We’ve eaten here before and overall had a pleasant experience, but this visit was a mix of highs and a few disappointments.
First and foremost, our server Sam was absolutely phenomenal. She was outgoing, sweet, funny, and incredibly attentive. She always made sure we had everything we needed, offered great food recommendations, and checked in on us throughout our meal. Her service truly stood out and made our evening enjoyable.
We ordered the Friday night surf and turf special. The steak was cooked to perfection, but unfortunately it was served cold. The lobster was cooked well but also came out cold, and the grilled shrimp was lukewarm. The truffle fries, however, were excellent—served hot in a cast iron dish, lightly crisp on the outside and airy and soft on the inside. The flavor was absolutely delicious. The asparagus was again cold and slightly overcooked, but still decent.
The soup we had at the beginning was a good temperature, and the garlic cheese bread was very tasty and served hot. I also ordered one of their seasonal mocktails, the White Christmas, and oh my goodness—it was SO good. I highly recommend it. We ordered coffee as well, which tasted good, but it cooled off very quickly in the small metal carafe left on the table. On a cold night, hot coffee cooling so fast was a bit disappointing. The cheesecake was good topped with a strawberry sauce, whipped cream, and white chocolate chips.
Despite the temperature issues with some of the food, we still had a nice evening thanks to the atmosphere and especially the exceptional service from Sam. Overall, we would still recommend giving Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse a try and hope for a better experience with food temperatures next time.
