"Perched on the side of Charlotte’s Uptown, the Midnight has always looked the part, with its chrome exterior, red booths, retro lights, and a hint of red neon. The original location — near plenty of bars and across from a men’s club — made it a late-night favorite. The old location is now being redeveloped, so it’s moved to an even better location, right in the center of the city across from the Spectrum Center. The menu is still spot-on, with breakfast all hours (if you get the pecan Belgian waffle, ask for the warm honey butter) and all the classics, from chicken and waffles to 10 kinds of burgers." - Sara Akhavan, Kay West, Matt Lardie, Kathleen Purvis, Nikki Miller-Ka

So, we ended staying in for awhile and noticed this place earlier. 24hr spot was just what we needed late night. They had a pretty big menu and chicken fried steak which I have to try at most places. The mean came with two sides and a biscuit. I added hash brown. My wife had the fish and shrimp plate with Mac and cheese and green beans. Everything was seasoned well. We had a great time and took the 5 min walk back to our hotel satisfied. I'd def recommend going and having a try!

Loved this place! I'm always into the eclectic spots, and this is one of them! The vibe was cool and the food was even better! Nice portions... some of the best chicken tenders I've ever had, with a tasty ranch sauce, a side of some creamy grits and corned beef hash 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

First, the water is not city water, it’s actually tasty. Fast service, friendly staff. Very welcoming. The food is amazing. Highly recommend the grits. Chicken and waffles on point. Can’t say enough. We are here after a sporting event and we had no problems being seated and served. We will definitely come back.

I love the mom and pop feel of this dinner. Was able to be seated right away which was great. The food was fresh and the creamy grits…My God perfection. Now let me address my waitress, her name is Judah and she elevated our service by her knowledge of the menu and even gave suggestions. She was very attentive to the small details our service that I had to tip her well. Judah, my friend did I appreciate you. Will be back to soon!

Google
Classic style 24hr dinner complete with chrome. We managed to miss the Sunday morning rush. It's basic diner fare but good. My steak and eggs was good despite the steak being too thin to be cooked anything other than raw or well done. It was still tender and flavorful. The grits were creamy, potatoes crispy, eggs runny and the waffle was excellent. Service was on point, food came out quickly and hot after we took our time ordering.

Google
Food was delicious 10/10 recommend. Such a good environment and the people were so friendly. Food service was amazing. My sister was sick, she asked for fries and they were out within less than 10 minutes. Food was so good I cleaned the plate (I got shrimp dinner with double side of grits). This was my first time here and I will definitely be coming back.

Google
Nice little diner right by the stadium. Outstanding breakfast! The Hashbrowns were the best I have ever eaten, better than Waffle House. Over Easy Eggs were cooked to perfection. Chicken Fried Steak with Sausage Gravy was really good! Highly recommend! Went back the next day, same result outstanding breakfast, had the Corned Beef Hash this time, delicious! 3 days in a row, great breakfast and service plus easy free parking.

Google
This is a nice little dinner! Nothing overly exciting about it, just good comfort foods. VERY robust menu for all appetites. Our server was a tad lethargic for a busy Saturday at noon. Our food was actually pretty good. We looked at several other plates that were plated very well. We would certainly come back, but it's not necessary since there are tons of options. Chicken wings were gold, crispy and flaky very impressed with those. The waffles and pancakes were fluffy and hot. Definitely liked the waffle, seemed like it had its own sweetness to it. Downtown wasnt terribly busy for a Saturday but the company managing the parking lot actually sent out someone to check paid parking tags. For the first time in years I saw this guy was walking car to car printing tickets for a third party ParkMobile lot. So I encourage anyone to pay it. Shame on them for only having two options 2hrs or 10hr parking prices. The location of the Midnight diner is probably bananas on game and event nights so plan accordingly. It's across the street from the Spectrum Center.

Yelp
First time eating here. Great food. I love me a diner that's got a retro feel to it. What's even better is the food that goes with. I had the buttermilk pancakes and they were very tasty. Light, fluffy and flavorful, just how they should be. I'm definitely coming back to their establishment next time that I am in Charlotte.

Chad W.

Yelp
This diner in Charlotte is very nostalgic and vintage looking. Now l came at 7:15 am so they were not busy yet. Been here for a few days for work and I've seen lines of people waiting to get in. So I definitely picked the right time to come. Feel like it took a minute for my server to warm up to me. But in the end she was smiling and nice. Ordered 2 eggs, hashbrowns, and 2 shortcakes. The pancakes were delicious! Me eggs were cooked perfectly. The hashbrowns had to much oily butter for my liking. The top crispy parts were great but the underneath was greasy. Coffee was great for a diner. Not bitter or burnt flavored. Cool little spot!

Yelp
Very cool looking diner. I'm sure it would've been a better experience if we had an attentive & nice server. Autumn focused on a table full of men, more than us. Other people brought out our food and checked on us, and got us refills while she did nothing. It was 5 of us, so of course we needed things individually. When we brought it to her attention, she could care less. She also quickly took food from the table which then dropped on our shoes. As far as the food, the pancakes were boxed and not homemade. You can tell by the taste, they mix it with bisquik or something. I prefer cheddar on my eggs, but they only had American. Makes them taste cheap since it's plastic cheese. They also put it on my hash browns which were homemade, but flavorless; even asking for it loaded, I still had to add salt & pepper. Overall, it was just a very bland basic breakfast, nothing special or noticeable. My husband got the burger which he stated was not bad. Maybe the French toast, lunch or dinner options are better. I don't know. But I am in no rush to come back to try it again lol. To be a CLT staple, but to make the food taste so cheap & flavorless is crazy, especially since it's one of the only places open so late. I just expected so much better. Parking is good but if it's packed it can be hard to find a spot but usually people are in an out so you should be able to wait 10 mins to get a spot someone is pulling out of. Same thing with the wait in the line, it shouldn't be much of a wait. All parties must be in attendance to get sat. If you are visiting Charlotte & want good breakfast, I would prefer Famous Toastery, Easy Like Sunday, Tupelo Honey, or Eddie's Place. Sadly even ihop & Waffle House is better.

Ike N.

Yelp
They food was good, but nothing too crazy compared to the average diner. The service wasn't good either. We got sat immediately but it took so long for anyone to come ask us for drinks/take our order. While we were eating, we scarcely saw our waiter and had to wait a pretty long time to get refills. I expected a lot more, especially for how expensive the food is compared to other diners.

Armistead J.

Yelp
Really great diner with a cool look and music. It was clean and pretty good packed. Service was attentive and supportive. Food was delicious and fresh. All excellent. And good pricing. Good parking in the front. When in charlotte this place is a must try .

Yolanda W.

Yelp
Midnight Diner is always a good time. Even though they changed locations from what was a Charlotte landmark to Trade Street. It's still easy to find. Great vibe inside with friendly and attentive staff. Great music. Music and food equal a good time.Pay close attention to parking, or you will be towed. Signs are very clear about parking. Scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, and pecan pancakes were very good. No complaints as the waitress went above and beyond. Checked on us frequently. It's diner food, not fancy, just good old-fashioned cooking.

Rachel B.

Yelp
It was hot in Midnight Diner - But the experience was a top notch 5!!!! A little heat never hurt anyone! If it hadn't been raining they did have outdoor seating options. My eating companion and I ate at the bar and I am telling you this was the most authentic and down to earth experience of my visit to North Carolina. The servers, food options, and retro elements make this place exceptional! I ordered chicken and a waffle with a half sweet / half unsweet tea to go. Super good! I highly recommend Midnight Diner!!! It's a must!! Most of downtown Charlotte is full of hipster style pubs and 20 somethings. BUT, Midnight Diner is a place for the rest of us!!!! Visit!!!

Lyneisha T.

Yelp
Haven't been in North Carolina in years but this was a must have. I had the shrimp in grits and my hubby had Mac & cheese fish and collard greens. Welp I have to say the food was average and I feel as though it's not as authentic as it was before . Sadly this place is losing its touch. The green was flavorless and the Mac and cheese just was off to me . Here a few pictures of our meal . The shrimp and grits were creamy and on point. Pretty busy around lunchtime , and the staff were very busy trying to keep up with.

Ashley F.

Yelp
I've been here before but it has been a couple of years. My husband and I were stopping to Charlotte and decided to have a quick breakfast on the way home. There was a short 15 minute was at around 9:30 but it went by quickly and the hostess was very friendly and managed the people well. Once inside I ordered the chicken and the waffles and my husband ordered the bubba which is a biscuit dish with eggs and gravy on the biscuit. My husband liked the biscuit and gravy dish overall and had no complaints although he stated he had had better. The hash browns were top tier, fresh and a great sized portion. The chicken and waffles is where it went downhill for me. The chicken tasted exactly like Smithfield's fast food chicken. Although it is supposed to be a home made marinaded chicken and freshly fried, it was dull and lackluster. It wasn't very hot and it didn't have that fresh chicken shine. I was disappointed. The waffle was okay, it had a nice sweet flavor to it, but again I've had better. Maybe I'm a little spoiled by the offerings in my city that I live in but it was just an okay meal for me. The waitress at the table was nice and fast although it did take me asking three times to get lemon with my tea. The restaurant is loud but cute. It had a few rough patches, I'm not sure how old it is but overall it was nice. I think I will need a new breakfast place in Charlotte from now on as this place isn't as good as I remember but I would 100% recommend for the hash browns.

Britanny T.

Yelp
This was the most difficulties I've had coming here ever and I've been coming for over 6 years...it wasn't even late...no excuse, not busy not a lot of filled tables... The server with red yarn in her hair was ours, large table...had every issue with her service - took an exceptionally long while to take our order, had an attitude while taking it...drinks were wrong once ordered...the shrimp in my shrimp and grits were so overcooked i could use them as tiny basket balls , extremely rubbery...when I informed the waitress she looked at it and said sorry that's how we make it...no ma'am...I've had it every time I'm in the city for 6 years that is false...the cheesecake was extremely frozen and even the coffee was burnt...not a great night- I need a new spot in charlotte when I'm in town it seems..sad.

Jon L.

Yelp
The main things about this diner: It's 24 X 7 operation The menu is extensive with something for everyone It's great location central to Uptown CLT The food quality is exceptional The service is consistently professional There is free on-site parking I stopped in for lunch today with my out of town friends, Mark & Sonia. Mark had the breakfast and Sonia had an omelet with hash browns and I had the grilled shrimp tacos. Everyone was more than pleased with their food. They are doing construction on their on-site out door patio. Hopeful they will have some umbrellas as well

Keith H.

Yelp
NO ALCOHOL even though listed on the menu!!! They said you have to go to their sister diner the Redeye Diner nearby for drinks That made me very upset because I wanted a cold brew!!!! They apologized and didn't understand why it's listed on menu also... They had rap music playing when I arrived, later someone must've turned on the classic 50s music which I enjoyed so much more! Otherwise, their food was fantastic! I had the fish platter, their coleslaw and fried fish and tartar sauce were fantastic. Other people in my group loved their meals as well. Food five-stars, drinks one star!!

Tondra H.

Yelp
Over the last few years I've dined at Midnight Diner several times. I recently had an opportunity to grab a weekday lunch at their new downtown location with my cousin. Fortunately for us, there was no wait and the service was excellent. Friendly vibes from wall to wall. My cousin ordered the steak and eggs and was thoroughly satisfied. I've ordered the chicken and waffles a few times, and they're amazing. But nothing, absolutely nothing, compares to the Shrimp & Grits. Bubba Gump would be so, so proud. Who knew that pan-seared shrimp, veggies, and homemade creole sauce could = culinary perfection? And the buttermilk biscuit? It's always just as perfect as the dish. I've been to my fair share of high-end brunch spots, but NONE of their versions can hold a candle to the shrimp and grits at this diner. If you haven't tried theirs yet, quit stalling! You won't regret it.

Yelp
I ended up here because it is located across the street from the Spectrum Center and after a concert and a few bars under my belt it was time for a midnight burger. At about 1AM there was a line out front with two security guards at the door. There were also two police officers parked on the sidewalk in front. The wait was about 45 minutes. Once inside it was a bustling diner with lots of staff. We opted to sit at the bar to get seated sooner. I ordered the Mexican cheeseburger which had an entire layer of jalapeños under the burger patty and a slice of pepper jack cheese on top. It was quite tasty. I also had a side of onion rings on the side which appeared to be freshly breaded and fried. Great diner food for a late night meal.

Jordan B.

Yelp
It's always a ridiculously long line you would think as long as they've been in business they would have a few more tables to the establishment or hire people who are nice and have the common sense to ask if you need assistance especially if you are just standing in front of me wondering when they are going to greet you the food is good but very overpriced I could like 33 breakfast to combat the price of one breakfast from their establishment

Winnie N.

Yelp
Breakfast was good, the whipped honey butter with my chicken and waffles but it over the top!

Ebo E.

Yelp
We flew into Charlotte for the ACC championship game and we're told from our hotel receptionist that you absolutely need to go to Midnight Diner and that there was usually a line out the door. She was right that it was super busy, the diner itself is very reminiscent of a 1930s mom and pop diner. The restaurant itself reminded me a lot of Waffle House. The inside was a bit chaotic, lots of folks there and organized chaos, however unlike a restaurant like Waffle House where you KNOW the food is going to be legit, it was not the same. The server forgot our owner multiple times and wasn't super attentive. The food however, was great. We got a black and blue burger, the picnic salad and fried shrimp. Definitely would order those again. This place gives me the Waffle House feel without the nostalgia.

Kel G.

Yelp
Order: shrimp + grits and chicken + waffle I'm not sure if this location has always been there but the midnight diner I knew was on South End. This is the first time I've been back to midnight diner. I tried the shrimp and grits because I heard it was bomb. Turns out, the rumors are true; the grits were nice, creamy and soft. No overly salted and paired well with the seasoned shrimp. They could have used better/bigger shrimp, they looked like the frozen ones from Walmart. Although the food was good the service was SLOW. Our server kept forgetting thing we requested and didn't bring them until the second or third reminder.

Myiah H.

Yelp
Try everything on the menu: you can't go wrong with anything here. This place is crowded and at night there is a bit of a wait. The servers work hard and try to get you in and out as quickly as possibly. Late night and brunch are great times to visit. The environment is like an authentic diner feel that includes a bar: I think they have a beer during specific hours. Give them a try, great food!

Catie N.

Yelp
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We were here from out of town for a conference and ate here everyday. We tried so many things on their menu and everything was DELICIOUS!!! The buffalo sauce and ranch are heavenly. We tried the fries, burgers, country fried steak, mashed potatoes, fried chicken, chicken tenders, French toast, and sliders. Again ALL were delicious and FULL of flavor. I'll be back for the ranch alone. I only got a pick of our last meal because we didn't even wait to take a picture of the ones prior. Don't hesitate. There is something for everyone!!

Lillian T.

Yelp
Midnight Diner is a Charlotte staple! Open 24/7 everyday! You can't go wrong morning or late night. I always get the shrimp and grits and whole wings with teriyaki sauce Top Tier!

Arthur R.

Yelp
The Diner has gone thru a great location change, I'm told management moved the building to its new location, a fantastic feat. Well after a grand move the quality of the food was kept. Good food and fast service and great tasting coconut layered cake!

Madison H.

Yelp
Right in the heart of uptown, this 50s style diner lives up to its reputation. Our server, Kei, was awesome. The vibes from the other employees were upbeat, cohesive, and very friendly throughout the busy atmosphere. And we did not leave hungry! Huge menu filled with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options to please everyone. Can't wait to return!

Mike Z.

Yelp
Great place for a quick and delicious breakfast that's also very affordable. A+ for service!

Macy T.

Yelp
Convenient location to Spectrum Center. Quick and friendly service with tasty food. Excited to come back to more events here to be able to stop into the Midnight Diner for more meals. Our waiter John Smith was very attentive and provided great service to us with a big smile on his face and a wonderful attitude. The diner itself is super cute and nostalgic. We had a mix of breakfast and dinner foods. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Definitely can't wait to come back to try more off the menu. They have a large dining area and also offer free parking which is nice.

Chelsea D.

Yelp
The food is always great here. I love getting the shrimp and grits it's the best in town! They are very creamy and flavorful. The chicken and waffles are amazing too. Crispy chicken and fresh waffles! The service is okay for a small diner and the aesthetic is cute since it's a diner. I recommend this place for breakfast or late night snacks.

Chelsea C.

Yelp
We went at 8:30 on a Friday morning and it was not particularly busy. The service was prompt and the coffee was good. I thought the prices were a little steep for cold hash browns, 2 undercooked eggs three slices of bacon and grits. The grits were the best part. Well seasoned and creamy. 50$ for two breakfasts and 2 cups of coffee. We did enjoy the throwback diner feel. And the staff seemed to be enjoying what they do.

Joan R.

Yelp
We were nearby so we ordered the family style fried chicken with 2 sides, coleslaw and onion rings. The chicken was fried to order and we were told it would be about 15 minutes to prepare. Worth the wait, all the chicken parts were juicy, moist and tender. The huge onion rings so good and the creamy fresh coleslaw so good as well; plus large fluffy buscuits. We couldn't eat it all so we had plenty to take home. Our waiter was very attentive and we certainly had a memorable meal. The price was reasonable abs we intend to stop by again when we are in the area.

Sue S.

Yelp
The first time I ate here I had the shrimp and grits which, evidently, they are famous for. I can see why. It is the best I've ever had. I love it because I avoid eating pork and so often shrimp and grits is made with bacon. This one is not. What makes it amazing is the creole sauce they drizzle on top. So good! The second time I went I thought, for about a nano second, of having something else on the menu but came to my senses and ordered the grits again. Why not? When you find something you love, stick with it right? This place is so charming and the staff are all super friendly and professional. I wish this place was in my neighborhood. That's the only mark against it as far as I'm concerned.

Sara G.

Yelp
This is the largest menu I've ever seen! Our waiter was a riot. hilarious! Issa vibe. Go check it out.

Paul R.

Yelp
Always a good place to go for good food, decent service and a nice ambiance. It was a beautiful day for some good diner food.

Suzanne S.

Yelp
Visited here for dessert last night and this is the cutest place! I'm told late at night the line is out the door and they even pat you down before entering the place. It was pretty tame when we went in, everyone totally friendly. This place is adorable on the inside. Looks like an old silver diner with red booths on the inside, everything feels clean and comfy. Desserts are all homemade and fantastic! I got the winner: Coconut Cake. It was enormous, too! We 3 could have easily shared it! My friends got banana pudding and the brownie with ice cream. Banana pudding was just ok, almost flavorless pudding, though. Brownie was as you'd expect, but nothing special. Service was great, very friendly and fast. We enjoyed our time here so much. I can't wait to go back to have a meal, I'm told their fried chicken is incredible!

Nicole H.

Yelp
Came here on New Years Day. It was extremely busy and about an hour wait as expected but the staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. The fried chicken is fried GREAT and the grits are super creamy! The biscuits are also AMAZINGGGG. I'd definitely come back here.

Shanna W.

Yelp
We came to NC for a conference. This looked like a unique spot to eat. The menu looked great online. Service was great but the food was not good at all!

Robert G.

Yelp
This place has the worst service ever I waited 45 minutes outside to be seated. My name wasn't even called. I had to go ask them..then to be seated inside and waited for an additional 40 minutes then to be served last why other people would be served i told the waiter that we've been waiting for our food for a while. She got really mad at us and said she has no control over the kitchen. That's when I waked out of this place the waiter name is Gigi I never write reviews on places, but this one had me so upset that I had to don't waste your time at this place

Krissy W.

Yelp
The food is always great from here. I do agree with other Yelpers about the mixed service for takeout vs dine in, but ultimately never had a huge issue. Their grits are some of my fav! The diner itself is so cool, with everything being in almost pristine vintage shape.

Frankye J.

Yelp
My Chicken & Waffles was perfect! My daughter's Shrimp & Grits were delicious but the shrimps were small. Good friendly customer service and vibes. I will return!

Celeste D.

Yelp
Everything here is good! The grits are my favorite thing on earth! Service is always great. The ambiance is a typical diner. Definitely a local favorite.

John A.

Yelp
Busy day and after working over 12 hours I decided not to cook but instead order food. I enjoyed my last visit there and they had a website that allowed me to order in advance. I ordered it then headed to the restaurant with plans to get home to eat and relax from the day. So I placed the order at 10:54 and it said it would be ready in 20 minutes about 11:15. So I arrived at 11:17 only to see a text that said the order was ready early at 11:11. Even though I would have preferred my food seating for a shorter time I was happy I may not have to wait to get my food. Boy was I wrong. I arrived to see the Hostess who explained to me I had to wait in line for my take-out order. Then decided to ask me my name to see if she could find my order. After looking around she said it was not there. I explained I got a text saying it was ready she said those texts are always wrong. So I continue waiting in line until it's finally my turn. I explained I ordered online and I gave her my name. At that point, she calls me a DoorDash order meaning their website is a front for DoorDash. Since she couldn't find me she sent me to the back of the line to wait for my order. After serving everyone before me again they then spent another 5 minutes (backs turned) to ignoring me. Then they asked me again for my name and this time they looked up my name on the computer. And the woman at the counter said we are looking it up and then ignored me. At midnight I started the process of seeking a refund for DoorDash and just going and cooking something because it couldn't take any longer just when I was about to leave the woman had said maybe 5 words to me all night asked my name again and handed me a bag of my food that was seating on the counter the whole time I was there. I don't know if this restaurant is attempting to win the award for the most unfriendly staff but I would have a hard time finding service staff that didn't care less. If you are a masaquist this may be the perfect place for you. Just do the takeout, and order it in person to get the full effect. Even though the process of getting the food that I paid in advance was so painful the food was slap your grandmother good almost every bite was better than the next, I asked for scrambled eggs and it was textbook perfect award-worthy. The stars I gave were only for the food and if you asked me if the food was worth all the pain of getting it I would say yes, but next time I will be prepared for the pain. The food is too good to tell you don't go just make sure you are ready for the pain of it. The last time I went (except for the amount of time it took to be seated) the service seemed great, this issue is just with the takeout. I probably would have been in and out of the restaurant quicker if I got seated instead of doing takeout.

Gwendolyn S.

Yelp
Holy moly guacamole...what an incredible experience!!! How about everything you can imagine in "the antics and craziness of late night people" all wrapped up in an awesome diner experience....SO MUCH FUN!!! Hahahaha.... The food was absolutely amazing!!! The coconut French toast is the best, I'm not exaggerating...it is the best French toast you will ever have!! Challah bread and toasted coconut...WOW!! The fried chicken was so good as well....juicy, even the white meat!! Sweet tea and fluffy biscuits too...WHAT A GREAT LATE NIGHT MEAL!!! Now the service was epic....colorful, fun, helpful and very nice!! Our waitress was a Brooklyn NY native with a great sense of humor and a very "sharp witted" personality!!! She recommended what would be the best "way" to order the variety of food we wanted to try. Very fast very thorough very helpful very knowledgeable and very FUN!! Thank you!!!! Ambiance....as I said before, "late night diner"....funny, interesting and very "colorful people" with a comfortable diner atmosphere!! Go for the food, enjoy the service and stay for the fun crowd around you....best way to describe our experience!!! We will be back soon....

Tina S.

Yelp
My husband and I had dinner here before a concert. This was our first time back here since they moved to new location. It seems they have free parking available. Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. This was a Tuesday so not very crowded but still loud with jukebox playing. I had fried chicken, broccoli, biscuit, Mac and cheese. My husband had fire crackers chicken sandwich and onion rings. My chicken and broccoli was cooked perfectly. The Mac and cheese was okay. My husband's sandwich needed extra seasoning and the onion rings were okay. I also got death by chocolate cake for dessert to go. It was delicious and large slice. We will go back but only during a slow period to much of a mad house on the weekends.

Taylor D.

Yelp
Going to be really honest. I had to create a yelp account to just write a review on the experience me, my wife, and my sister in law had here. From the beginning to the end, i don't know what it was but we just felt super unwelcome here. Felt like the waiters / waitresses was just given us dirty looks and we couldn't understand why. I know some guests deserve the hate, like they were being mean to the staff or something. But honestly, we didn't say anything mean to anyone and tried to be really friendly to our waitress but even so we could see the staff just eyeballing us. We still don't even understand it. Even when they dropped the food / water to us, it was kinda like " here " and just walked off. Felt personal you know? Like take your stuff and get out vibe. I mean the food was decent reason why I'm given it a 2 / 5 but man I gotta say it was probably the worst hospitality we got while staying in Charlotte.

Sarah S.

Yelp
There was a bit of a wait when we arrived, but this place ended up being worth every extra minute we sat outside waiting. I had originally wanted to the 1/4 chicken dark, but our waiter informed me it was going to take a while (thank goodness because I needed to eat sooner than later). So I got the Firecracker Chicken Sandwich. I put some buffalo sauce on it to add a little heat. The chicken was perfect and juicy. Hubs got the hamburger steak, which was pretty good. He said the collards were cooked perfectly, we shared the potato salad and it was great tasting. I did not try his biscuit, but he swears it was the best biscuit he's ever had in his life. Little one got the BLT and she devoured it. We also all shared the red velvet cake. O. M. G. The red velvet cake. I do not eat sweats and I couldn't stop eating this!! So delicious. Now. I usually get shrimp and grits when I see it on the menu, but for some reason I didn't today. Our server (who was amazing, by the way, wish I had gotten his name) told us we need to come back to try the shrimp and grits. And that they have the best grits! He gave us each a sample of the grits. And oh. My. Goodness. They were DELICIOUS. I seriously am considering returning this evening for dinner so I can have more. Don't be like me. ORDER THE GRITS when you come here. You will not be disappointed. Note: not sure about a military discount, as we didn't ask. I did not get any pics because we were so hungry and I just dove in when it arrived.

Yelp
Everything is amazing! The fried chicken, collard greens and macaroni and cheese was so good. Also, the French toast, eggs and turkey sausage are on point.

Yelp
I enjoyed my meal of fried chicken wings, pancakes, grits and eggs. Latoya was an excellent server, friendly and attentive. The food was very good and price reasonable. It was crowded and parking was difficult. I will come again!

Yelp
Very popular place with a vast menu of southern comfort treats and great breakfast options. I had the chicken fried steak with sausage gravy and hash brown and eggs they were tasty. They are open 24/7 which is a great option. Service was good and they were really busy when we were there.

Yelp
Setting - arrived around 9:45 on a chilly January morning. The place was busy but we were seated right away. By 10:00 the line was starting to form and when we left at 10:45 the wait was roughly 20 minutes. Ambience - Classic diner style, red and silver, very clean and modernized. The staff were friendly and efficient. While its small and busy we we never distracted by the noise. Booth that we sat in was comfortable. Food - went for breakfast, not disappointed. The biscuits are epic. Maybe the best I've ever had. Large, light and flaky with lots of just biscuit flavor. Over easy eggs were done perfectly with a runny yolk and cooked whites. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Everything seasoned well. Daughter got biscuits and gravy - good gravy with large bits of sausage. Husband got corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and wheat toast. The toast was thick, the scrambled eggs fluffy, not runny. The corned beef hash was canned but they did a nice job of crisping it up, flavor was good. Service - excellent. Hostess was friendly. Server was friendly and efficient. Never ran out of coffee but didn't over service. Order came out perfectly cooked in less than 10 minutes. Operation is overall well run. lol

Yelp
I looooooooooove this place!!! I'd first heard and visited in 2013 for a friend's celebration. Since then it became a staple of mine. I've visited countless times and recommend it every time I have guest in town. Depending on what I have a taste for I get shrimp and grits or chicken and waffles (coconut crunch). I have always received great service although I have heard horror stories from others who have visited. The interior is retro 1950s style. If you are considering visiting, do it!!

Yelp
Came here after my friend's wedding. Place was packed and i see why. It has old school dinner vibes. Our waitress was so patient and kind. Everything my party had was so good. I wish i could have taken the food back to New York. Best dinner food i have had in a while. Tip : try the brownie and ice cream. You won't regret it.
