I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Food was delicious. Portions were huge. Salsa and chips were excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful. Family owned restaurant with the owner still working there with her daughters. I love all their military pictures on the wall and pictures of their loved ones. I got the chicken quesadilla for lunch. Absolutely delicious. I want to try their breakfast burritos next time I'm in Lubbock.

Saturday lunch and both the service and the food was wonderful! Server was by herself but paid a lot of attention to her tables and I never felt neglected. All of the food items were fresh and hot as appropriate. Lot of food. You won't leave hungry!!

Google

Google
This is the coolest place ever! The crunchy tacos 🌮 were amazing! On Tuesday they have all you can eat tacos! BYOBB and some good love music! Staff was fabulous! Thank you for a great dinner!

Google
The chips were fine the salsa was okay service was decent. Everything was ok till a bug crawled out from my chalupa order while I was about to eat it..no telling how many bugs that i would've eaten underneath a mound full of lettuce. I asked the waitress did she tell the manager. She said yes. So I decided to ask her myself thinking surely she wouldn't have me pay for a dish with bugs coming out from it I was told that I still had to pay..wow!!! Never going back. Do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else, and if you decide to eat here, please check your food first before you eat it, or you will end up like me. Disappointed!!!!!

Yelp
Got the beef enchiladas to go. Plus a half dozen tamales. Everything was good n fresh. Not quite as spicy as I like but that could be me....just finished my last round of antibiotics today. The freshness of my food was great. The prices and the service were both on point. Even had a band playing ol 70's cover songs. It is BYOB. I would like to try their breakfast. Totally glad I walked over there. Anything is better than Subway or Chester's chicken. For the same price I got good fresh food and a little break from the road. THE TAMALES ARE THE BEST. About 1$ a piece. I grabbed a half a dozen. Next time I'll get at least a dozen. Yummy Yummy!! This was on a Friday night, and the band was great. The MAVERICK's. Ignore the 1 bad review about the band. These guys were great. Wish I had more time and a beer

Yelp
Delicious breakfast burritos and a proper southern greeting! A fun family atmosphere with a country boy playing guitar and singing mellow songs as you ingest some fabulous food! You feel like you walked into grandmas house for a delicious weekend breakfast! The chef even came out to ask us how our food was! A must stop on a roadtrip or hungry in Lubbock!

Yelp
First trip here. The food was outstanding. I had 2 poblanos with tomato sauce and a side of rice. Everything was hot, fresh and tasty. The chips were fresh and the salsa had a great flavor with just a little heat. It's a great place to stop on the way to or from the airport.

Yelp
This place slings dope burritos straight through a drive up window. Of course, you can sit down and eat inside, but I haven't had the honor yet. On my recent visit, I was bringing a friend to the airport when she suddenly found out her departure had a 30-minute delay. In the no-man's-land surrounding the airport Mi Taco village is the sparkling gem. Skip the Subway and zip through their drive-thru. We snagged two breakfast burritos at a decent price and with incredible flavor. Not to mention with plenty of time to spare. No stomachs were empty. No flights were missed. Go here.

Yelp
The nachos are nothing but cheese and beans and chips. I have a pretty accurate thermometer and it looks like their thermostat set at 85°. It's really burning hot in here. And they have an extremely loud band. We can't even hear ourselves scream to each other at the table. And they are out of tune, and they keep having extreme feedback damaging our hearing. It seems like the first time they've ever had a speaker and an amplifier, sticking the microphones into the speaker and causing loud squeals. And they just keep doing it. They don't have a clue how they're causing it, but they need to get the microphones out of the speakers. We're leaving early because we are going to have hearing damage and heat stroke at the same time.

Yelp
I got the wet burritos and they were kind enough to also give me an extra piece of hair. I found hair inside the meat and I knew there was going to be something wrong with my food the way the lady was taking my order and not being patient with me. The service 1/10 the food 7/10. It just seemed too bland. I went through the drive thru and the wait time was 30 minutes. I won't be going here again :)

Yelp
Love the food... Service is always great !! Enchiladas to Hamburgers to the best QUESO in town !!!
google avatar

Reggie M.

Yelp
Some of the best food in town. Great family owned business. The tacos and enchiladas are amazing. Chips and salsa and queso are always on point.

Yelp
A quaint little spot north of the loop, this not-so-far out of the way gem was bustling at lunchtime. The service was prompt and the food was deliciously filling. I couldn't get enough of the carne guisada! Tuesdays are all-you-can-eat tacos. The sign out front advertises the best chile rellenos in Texas, which is quite the claim. I don't know if they are the best in the state, but they were definitely good. I look forward to many return visits.

Yelp
Stopped for a quick bite on the way home. Great service. Chips and salsa were great. My son had a double hamburger, and my husband and I had mexican food, tacos & quesadilla. It was all great! Live musians were setting up to perform. We would definitely come back.

Sean T.

Yelp
This place is a little small and not much for atmosphere but the food is awesome. The best Chili relleno around! Chips & queso is delicious they make their own salsa and it's gooood! Great service and they have live music from local talent all the time.
google avatar

Allysa B.

Yelp
Hidden gem!? The food is cheap the staff is friendly and they have live music some nights. Like where are you at if you're not here?

Yelp
Mi Taco Village is a Lubbock staple. For good reason. I noticed they didn't have a recent review so here I am. They have been consistently good for YEARS. The salsa is wonderful. The green queso is to die for. The servers are nice and efficient. The fountain coke has a perfect soda to syrup ratio with plenty of bubbles. The restaurant seems out of the way as it is near the airport but nothing is far in Lubbock. Do yourself a favor.

Eric G.

Yelp
Great food and service, huge portions for the little price they charge. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Alexis P.

Yelp
They were very busy, j would recommend calling in your order if you're in a rush in the morning. We stopped on our way to work for some breakfast burritos. They were alright, the salsa really made it. I would have liked a larger tortilla since it was falling open and was structurally unsound.
google avatar

Amy P.

Yelp
Great, friendly service and still the absolute BEST queso in town. Ordered a burger/fries on last visit and it did not disappoint! My new favorite burger in town. Love their cheese enchiladas too. Plan to put this back on a regular rotation!
google avatar

Greg L.

Yelp
Tuesday is all you care to eat tacos. They used to bring three tacos at a time, but on the last visit they brought four. I have eaten six tacos before, but on the last visit I only ate the four. They stop serving lunch at 2 PM, so plan accordingly. 7 PM is a little late for dinner for me, but they do have live music on Tuesday evenings. All you can eat tacos is also Tuesday evening.

Gay Attebury A.

Yelp
Great meal. Just like Mama made. Unfriendly service Old hard rice had been sitting in the pan all day Brown lemons that the lady sassed, "She just cut them today." No 2 min check. Come ask me 2 minutes after you put my plate down if everything is good and do I need anything? Why the hell are you wearing gloves spreading germs everywhere? If you are going to wear gloves, change them between each task, like we do in healthcare.

Yelp
Until today I didn't know this existed -- which makes me a little sad because I thought I knew ALL of the out of the way places. In a nut shell: The food was good, the service was slow. I'm not blaming Mi Taco Village entirely because we got there in the middle of the lunch rush. Of the dozen or so tables, we took the last one. I think that there were a total of two empty chairs in the entire restaurant, so it was hoping. There were two waitress who were working there asses off to try and keep up with the food, customers, and register but they were falling behind. And honestly, I'm glad they were because that shows me that others know this place is a keeper and will be 'our' little secret. By my guess, this is the only restaurant for about 9 miles in any direction so 'little secret' might not be accurate enough. The chips that they gave us were very good but the salsa could have been a little more potent. A chip refill never came because of the rush but we were given a pretty large pile to start with. I can't explain why, but I ordered a cheese burger at a Mexican restaurant and it was very good... perfectly greasy and tasty. I enjoyed my visit because it's a different kind of place. I will definitely be going back and as I learn how to work the crowd to my favor Mi Taco Village will likely be gaining an extra star from me.

Yelp
I was pleased with the service and the speed of the food coming out! It was BYOB, there's a Love's gas station right across the street so you can grab something to drink and walk back. When I went there was live music on Friday. Warning, it's a very small place so get there early on a weekend.

Levi L.

Yelp
By far one of the best burritos I have ever had. I ordered a green and a red burrito. The green is green chili quest with carne asada. The red is like an enchilada sauce with carne Asada. Freaking amazing. Thank you

Yelp
We stayed a week in Lubbock at a RV park around the corner from Mi Taco Village. This restaurant looks like a dump from the outside but is clean inside and has great food and great service. This restaurant was packed with locals at lunch, when we arrived there was only 2 tables left. We first had lunch at this spot and received so much food we both had left overs for dinner. They also offer an all you can eat taco special at lunch for $7.99, we were told someone ate 22 taco's. We liked this place so much we went back for breakfast and dinner on different occasions and the food and service was just as good as the first time. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Abby H.

Yelp
The food is always phenomenal, only reason for more than one star! Service is usually less than. Called in an order, waited over an hour for our food to be ready. The order was incorrect, maybe half the food we ordered was included. Called to see what had happened and was met with an extremely unfriendly response. She then went on to argue about what I had ordered. Also charged us an obscene amount for chips and queso, nearly $15!!!! More than the entire rest of our meal combined. Lubbock lost a gem when Durango's closed, very disappointed this is all that we are left with.

Yelp
Omg! The best breakfast tacos in Lubbock. I had the chorizo egg and cheese and my friend had the beef and egg. Generous portions, very filling and fresh salsa! So yummy and can't wait to go back.

Serena G.

Yelp
This little restaurant has great food. The burritos are delicious, seasoned just right and stuffed with whatever you order. I've had chicken. egg and cheese and egg, bean and cheese. Both made me full and tasted great. They're hot sauce is also amazing. For lunch or dinner, I recommend the chicken tostadas. So, so good! The prices are right for the meal you get.

Yelp
We gave it a shot, Seriously the worst meal I have ever paid for. It is a joke to call this mexican food. I have had better mexican food in a t.v. dinner. They missed in every way. Someone call Gordon Ramsey. The beans were not seasoned at all, they had no salt, no pepper, nothing! The taco shell was soggy, greasy and burnt at the same time. The enchiladas tasted like ramen noodle MSG. The Carne guisada was dry! I am a chili relleno connoisseur and theirs was one of the worst I've tried. The batter was a thick and soggy eggy mess.-Reminiscent of Pancho's. Disgusting. If they are not paying enough attention to send out beans on every plate that are completely unseasoned, what attention are they giving to food sanitation?! Eat here while you can because, mark my words, if they keep serving this slop they will be shut down soon! And for those of y'all that claim this is good food, I feel sorry for you.

Yelp
Friday night dinner around 7:45 PM, one other car in the parking lot. Music by a three piece group was good but not enough to make up for this poor experience. Salsa was not as favorable as in the past. This is the second time we've been here that they've run out of chili rellenos, one of the main items in their limited menu. No excuse for such poor kitchen management. I would rather see you freeze or throw out a half dozen unsold rellanos than loose customers. The queso dip was about as good as it's ever been. It just seems like overall, this place has lost its charm and good authentic flavor. Too many choices in the Lubbock area to make the drive out to the airport area to be this disappointed. I wish you luck but you've lost our business for good.

Amanda B.

Yelp
DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! I wish I could do a negative rating for this place. The ladies in there didn't give a s**t about us. There were three groups of people one being a party of six that were served their food before us. And two of them had already ate and left before we got our food. When we complained to the woman that our food was super greasy and not even good. She was snobby saying the food is great here. We couldn't even eat hardly any of the food without getting a stomach ache. And then to top it off they over charged us on our card and automatically took a tip off the card which is not what she told us. And they charged us a guac salad for 4$ when it was only supposed to be 1.50. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!

Parker O.

Yelp
I came into Lubbock with only a few hours to stop and had been recommended that I try Mi Taco Village. Mi Taco Village is a hidden gem within Lubbock. The food was delicious and served quickly, the staff was very kind and made sure that my drinks never ran empty. Overall, I would recommend Mi Taco Village to anyone in the Lubbock area.

Yelp
We've been traveling all day with our 9 and 2 year old, from the McAllen area. So needless to say everyone was beat, and starved! We decided to stop here and the food was great and we loved the live music! Even our very MOODY 2 year old loved the place and was on the floor dancing to the music. Thanks for the great experience.

Dani M.

Yelp
Went for Taco Tuesday it was so busy, but the wait wasn't that bad. Tacos were great, tasty, fresh and hot! Service was excellent, talk about hustle! One of my table companions (shared a table with 3 strangers, nice people!) said he usually got a burger. They looked awesome and I'm trying one of those next time!

Yelp
Remember the Taco Village on 3rd Street? Well, the son of the owner is here now. The same great food, wobbly tables, strange decor, old friends, old menu, and terrible service are moved to this location. Did I mention the food is still wonderful? This is an old Lubbock tradition restaurant. Go for the food, the friends and at times -- the live music. No one will ever go for the decor or the service, but that's one of the things that makes it what it is.....

Yelp
Went there as I had some work on the north side of town today. First time and you can tell the food is prepared from scratch. Excellent sauces and homemade taste to the enchilada's and taco. It is true Tex Mex , nothing fancy nothing gourmet but just great taste. Will be back.

A A.

Yelp
The food here wasn't bad but I will say that it is overpriced. No matter how many times I calculated the total, I couldn't figure out how we paid almost $60 on four plates of food and four drinks. We didn't order anything extra other than our plates of food. The only thing that I could figure is that we were charged about $4 per drink and for the chips and salsa as well. I can't say that our plates were loaded because they were just simple plates of food, nothing to brag about. I don't know if I would ever go back, but if I do, I will order my plate to go and nothing more.

Aaron J.

Yelp
Great food, great entertainment. It was a nice feel after an ALL day travel across state with our kids and family of 10 . Food came out fast for the size of party we brought . Highly recommend!

Kate A.

Yelp
I absolutely love mi taco village! Great food at incredibly reasonable prices! I had the chille rellenos (which were amazing) and my boyfriend had the carne guisada burrito which was huge, delicious, and inexpensive. The service isn't the greatest but all wait staff has been friendly. I highly recommend this hole-in-the-wall place to everyone!

Gail N.

Yelp
Taco Village...now Mi Taco Village...is excellent! Super food...just like the 3rd St location back in the day. On our first visit today our table had everything from appetizers to dessert & each item was wonderful! Servings were large, too. Service was good. The recipes are a family tradition & they still thrive! Well worth the drive...highly recommend!
