"Mid City Yacht Club is always an excellent choice for the game. The bar has 16 flat screens, divided into four watching zones. Plus the food is darn good — crawfish boils during the season and delightful garlic parmesan fries and burgers all the time." - Eater Staff

Eh.... Not the best experience. Def a local spot and was recommended by Airbnb host. Overall every place in NOLA we have been to has had outstanding service...this is a bottom feeder for me. Not welcoming, food mediocre. Ordered a burger, bun was cold, cheese unmelted.

Google
Love this local dive! Not only do they have great bartenders who are super chill and down to earth, but they also have a decent beer selection on tap and bottle, AND most importantly, my favorite app of all time - mozzarella sticks. 3 per order (which is all you need) bc it’s literally a meal. They are GINORMOUS. And amazing. 5 stars all around. Love y’all 💖💖

Google
This place is definitely not for people of color!!! The Bartender who looks like she’s missed a ton a meals is very rude, looks like a drunk and she made every excuse not to serve me, even when all I asked for was a fruit punch, she refused to serve me, after serving 2 guys I was with (by the way they were white) I’m a African american lady. We were across the street at the park for a baseball game. She was rude Af and told me if I didn’t like it call the manager who was also just as rude and told me they have a right to refuse service to anyone. I didn’t do anything for them to refuse me service other than being BLACK! Of course I didn’t want to spend my money there after being treated so rude but was just curious about the reason Yea i will share this post on every platform i can think of. When you see her just turn around if you’re a person of color

I’m not sure if the name is supposed to be ironic because this isn’t near the water, but we enjoyed the Mid City Yacht Club in any case. We were looking for a place to enjoy the Super Bowl and it turned out to be a great place to catch the game. There were many separate places to watch. We chose the outdoor patio seating which was perfect. After the sun went down they brought out heat lamps and that was very comfortable. Our team didn’t win, but we can’t blame them for that. :) We had our fair share of drinks and a bunch of bar food. The garlic Parmesan fries has real fresh garlic which was a welcome delight. And the Mozzarella Logs are the biggest fried cheese snacks I’ve ever had. Overall, great place to go with friends for a special sporting event or just to hang out.

Google
Great place to grab a bite to eat. The food service is very professional. I loved watching this one guy run food holding the tray like a fine dining professional. The other night I had a pulled pork sando and pickle chips. Very good. Cheers y’all!

Google
My favorite bar in New Orleans. Coolest Neighborhood bar in NOLA. Amazing Food and Place to watch any Sports event. Especially when THE Cajun Buckeyes take over for THE Game. Love Y'all!!!

Google
Went in around 1030 last night and had some of the friendliest bartenders and patrons that I’ve experienced in a bar. I was with a buddy and his fiancé and after chatting with one of the locals for a little while, he ended up buying us around. I was really impressed with the back courtyard which was huge! It would be a great spot for a fantasy draft or great stop on a cool afternoon. I will definitely be back!

Had a really good time here watching the game, the staff is great and the food is delicious!!

Yelp
Go see my girl Vic She usually works nights but when I tell you her personality really makes your day better....no only does she make great drinks but I've been going there more often because of how much I enjoy being there when she's working. The food is so good and the Manager Missy is such a sweet soul, she's always working. Definitely a place to celebrate your birthday or special occasion! The prices are pretty good and they have THC seltzers!

Yelp
Very clean, friendly and comfortable atmosphere. We were there for a Buckeyes game and it was a great crowd. The food was excellent pub food.

Yelp
Standard neighborhood bar from what I could tell. I wanted french fries and to sit in public while catching up with a friend, and this checked those boxes. The small cheese fries is perfect to split between two people who have the munchies, and it was decently priced at under $5. Wish I could have tried the garlic parm fries and the debris fries, so I guess I have to come back some time! Beer was also cheap. The space is large with multiple different areas spread over inside and a big heated patio. The music was odd and kept getting progressively louder and changing songs in the middle... maybe TouchTunes was competing with something else idk. It finally got loud enough that it was our sign to leave. Overall, I was pleased and think it would be fun to have a group of friends here.

Yelp
I always enjoy myself at MCYC. There was a point in my life where this was my go to neighborhood spot. During that time I enjoyed a private event upstairs for a wedding party, took in the revitalized backyard space, played oodles of games in the boathouse and joined in on American Horror Story Screenings. Recently popped in and chatted up Victoria and bought a nice long sleeve for my future move up north. One request to Ben, MJ & Stefanie; could that little half step slab at the front door be painted? I took a spill leaving the other night. I totally forgot it was even there but some color or hazard striping would certainly help!

Yelp
Great place to grab a beer and hang out with your buddies. The food is also really good

Yelp
I had a catfish po boy and it was sooooo good was not expecting that. Very busy but on point. Great atmosphere

Yelp
This is a cool, welcoming corner neighborhood bar for locals and visitors with multiple areas to enjoy good drinks, food, and company. We were there when the Browns played, and the vibe was great. There were no strangers here.

Yelp
My friend and I was starving and wanted a quick bite to eat. This was 5 minutes away from City Park & everything was Chef's kiss. Shrimp tacos, Fried shrimp, Mozzarella logs are so huge and crispy 10/10. S/o to the Chef, Steve you made my day. & Thanks Henry for the great drinks. Will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Local corner bar vibe with no frills but super comfortable bar with outdoor seating options as well. One of the best veggie burgers I've had in a long time. They make it themselves and it's served with a tangy bbq sauce. The menu here is large and has a huge variety so I'll be curious to try some of their other options. The other item ordered was the catfish tacos which were good but not outstanding but solid. The one issue I had was the Abita Amber (on tap) was skunked, perhaps they need to clean their lines or their keg had gone bad but you could smell it was off right from the start and the taste to match. The bartender didn't remove it from my bill either. I'll be back to try some more food if I'm in the area but I think I'll stick to their bottled beer.

Yelp
Visited New Orleans this past weekend and wanted to watch the Rose Bowl where the Penn Staters in NOLA go. We ended up here to catch the afternoon games and stay for the PSU game. Met such nice locals! In addition, Kenneth was a fabulous bartender who constantly was checking to make sure we were ok. The food was delicious with good portions. Happy hour was all day until 5:30pm. Very clean restrooms. If you are looking for a "locals" spot / neighborhood bar head here! It's just a few blocks south of the St Patrick & Canal streetcar stop and easy to get to.

Yelp
Weekly trivia go-er here and I can't recommend MCYC enough if you are looking for a local New Orleans bar. We've tried a lot of trivia around the city and this is by far our favorite. It has a really unique third round twist of TV game show spoofs like Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune. Plus, a different alcohol sponsor gives away merch as prizes and free samples each week. The drinks are well priced and, perhaps unexpectedly for a neighborhood joint, the food is some of the best bar food I've found. I highly recommend the fried pickles and mozz logs. Bar tenders and servers are friendly and the place is an all around great vibe.

Yelp
This hidden bar in midcity have some of the best shrimp tacos that I have tasted at any bar. 3 big tacos for $12. The drinks are pretty nice here and they do have a courtyard if you want outside seating. One con is it's a pretty quiet bar is the add some of the latest music and raise the volume. You can hear everyone's conversations, thats hoe low the music is. I havent been at night, so maybe its better. I come back for the tacos

Yelp
First timer. My son and friends are regulars here. It's a nice place to sit in the backyard and have appetizers and drinks. Bar foods like hamburgers and chicken wings. Ilove places thAt have the old New Orleans backyard style. Brick sidewalks with pathways Nd lighted trees. The drinks are reasonable too. I am here for the good happy hour

Yelp
Cute spot with a really wonderful patio (with lots of cover to protect you from sun or from a light drizzle). Major things to note: solid beer selection, both on tap and canned. Cheap domestic beer (by the bucket if you want!). Also, good bar food. The mozzarella logs live up to their name - they're massive, and come 3 to an order. My table also ordered the Nachos which are HUGE. You could easily share the large order for 4 people. There are TVs outside and inside if you're looking for a place to catch a game. The inside of the bar also has pool and some other bar games, but it's not super well lit. All in all, though I wouldn't call sports bars "my scene" per se, it's clear that this is a pretty good one. Worth stopping by!

Yelp
My favorite place for a crawfish boil, although a little pricy compared to other places or just buying crawfish at a supermarket. The boils come with all the fix-ins and has awesome flavors. I've also ordered the boiled shrimp which was delicious. The reasons I love this place include the outdoor patio seating with warmers, sports TV's all over, and a great selection of draft beers. They make seasonal drinks like putting green food color in beers on St. Patrick's Day. A word of warning about the parking...beware parking next to the baseball field (self-explanatory). This is a great place to hangout though a little smaller than bayou beer/wine garden.

Yelp
Great Covid setup for Saints games in spite of limited seating. The food menu is short for there are some good things on the menu. Stick with the wings, which are huge, the garlic parm fries are the best thing on the menu and the crab balls are pretty good as well. The burger is not great and you would be better off with the tacos or even the roast beef sliders which I wish they made a poboy with because the meat is delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome blend between big sports bar and great neighborhood spot. One of the best of the best in the entire city. A must try place if you're in mid city.

Yelp
Looks so good I will try it soon I love burgers And wings are my favorite things to eat.

Yelp
Ambiance: 3 stars Service: 0 stars Food: 1 star Cost: Too damned high Ambiance: The inside is just a bar, but the back patio is pretty cool with a fountain, plenty of seating, etc. Service: It took over 30 minutes to get our food after placing our order. When the food came, it wasn't hot. It was challenging to get the staff's attention to ask a quick question, even though the place wasn't exactly packed (we went around noon on New Year's Day). There are NO pandemic protocols in place, despite the dramatic uptick of the new variant. The bartender smirked at us when we asked if we should show our vaccination status. not one person in the place was wearing a mask. Food: The cheese logs were tasty. The bbq chicken sandwich was soggy. The hamburger was undercooked and yet still dry, which is almost impressive. The Sriracha had turned rancid, indicated by the weirdly dark color and taste like spicy spinach. Cost: $40 for two sandwiches, cheese logs, a cup of water, and a cup of Coca-Cola. The food was not worth the money.

Yelp
Great place to relax, watch a game on the shady back patio, with some really good food actually! Highly recommend if in the area and looking for a casual spot.

Claire H.

Yelp
I've come here a few times on weeknights and I love this bar! The food is great and prices are good too. It's almost tucked away and the bartenders are all super inviting. It has a classic neighborhood feel to it but is super clean which is hard to find in this city! I think about the women's bathroom pretty often as it had to be something else before they placed those toilets there! I need pictures because it's unique for sure in the best way!
google avatar

Yelp
Just came for my 3rd visit and first time having a meal. Service is always amazing and I just had the Aji sandwich and it was absolutely delicious! Brittany and Victoria are great I think I found my regular spot in mid city!!

Yelp
Get a working bathroom door lock. They have them at the local hardware shops. Would appreciate it

Yelp
Cool LOCALS bar with awesome AC inside in addition to an outdoor patio. 16 taps and plenty more choices in the bottle and can. We got Yachtchos (nachos) as snack. Fresh made chips and habanero crema really hit the spot.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place I live in mid city and always come for the sliders, the mozzarella logs, and the reasonable liquor. I always bring people to this hidden gym the courtyard is amazing, game room amazing.

Yelp
My husband and I just landed late from Virginia this evening, saw online this place was open until 2am. Entered into the bar and sat down. The two bartenders at the bar didn't even bother to acknowledge us in anyway. Glanced our way a few times, but didn't say a word. We just left, we weren't welcomed.

David M.

Yelp
Disappointed with our overall experience. Called 30 minutes in advance to make sure they could play an nba game on one of their screens, and waited for over a quarter for them to try to get it on before ultimately deciding to leave. Our beers were flat, but the staff was nice.

Yelp
support local business during covid. this place has stellar food, and Kelly is a great hostess. We had a burger with bacon and bleu cheese. OMGoddess, and Meatloaf special. That came with killer green beans and mashed potatoes and gravy. Huge portion! The garlic and parm french fries were lovely and I got a beer while we waited for the food. outdoor seating in the back, and out front. Hand sanitizer on the counter, plenty of signage and great service. Thank you for becoming a new hot spot for me.

Yelp
Small bar, BIG menu! This place is around the corner from where my friend lives in Nola, so we come here for dinner or drinks to get the night started. First, I can not rave enough about the food. I was able to successfully eat my feelings at this place during Mardi Gras. The fish tacos were cooked perfectly and by far my fav. Nachos are too big for one person alone and the Ahi tuna melt my friend swears will change your life. Now my favorite part of the review.....drinks. Where to begin? This needs it's own paragraph. Infused liquor. That's right boys and girls. Flavored liquor shots and for your drinks. They have skittles, starbursts, JALAPEÑO tequila to name a few. If you have read my other reviews, you'll know what this means to me. Haha! From the perfect jalapeño infused margarita to the candy shots and friendly staff, this is the perfect neighborhood bar and so much more. Can't wait to go back for St. Paddy's day.

Yelp
My family and I were looking for a nice outdoor dining experience. Using yelp filter for outdoor seating, we discovered Mid-City Yacht Club. We were not disappointed, great seating area, the tables were safely apart. This is great place to enjoy the game away from home while practicing social distance
google avatar

Yelp
I love this little gem of a bar. Not to mention they are a pretty cool sponsor for my kickball league! I go here every Sunday before I start my kickball games & the staff is amazing! I love that this bar is dog friendly too!! I have not had the chance to try the food just yet, however, the cocktails are ALWAYS on point here! If you are ever in the Mid-City area do yourself a favor and head to the bar and go watch some kickball!!
google avatar

Matthew L.

Yelp
I have enjoyed the club in the past but never partaken it with my lady. The food was great as usual. I had the Mozzarella logs and a burger. It just felt good to be back in a bar having a drink. There are seats outside of the bar and in the patio area. Please give this place more business!
google avatar

Kendra K.

Yelp
Went here for last new year's Eve. Fair drink prices. Had so much fun talking to people outside in front of the bar, drinking and watching huge fireworks! And thanks to the gal who bought me a drink!!! Great time, great bar! Did not get back to my rental short term apt. Until after 2am!
google avatar

Yelp
This was a brief stop for a potty and bar break along our ghost tour route. This is a nice size bar located in a residential area where the locals hang out. Had a good vibe about it and everyone was really friendly (including the patrons). Would definitely be a great place to hang out for some food and drinks off the beaten path.

Haley P.

Yelp
Great neighborhood spot for B1G games! Good prices and food as well. They have a lot of TVs and projectors, so I definitely recommend catching a game here!
google avatar

Sheri C.

Yelp
I like this place. We went on a weeknight, when it was pretty chill. Ordered the boozy burger, and it did not disappoint. Fries were on point, burger cooked and flavored deliciously. Rum punch was great, too. Friends had the boozy burger and another had a salad, I think. Their drinks were strong, as should be - the experience: great. Definitely would return. Oh, it is not actually a yacht club; it's a bar/restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Bartender Shannon rocks! and she made me a kick a$$ negroni! Kill that audition babe!!!!
google avatar

Dani G.

Yelp
I may be a little biased but I loved this place! I stopped in because i was in New Orleans for Southern Decadence and I needed to see my Ohio State Buckeyes play. I heard this was an Ohio State bar so I stopped in and ended up staying for the whole game! Met some wonderful Cajun Buckeyes and enjoyed rounds of shots and ice cold beers with my new friends. Everyone was pleasant and attentive seeing as the bar was to capacity. I don't know what it's like when it's not a gameday but it's a whole lot of fun on gameday. Go Bucks!
google avatar

Louie G.

Yelp
Really good bar food. Cheap Happy Hour longnecks till 6 pm. Cold AC. We stopped in for a break from the heat. The fried catfish, burger, & debris fries were great. The beers were ice cold & only $2.50 a bottle. A nice afternoon respite.
google avatar

Maranda M.

Yelp
I eat here allllllll week long! My daughter loves their naked fries and I love their veggie burger! This is a great eatery even for vegan friendly people! I highly recommend you trying that burger, the bbq sauce makes it taste like a sweet savory piece of heaven! Thanks Ben for replying so quickly! I'll be there today!

Yelp
Great place to relax and have fun! My husband and I along with our dog Sadie, popped in on a Wednesday night just for a quick drink and apps after work ...so we thought... Ended up it was trivia night so the night turned into a full on trivia war that lasted way passed our bedtime. Thankfully the drinks were flowing, apps were tasty and Sadie was happy to get so much attention and play with her dog friends in the cute courtyard. This place definitely knows how to keep their customers! I will be back for sure! Originally, I gave MCYC 4 stars but since the owners seem passionate about their business and care about their customers, I think that deserves 5 stars!
google avatar

Keith C.

Yelp
Great spot for food and casual drinks. Bartenders are the perfect blend of accommodating and "don't give a shit". Cheese logs are bonkers. Courtyard is great for groups -- main bar is a little loud and can get overwhelmed by the jukebox.
google avatar

Bobby O.

Yelp
Fun place with great drinks, great bar food, a fun outdoor patio aaaaand it's pet friendly. One of my go tos when I'm in NOLA
google avatar

Victoria N.

Yelp
Benjamin, in response to your comment "maybe we will get 10 stars with your next review.".... The thing that kept my review to 4 stars is the girl behind the bar did NOT SMILE ONCE!! V. Normand

Yelp
Totally enjoyed this quite little duck off. I will definitely be going back. Good food, drinks and atmosphere!

Yelp
Happy Hour update. It's from open-6pm M-F. 2.25 domestic longnecks, 3.50 wells, 4.50 calls. Daily lunch specials. So far I haven't had any food that didn't hit the spot

Yelp
So this is one of my favorite neighborhood haunts. I live only three blocks away and it is, by far, my favorite place to watch Saints games. I also very much enjoy the patio and that they are dog friendly. The food is consistently delicious. I particularly enjoy the shrimp tacos and the fried chicken livers. Drinks are always good and the regular staff are always efficient. I'm amazed at how they handle such volume on game days! I have some friends who visit often, and it is their favorite place. The last time they visited, they brought along two additional friends. We had Saints tickets (noon game) and wanted to pop in for a quick brunch before heading downtown. According to Yelp, they open at 10 a.m. So we walked there and arrived at 9:50 a.m. We could see someone moving about inside and just waited until it was time to open. The employee (female) came out just after 10, keys in hand, unlocked the door, put the keys on a nearby picnic table and proceeded to put out sidewalk chairs, etc., without even acknowledging us. Finally, I asked what time they would be opening, as we understood it to be 10 a.m. She said no, that's not the time they open and she wasn't sure what time they would be opening that day. She said, "Maybe 11, or it could be 10:30, let me go ask." We also said we would be cool just sitting at the bar until t hey opened. She returned and said she was sorry but nothing was prepared and it would be 11 a.m. at the earliest. So, i get it. i really do. Sometimes, you just aren't ready and need a little more time. But, by all means, try to be as accommodating as you can. There was a group of 5 of us - four of whom were from out of town, two who absolutely adore the place and two who have never been. We were very disappointed. If the hours were wrong, they're wrong. But the lack of concern and the failure to make any accommodations, was disappointing to say the least. I will return because this has honestly not been the type of service I have come to know MCYC for. Hopefully, this note will cause management to take notice, work with the employee on how to best accommodate guests or handle such situations, and get with Yelp to make sure the hours are correct.

Yelp
My home away from home away from home. Mid-City Yacht Club is the host bar for Buckeye Alumni members. I found the listing on the OSU website as I was in NOLA for New Year's Day and wanted to watch the Buckeyes take on Notre Dame in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, I mean the Battlefrog Fiesta Bowl. Doesn't have quite the same ring to it. Unassuming and quiet from the outside, we were early and unsure whether this would be like our normal Ohio State watch bar experiences. We were one of the first groups there and I am glad this was the case because it got busy closer to game-time. This is a smaller bar with a boathouse room in the back. There is also an outdoor patio area which has a television for viewing while enjoying the nice weather. The front has tall tables with seating for four. There is bar seating around the only bar that had two bartenders the day we were there. There are a few TVs up in the front and a huge projection screen in the back. The bartenders here meant business. If you didn't know what you wanted then you'd better get out of the way. I don't know if it is always busy, but during an Ohio State bowl game I felt like there should be more people on staff. In order to get drinks you had to go to the crowded bar. Not that I need to be served at all times, it just felt like the addition of a few more people would have aided in more drinks bought and possibly more food. Back to the bartenders. I tried to order an O-bomb which is a staple Ohio State drink, at least at the bars I frequent. Apparently here there are two similar drinks that could be considered O-bombs. I stuttered and putzed through my response and was forcefully corrected and told I need to make a decision. I did and ran away with my bombs. I also had a bloody Mary here that had some good pickled green beans. I got a Cajun Buckeye mug from the alumni club that cost $20 with $1 refills. The last part of my experience here included the Yacht Club burger. This was a great burger that was stuffed with shrimp. MCYC was cool and I hope to be back sometime in the future.

Yelp
Best bar food in New Orleans. Great place to catch a game. Great neighborhood vibes. A really good looking guy hosts trivia on wednesdays...
