Happy hour is great! Staff were kind! It took a minute for our order to be taken, but once helped things went smoothly. Tacos are pretty decent, and scratch the taco Tuesday itch. House made chips & guac were very bomb! The bar made each margarita in separate tins which was nice, and ensured freshness.

GO! this place has an amazing vibe for a date or going out with friends. I went on a date and it was perfect and intimate. I went on a Tuesday evening and it was a pretty decent crowd with a great DJ. The bar area was kind of loud but sitting outside aloud for you to chat without yelling too m Cocktails - were delicious and the bartender was VERY knowledgeable about the cocktails. You can dress up and still fit in or be super casual and still fit in. It's a vibe for everyone.

No hostess. Long waits n nobody was there....food the worst I've ever eaten!! Nasty!!! Gross. Was given warm tap water. Tea tasted moldy. Was also not cold. Didn't even get til I was almost done eating. Couldn't eat much of it...broken n burned chips. Not much toppings for "nachos". Never again!

The young lady that was upstairs bartending was beyond the nicest person I've ever met. Great personality, very helpful, and makes great drinks.

I love this place! I came here on a Saturday night, and it was filled with people without feeling like it was too crowded. Their bartenders were very friendly and made really tasty cocktails. The indoor area was perfectly lit, and the music was bumpin' (shoutout to DJ Nativity!). They also have a rooftop area with a bunch of seating and tables, which I really enjoyed because it felt like I was at a friend's place. Definitely coming back!

Came at 7pm.. This place was fine. It’s a fine place to go and chill, maybe have some drinks. Some food. Then head to your real destination bar. It’s pretty small but their patio is very cute. Downstairs there’s another restaurant/bar. You can bring drinks up or down. HOWEVER. There is a distinct smell like the sewer lines are backed up. It smells like a duck pond downstairs. I couldn’t stand it. It kind of goes upstairs too. In my opinion they need more “SPARK” more liveliness. Drinks are not mainstream. There’s no “regular”drinks there. Just their own beer and mixed drinks. They’re good! Everything here is nice. It’s dope. It’s not … awesome or like “I’ll go here again!” It’s like… “well that was nice”.

Completely unexpected. Yes it’s small, the rooftop doesn’t have a fun view, but it gets the job done. Bright, fun, staff is super nice & the drinks are on point. Really love this spot.

This place was really fun and I enjoyed my time here. Very chill and mellow until party time then it gets super packed. The issue I had was that when I made my way through the crowd to the bar to get water for my friend that got a little too inebriated, the bar tender scolded me for grabbing a cup from the bar myself since the water station had run out and did not have them there as they should. He was extremely preoccupied with a full bar, too busy to help me, and I was not interested in making this girl wait for water when I can see a cup easily available for me to grab and use. I would think there would be more prioritization to ensure available water in a very busy crowded establishment where people are drinking, dancing, dancing, and sweating a lot. That way patrons don't have to grab something on their own that should have most definitely been restocked as needed in the first place.

Funtimes! However, can get stuffy and stinky when its too packed. Luckily, theres an outdoor patio for fresh air.

This is actually my second time visiting this place and it was an amazing experience with friends. It had to be a year or two since my last visit but both experiences were great. Part of a restaurant, the bar was upstairs as dining was downstairs. We did stop by during happy hours which menu was great. Service was great, it did get a little slow as one of the bartender was on break leaving everything for one. But she managed to accommodate everyone. Drinks were great, flavors and presentation were exceptional. Price was also great for happy hour. There's a few seating area inside the bar area but major is outside on the patio over looking the city. Great place for a weekend outing, catching up with friends or just a stop off for cocktails. Friendly staff, amazing bartenders and great drinks. Only thing, I don't think food is served upstairs.

The entire place is very ambient. The outside is spacious and relaxing. There is enough space for each party to enjoy without it being crowded. The waiters and bartender are very friendly and quick. They make sure you're actually getting what you ask for. Also, I really enjoyed the drinks and the music.

I had so much fun here! It's located at Padre upstairs and perfect to lounge and dance. It's a bar and very cute outside patio with nice ambiance! They don't serve food here since it's food downstairs at Padre! But they do have a bar! The service is really nice and they have good bartending services and they are very nice! The dj is really good and you can dance the night away. Good variety of music with good vibes! I recommend this place if you want to celebrate or hang out with your friends! It's. Very good time! Was pretty crowded on a Sunday!

I stopped by here after hearing about their Taco Tuesday special! They normally don't serve food, but they had a taco stand in the patio on Tuesdays! The tacos were tasty and much better with the hot salsa. This is a great place to meet friends for drinks. The patio is spacious and the bartenders make sure your drinks are flowing! I would definitely come back here for the delicious drinks!

We wanted to get to know what Long Beach had to offer, so we went ahead and tried Mezcalero in downtown! It's located near a couple other bars including the blind donkey, so perfect for a bar hop! It's located on the roof of a restaurant, so it may be hard to find, but once up the stairs, you'll find a pretty small space, but bustling with people. You'll see that there's patio space with heaters, and a couple of tables inside. I got the conversational feng shui, which was mulholland gin, la luna mezcal, lo-fi vermouth, avocado leaf, pear, white peppercorn. It was a super strong drink, but pretty enjoyable! The service was great, and the bartender gave us some great recommendations for the rest of the night

This was a really cute spot! We found metered parking within walking distance. Unfortunately the patio was closed for a private event until about 9:30 so we were limited to the bar area in the mean time. The bartenders were chill. It did start getting busy at around 9:30 pm. The music was lively. The drinks were interesting but tasty. Very nice presentation and overall ambiance.

Decent cool and vibey spot in Long Beach. Met up with a coworker to catch up here and we took the outside seating for some privacy. The server was patient with having to come and check on us when we were finally ready to order but they kept the drinks coming and it ended up being a great spot to hang out. We closed the place down but easily could have kept up the cucumber margaritas till late into the night. Still need to come back to try the food!

Drinks are amazing. They have absinthe and other great cocktails. Ambience is nice and perfect lighting. Bartenders are extremely nice and service was impeccable. There are actually two bars in this establishment. One upstairs and one downstairs. Will return! A gem in LB

This is my all time favorite place at the moment to drink and dance. I recommend you go to the upstairs bar and bring your friends too! Love the vibes and looks of this place, very well decorated and lots of places for cute pics! The music was so good, back to back with good songs! The bartenders here really know how to make drinks and they are extremely friendly and welcoming! They made great recommendations and nailed it when it came to alcohol ratio! I recommend the elote margarita, DELICIOUS. Bartender let me know that they have Karaoke on Monday's so that's one reason to not hate them lol And sometimes they are themed so people come dressed up!! Can't wait to bring more friends here and come again!

Came to Mezcalero lastnight to celebrate a birthday and ambience and drinks were definitely a great start to our night. This place is located above padre which is a restaurant that serves really good food. Parking is available on the street. Drinks ran about $11 and above. SUE YOU ARE THE BEST BARTENDER! Service was amazing, the cucumber specialty drink was soooooo delicious and refreshing. There is a patio with open sitting, I recommend it for a date night or even a night out with friends.

This bar is upstairs from the Padre. You can only order drinks and not food upstairs. There is a outside terrace that you sit at once you order drinks. It's all open seating so either make friends or get there early before it gets packed. I got there about 9 pm and it was moderately packed but walking out through the bar, it turned into a mini impromptu dance club. It was too packed for me. And at that point it was just hot air and sweat. I'd go back on off hours when it's not too crowded. I can't remember my drink name but it was a cucumber mixed drink. It was refreshing. If you're in LB and you want a place to go to, I'd check it out if parking isn't a issue for you. I had to park in a structure for $10 because I couldn't find street parking.

When I moved to Long Beach, this was the first place I explored, and I absolutely loved it! They had both indoor and outdoor seating, with a live DJ playing indoors. No matter what day of the week you visited, it was always a good time. The security staff, bartenders, and DJs were all very friendly. Unfortunately, I recently found out that this place has closed down. It was truly a fantastic environment, and I hope it opens up again soon.

This was such a fun spot for drinks and a good time in Long Beach. Once you're upstairs, there a bar and small dance floor. Up a couple more stairs and you're welcome to the patio, which had string lights for some nice ambiance. There people here on date or groups, so a little bit of everything. Plus, I bought 3 shots for $26, so pretty good prices too. When in Long Beach, definitely a must for drinks.

Experience: Have walked past here a number of times and the rooftop always looked so inviting and fun. My friends and I decided to meet for a drink on a Monday night and had a great time for a couple of hours. For a Monday evening it was pretty live. We went straight upstairs, karaoke was happening, seats were taken inside, so we opted for the outdoor seating area. There were many seats, a handful of heating lamps, long benches, and some comfy seating. Since we went while it was rainy and kind of cold, we sat by the heating lamps but were still cold. Then we moved to comfier seating and used the blankets they had for patrons. Menu for drinks was okay, I drank the pepino grande, which was very refreshing. It didn't match the weather haha but I would definitely order it again. Location & parking: This bar is located on Broadway in the East Village. Since I went on a Monday, I was able to find parking on Atlantic Ave steps away from Broadway and the bar. Although I did try to find parking on Broadway and went around the block once, I found this to be the perfect spot. On the weekend I can see it being a hassle and annoying trying to find parking, you're better off parking blocks away or finding another way to get there. Vibes: Relaxed, fun, cool environment. For a Monday evening it was pretty live. Everyone was dressed casual. Overall: I gave it a 4 because I just wanted a comfy space to sit with friends to sip and catchup. It was only possible because it was a Monday, but space was still limited. Would come again during the weekend to dance, music was great.

Would love to give this place a great rating. Their staff is amazing, drinks are fantastic. Upstairs and downstairs. Unfortunately, I overheard workers talking to a gentleman who looked upset . Curiously I asked them about it & they told me he had been waiting on getting paid . They also mentioned for over a year , they have been receiving bounced checks. Yet they still show up for work ? This is unfortunate & unacceptable. How this is allowed & able to happen in this time is mind boggling. Also heard they're opening a new location. Someone please explain.

Probably one of the best bars in Long Beach when it comes to quality of a cocktail, vibes, and music. It does get busy in here. The bar is narrow and the outdoor deck seating can feel up quickly so that's the only thing to be mindful of. But all and all this place is a great spot to grab drinks. One of the few rooftop bars In Long Beach as well

Bouncer/ Security are to aggressive. They need to chill and be a part of the experience.

This is not a safe space for women. I saw a woman get assaulted by one of the staff & nothing was done about it until the police were involved. Spoke with the bouncers & the staff there who claim it was not an employee. However, as soon as they heard the police were called they shut the doors immediately & by coincidence that "customer" was not there by the time the police came even though there is only 1 exit. I will not forget to mention the bouncers will rudely kick you out by 1:30 despite closing time being 2:00am per Google. Please do not support this business

This place has horrible service! If you want to get a drink served, Good luck! The bartenders suck at their job and it's not even a big place. The male bartender with long blonde hair will literally ignore you and serve you when he wants. It's incredibly obvious that he does not respect the next person waiting for a drink. I do not recommend this bar to anyone. Mood killer 100%

Was here last night, Friday. The vibe is there despite it being a small spot for dancing. A few things I want to point out: 1) That couch by the rug area should probably be taken out for the night time so the dance floor is expanded. 2) They need A/C cuz it gets HOT in there. 3) Thirdly, that DJ this Friday sucked. He never played a song completely. He started off well but then the rest of the night. He just never allowed the songs to play out and for us to get in a groove. He rarely looked up and didn't read the crowd to see what we were vibing to. I definitely think Daddy should change up that DJ. Overall though, cute spot and def awesome to have it in Long Beach.

Nice happy hour on a Sunday afternoon. This place is upstairs of Padre and shares an entrance. Just take the stairs up from behind the hostess stand. Also, take a careful look at the stair railing when you go up. You may see certain shapes. With just one bartender, you could end up waiting a bit to get your drink order. There are some seats indoors but the majority of the seats and tables are outdoors. Seat yourself. Drinks were alright. Didn't get buzzed when I'm a super lightweight now, so not sure what's up with that.

I generally prefer not to focus on negative experiences, but I feel it's necessary to address a recent incident at Mezcalero. From the start of our visit, my friend from another country was denied entry by the bouncer despite presenting her passport. Although she is of legal age, the bouncer refused her entry because her passport lacked a stamp. It seemed as though he believed he was working for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, but if he were, he would know that passport stamping has been discontinued and replaced with a more efficient procedure. Additionally, stamps are not required for verifying age. This situation felt discriminatory, especially since we've visited Mezcalero many times without issues with other bouncers. The refusal to accept her passport, a standard form of ID, was particularly disappointing, as I had previously enjoyed visiting for a night out.

Perfect bar for a group! Go upstairs, sit outside, and then just walk in when you need to get a drink. Picnic tables and trendy chairs for smaller groups. The drinks were DELICIOUS. They have a DAILY happy hour. Came on a Saturday and ordered a ton of pepino grandes for happy hour. Bartenders made them to perfection and they're really chill. Would def recommend

I'll miss this place a lot. Came here on my last day in Long Beach. They specialize in tequila and mescal. I love it here. Cool "rooftop" above a restaurant. I want to try every drink they have on their menu. Their was one with five spice that I was too scared to try haha 10/5 must go. Bring your friends. Bring your family. Bring your SO. I'll miss you Mezcalero!

I went on a Saturday night and it was extremely packed like theres no way you can walk by without touching everyone. The bartenders are cool and had very excellent service for the amount of people there was. However, the drinks just tasted so strong, I had 2 mezcal drinks and they were not my preferred taste. One had a super smoky taste and the other was supposed to taste like coconut but it didn't. There is also zeroo parking.

Wanted some drinks before leaving Long Beach on a Sunday night. Out of the three drinks I had the "little spoon" was my favorite. The bar tender was super friendly I think their name was Gelly? But they made a great recommendation and took the time to describe what "sotol por siempre" was. The vibe was chill. There was music but it wasnt over powering. There were some people dancing inside but mostly small groups outside chitchatting.

Honestly such a great vibe. It is perfect for Sunday funday. The rooftop is so cozy and the music was great. The bartenders have amazing customer service and really describe the drinks to you. I found the perfect drink which was the Peonies in Jade. It was super refreshing. I only had one drink but will definitely return for more and maybe try some food.

Thank you Amanda for helping me put together a very last minute surprise party. She helped me during her after hours to coordinate all details and this was a less than 24hr notice. Your team was great. Food was amazing. Will definitely love to party in the speakeasy again!

Cute lil place and bar area but drinks were weak and not good at all! Mixed drinks need more effort when it comes to flavor! Kalaveras has better drinks than this place.

I was visiting LB and scrolling through yelp for bars opened on a Monday. The rooftop patio and seating caught my eye so we decided to check it out. It's located on the top floor of a restaurant. The decor and vibe of this place was so cute! Their specialty drinks are unique (mostly tequila and gin) that tasted good and had great presentation. The customer service is 5 stars!!! I asked the bartender for something fruity and strong so she made me a strawberry marg with fresh strawberries (off menu). There are many couches and tables to sit at outside and heat lamps to keep warm. Def recommend this lowkey spot! They also said they're hosting karaoke nights on Mondays starting next week which sounds super fun.

Great place to have some drinks in the patio for the summer. The waiters are very attentive, courteous and pleasing. The food was good a little on the pricey side for what it is but the vibe there is what your paying for... I would return and recommend this place to any of my friends.

The drinks here are absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is relaxing. We enjoyed sitting outside on their rooftop patio, which had cute decor and plenty of seating. It's a great spot to meet up with friends or have a cozy date. On nights that are cold and busy, they even turn on the heat lamps. Their menu is well thought out and they have nice collection of special and limited edition mezcal and tequila. Of the cocktails on their menu we tried the following: Pepino Grande, which is incredibly light and refreshing Broadway Campfire, which had a great smoky flavor Oaxacan on the Garden, which hits the spot if you want something spicy

I have to say the food is good although not quite what mom would make, but what really ALWAYS brings me back is this is the best place I know to relax and catch up with friends. Multiple connected spaces, each with it's own vibe. And of course GREAT tequilas.

We were looking for a place to drink when Hurricane Hilary's destruction was to ravage through all of Southern California. It did rain heavily in Long Beach and some flooding of streets; however, we we determined to enjoy our Sunday! So glad we went to Mezcalero! Great Happy Hour and a creative list of cocktails too!! Our bartender had his game on! What a respite from the rain!

Drinks are good and the building is beautiful. Nothing really stood out to me about it though.

Came to check out this rooftop spot after a wedding and had a blast! The drinks were on point and the vibe was great outside. One thing to note is that a lot of the seats are small stools, so keep that in mind if you're tall (like me), or your outfit isn't so great for squatting. We got a few different mezcal drinks, but the mezcal Paloma was a fave. It was a little tight up at the bar, but the bartenders were quick and attentive. Overall, would definitely come back, but would keep it to a small group since seating is limited.

First time coming to Mezcalero after my graduation and let me tell you IT WONT BE MY LAST! Their entire team was so accommodating, fast, and most of all friendly. Big Lou (the manager) helped seat my big party last minute, which I'm so grateful for and Tyler was our amazing server so got everyone's order and checks correct. He was very helpful with guiding us through the menu and extremely patient. Thank you Tyler for being the best server. Aside from the amazing service, the food and drinks were soooo good! Everything tasted quality and fresh and the food that was meant to be spicy actually was. We loved it. I got the asada burrito and they brought me some spicy salsa and it was so delicious. The Agua Chiles were the best too!! The bar upstairs was so beautiful and their bartenders were so friendly. I am definitely coming back specifically for the ambiance. It was such a vibe! If you're in the area this place is a must, especially during happy hour from (I believe) 5-7pm; Their drink prices are unbeatable and so delicious!
