I took my mom here for her 79th birthday. She doesn't really try new foods, so having Argentinian food was very out of the box for her. I convinced her to try it and she agreed to go (but pretty reluctantly, LOL). The atmosphere was gorgeous and our server, Maha, was so informative about all the different sauces, which ones sounded like they would be in my mom's wheelhouse, and which she'd recommend with the dinner choice my mom made.
I was worried in the beginning bc she kept saying that the sweet plantains didn't look like sweet plantains (she's used to Filipino ones), but even though she kept questioning things, she kept eating things, so I was pretty sure we had a winner. We had the tuna amuse-bouche, the cheese bread (amazing), I had the lobster bisque, she did scallops with the lemon sauce, I did steak and a side of mushrooms, and we finished off with the peach bread pudding.
Asian moms are not good with compliments, so at the end when she said, "The food is actually pretty good here," I knew she loved it. She even asked Maha if there was one in Chicago (that was a no, unfortunately, bc if there was, she'd have asked me to book her next birthday party there). The next day she said again how the plantains don't look like sweet plantains (all while gobbling down the leftover plantains). We went a week ago and she's been asking me daily if I posted a review yet (she normally does NOT review things unless she wants to complain about them), so you basically can consider this place spectacular. If they built one in Chicago, she'd be a regular.
Also she wants me to let people know that Maha was a fantastic server. Ask for her when you go in, you won't be disappointed!
