MFK stands for Modern Filipino Kitchen and they specialize in updated versions of Filipino classics. Their kamayan spread comes with all the basics, along with their tangy house ensaladang kamatis - tomato salad with fried garlic, chopped red onions, and cracked pepper. For the rest, you can choose seven selections from the 10 available - we like the snappy longganisa and tahong (mussels). Remember to place your order at least 72 hours in advance, and for dine-in, there’s a minimum reservation of six adults. "Located just down the road from Knott’s Berry Farm, MFK is a modern, order-at-the-counter Filipino restaurant and your best bet for lunch on a stretch largely dominated by chains. The menu is small, with only a handful of different bowls and two “small bites,” but it still covers an impressive amount of ground. With minced crispy pork, fried egg, and lemon aioli, the sisig isn’t a traditional version by any means, but it is a tremendous one and needs to be ordered every time you come to MFK. From there, round out your meal with some pork lumpia, bistek tagalog (marinated beefsteak), and some “purple drank” (an horchata/ube combo beverage), and you’ve got yourself the best lunch in the neighborhood." - Brant Cox

"After an explosion tore through the Anaheim location in September 2020 — an incident later attributed by the Orange County fire marshal to spontaneous combustion from cooking oils trapped in towel fibers — MFK by Aysee regrouped and reinvented itself in Bellflower. I describe it as a reborn, fast-casual take on the original concept, one that leans into a grill-focused menu with plated versions of familiar Filipino dishes such as barbecued pork belly, bangus (milk fish), garlicky chicken adobo, pancit noodles, and lumpia; it operates daily from lunch through dinner.
