rather small, hole in the wall type brewery is not a spot to be missed. They have comedy shows upstairs with very limited seating, so I recommend buying tickets beforehand if you want to go. Everyone working there was incredibly kind and gave fantastic service. They have flights and I loved all of the beer I tried. Everything was easy to drink and they have many lighter ABV content drinks. They have a decent variety of beers, so there is something for everyone. I would definitely buy a 6 pack. Highly recommend and I look forward to coming back!

A group of 9 of us went to Meyers Brewing today. They have a very interesting selection beers, and the general concensus was that they were very good. I especially like the Scottish Ale and the Heben Weisen (I probably got that name wrong). It's a small but comfortable place with a nice upstairs area. The proprietor was very accommodating and event played different music for us upstairs.

Super chill brewery in the Fishtown area. Not the largest space inside, but there did seem to be an upstairs area as an option. Cool bartender, and the beers were great!

We visited Meyers Brewing with a group of senior citizen beer fans. We each picked four beers (or ciders) for our flights and sat upstairs, where it was very quiet and allowed for conversation. We enjoyed many different beers---lagers, IPA and hazy IPAs. sours, stouts, Hefeweizen and Scottish ale. CJ runs the place as a staff of one and does an amazing job. We would love to return for some of their events such as Quizzo and comedy evenings. This is also a favorite hangout for the neighborhood's dogs, who seem to be regulars (and they definitely recommend the beer at Meyers). The food truck that was outside on the day of our visit was Mexican, and the food was amazing. This is really a fun and hospitable place. Don't miss it.

Favorite bar in fishtown, hands down! Awesome selection of beers, ciders, and the mixed drinks are great as well. Atmosphere is super laid back and there is plenty of seating both inside and out. Upcoming food vendors and events are posted on their social channels so you can always keep track of what’s happening. Whether you’re a local or from out of town you have to check out Meyers Brewing!

Great brewery with unique selections on tap. I tried the watermelon cider and it was super good, mild and tart. Great environment with an upstairs game room.

Yelp
First and foremost ...CJ is such a great bartender! We had always wanted to stop in but parking stinks. Well, we lucked out yesterday and stumbled on a spot a block away. I had a mixed drink as they have a full bar. My hubby had a few beers, which he really liked. They honestly have something for every taste, whether you're doing a flight to taste a bunch or you have your favorite pint. It's clean, large, outside seating, and the garage door is open when it's nice. It is now officially one of our favorite spots in Fishtown! Worth a visit!

Yelp
Meyers is a smaller brewery in Fishtown, which is a little outside the Center City area (for people who aren't familiar with Philly geography.) So, in effect that contributed in part to it feeling more like a little bit more like a neighborhood watering hole to me. The layout is also more suggestive of a pub as opposed to an industrial brewery, and they also have entertainment upstairs at times, as well as some other drinks that aren't beer. The beers are fun and approachable. I tried two different flights, but there were only a couple individual beers that would stand out to craft beer enthusiasts. I did not feel the need to get any crowlers to go. The crowd seems very laid back and chill. They let me stay for a relatively long period of time, and I noticed others were both socializing and even getting work done on their laptop.

Yelp
A nice addition to Girard in Fishtown where you can never have too many neighborhood bars. I hope this spot is able to stick. Definitely worth swinging by for a beer if that's your thing. They have a great setup with a garage door front that opens to the sidewalk on nice weather days. My beer drinking friends enjoyed their beers. There really aren't many food options - you're at the whim of whatever food truck they may have or hot dogs. If you're not a beer drinker drinker, options are somewhat limited to well drinks and a few wine options. It seems like it would be a nice event space for a small party, but doesn't really have the same Saturday night vibe as some of the other more popular area bars like Lloyd's, Fishtown Tavern, Kosta's. But if you're looking for a less crowded less noisy spot, head here.

Yelp
This is my favorite bar in Fishtown. From the ownership to the staff everyone is great is second to none. Whether I'm popping in for a quick drink or hanging out with my family everyone is super laid back and enjoying just being out. The beers and wines are very well thought out and they keep multiple ciders on tap (my favorite) for a change of pace. Food options from outside vendors rotate and they have a lot of really good diverse options but the attraction to Meyers is the hang and they do it best.

Yelp
horrible website!! if you would like to check a place out on line before going, don't expect to do thar with Meyers!!! website offers two links that don't work then makes you sign up via a cell phone to see anything ( I would assume, because I'm not signing up for anything without knowing about it first!!) and can't even see a menu or exact location!!! if they can't run a simple website I guess they couldn't run a bar either!!

Yelp
What a great addition to the Fishtown neighborhood! Meyers is in a great space - there is a garage door at the front that they can open up during nice days, a giant bar with seating on the main floor with a seated bar along the other side wall, and a ton of extra seating upstairs. There were also a couple tables outside. The main bar has two big TVs you can see from any seat - Fishtown lacks bars where you can watch a game, and Meyers can certainly fill that void! The beer/cider selections are tasty and prices are completely reasonable. We tried the wit, sour, and pale ale. All three were great. When we were there, they had a pop-up lobster roll table which looked awesome. For other food, they had snacks like chips, Fishtown pickles, and soft pretzels. We will be back!

Yelp
This locally owned brewery has everything you want from rotating beers and food to a great spot to watch a game. The staffed is friendly and knowledgeable. It's like being in an episode of Cheers. I always feel at home. Go Birds!

Yelp
We come here for trivia almost every week. They have a great beer list that has new additions often, as well as wine and a few cocktails for those that aren't beer people. There's plenty of seating between the bar, upstairs, and outdoors, and when they open the garage doors, it's a great place to hang out all night. They often bring in food trucks as well so you can get your food fix! Bartenders are always fantastic and take great care of people. My favorite neighborhood bar!
