It's a great place to watch a game or hangout with friends. They have a small heated and covered patio as well as bar seating and pub tables. The the pizza is tasty, not - greasy, and tasty fresh! We had churros for dessert and they were more of a crunchy, toasty cinnamon roll than a churro, but tasty. The service was quick, staff was friendly, and I overall chill vibes. I'd definitely come again. 👍🏿

Out of tower here, I stumbled upon this place just down the road from the hotel that I’m staying at. The restaurant is great. Cool place. It has more of a hipster atmosphere (people). with dark romantic lighting. I’ve been to variations of these places. They are lounge first and have been let down by the pizza when you get home. The pizza is outstanding! I got to meet one of guys that owns and runs the place. I knew just by his welcoming tone and the passion for service, that he’s glad you found it. I could feel his energy and gratitude for your patronage and business. I already forgot the young man’s name I’m talking about haha. Great pie for Nashville. All the best pal. God bless.

The pizza is great, the establishment is cozy. What I do not appreciate is the fact you can’t add toppings to slices. I understand if they can’t, but what is preventing a little toss of a veggie or meat on a slice? I’ll even pay the difference!

This is a homey neighborhood hole-in-the-wall bar and eats. The pizza is really good if you like it thin, so I had to rave about it in a review. My husband has been getting pizza there for a while, but it was the first time I dined in. It’s a small bar area with tables. They have an enclosed outdoor add-on that larger parties were eating in, but we were inside at a high table. My daughter loves the pizza with “hot honey”. It was delicious. I had the vegetarian. The bar serves everything, and also has an alcoholic hot chocolate machine. That was really good! Behind the bar is a shuffleboard of all things. We play for a while, mainly because it was not that crowded. It is a little hard to find. It is off the side of the road in a plaza type building, and the bar/restaurant had no sign on it. Strange, I know, but it is called Midnight Oil.

I had dinner here for the first time a few nights ago, and my experience was great! The atmosphere was perfect to catch up with a friend, and not feel rushed. Pizza was awesome, and the service exceeded my expectations! It was extremely affordable as well if that’s something you’re looking for!

I arrived here kind of later in the night and was nervous about it looking like a rowdy bar inside; however, once I entered there was a nice little table in the corner on the patio (by a super cute dog!). It was fun watching the livelihood from afar. I ordered one slice of the white pizza and one of the buffalo chicken, and three honey hot chicken skewers. Pros: - pizza was tasty. I liked the flavors and freshness of it all. Slices were large and easy to fold. Crust was cooked well. - service was super quick and friendly! - love that they allow doggos! - atmosphere was fun if you're into that sort of thing. - total price was only $15! - whole pizzas are large and cost probably less than a large at Pizza Hut so it's definitely affordable. Cons: - two slices weren't very filling. Overall, would return if I'm in the Nations and have a hankering for pizza, but will need to order more than two slices.

Listen. You don’t know me and that’s okay. But let me just say that I’m a HUGE pizza fanatic. I’m literally obsessed. There isn’t a lot of great pizza places that can really give you that New York feel in Tennessee. This place is right up there with it. The pizza slices our giant, floppy, cheesy and flavorful with that hot honey oil on top of the pepperonis. The pictures really doesn’t do justice to size. This place is worth the money and they have little chicken skewer appetizers that are to die for as well. There’s also a comedy club right near this place and Did I mention the bar? Go check out this quaint little place. It’s very Demure. ✨🖤

I’m glad Nicky’s was packed and we came here instead. Pizza is excellent, their other food and drinks also spot on. Good service, cool place to hangout. Will be back again for sure

Such a great chill spot in the nations! The sweet heat pizza never disappoints. The dog friendly porch is also a great feature. The staff is always friendly, though sometimes their service can be a tad slow. Overall, it is a great neighborhood spot for a slice of pizza.

The Pizza was wonderful, we ordered the three meats and were very happy with the pie. Very nice New York style pizza and some of the best in Nashville-- The service was wonderful and they made sure we were taken care of. It was a very great vibe with even better pizza, not the easiest place to find but that is my only knock on them 5/5

4.5 The Nations -- who saw that coming, right? When I decided to make the trek out west to check out a new* pizza spot, I had to take the time to gawk and grouse. Gawk at the amount of construction and new builds in the neighborhood. I didn't have that on my bingo card ten years ago. Grouse because of all the congestion, issues parking, etc. that comes along with that kind of rapid growth. Midnight Oil is a neighborhood spot. I'm sure it has plenty of patrons - like me- driving to check it out. But it gets more than enough business by locals. The Friday night I visited was packed to the brim. There were people a to e in every square inch of the dining room, bar and overflow area. I managed to push my way to the bar and was surprised** to find an amiable bartender at the other end. He seemed nonplussed by the heavy crowds. He was cheerful and engaging in the face of pure chaos. I was impressed. I'd done my research so I knew what I wanted. I ordered a slice (yep, you can order by the slice; that's worth a star in and of itself) of Sweet Heat, 3 Meat and Buffalo Chicken to go. The bartender took my order and told me it was 'solid.' Since it was to go (ie I was driving), he gave me a glass of water and told me to stay where I was. Despite the crowd and me taking up a place at the bar with water, he didn't push me aside. Kudos, sir. In an appropriate amount of time, my food was ready and he gave me the big box of my bounty. I wished him well and took off. Getting home, I took out a bottle of American Blonde ale from the fridge and got to work. The Sweet Heat was a delicious blend of sweet, savory and spicy courtesy of the sliced capicola, jalapeños and honey drizzle. The 3 Meat was packed with bacon, sausage and pepperoni. And the Buffalo Chicken had a BLEU CHEESE BASE and was topped with chicken, celery, bacon, and buffalo sauce. All three slices were huge and delicious. I could barely finished but I egged myself on. I totally understand why it was so packed. Midnight Oil is legit. It's Friday night. You know where to go. *It was new-ish when I visited. **Sad to say.

Can't believe we've driven by here hundreds of times and didn't know about it. Service is awesome. Biz let me sample the frozen peach jalapeño margarita prior to ordering. It is to die for! The Sweet Heat pizza is delicious! Happy new find!

Some of the best pizza in Nashville! I've eaten in the restaurant and have also gotten a pizza to-go, and every time is spot on. It's always quick and everyone is always attentive. you have to try the sweet heat!!!!!!!! The white pizza is also amazing! The prices are so rare for Nashville which makes it even better.

Stopped in on a Sunday night and this place was hopping! There is no sign on the outside of the building, but they obviously don't need one as it seems everyone already knows about this place. Although it was crowded, the food came out lightening fast. Our waiter was super nice and attentive. The place is small with a bar and plenty of TVs with a heated screened in patio. The Buffalo pizza had a perfect crust and was the perfect amount of Buffalo to ranch proportions which made it tasty without being too spicy. The cheese bread was super cheesy as well. The only negative I have is that the red sauce served with the cheese bread was refrigerated cold and would have been better served warm. Overall I would definitely recommend stopping in if you are in the area.

I found this looking for something quick and easy. We had eaten out since we've been here trying different staples. This pizza and cheese bread did not disappoint. This spot was 3 mins from our airbnb. The parking was crazy we ended up parking on the side street. The staff was nice and the drinks were great . We tried to hurry up and finish before the game crowd.

I moved to the Nations just over a year ago and I am SO HAPPY to have found my go-to spot. Not only is their pizza amazing (I'm from CT so good pizza is hard to find) but the staff here is always so kind, friendly, and I always feel at home here. Their sweet heat and buffalo chicken pizza (you can get both by the slice too) are my favs!

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ordered food to go and the wait was brief. I got the pizza with honey drizzle--bomb! Also, the marinara sauce paired with the cheese bread is on point. So glad to see that I can order pizza by the slice instead of a whole pie.

This is one of our favorite places to eat in Nashville! There's rarely a wait, plenty of outdoor and bar seating, and they have a ton of TVs if you want to watch sports. Being able to order by the slice is HUGE - my favorite is the sweet heat. It's darker inside and can get kind of loud. The bathroom is unisex, but always clean. Great place to meet up with friends. Food comes quickly and servers have great recommendations

Got some quick slices to go--for the price and the wait time I would suggest midnight oil. I hope you have the address because there is no signage for this business out front. It is a beautiful spot with a great bar. The food was decent to good. The regular pep slice was my favorite. Being from buffalo I did not care for the buffalo chicken slice. It was fine taste wise but there are some things I would change. White pizza was also just ok in my opinion. Crust on all pieces are blah. For $15 (including tip) I think that is great value. Food decent. I'll be back for the pepperoni slice.

Yessir!!! You must try this place even if it's just for a quick slice. Speedy and respectful service from the guy that took care of us on the outside patio. I enjoyed the white slice and pepperoni. So good I ordered a third one after finishing. If you love pizza please try.

First visit was the previous night. We were pretty tired and toasted from a long drive and packing up for my daughter's move. Almost drove past it since the small sign wasn't lit up. It was pretty busy and we were both tired so just went up to the bar and placed a carry out order. Another customer waiting for his order asked if it was our first time there. He suggested ordering slices instead of a whole pizza. "You'll be eating it for the next 3 days, they're big". Good advice! I got 1 slice each of Sweet Heat and 3 meat. My wife got a cheese and some veggies (sorry, didn't catch what she ordered). Also ordered a couple of adult beverages to go. (Legal at the time!) Well, we enjoyed the take so much, we went back the next night with our daughter, but got a table this time. Easily said, any pizza you order is great! Also, unless you, 1. Have a few folks in your party, 2. Plan on taking home leftovers, 3. Have a ginormous appetite, order slices! Each piece was BIG! Oh yeh! And definitely try any of the frozen flavored margaritas! Love them, too! (And outside porch is dog friendly) Only bummer is the daughter has moved out of Nashville, so the opportunity to go here will definitely not be as frequent as we'd like. (Road trip!!)

Loveee that Midnight Oil sells pizza by the slice! It was so good, affordable, and little to no wait! I'm not going to lie... When I first walked in and saw how crowded it was, I immediately walked out and tried to rethink where else we could eat, but I'm glad we came back in and found space at the bar. The atmosphere is like a huge sports bar. This is a great place to go if you want to dine alone because I feel like everyone was just talking and Vibin with each other. They have several large TVs where they were playing the most popular sports events for the night. Not to mention, the pizza was phenomenal. I lived in New York for a while, so I feel like I'm a pizza snob and this definitely met the criteria. The cheese was perfect. The crust was battery and thin. Since you can buy pizza by the slice, I was trying different kinds that I wouldn't consider ordering in normal circumstances, but at $4-5 a slice it's a pretty low risk. The sweet heat pizza was my favorite. Bartenders were great and attentive despite the restaurant being packed! I will definitely be frequenting this place often.

My fav pizza in Nashville! Sweat heat is out of this world it's so good! The cheesy bread is the cheesiest! They have a great beer selection! The seating is pretty casual and friendly. I love midnight oil for a chill night out!

Late night and just got off a plane, this establishment hit the spot. We were afraid with it being later in the evening they would no longer have fresh slices, but we were wrong. We were greeted with smiles and was told to sit wherever. We ordered our pizza slices, which came out in great time. Pizza slices ordered: Buffalo chicken-not a big fan of. I guess I didn't have high expectations just because it's just Buffalo chicken. The taste wasn't bad it's just not one I would choose again. The atmosphere was chill and relaxed with dim lighting. The white- amazing! A def must order The heat- our absolute favorite of the night! Another def must order Cheesy bread- it reminded us of cheese pizza. Not the cheese bread I was expecting. The marinara sauce was great though! I'm a ranch connoisseur. So everywhere I go I'm asking for ranch. The ranch here was ehhh! I'm an in house made ranch kinda gal. I will definitely be back!

Great pizza, and some of the best margaritas I've ever had. The smoothness of the margarita is what makes it so good. The ice is like a slushy. I had the jalapeño margarita and it doesn't have a bad bite but very nice and warm.

I LOVED THIS PLACE! My good friend lives nearby so we walked over for a slice and cheesy bread! The service was fast and my server was helpful when I asked about the spice level of the Sweet Heat. It was the best slice of pizza I've had in a while! The price was very affordable, which was such a win. The ambiance was a fun, casual pizza join. I will be back soon!!!

Great place that I would return to in a minute. It reminds me of your classic College Pizza spot that my not look pretty on the surface, however delivers a taste pie that as the items you need! Parking was a little tuff, but if you don't mind walking a little it's worth the effort! Awesome service and solid staff making super pie...

The sweet heat pizza was one of the best slices I have had in a while. Absolutely amazing and the perfect flavor combination. Also, it is HUGE. My Caesar salad was also good but nothing special. Giving 4 starts because service was a bit slow, was not a huge fan of the drinks, and the pepperoni and mushroom pizza we ordered (while still good) was nothing close to the sweet heat pizza. Come for the sweet heat!!!!

THEY SEASONED THE SAUCE!!!!!! Yes y'all.... they actually seasoned the sauce! And this is going to be the closest you'll get to Brooklyn style pizza here in Tennessee! I'm sorry I can't share more with you because I'm still so stuck on the fact they actually seasoned the sauce! But I will tell you for me it was hard to spot. It's next door to 51st deli. Which they actually had this ginormous huge black and white sign lol! FYI People were eating outside and they had heaters out there that provided enough Heat for you to actually eat outside! I wouldn't test that theory but for those who are okay with it.. by all means! Literally this place is pizza a few skewers a couple of salads that's it! The menu is simple and straight to the point. And you just can't go wrong with that cheese pizza! So yeah I will be returning!

Maybe I came on a rough night, but my pizza slice was so thin it nearly disappeared from vie when I held it up. I didn't realize that this place was a dive bar and very small, so I was surprised when I came in. My friend and I came in around 5:30 on a Friday night and were lucky to get 2 barstools. We ordered the cheesey bread to split and it was some of the best I've ever had! The pepperoni pizza, on the other hand, was disappointing. I talked about my experience with some other friends and they said their pizza isn't that thin usually so they think it was just a bad night. In that case, I will try again. Just come in early!

Cozy bar, lovely service, good prices and genuine pizzaa!!! Id love to visit this bar again as long as I'm in Nashville It's definitely gives that classic old Nashville ambiance for people to come together and just be!

In this one block, there's at least 3 pizza joints and this one is by far the best. Very casual vibe with so many different drinks! We came in on a Saturday afternoon and ordered 4 slices of pizzas. We tried the 3 meat, buffalo chicken, and white slices and they were all great. We agreed that this is one of the better pizza joints in Nashville even though it's a no frills kind of joint Perfect ratio of crust to toppings. We'll be back

Bomb pizza!! Everything was hot and fresh. Chill area and vibes. And can't forget to mention ALL THE DOGGIES!!! Great music and the service is great. Def a must!

Pizza was good, but the best pie was the Sweet Heat if you like it a little spicy. The staff was attentive and the service was quick. It was a Friday night so it was pretty busy, but we had no issue getting a table for 6 in under 30 minutes. But you can chill at the bar while you wait.

Favorite pizza place hands down. Grab it every time I am in town. Sweet heat is my go to, but to be fair I haven't tried all of them. Although I have been there enough times to try them all, I always feel bad not ordering sweet heat. Definitely recommend!

Best pizza in Nashville. The cheesey bread is to die for. The atmosphere is super cozy. The staff & ownership are amazing. The frozen drinks are so good. Just do yourself a favor & go here!!! *Be patient on their busy nights. It can get really crowded & they do an amazing job accommodating their guests, but sometimes there is a wait (that is well worth it).

I loved their pizza!! It was our first time trying it and the pizza was large and the price was very convenient! The only issue I had was it was very hard to see where the midnight oil was located especially at night so it is very easy to pass!! But I loved the pizza especially with the honey glaze!! Chefs kiss!!

I stopped by Midnight Oil with some friends last Saturday after we left a wedding and the after party a little tipsy and a little hungry. I loved its vibe but my pizza was a little burnt for my taste (blackened on top and since it's such a thin crust pizza, it became quite dry when overcooked). (It might be that we were there too late - we were told that they were out of some pies for the night, so maybe I got the last and not-so-great slice of the pie I ordered.) The service was good. I'd definitely give it another shot, but my first slice wasn't great.

I was so excited to finally check out Midnight Oil, as my friends rave about it frequently. We lucked out and got one of the elusive parking spots in front, so it seemed like the meal was off to a great start! Unfortunately, none of the staff would acknowledge us. We watched the couple in front of us be greeted and the two groups that came in behind us be greeted, but we were completely ignored (which may have ended up being a good thing given how rudely staff interacted with other waiting patrons). After waiting for about 10 minutes and realizing no one was going to acknowledge us or give us an opportunity to put our name on the list, we left.

Looking for a fast and casual spot with great drinks and food? This is it. One thing I dislike the most about going to a pizza spot is having to fill up solely on pizza. I always feel yuck the next day. Not only does midnight oil have AMAZING pizza but they surprisingly have really amazing grilled chicken skewers as well! The teriyaki are always perfectly cooked a great portion and pair well with a slice of the sweet heat pizza :) The rosè? Best in town. I'm not kidding. And ya only need one Parking is not great at all as they share a lot with 51st deli but not to hard to find street parking in the area.

This a great hidden pizza gem. The thing I liked most was that they are open late and I can still get pizza by the slice. The texture of the crust was soft but crispy and the cheese was perfectly melty. The ambiance was lively and the music was cool too. The service was quick. I would definitely recommend this place and I will be back myself.

This place is pretty cool and I can't wait to visit more often in person post pandemic. They have awesome outdoor seats and a cool setup. We ordered pizza and cheesy bread to go. They missed our garlic sauce and ricotta on half of our pizza but it happens. The food was still really good! Next time I may just order three things of cheesy bread. It is so good! Best cheesy bread in Nashville and that is hard to do.

Got a to go pizza last week and these pizzas are huge! We got the BYO with Sausage, Pepperoni, Black Olives, Green Peppers, and Jalapeños. It was really good. My dad loved it and I enjoyed it as well (though I did find it a little salty the first day)s I had leftovers the second day though and I thought it was even better than day one! Also loved that it was not dripping in grease! Definitely recommend checking out.

This amazingly large pie fed the two of us for days! The perfect foldable pizza that heated up the next day as good as when we picked it up. Try it!

Pizza is some of the best Nashville has to offer. Pizza by the slice is such a great option. Bartenders are great. Not a huge place. 8-9 TVs. Great for game day. Indoor/outdoor space. Heated outdoor area.

I stumbled on this place by accident one Friday night. The pizza is cheap by the slice and there is a lot of various beers and wines to choose from. It is an evening restaurant so do not make the mistake of coming for lunch during the work week. However, weekends they are open at 11am. The pizza is great! Honestly might be the best pizza in Nashville. It's simple and taste really good! The vibes are so chill as well!

This is my friends and I's spot, the equivalent to our Central Perk. Great drinks, great pizza, great service, great price. If midnight oil has a million fans, I'd be one. If it had 1 it'd be me. The froze and the sweet heat is my go to order. Man, I love this place...
