Excellent restaurant with authentic Greek cuisine. The food is incredibly delicious, and the portions are huge! We couldn’t finish everything, so we took the leftovers home. The atmosphere is cozy and really captures the feel of a charming Greek taverna.🇬🇷

I went there on a Friday night around 6 PM. The place was quite busy by then, but thankfully, they managed to find us a better table away from the bathroom. The food was good, and the portions for the appetizers were quite large.

Food: ordered lamb gyro platter. Excellent. Perf portion size. Fresh. Tasty. Comes with delicious and crispy Greek fries and salad. 10 out of 10 on the food. No other cuisine compares with Greek. Put it this way: I wanted to take a pic of the food but I was famished and it looked so good I didn’t have the chance. Service: typical waiting time in other Greek restaurants is long like 15-20 min. Not here. Within 10 minutes everything was brought out properly. Very satisfied. 10 out of 10 in this dept as well! Atmosphere: 👌🏻beautifully and artful Greek style decor and although they could’ve played Greek music the throwback pop songs were totally fine. It’s a bit on the pricey side but it’s worthwhile. If I had the funding I’d eat here several times/ month.

What a great authentic feel of a Greek restaurant. The food was amazing! Quick service. One minor issue was the enthusiasm of the waitress, she was a bit dull and didnt seem to wanna be there. Also, she miscalculated some table plates. Nothing major but would love a more outgoing and caring waitress next time. 4 stars!

Visited Meze for the first time with my husband on a Saturday evening around 5:30pm. It wasn't very packed yet, only about 2 other tables at that time. We started out with some appetizers. We ordered the Garlic Dip and the Blue Claw Crab Cakes. The crab cakes were tasty with the side of sauces. For entrees, we ordered the Lamb gyro platter which came with fries, salad, pita and the tzatziki and a chicken gyro sandwich. The platter is a LOT of food so it was well worth the $22! We enjoyed all of the food and cannot wait to come back and try other menu items!

Our dinner at the restaurant was a total letdown, and I gotta say, it was a real bummer. We were stoked about the meal, but it turned out to be a big disappointment. To begin with, the food quality left much to be desired. I ordered the sole stuffed with lump crab, and our waiter assured us that it was made with real crab meat. But when it landed on my plate, it was more like a crabby breadcrumb stuffing mixed with something sweet. It was seriously inedible. The fish itself was no better – swimming in a pool of what I assumed was melted butter, it was way too sweet and salty for my taste. Our disappointment didn't end there. One of our party members had ordered the special fish of the day, porgy, but before we could receive our entrees, the waiter informed us that they had run out of porgy. Instead, he suggested branzino. We declined the offer, opting to share the sole instead. But the waiter did a 180 and told us they miraculously had porgy. He even went to the fridge and pulled out some fish to prove it. It was puzzling and left us feeling misled. Furthermore, our dining experience was exacerbated by the consistent response from our waiter, who seemed to have a single refrain: "It's delicious." Regardless of the questions we posed about the menu or our concerns about the food, his stock answer remained the same. To sum it up, our dinner was a disappointment, and we left with a bad taste in our mouths, both literally and figuratively. We hope they step up their game because, at the moment, we wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Perfect spot in Dyker Heights. A bit on the pricey side, but totally worth it. The ambiance and staff are welcoming. The food is fresh and delicious. The halloumi cheese and eggplant dip are perfect starters. The platters can feed two people or one super hungry person. I’ve been here several times and am always impressed but the quality and flavor of the dishes. Highly recommend it!

Meze is a relic of the Greek restaurants that I have come to expect. A loud, friendly atmosphere, exceptional food, exorbitant portion sizes (and prices, but that is to be expected), and an overall positive well being threatening to destroy the balance between man and mind. The restaurant is about a ten minute walk from the 62nd Street/New Utrecht Ave subway station on the D and N lines, which is good because you will have to walk this off when you are finished. I ordered plenty of food here, and do not regret any of it. I am hoping to return again and get more, because it is all remarkable. My server, Emilio, is a true spark plug. He is full of energy and charisma. As I was winding down with my food, he was still at top speed and form. He was ready for me and anticipated my every move. Wanna know what I ordered? Grape leaves: Ten to an order, way too many to a fault, but I am not complaining. They were fresh, delicious, delicate, and well balanced. I also played these well with the free bread that comes with your table. A must for any large party. Greek sausage: When every table is ordering these, I have to as well. The sausage has great flavor, a perfect size for an appetizer. The dipping sauce is first rate, and I powered through these like a champ. A great complement to the grape leaves. The grape leaves even set these up pretty well. Grilled Octopus: My oh my, the octopus is outstanding. It is HUGE! I cut this up to make it more manageable and I still could not finish it. This is no laughing matter. I thought I would inhale this thing but instead this came back on the attack. Overall the octopus and I came to an agreement to leave some of it alone. Veal Youvetsi: It started out rough, but gained traction as the dish cooked. It was as if the dish was still cooking in its own sauce as I was eating it. The dish is served with crumbled cheese, but it needs a different kind of cheese. The orzo is a little overcooked but is still pretty tasty. The veal is a bit dry, but overall has a nice earthy texture and taste to the dish that feels heavy. This would be great in winter. The dish reminds me of an Ossobuco, with no marrow. I savored it all with a glass of Pinot Noir, which goes well with all the savory dishes due its subtle sweetness. When I was finished, I said to Emilio, "I think I did I good job considering the circumstances." "You did great," he responded. But I am not done. I figured to end on a high note and order a dessert. I got the loukoumádes, or honey balls, in Greek. Six to an order, they are super sweet, and super delicious. I only ate three because I would be in Maimonides Hospital if I ate them all. Perhaps it could have used a bit of pistachio topping to offset the sweetness a little, but I got an apple juice in hopes of mitigating things and it did just that. After that, I was finished. Sure, the bill is high, but I had to give this restaurant a fair shake; they gave me more than it's just due in return. I was treated not just as a customer, I was treated as family. That is what Greek restaurants are all about and what they should represent.

Came in here with a friend on a weekday. We got the Baked Clams, Steak, and the tzatziki with flatbread. My favorite were the baked clams! 4.5/5; it was easy to eat, very fresh, and delicious! Steak-3.5/5- it was a bit salty for our liking. Maybe I'll try another one next time! Tzatziki & flatbread-5/5! -This had to be my favorite dish because it was fresh and delish! Def cooked me down from the scorching heat outside! Overall, everyone was really nice! Lots of seating and would come back here to try their other foods! !

This restaurant is neighborhood friendly,the service was great! The dishes were exceptional, fresh and delicious. Best of home cooking! This is the place.

Meze has been in my rotation for about 10 years and one of the gold standards for Greek cuisine. Go to has consistently been the lamb gyro plate (enough for 2) grilled octopus (consistently succulent and one of my all time favorites) and grilled chicken strips (surprisingly very taste given less fan fare and is complemented by a delicious Greek dressing). The restaurant itself is also very pleasant and decor provides a comforting Greek atmosphere. Quick service negates the frustrating parking situation but overall Meze continues to deliver 10 years after first visit and dozens of trips thereafter.

The place was full of patrons on a Saturday evening around 6ish, though the was a wait, it was def worth it! The food was great and came in a timely fashion. The dips were a little on the salty side but the pita bread add up for it. Grilled octopus was cooked to perfection. We ordered too many apps and couldn't decide on main dish; will return to try the main dishes soon!

This place is perfect. Ambiance is wonderful, service is exceptional. Have been coming here for years but haven't in the past year or so. I forgot how good it is. My go to are is the octopus and side dishes. Everything is homemade and fresh. You can taste it. They don't skimp on portions. We ordered to go but I love dining in. Reminds me of being in Greece.

My first time dining at Meze, and it was nothing special. The dining room was the typical clichéd Greek Taverna. I ordered Grilled Calamari and it was rubbery, but tasty. It was covered in an oil slick, I might add. I will give them another try.

The Food, service, and ambiance all were amazing. Everything was served absolutely perfect!

I ordered the pork souvlaki. It was delicious. Nothing short of excellent. Loaded with fresh lettuce and onions and absolutely filled with tender cubes of pork. I'd go back again and soon.

Loved the food at Meze recently. We're used to traveling all the way to Astoria for some Greek food but this spot is very comparable. The seafood is fresh and the chicken/lamb souvlaki is incredibly tasty. Highly recommend the grilled octopus. The portion sizes are very generous which is great for sharing. We did have a reservation as it can take a while to get seated but service was quick despite the place being packed.

Been going here for years, the food is always amazing, the staff is very attentive. It gets busy at times,and you probably have to wait, but it is definitely worth it. Try it , you will not be disappointed.

Street parking available. Food was delicious from appetizers to dessert. My favorite were the octopus, lamb chops, and cheese flambé.

The food is phenomenal! I love the Chilean sea bass for an entree. They have a really good salad with just scallions dill lemon juice and feta! It is very refreshing! The spicy feta is amazing as well! The staff is top tier

Got there lemon soup and chicken platter. The Lemon soup was really tart if you like lemon than you would like it which I did. The chicken kebab platter was good they give you 2 chicken kebabs (not spicy but seasoned well) you wrap it in pita with some lettuce, feta cheese, tomato , the yogurt sauce they give you it was delicious. The fries on the other hand was soggy though. Overall nice Greek place.

Had an early dinner here & the food & service were amazing! We started with the feta dip mashed with tomatoes, red onion & parsley& ladled it onto the warm pita triangles that came with it-totally delicious! I had the sausage plate & my wife, the lamb chops with spinach, both soooo good. We shared a wonderful rice pudding dessert, with honey & nuts, & a cappuccino. Great ending to a perfect dinner. Total with two alcoholic drinks was a hundred bucks, including the tax.

Had amazing time at Meze. Such a cute spot with great food and attentive service. Food portion was huge! Would definitely return if I am ever in the area.

Very good and authentic Greek cuisine. This is not a place to get a quick gyro and be on your way... however their gyro meat is the best I've tried in Brooklyn, so I do get a gyro platter every time I go. The grilled octopus is perfectly cooked and seasoned. They are very generous with their tzatziki sauce when it comes with your meal. The restaurant itself is cute and the ambience on the weekend is lively, but very quiet during the week. The staff is very helpful with their wine pairings and food recommendations. I like to come here on date nights or when I want to bring my family out to a nice dinner.

Came to Meze for the 1st time. Place was packed, however, there is no other restaurants around that area, you have to walk block or 2. Looks fancy. Ordered just appetizers and one of them was Crab cake. Let me tell you we tasted only salt. DONT ORDER IT, unless you like eating salt. It wasn't good at all I give 1 star for presentation. Caviar spread was really salty as well but I guess it supposed to be salty. Service was really good. I gave 3 stars just for service, food no. I won't go there again.

My favorite Greek restaurant in town. They always have the freshest food. The best grilled octopus!

A nice cozy neighborhood restaurant. I have been there a couple of times and every time I go, they don't disappoint me. We were starving after a yoga class near by. The foods were served promptly and perfectly cooked. Steak were nicely done. Only thing was Mediterranean style branzino fish was a little bland. Other than that, worth to check out this hidden gem.

I like the food and the servings,,,also cozy place to dine with family or friends. I like it I'm sure you'll enjoy it too.

The ambiance was nice and relaxed. The appetizers were tasty, especially the zucchini chips with tzatziki. The gyro platters were great and really exemplified Greek cuisine. The service was good and helpful. This a nice neighborhood Greek restaurant that I'd come back for dinner again.

This is still my favorite restaurant, when I feel like a nice atmosphere and consistently greater tasty food! The staff is wonderful and always available to assist. In fact, going tonight!

Unassuming looking café. Casual atmosphere. Small seating space inside, so not for parties larger than 8. For such large parties, you definitely need in-advance reservations. Recommend reservations even for small parties, because on a Tuesday night, this place PACKS up. We had a reservation. By 7pm, not a single table was available. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Quick service. The portions are massive for a reasonable price. Everyone takes home leftover bags. Great for sharing. Or for ensuring you have leftover lunch the next day. $13 halloumi appetizer was meh. Good portion, but it was barely warm, even after we asked it to be reheated in the oven again. Halloumi is best served pipping hot, which this dish was not. $17 moussaka was underwhelming. A huge slice, served with some tossed salad. Moussaka was dry and bland. Requires a looooot of seasoning. Skip. $17 gyro plate was ginormous. Enough to burst your stomach. Everything was delicious, so I'd get this again. The gyro was on the saltier side, so I drank a gallon of water and was dehydrated for the whole night after dinner.

Ambiance of the restaurant is pretty loud. They use paper table coverings. Food wise like all the reviews say portions are pretty large but it does correspond with the price. Quality of the food was pretty fair-good. Taziki dip was very good and refreshing. Moussakka was a bit dry. The server was pretty attentive even though the restaurant was busy. Overall a pleasant experience.

Delicious food with fresh ingredients. A must try when in the neighborhood. Friendly and attentive staff. I never had to wait to be seated or too long for the food.

Food and service was spectacular our first visit and we were treated like royalty. Staff was so happy to explain the menu options and there recommendation's were spot on .

Meze sits on an unassuming street corner on an avenue that sporadically has restaurants. There is outdoor dining available, though the tables are not spaced 6 feet apart. At least they have sanitizer inside the entrance. I've always got to get my Greek food fix, so that's why I've been going to Meze. Another reason is really the speed of food preparation. A different Greek restaurant I called said it would take 45-50 minutes to be ready. Meze, however, has been usually 20-25 minutes. What has been ordered thus far: - Lamb Gyro Platter - Pork Souvlaki Platter - Chicken Souvlaki Platter - Fried Calamari The Greek fries that come with a platter--unless you ask for double salad instead--I actually really enjoy. They taste great with feta! You have to try to eat them as soon as you get the meal or else it'll succumb to the liquids seeping from the salad. I'm not a huge fan of the chicken souvlaki; it tastes quite dry. The pork, on the other hand, is SUPER juicy. I would rate it 10/10 except that both souvlaki orders arrive kind of burnt. Also, for some reason, the chicken souvlaki platter comes with 4 skewers, but the pork only 2 (see photo). The lamb gyro platter is a solid choice. Lots of spices and flavor. Now the fried calamari is outrageously $16.95!! More expensive than the souvlaki platters, which are $15.95. The gyro is $9.95. I thought for such a high price, there would be a ton of calamari, but not at all (see photo).

Meze is a Greek restaurant with an inviting, jovial atmosphere. The decor and layout of the restaurant will make you feel like you're part of a large family dinner. My friends and I entered with high hopes, for some delicious Greek food after a few hours of touring the Christmas lights of Dyker. The restaurant was packed when we got there, and we weren't given an time estimate by the waiter. We probably waited about 30 minutes before we were seated. Then, we waited another 10 minutes for water and to have our orders taken. The highlight of the meal for me was the complimentary pita with olive oil. It was warm and soft, but I cautioned myself to save room for the Moussaka I had ordered. It is described as a Greek Casserole with baked eggplant, ground beef, topped with a cheese béchamel sauce and baked until golden brown. When it arrived, I eagerly cut myself a slice, but was instantly disappointed. It was almost flavorless. I couldn't taste any of the eggplant supposedly nestled in between the layers. The ground beef layer did not deliver the hearty meat juices I expected. I tried to douse it with some black pepper to save it, but eventually settled for eating a few bites with the accompanying Greek salad. My friends and I also shared an order of the Loukoumades, small donut holes filled with Nutella. These tasted ok, but I think they would have been better sprinkled with cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar. It was a busy Saturday night so maybe that's why the dishes fell short. My friends who ordered gyro platters did enjoy their meal so maybe their Moussaka is the only thing that needs work.

Typical Greek restaurant, not worse and not better. We came soon after opening and it was quite coololish inside, I had to seat in jacket. The tea I ordered was a murder, awful lipton. Chicken was undercooked but I liked the fries. Coming from Bay Ridge I won't be back since we have pretty good restaurant close by.

This place is decent and the location is really awesome and actually very cute and it's great that they have been there so long and survived but please beware of ordering the octopus appetiser. It is not listed on the menu and there is no price listed or at least I can tell you that there is no price listed where they pull the old " market price" trick. When I got the bill it was total sticker shock costing nearly $30 for the appetiser which I can assure you was only two legs which is again totally unacceptable. I was a manager of a Greek restaurant and we served an actual octopus appetiser for $18 which had more portion than this and also the octopus dinner on tray which was four legs with soup or salad and a side dish for 27$ Please be very careful and do not be ashamed to ask the price before you order

The wait staff is always professional to the customers. I recommend the saganaki as an appetizer. Watching the saganaki go up in flames before it's delivered is fun to watch.

Greek cuisine is always overpriced, but Meze is particularly so. With musical instruments hung on the wall and a travel show with scenes from Greece on TV, this Greek restaurant makes you feel welcome. Servers are polite and servings are decent, with the one complaint being their forever increasing prices. Saganaki is fried kefalograviera cheese that gets lit up. It's cool to have your dish go in flames, but we didn't even realize that the lit up dish was ours until the flames went away and the plate was put on our table. The server lit the skillet up above our heads behind our table, most likely to keep everyone safe, but we could have enjoyed the presentation a lot more had we experienced it better. The kefalograviera was nice and salty, albeit a thin square slice for a whopping $14. Pass on this one. Greek chicken strips ($16) were nicely grilled with a tasty char on the outside. The strips came with pita bread and a meze dip that had tons of feta, scallions, tomatoes and green peppers. The dip was large and delicious. This dish is in the appetizers section; not sure why since it was more filling than our main, which I'll discuss next. Moussaka ($15) is a homemade casserole with ground beef, baked eggplant and bechamel sauce. Normally one of my favorite Greek dishes, the moussaka here was thin and lacked eggplant flavor. Upon dissecting the dish in hopes of finding the eggplant, my favorite ingredient, I was disappointed to see a thin spread of eggplant dip between the beef and bechamel sauce layers. Moussaka came with a large side salad, but I would have been okay with no side salad had the moussaka just been thicker. I liked the ambiance and enjoyed the dishes, but was shocked to see Manhattan prices without equivalent quality. All I'm saying is you could get a better moussaka and saganaki with less cash out of your pocket at Kiki's in Chinatown.

A wonderful Greek restaurant located right here in a Brooklyn, New York! Very cozy and romantic little spot that serves so many yummy authentic Greek meals. We had the the Zucchini Chips, Lamb Gyro Platter, Grilled Octopus, New Zealand Baby Lamb Chips, Horiatiki Salad, and the Baklava Cheesecake, paired with their White House Wine (totally recommend!). All of the dishes were fresh and exquisite! The grilled octopus is literally perfect and the baklava cheesecake made our Valentine's Day Dinner just wonderful. Do yourself a favor and enjoy an amazing meal at Meze!

I live around the area and decided to try out Meze. Meze stands out to me because there aren't many greek restaurants in the immediate area. When we went, we saw lots of families eating inside. We got the Chicken Souvlaki Platter and the Lamb Souvlaki Platter. We had some complimentary bread with olive oil while waiting. The platters are HUGE and will definitely fill your stomach up to the brim. I had to take half of my platter to go.

In this neck of the woods is a good Mediterranean restaurant. It is not a populated area, but not too quiet, probably more of a restaurant for local people since there isn't too much around here. You would have to go quite a distance to see the Dyker Heights Christmas lights from here, about 15 minute walk. They started us off with some bread, it was so soft and amazing, I kept on ordering, that's usually my filler item. I ordered the grape leaves starter which is grape leaves stuffed with rice, pine nuts, and fresh herbs. Tasted very fresh and yummy. The branzino was grilled to perfection as the fish was not dry at all, quite juicy. My friend had the lamb chops and it was made great and tasted delicious. Service was good, all of our needs were attended, it was a weekday but quite packed. Parking is not easy to find, metered parking is your best bet.

Great Mediterranean spot in Brooklyn. I loved the chicken platter. The portion size is amazing and definitely worth it. It's a great spot to come after work and have a relaxing meal.

The chicken skewers and beef skewers were very good! Substantial amount of meat and beautifully charred on a charcoal grill! The zucchini fries and Greek fries were soggy upon arrival of takeout. I wish they used better packaging to preserve the crispness. I ended up putting them in the air fryer to crisp them back up. Their Greek salad is full of feta cheese and really juicy tomatoes. The moussaka was super flavorful! The beef was well seasoned and the cheesy bechamel topping balanced the dish.

Recommended by a friend as said its the best Greek in Brooklyn. We went for lunch with a long out of the way drive from 92nd Street. We decided on some traditional sides and some casual lunch platters. -Grilled octopus was good with just enough of olive oil drizzle and charness. -Greek sausage was actually lamb basic. I found it a bit gamey which I don't mine. Was lean and flavorful. We decided on two platters: the lamb gyro and the chicken souvlaki. Each comes a choice of french fries, rice, or lemon potatoes. The lamb gyro is really good as its not greasy via the chicken souvlaki was a bit dry and bland. The fries and the rice were on point but the lemon potatoes were a bit of a disappointment. Was bland and the worst I have had. We saw other customers ordering the seafood. Their prawns were huge. We would definitely go back for their more dinner items. Their lunch and dinner menu is the same but I would go back for more of their specialize dishes.

I love Greek food and love this place! I've had take out from here and have dined at the restaurant numerous times. This place gets crowded! Came with a group of 5 on a Wednesday night and we had to wait a hour for a table. Make sure you make reservations! They have an extensive menu with daily specials. It is pricier than other Greek restaurants but the quality is definitely better. I usually get the chicken platter that comes with a side of greek fries, salad and pita bread. I've tried a few of the dips before and they were delicious as well! Definitely will be coming back to try the other stuff on their menu!

My first time ordering and I can't describe how delicious the food was. It was for about 10 people and Steve was so helpful in organizing this. Everyone from different backrounds loved the food. Chicken was perfect, lamb melted in your mouth. Salad, potatoes every single thing was delicious. Thank you Meze. Will be ordering more in future.
