Delicious. This cali girl and her sister was satisfied. We got the short ribs and 1/2 lb Birria and more. Felt 💯 like we were visiting a small Mexican shop in Cali. Closest to authentic. 💜💜 love my Mex brothers and sisters

Me and my family loved the grilled ribs, steak and tamales. Seasoning was great too. This place is definitely will be on my list to return. The service was excellent. The cook/manager and cashier name Kevin was very friendly and helpful. They also give a military discount (10%}.

Mi Sol Tortilleria & Parrillada (8339 Richmond Highway). Dude is out here at the crack of dawn hurling hardwood into a outdoor barrel smoker and grilling beef, pork, chicken, and sausage. The parking lot aroma will make your mouth water. You can buy grilled meats by the pound, or build a combo with sides. Tacos are $3.50-4 each, but they’re stuffed with meat and the tortillas are hand made. I could barely finish the three I ordered; the beef was tender, moist, with a good char and plenty of smokiness from the wood. They also serve soups and you can build a torta from your choice of meat with beans, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapeno, and avocado for $12. Plenty of bottled drinks in the cooler, including Mexican Fantas, Jarritos, and glass bottled Cokes made with cane sugar. Interior is clean and bright. They’re open 8:30am-8pm every day.

Wonderful meats, and good prices. Stopped in to pick up a lunch for my girlfriend and I. Very good tortilla, large and supple. Chicharon was fresh, and carnitas had good amount of fat and meat. I will be back here often.

I ordered a chicken taco and a steak taco , both were dry. I did come around 8:30ish pm , 30 min before closing. The torta was okay. I will try this place again earlier in the day and hopefully it’s better.

Small shop with all the Hispanic cooking essentials that are hard to find at a regular grocery. And the food! Soooo good. Great to stop for a quick lunch or grab dinner for the family. I got the pollo rostizado with a pack of tortillas, onions and jalapeños, side of rice and beans and salsa. We ate it up! I went back the next day for more.

Last weekend we came here to see what Mi Sol was all about, noticing the smoking barbecue next to the building. Other reviews note that you can get a combo plate and/or tacos, but all we saw was a display case filled with meats. There was also a fridge with beverages. As far as a menu goes, there was just a little white board on the counter saying what the prices were for meat by the pound. We'll likely come back when we are looking for food to take home, but on this day it didn't seem we could get a meal onsite, so we left. If they are serving individual meals, they should have a menu showing what they are. A note about the Yelp listing for this place, it show as in Engleside, VA. I've never even heard of Engleside. Mi Sol is in Alexandria.

Meat was cooked hours earlier and I think the store thinks that if it sits on a steam table it will stay moist... The costilla was dry and tough, the chorizo was also dry, dry, dry. The barbacoa was okay, as was the fresh tortillas. This meat would probably be real good if you could time it when it just comes off the grill.

This place has HANDMADE TORTILLAS! They are amazing. Try their deliciously tender and juicy barbacoa tacos. They also have grilled chicken that's very juicy and grilled steak and ribs. Try a side of grilled jalapeño or onions to complement your dish. Did I mention they also sell tortillas to go? This will be my go-to place for handmade tortillas!!

Visited Mi Sol Tortilleria & Parrillada today and was excited to try all the goodies they have to offer. The food was absolutely delicious, and the snacks were just as good! Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. I'll definitely be returning soon!

I wanted to try them. There was only a young teenager there. He couldn't speak any english. I wanted their tacos but since he couldn't understand me I ordered the chicken and rice. It was a generous serving and was good. It just didn't seem very clean.

This place actually has the goods like carnitas, carne asada, and more. Service was really nice to everyone, however they could do better for the atmosphere can be better but all in all, it's pretty good place to eat

Some of the best tacos and fresh tortillas in the area! Everything is fresh, and delicious!!
