I hate to broadcast. Then all the gentrified Echo Park-Silverlake-Los Feliz chazzerai hipster gente will begin to form lines 2X around the block to take advantage of indoor Michelangelo for Saturday-Sunday brunch, 10 AM-1PM. Service was super stellar both times. Mama Domenica, chef, insisted we eyeball the dessert menu after brunching on smoked salmon pizza. We caved. Went for sharing dark chocolate torte. Claire took way more torta home que yo. I came another Sunday w/GF Alexa.
Good time 2 arrive when there's plenty of on site parking: 11:30 AM. Also on Sunday there's ample street parking. If you pass a boutique store, Clover, you're twelve steps to entrance.
Domenica's son, Guiseppe, perdón, el Don, explained first time that Dad, from Salerno met Domenica, from Bari, en Italia. This darling couple migrated 2 Venezuela, where they had 3 children, Guiseppe, María y Antonio, then relocated to US. 20 years @ current location. Giuseppe does the books & works the room, & is very kind & friendly. María, the daughter also works here. She's sweet.
Son Antonio, the renaissance man, of course, creates the very cool art throughout. It's a beautiful space. Go there for brunch wkends only. Or go for romantic tryst lunch weekdays. Tell no one else. Or blow up phones raving how hot hot hot this place is. The food's beyond wonderful. If you love patio dining, there's that, también. Service is impecable. Be those cool people who support family-owned businesses.
Update: Brought Brentwood residents, my sister y mi cuñado 4 New Years Day early dinner experience. I'm impressed they drove all the way from almost Sta Mon 2 visit me. That's 3 freeways away. We shared cesare con shrimp, arabatini (ravioli-like) dumplings stuffed with corn. Of course smoked salmon pizza. Bubbly 4 me. Thank you server Devin, on-call Miguel. Special shout outs to both
brothers: on site, welcoming. Lots of gente filtering in here. Happy 2 see that.
