Mia's Country Van - Local Fish & Chips

The fish and chips is good and should be recommended, the fish fried was made with a special way and you need to try. Fish is fresh. But it was only open at 12:00 to 16:00, and close on Friday. By the way the shop owner is really friendly and kind for everyone, he helped us to solve the problem of our car battery in the rainy weather, the food and kindness are remarkable experience in my trip. Thank you so much!

This was some of the best fish and chips I’ve had in my life! Light and perfectly crispy batter, fresh fish caught in the last day cooked perfectly tender, and an array of sauces and homemade salts. So delicious!

EXTRAORDINARY. This wonderful van serves the best fish and chips I ever had. They used local fresh fish and an amazing batter to make it crunchy and delicious. It is served with fried chips. It was an incredible meal after 6 days trekking. I can’t wait to come back THANK YOU

A friend who lives in Reykjavik recommended Mia's and described it as serving the best fish and chips he ever had in his life - I'm pretty sure he under sold this place because it exceeds all expectations! The co-owner, Stephán, is fantastic and let us know all fish is brought in fresh every morning from a nearby fish monger. While the specific type of fish may vary, he only serves Nordic white fish of the highest quality. I love everything about this place and highly recommend it as a must-stop along the Ring!

The best fish & chips I’ve ever had! It’s located right at the start of the little road that leads to the Skógafoss parking lot. If you’re at Skogafoss for lunchtime, you must eat here! If not for the amazing food, then for the kind and sincere service. The owner serves with his heart… he was so sweet and made sure we had everything we needed. His expression of gratitude alone makes me want to continue supporting his business!

Yummy fish and chips! You can choose between 2 sauces. The array of different salts and vinegar spray was interesting :) Good fish and nicely fried potato wedges. Friendly owner! Unfortunately it wss raining so we had to sit in our car but it would’ve been lovely to sit outside. Yum!

I'm not usually a fish eater. Actually. I usually stay away from fried fish, however this place cracks the mold and makes it so good to eat. You get two large pieces of fish breaded perfectly with a good helping of potato wedges on the side. Additionally, you can add some local salts and other flavors to your fish. You can pick between three different sauces for your dipping pleasure. The location is conveniently near skogafoss and a great spot to stop off when you are looking for some fresh fish. I would advise getting there early as fish can sell out and the more popular months of the year. Always check ahead to the Google listing here as sometimes they are closed for family holidays or severe weather. Sometimes they can also just run out of fish. Whenever we are in Iceland this is a must do. Absolutely must do. See you again in a few years!
