I had a very good experience with the food at Mezeh (Meditateeam food) and I would recommend the place. However, I'm only giving it 3 stars because of the quantity versus price. I ordered a spicy lamb rice bowl for $20 plus tip. Even though the food was excellent, the portion size was too small, and there wasn't enough of anything not even rice

I want to like this place because the food is good, but I’ve had two bad experiences here now and I don’t think it’s worth the hassle. The first time, I ordered in person but the person behind the bar got a few things incorrect. That was a custom bowl, so I can see where that might get confused. Second time, I placed an order in the app for a default bowl at 12:52 that was due for pickup at 1:04. I arrived in other at 1 and It wasn’t done until 1:22. The frustrating part is that people who lined up and didn’t do pickup orders got perfectly reasonable service. It seemed like they only had 1 person doing online orders while 4 or more were doing in person. I’m understanding of tough lunch rushes, but there wasn’t a long line of customers ordering on the line and 18 minutes past the due time is a bit excessive. I hate to be a complaining Karen, but I asked why there was so much less meat than in the photo since it was such an lengthy extra wait, and the employee brushed me off completely and wouldn’t do anything. I’d recommend steering clear of this place if you don’t have a lot of extra time on your hands to wait.

Had chicken with spicy hummus and other goodies -- tasted so yummy! Everything was fresh and the space was clean and roomy. The staff are really nice and the juices are great also! Would recommend

Great healthy lunch choice! We got All Veggie and Beet It. The place has a modern, spacious and beautifully decorated dining area. This place lost a star from the smell near the bathroom. What a pity!

Good spacious place, reasonable pricing, good quantity. Got a customized bowl for just $14 and the quantity was good for two. The chicken kebab and falafel both tasted fresh.

Tasty food and good salad options. I liked the chicken kabob cooked with raw onion and pepper. Only downside is the chicken being a little cold as it’s sitting there. I especially liked the real plates and real silverware which was refreshing.

I waited over 10 minutes just to place my order with 3 people ahead of me. The order style is similar to a Chipotle, where you go down the line and tell them what you want. I felt bad for the *only* front of house employee, who had to make the food, check people out AND clean up the dirty tables. There were at least two workers in the back of house, chopping vegetables instead of helping customers or helping their coworker who was clearly struggling to keep up. Management is clearly an issue because no one should be slicing vegetables when you have 5 people in line waiting to order and only one person taking orders and ringing them up. Chopping vegetables was not a priority as there was plenty of vegetables for customers in the front. After the front of house employee was able to get through the 5 of us in line (over 25 minutes to do this), she then went to clean up the dirty tables before the next customer arrived. Because the other employees were hiding in the back pretending to be busy, multiple tables sat dirty for an extended period of time. I just can't imagine being a coworker and not offering to help ring people up or even take some orders, and leaving your coworker to just rot up there by themselves!!! I cannot blame the person who made my food and rang me up. They were clearly doing their best and doing it alone. I was just appalled that the other employees (who were in customers line of vision) were either chopping vegetables and ignoring the line building up or sitting in the back doing who knows what. I can't even say they were short staffed. It seemed like they had enough staff, but they weren't prioritizing the right tasks. I'd come back for the food, but I am a little hesitant given the clear management issues here with prioritization.

Another excellent addition to halal restaurant scene in NY. I've been going here for about a year and the food is always fresh and consistent and it's my go to place for a quick lunch. A word of warning, the place gets very busy around lunch time. So if you can go a bit earlier or later, you'll wait much less. I usually prefer to get takeout but if you prefer to eat over there, they have enough space and the interior is pretty clean. I also recently discovered they participate in MealPal. I'd prefer the regular "build your bowl" ordering but MealPal options are great as well. I'll continue to be back!

If you're looking for clean fast food, look no further!! Mezeh is one of my all time favorites and go-to for quick meals and the portions are so generous! They have so many different topping choices to make your own bowl at no additional cost and everything tastes so yummy! I love all the dips and the caramelized eggplant especially. Their side of bread is also so warm and tastes really fresh as well. I absolutely love Mezeh and it's such a staple for me and my friends. I definitely recommend trying out if you also enjoy places like Cava!

I ordered the chicken shwarma bowl with roasted vegetables, classic hummus, roasted corn salsa, chickpea salad, caramelized eggplant, cherry tomatoes, sumac cucumbers, crumbled feta and pita croutons with tzatziki and tahini sauces. Portion size was good and ingredients were fresh. Delicious food and plenty of seats. (on a weekend)Will definitely come back again to try their other bowls.

Upon entering this location on weekend, place is not pack at all. Plenty of seatings. Got the chicken shawarma bowl and you can add as many toppings as you like. My bowl came out huge and very filling. Love the combination of toppings and sauces. Service was quick as you just tell the staff what you want and they put it on the bowl for you. Then you pay and find a seat if you are sitting in.

Finally was able to come in for dinner and I completely loved this place. The salad was super tasty and the addition of chicken shawarma was amazing. Good portion size as well and thankfully it wasn't crowded. People behind the counter were very amiable.

I love Mezeh. It's a similar concept to Cava, but superior in my opinion as they have so many more options for toppings. The interior is huge with lots of seating, good spot for a quick casual lunch in Flatiron/Union Square area. When you look down the line where food is, there are so many colors and textures which just speaks to the variety and freshness you get here. I really do get a day's worth of vegetables with each bowl. For vegetarians, there's falafel and veggie kefta which are both fresh and flavorful. My bowl is always packed as it's hard not to get nearly every topping. Some of my favorites are the baba ghanoush, grilled eggplant, and beet dip. I always get a pita on the side, and the bread always tastes like it was baked that day. The service can sometimes be slow as there aren't many people working at any given time, but they ladies working their are kind and are nice enough to give me extra of my favorite dips on the side.

Sadly having to change my positive review. I ordered from here a few months ago and it was great. Unfortunately, this time my bowl was missing multiple toppings, and the toppings that were included were a thimble-full. The bowl itself was only half filled. The chicken was only a few small pieces, and the ingredients were mushy and flavorless. The pita included was hard and seemed stale. This place has really gone down in quality.

I came here for a quick stop for dinner recently and I was pleased since it was still open and didn't take long to get food. The service was great. We asked to do a make your own bowl and the toppings weren't additional. That is such a nice change. We got half grilled chicken and half shawarma chicken and some mixed greens followed by rice and toppings and sauce. They even included a pita. The amount was very filling and could probably fill two if you aren't starving. I really like the interior and was glad there was ample seating. I can totally see this as a great place to meet with friends to get work done. There doesn't seem to be a rewards program yet but would definitely join if there was one. We didn't use the bathroom but it seemed cleaned like the rest of the restaurant.

I love Mediterranean food and I love eating healthy, whole ingredients. Mezeh is perfect for both. They offer bowls with set combinations of ingredients, or ones you can customize yourself. If you don't fancy a bowl, grab a pita pocket or flatbread wrap, instead. You pick your base (I love the bulgar pilaf!), protein, toppings (all included!) and sauce, and you're good to go. Their fountain drinks are refreshing and the food is really good. It's flavorful and I would definitely suggest getting two sauces to try out because they're interesting and can provide a different flavor profile within the same meal. They have a large dining area and everything is clean. The staff is very helpful and patient. I immediately felt happy when I walked in. Parking is available right out front but obviously, weekends are going to be best for travel by car. Their food is great for taking out. Grab and go, find a pretty people-watching spot in the warmer weather months, and enjoy your lunch. Needless to say, I'll be back...

Quite a yummy meal I got a bowl with chicken shawarma and it was delicious. I like the chicken quite a bit! This place is like a Mediterranean chipotle, where you pick your protein and everything you want in the bowl. They give you a little bit of everything, so you get to try lots of stuff. Of all the things I tried, I liked the eggplant the best! Would highly recommend it! Overall a delicious bowl of food :)

This is a great (new?) Mediterranean spot for a quick casual shawarma bowl. It is conveniently located next to the AMC 19th Street movie theater where I frequently go for the movies so now I can say I have a new quick go-to place for food before or after the movies. Ordering was not too complicated and I was able to easily customize the chicken shawarma bowl to my liking with various different toppings, ingredient and sauces. I loved everything and there was a slight kick of spice in the chicken shawarma but was cooled down by the yogurt sauce. On a side note, I came here on a Sunday in the early evening hours so it was pretty empty with only one person working the front doing everything but I assume that this place gets pretty busy on the weekdays during the lunch hours.

Mezeh is a part of my weekly lunch rotation. There's a LOT of Mediterranean bowl spots in the city but the amount the get & the flavor you get with Mezeh is unmatched . Really love this spot - recommend their spicy lamb bowl

I'm a big fan of Cava, Taim, Fle Fle, etc, and this was my first time trying Mezeh. I built my own bowl and it was good, but Cava and others are definitely better. Prices are lower here.

If you are a fan of 1) quick serve eateries 2) Mediterranean food 3) healthy food and 4) CAVA, the popular Mediterranean fast casual chain, you will like Mezeh. It feels very similar to CAVA, which I love, but actually even better in some ways. For one, they offer more protein options for vegetarians, like the veggie kefta. The falafel is also crispier, and the beet dip is not to be missed. You are allowed unlimited toppings, so you can leave with quite the hefty bowl. Some of the best toppings include the aforementioned beet dip, lebanese tabbouleh, sundried tomato salad, cilantro hummus, and crunchy chickpeas. Everything tastes really fresh and complements the other ingredients nicely. The food has always been served to me quickly and there's plenty of seating and I've always been able to have a quick, healthy, and peaceful meal here. While I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to eat this, I don't hesitate to drop in when I'm in the area.

I actually really like this place! I am a semi-vegetarian so the food options here are great! I enjoy the Mediterranean mix of halal meat, hummus, and salads. The price tag of $13 is great because majority of the meals in NYC costs at least $15+ now after inflations. The staff seem friendly and this location is spacious! I would come back to order again!

Good option for healthy food! I ordered the Meat lovers over postmates for $20 and enjoyed a good meal out of it. It was enough food for two meals with plenty of meat&salad. The dressing was a bit diluted but tasted good nonetheless!

Fully realizing that you can't throw a rock in my hometown and not hit a kabob restaurant, we somehow were in NY craving Mediterranean. Yelp led us to Mezeh and all in all it was a fine choice. Your order is prepared right in front of you (think Chipotle) so you can build your meal as you see fit or simply by name (Chicken Chicken, Mezeh Classic, maybe falafel on the side). Very good food and everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was a bit slow but I'll give them a break - it was lunchtime.

It's fine. This is the chipotle of mediterranean food. I like the wide assortment of toppings and elements you can add to your bowl. Pretty healthy and quick for a grab and go dinner or lunch. Not expensive, but not necessarily cheap either. The service was quick, no complaints. The space is decently large so you can sit inside to eat if you want - though there is no AC so in the summer it's a bit stuffy.

This has become my favorite place to get lunch during the work week. I like to make my own bowl. I always order the same thing, Spinach, brown basmati rice, protein, cilantro hummus and the roasted eggplant, Israeli salad, spicy feta, corn, harissa and tzatziki sauce. This food makes me feel good and it is so delicious. The meats are all halal, for those who follow a halal diet.

I would have not known about this new Mediterranean place between Union Square and Flatiron if it weren't for the Yelp Elite event. I came here really late and thankfully they are open until 9pm and the food (made a falafel bowl with everything in it) was still pretty good! It has plenty of seating room and it's set up like a Mediterranean Chipotle. The only issue was it barely had any signage so I walked past it a couple of times until I looked directly into the restaurant window. Hopefully, they do fix that otherwise you may completely miss it!

Thought the chicken shawarma bowl I got was very average. Pretty sure I got food poisoning after eating here. It was the only thing I ate that day so I'm almost certain it's what caused it

Ok, so I hate to do them like this with the 3 stars because I've definitely enjoyed the food from here on occasion, and I keep coming back in hopes that I'll catch them on a good day. However, the following are the reasons for the 3 star treatment: 1) Sometimes it smells a little funky. My co-worker said like fish, but I actually think it's more a dirty mop kind of funk. Fix that please (a diffuser with some other fragrance by the door could help). 2) Sometimes the protein options are cold. Nobody wants those luke warm lamb meatballs. 3) The fountain beverages are terrible. Like absolutely not good. Do not drink those tarty, unflavored, teas. 4) They get a little stingy with the toppings from time to time. Like, can you refill this empty container of couscous and heap a full spoonful on, thank you. Again, it's not every-time, and like I mentioned, I've enjoyed the food, and it's affordable and efficient, but it's definitely a hit or miss. Today, it was a 3.5/4.

I came to Mezeh for the Yelp Elite event and enjoyed the free bowl. The staff was friendly but the language barrier was difficult to overcome. Beyond that it was quite slow so I'd have to imagine it can be improved somehow. I enjoyed the layout of the restaurant and aesthetic. I liked my bowl and the combination of flavors. It was tasty and the ingredients seemed fresh. If there was a Mezeh near my office or apartment I could see myself going there once in a while. I think it has a lot of potential if they could improve on the small pain points.

Great find! Happened to be at the equinox in flatiron and spotted Mezeh across from the gym. What intrigued me was the sign for made in house ingredients - of course already a win in my books. My friend and I decided to swing by for dinner after our workout and I'm so glad we did. Think Cava but fresher, tastier and more options. Like way more options-I was so pleasantly surprised by the variety of items available to add to our bowls. I ordered a custom chicken kebab salad with so many different dips and toppings and somehow it only came out to ~$13. Not only that but after eating my meal, I felt replenished and not gross at all. This will be my new take out spot - I cannot wait to come back here.

Came here a few times on my lunch break and really quite liked the food, but recently something seems a bit off. The meats kind of look like they've been sitting there just a touch too long, and strangely, the whole place smells fishy. I say strangely because there is no fish on the menu at all. I thought I was going crazy but it seems like other reviewers noticed this too The service isn't as friendly as it could be, again, as noted by other reviewers, but that isn't as off-putting to me as the smell that slaps ya when you walk in. Overall, just okay. Nothing to sing from the rooftops about. Nothing horribly wrong either. A solid 3/5.

This is a pretty solid spot for a quick, casual lunch. It's nicely decorated and surprisingly pretty spacious with lots of seating. They have some signature bowls that you can choose from or you can make your own bowl or wrap by choosing a base, protein, and all the toppings you want. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend it for a quick meal if you're in the area.

This is a great spot for a healthy lunch. It's easy to make one of their bowls feel like an extra filling salad and the sauces are all good too. The manager when I was there was also super friendly, but I didn't get her name.

Food is good, but online orders are FREQUENTLY wrong (missing items, items you didn't ask for side dressings missing or dumped in altogether). If they could get orders right, would be 4 or 5 stars

I used to frequent mezeh in DC so was glad to see it here. Unfortunately my visit wa lack luster. The service was not friendly and the food was just ok it was not like I remembered it back in DC Unfortunately

short version: yum!!!!! the workers here are patient and helpful, the space is HUGE/spacious, and the food is great. the veggies were fresh which I really appreciated, the chicken in my chicken shawarma bowl was seasoned well, and the sauce variety/options go perfectly with the cuisine. it's "chipotle style" in that you add veggies, sauce, rice, and protein as you go down the line and everything I saw just made perfect sense. I think I got all the veggies in my bowl and I have no regrets there. really good option for a quick/casual lunch!

I work around Union Square and must have passed this place dozens of times without ever taking notice of its existence. Finally took notice trying to avoid the same options I typically gravitate towards and was pleasantly surprised. I could eat chicken and rice every day and never get tired of it, so making a bowl for myself was an easy option. Service was great, she didn't put anything in it that I didn't ask for and can't really hope for anything else in that scenario. Decided to dine in and the place is absolutely massive. Comfortable seating no complaints. Bathroom downstairs was out of a horror movie, but just adds to the ginormous layout of the space. Overall no real complaints, the 4 star was simply because I would have preferred the food to be served hot, was a little surprised when I dug in and it was a cold bowl. Not bad, just different.

Wow really good falafel but very garlicky so beware all you talk to. Very polite young man at the counter. Plenty of variety to choose from. Like Cava but I would say it's better and way more choices.

Take out experience. Great place to get quick Mediterranean fresh healthy flavorful food. Tried the chicken kebab and falafel bowl bowl and was surprised how tasty and well seasoned plate it was, exceeded my expectations in comparison to other similar joints. Yummy! Mezeh offers fresh and fast Mediterranean food in the form of bowls or pitas. The food is flavorful and has a variety of options to choose from to fill up your bowl. The service was fast and friendly and interior is huge. I'm definitely coming back!

Really Meh This place is a chain and it really taste like it. Food was flavorless, kinda tasted like a frozen meal. I'm sure it's not healthy for your body. Hard to understand how they were even able to grow into a chain. Employees looked very unmotivated and the place has a cold vibe. Feel a bit depressed when inside. There are other better options around specially for $15, go to cocina del sur to eat a healthy meal flavorful meal instead

Staff was kind and apologetic. No air conditioning and no Diet Coke. No offer for refund when soda machine was out and they didn't have cans. Management needs to step up and fix problems.

Wonderful wide variety of yummy whole foods to choose from. We had the very veggie bowl. The veggie kefta was a nice change from falafel. Most Mediterranean places only have falafel so it's cool to have something different. The Lebanese tabbouleh was very nice. Definitely coming back.

So glad theyre in NYC! All their meats are Halal. You can choose a bowl, wrap, or pizza from the menu or build your own. I like building my own so I can add as little or as much as I like. I recommend the spicy shawarma and potato falafel. They have so many toppings to choose from, along with fresh greens, spicy hummus, and so much more! The inside is spacious, you can even take your laptop and wfh. :)

Quick, convenient, affordable, and very tasty - I love the style of building your own bowl with tons of toppings. Though there was a short lunchtime wait, it was a very neat and efficient process. The location itself is super spacious, modern, and peaceful, with a lot of socially distanced seating (though most people opt for takeout). I customized my own bowl for $11.55, and the server was very generous. My favorite toppings were probably the amazing carmelized eggplant and crunchy chickpeas. I got half falafel, half veggie kefta, and both were pretty good. Everything tasted really fresh, would definitely go back again!

Very good service, the drink tasted great. I was the only patron at the time but a young man walked in moments later. Very clean, quiet, service was good. Surprised to see it was empty.

There is no limit (or extra fee) for add-ins, and the variety is incredible: pickled turnips, pickled beets, pickled onions, israeli salad, roasted carrots, cucumber sumac, caramelized eggplant, greek beet dip, tabbouleh, and on and on and on... More importantly, the food has great flavor. Everything is super fresh and nutritious, so you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. Their in-house drinks/teas are also super yummy, too, so check those out!! The location has a great vibe with lots of seating options and space to gather! So it's great for a casual date, large group lunch, or solo quick bite.
