Mia's Country Van - Local Fish & Chips

Oh my goodness!!!! That was definitely worth it ! I’m not surprise this place has such a good reviews! Fish was so fresh and delicious,potatoes were crispy and with homemade sauce … just amazing Despite the large number of guests, the man who was working in food truck explained everything to everyone personally and was open to nice conversation. Thank you very much for a great end to our day of traveling around Iceland.

A MUST try if you’re in the area. Freshly fried fish and chips (or as us Americans call them, fries), nicely seasoned and the batter is very crispy, just the way I like it!! Very nice owner and there’s also some baskets of salts that he recommended me to try so I put on some variety of different salts on my fish and chips, which greatly enhanced the taste as well. I enjoyed it while standing with a view personally but there’s picnic tables next to the cart as well if you’d prefer to sit.

We had one of the best fish & chips of our lives here! Thanks to the sunny day, we were able to sit at the outdoor tables and enjoy our meal in the open air. The owner is very friendly and even offers a variety of different salts to sprinkle on your food. Absolutely 5/5!

This was some of the best fish and chips I’ve had in my life! Light and perfectly crispy batter, fresh fish caught in the last day cooked perfectly tender, and an array of sauces and homemade salts. So delicious!

EXTRAORDINARY. This wonderful van serves the best fish and chips I ever had. They used local fresh fish and an amazing batter to make it crunchy and delicious. It is served with fried chips. It was an incredible meal after 6 days trekking. I can’t wait to come back THANK YOU

The fish and chips is good and should be recommended, the fish fried was made with a special way and you need to try. Fish is fresh. But it was only open at 12:00 to 16:00, and close on Friday. By the way the shop owner is really friendly and kind for everyone, he helped us to solve the problem of our car battery in the rainy weather, the food and kindness are remarkable experience in my trip. Thank you so much!

I’ll be dreaming about these fish and chips for the rest of my life! Best I’ve ever had. Crispy and fresh, perfect flavor, sauces were amazing. 13/10! Right at the base of Skógafoss, so perfect for lunch after a hike! Stefan was the coolest. Hope you make it to northern Michigan, one day!

A friend who lives in Reykjavik recommended Mia's and described it as serving the best fish and chips he ever had in his life - I'm pretty sure he under sold this place because it exceeds all expectations! The co-owner, Stephán, is fantastic and let us know all fish is brought in fresh every morning from a nearby fish monger. While the specific type of fish may vary, he only serves Nordic white fish of the highest quality. I love everything about this place and highly recommend it as a must-stop along the Ring!
