"The 24-hour diner, one of the last in Center City, is closed. The owners couldn't make it work with the surrounding office buildings empty and nightlife on hold during the pandemic." - Rachel Vigoda

Google
I found this Diner on my way going somewhere else and this was a really nice little surprise. The decor is definitely dated but it was spotlessly clean. The service is good; my burger was decent but bland and the prices were really great considering the area this place is in. If you're tired of the scene, this is the place to go

Jim “The Cheesesteak Guy” Pappas

Google
I would call this a diner. I sat at the counter. There was a rift between the waitresses that may have slowed food service. This was a very standard cheesesteak. Diner/restaurant standard cheesesteak. What are you going to do?

Very Nice place. Nice dinner in the Center City. Open 24 hours.. I visit for breakfast and have visited once for dinner.. nice place and nice people.. I would recommend it..

After photographing the 29th OUT FEST on Sunday evening, 13 October 2019, went back to the POD Philly Hotel, checked online for an expensive place to eat dinner. Came across MIDTOWN III which was just around the corner. Service was excellent as was the western omelet and price. The diner reminded me of the 'Greek' diner that I used to frequent when I lived in NYC in the 80's at the corner of 9th Avenue and 22nd Street in Chelsea. And still visit when I visit NYC to this day. For sure, will revisit MIDTOWN III during my next visits to Philly.

In Philly for a conference and this has been our go to breakfast spot. A variety of options, eggs, pancakes, french toast, omelettes, coffee, juice, etc. Reasonably priced and quick service, it's never been crowded. Seems like several folks stop in on a daily basis for breakfast. It's open 24 hours and serves breakfast all day. Bring cash as there is a $10 minimum for credit or debit cards. The wait staff has a charming banter that is ongoing amongst each other.

Tasty downtown Diner, open 24 hours a day. Friendly staff serve well made diner food. Check out the scrapple, a Philadelphia favorite.

Very cool spot!! Not a lot of all night diners around. They have a bar as well which I’d love to go back and check out.

Nice cozy spot. The staff was nice, my waitress was Gina and she was great. The food was good as well. I look forward to going back and becoming a regular after the workday.

Yelp
Had a great happy hour into dinner at The Continental recently. Happy hour: I love a happy hour with food, and their famous crispy brussel sprouts are on the menu! The drink menu is a bit more limited (2 cocktail options, wine and beer), but all around good deals. We had a dinner reservation so took our happy hour drinks with us to be seated. If you are a party of 2, you can request to sit in the swing seats on the 2nd level. Would recommend these seats as you'll get a cool vantage point to look over the whole restaurant, and get to swing while you eat! The food: never disappoints. We got the French onion soup dumplings (which were good, but come really hot and by the time they cooled soup the soup part had sort of congealed a bit). I got the chicken tikka for dinner and it was both delicious and a hearty portion. I always recommend the brussel sprouts as well - they are crispy and come with a perfect yogurt-based sauce! Overall would highly recommend this restaurant for the cool, retro dinner vibe and great Asian-fusion food selection.

Yelp
The place has an amazing decoration with interesting dishes. Service was good. French onion soup dumplings 2/5. They were unique but not good. There was no soup in the dumplings, making the stuffing rather dry. I wouldn't recommend this. I would rather have an ordinary french onion soup. Shaking beef 3/5 - the shaking beef is good with rice. Without rice, it will be very salty. The staff offered rice to me when they brought out the food, not when the waiter took the order. The portion is not too big for $29. Pastrami fried rice 5/5. For the price and the taste, this was delicious. There is a hint of mayo and a hint of mustard in the sauce. The pastrami was tender. The overall quality and flavor of the dish are balanced to my taste. Lobster mac n cheese 3.5/5 uses orzo pasta instead of normal mac. It was rather bland in flavor but the crunchiness and lobster did make the dish worth a try. All the drinks were interesting and creative. My girl Sasha 4/5 has some sour and sweetness in it, citrusy, like a mimosa. French kiss 5/5 was definitely my favorite. It was not sour and not too sweet. The subtle taste of fragrance was so amazing. This was truly amazing. Astronaut 3/5 was also another mimosa-like drink. It was not unique due to just being a citrus drink with salt on the rim. For desserts, we got Brookie 5/5 the half and half brownie style with a scoop of ice cream on top never goes wrong. It was warm and refreshing at the same time. The peanut butter cup 4/5 is a cake with peanut mousse. It is unique to this restaurant and has rich peanut flavor. Banana creme brulee 3.4/5 I couldn't really tell the creme brulee or banana flavors. They're both very subtle. Overall the high quality and fancy service in this restaurant, plus changes in menu would definitely be a must visit.

Yelp
When our lunch reservations at a nearby restaurant fell through, my coworker and I decided to try The Continental, and we're so glad we did! I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, and he opted for the calamari salad. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from a grilled chicken sandwich, but it completely blew me away. The flavor, quality, and presentation were exceptional. The combination of ciabatta bread, avocado, bacon, pepper aioli, and perfectly grilled chicken was simply mouthwatering. The interior of the restaurant is really nice--modern and inviting--and our server was fantastic, attentive without being overbearing. It was such a pleasant surprise to have an impromptu lunch turn out so well. I'd definitely recommend The Continental for anyone looking for a flavorful, well-crafted meal in a great atmosphere.

Yelp
The restaurant is large with different levels and quite noisy. Many dishes are designed for sharing which could be fun for a group. I had the Brussels sprouts which took a long time but the waitress was in touch to let us know it was coming. When I got it, it was inconsistent in the cooking with some being un cooked and some overcooked. I had the crab pasta which tasted bland. It was cooked fine though. I don't know that I would go back but did appreciate the variety in the menu

Catelyn H.

Yelp
This place lives up to its eclectic vibe. The inside offers dim lighting and a cozy touch. I was lucky enough to sit in one of the fun swinging chairs on the second floor. The menu offers a wide assortment of options, from ahi tuna to chicken tikka masala, which is what me and my friend got for dinner. The plates are pretty large, but we're presented nicely. The chicken tikka masala was served separate from the rice and also came with a sort of tzatziki sauce. The rice was interesting as it had what I think was raisins in it. The flavor was definitely there though! I liked that they also offered seasonal options, like the thanksgiving plate! Although I was too stuffed to eat, it appeared that the restaurant also offers a dessert charcuterie platter that I'll have to try during my next visit!

Margo A.

Yelp
While bar-hopping on a Saturday night in the square, we decided to take our chances on the top floor of The Continental, and it did not let us down. The atmosphere is very intimate, and it would make for the perfect date spot. The cocktail menu is small, but everything offered is very well-done. From drinks to satisfy one's sweet tooth to updated takes on classics, there is something for every cocktail lover out there.

Robert C.

Yelp
Value to Price. Great! Not cheap, but for downtown Philly, location, service, and food...really good. Modern vibe. Had brunch, omelette, and bloody mary on Sunday. Would repeat. Fun tip. Use washroom downstairs. Mens room has two way mirror to hallway. Causes a double take and smirk.

Lois R.

Yelp
I had brunch there on Sunday with a group of friends. We all ordered something different and everyone was pleased with their food. Service was good, other than clearing the dishes we were done with. We were seated in a large corner booth and the sun was in my face the whole time. There was no way to block it, and I ended up sunburned, which is a health issue for me. The restrooms are downstairs, but there is an elevator for those of us with mobility issues.

Alexis P.

Yelp
I love the ambiance. The food is also good as well but it makes for a great date night or date night out with the girls. The drinks are also good. I most recently came for a happy hour at the bar upstairs. I need to come back for dinner.

Kinte C.

Yelp
I've visited the now closed sister location of this chain at 2nd/ Market several times over the years . However, this was my first time visiting the 18th and Chestnut location. My overall experience was decent. Environment As seen via the images, the restaurant is retro inspired with swing chairs and azul bucket seats. The service left nothing to be desired and despite arriving at peak brunch time(12pm) I was promptly seated. Food I chose the Big Bang meal which was simply a breakfast sampler of "the hits". Everything was delicious, barring the scrambled eggs which missed the mark on flavor and were hard to savor. Overall, the Continental is a modestly priced diner(considering most of the others are now defunct)that delivers on the vibe and is slightly above average as it relates to the food. Happy eats!

Tori F.

Yelp
Have been here for brunch but first time for dinner last night. It's dark, a little moody, and has these gorgeous light fixtures hanging down with eclectic seating options. We were in the pit seating which was so cozy. Everything we had was delicious, from the french onion soup dumplings, corn fries, crispy brussel sprouts, and our drinks. Had the tuna poke bowl which was delicious and fresh, yet not too heavy. A little pricy but overall a beautiful spot for dinner. Think I'd rather get a bunch of plates to share vs. an entree next time.

Morris B.

Yelp
Here at Continental for happy hour! Started off with the frozen tonight which featured vodka, lemon, apple, liqueur and hints of sage. This was a pretty good drink and had a slight smokiness to it, probably because of the sage. Happy hour is pretty chill here.

Scott L.

Yelp
Second time at this restaurant. First time was during happy hour and a work function. This time was for fun. It can be pretty crowded and noisy during dinner even on a weekday. We decided to share a few small plates, each were fabulous and also the server. The pork tacos were a little spicy, two served which was evenly split for our table. The crispy Brussel sprouts I could have eaten another plate. The corn fries were a surprise. Think of street corn shaped like a thick fry and deep fried. Delicious! The cake came with ice cream and hot chocolate sauce to pour over. A real winner.

Karl B.

Yelp
Went to the Continental Midtown for lunch and the atmosphere took me back to the 70s with the colors and the sunken room affect in the center of the restaurant. This is good for a GNN or a first date also great for people watching because the windows downstairs are so big. I also loved the global menu because you could get a taste of various cosines in one serting. Restaurant: The Continental Midtown Food Ordered: French Onion Soup Dumplings - the smell of them kinda turned me off a bit but according to other tiktoks it's a best seller Corn Fries - MY FAV Reminds me of elote, and it was Crunchy but soft inside Pork Tacos - they are sweet, the squeeze of the lime cuts the sweetness , pulled pork taco Atmosphere: 8.7/10 Food: 8.0/10 Service: 8.0/10

David A.

Yelp
We booked 1 month in advance to eat here. It has really gone down hill, as do many restaurants that have been around to long. The atmosphere and food was not good at all, including the dry Pad Thai, the lackluster lettuce cups, dumplings, calamari salad, chewy fatty steak. Sadly a disappointing $400 tab.

Sita P.

Yelp
Great location, love the decor and ambiance. Very modern and futuristic. Large space. Our waitress Dee Dee was great, very friendly & attentive. The cheesesteak egg rolls were delicious, served with a sriracha ketchup. The French onion soup dumplings were underwhelming, kind of dry. Chicken parm was very good, served with vodka sauce as opposed to marina. Killer shrimp Thai curry was also a great and tasty dish. Minus one star because the martini's were terrible! I had an espresso martini which tasted like watered down bitter coffee. My sister had the Golden Ticket which was described as a chocolate martini, it was sour.

Rose F.

Yelp
I loved it! Great atmosphere, prompt service and everything was very good. We enjoyed the cocktails we ordered, mine was the French Kiss and the corn fries were unique and very importantly, crunchy. I would definitely visit again.

Savannah D.

Yelp
The Continental Mid-Town was the perfect first stop on our Philly bar crawl! The retro, space-age rooftop ambiance set a fun and stylish tone for the evening. We attended a private event, and the service was exceptional--attentive, friendly, and pleasant throughout. The rooftop boasted floor-to-ceiling windows, a floating fireplace surrounded by a crescent-shaped couch, and nice drinks and apps, making it a standout experience.

Juan L.

Yelp
Cool space for brunch. We sat on the roof with friends and even though it was cold outside, the heaters kept everything toasty and comfortable. The food was tasty and there was a lot of really interesting stuff on the menu like the pastrami fried rice and the french onion soup dumplings- both things I'd never seen that ended up being pretty good!

Les R.

Yelp
This restaurant is a must visit when in Philly. I loved it, would recommend, and say a solid five star rating. Easily. The food was so good, and the ambience was mid century modern meets the future with some fun seating choices. Go for the bench cushion car seats, you won't ever want to leave. For an app, we started with the Pimento Cheese Dip ($12) served with a soft pretzel. So delish. My dinner guest ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese ($26) with orzo pasta, gruyère & fontina. It looked creamy and good. I enjoyed the Chicken Tikka Masala ($18) with almond & raisin basmati and raita. This was a step outside the usual for me in a restaurant like this and was so happy with my choice. Service was good and no complaints here. A must see and must eat location. Would encourage a recommendation, I did mine through OpenTable, as the place looks like it would be busy all the time. Website is: https://continentalmidtown.com

Yelp
Fun atmosphere with a large open indoor seating and bar on the first floor. Roof has outdoor seating area and a lounge/bar area. Menu has many options and the portions are larger than most places for the price. Food was great - no complaints here.

Alan S.

Yelp
The Midtown is a MUST for an outing with friends or for date night! I subtracted half a star only due to the bar being slow, but it was also a Saturday night and they were packed. I definitely suggest getting a reservation given how busy they get. Thankfully, we thought to put in a reservation and were seated straight away. The drinks were not weak but also not too strong and delightfully smooth. I got the Strawberry Sake Colada and my partner got the Going Green. Both were delicious, but I think we both preferred the Going Green drink. Many people in their reviews suggested the French Onion Soup Dumplings, so we started with an order of that and I see where the hype is! They were so cheesy and good and the perfect size appetizer for sharing. (Perhaps I'm just dumb, but in case you thought like me, they were not soup dumplings as in filled with soup that you bite into and drink, they are just filled with cheese and onions and french onion soup seasonings) For entrees, I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Eggroll and my partner got the Shrimp Tempura Skewers, both which were delicious. I didn't even need the sriracha ketchup with my egg roll, it was perfectly delicious on it's own. The dishes are smaller tapas-style, but 2 dishes would have still been too big for us. Us splitting a starter dish and then ordering our own entree along with drinks ended up being more than enough food and we even had leftovers. Our server was super sweet and attentive, though I unfortunately forget her name, and the total cost was also absolutely reasonable given the food, drinks, and entire romantic and fun atmosphere. The restaurant is also located near Rittenhouse Square. While it was too cold for us to walk around after, in warmer weather, this is an ideal spot to go and get dinner and then be able to have a nice walk through the park after. If you're looking for a nice, intimate place to go in Philly, this is it!

Erika S.

Yelp
Came here to meet a friend while in town. We ordered a round of pomegranate margaritas which were so good. I tried the shrimp tempura which was good but interesting! It was like corn dog on a stick style. Then I got the chicken lettuce wraps which were the best! I definitely didn't regret my order or coming here. Looking forward to coming back when in town.

Candi R.

Yelp
For my birthday, my son and I had dinner at The Continental Midtown. It was a late dinner and the restaurant was not full of patrons which made it quite an intimate setting. We were able to sit at a table with the basket chairs (which was interesting due to winter coats). Still lovely. Our waiter, Ricky?!?, was very attentive but not overbearing. He was around when we needed him, but not hovering. He gave nice suggestions when it came to menu items. My son ordered: -- Korean Fried Chicken -- Crispy Fried Chicken Breast, Kimchi Slaw, Pickled Cucumber I ordered: -- My Girl Sasha -- Bacardi Gold Rum, Crème de Pêche, Hennessey V.S. Cognac, Lime Juice, Mango -- French Onion Soup Dumplings -- Gruyère Cheese -- Cheesesteak Egg Rolls -- Sriracha Ketchup and because it was my birthday, I ordered dessert: -- Vanilla Ice Cream, Orange Sherbet (they added rainbow jimmies and a sparkler for my birthday | no embarrassing Happy Birthday singing) The restaurant and staff were definitely nice and I will be back to enjoy it during daylight hours!!

Reena D.

Yelp
There are so many different vibes here depending on where you're seated that you have to return to try them all. It's deceiving from the outside. The rooftop area is small but perfect for a couple of small groups on a nice evening. We ordered a few plates to share and everything was good. I don't know what I was expecting with the French onion soup dumplings but they were a mouth-pleasing experience. The crispy calamari salad was fresh, the short ribs skewers were tasty, and I loved the cheesesteak egg rolls. I like my cheesesteaks as small bites when dining out with friends. The Mexican chocolate layer cake was delicious and I'm glad I got to eat most of it. The drinks were pretty good too. Service was excellent. Server knew the bar offerings very well and gave us recommendations. I will definitely return to try more of the menu items and different seating areas.

Brianna G.

Yelp
Did someone say happy hour? We stopped here for pre dinner drinks and were NOT disappointed. The cocktails are so unique, but delicious. We ordered a variety of cocktails such as the astronaut (frozen and not frozen), the Mexican martini, Prosecco, house margarita, and strawberry sake colada. The favorite was definitely the strawberry drink, simply for the decor that came with it. Our server was friendly, and the rooftop was the perfect place to catch up with the girl friends.

Yelp
I first noticed the Continental Midtown during one of the first walks I took around my new neighborhood in west Center City. At first glance, it actually looks like a diner from the outside, and maybe it was at one time, but that's where the similarities end. After passing it by a couple of times, I added it to my list of places to check out and this weekend, I finally had the chance to go. In short, I will be going back to the Continental Midtown. Here's why... Appearance/Atmosphere - 10/10 The exterior of The Continental is definitely eye-catching, with bright, red brick walls, a large neon Continental sign atop, and a giant green martini olive perched above the corner. From the street, the interior of the restaurant looks darkish, but chic in appearance, with high-top, light blue, retro-chic dining booths. The place is very inviting from the outside, and when you go inside...wow! My friends and I visited the Continental on Saturday night. This place is hella cool! As we entered, the restaurant was audibly buzzing with people. The atmosphere inside was just as I expected it to be. The restaurant calls itself a "total reprieve from the expected," and I couldn't agree more. The place has a great atmosphere and a hip, retro vibe going on. There are two dining floors and a high, open-air ceiling. The second overlooks the lower dining room, and its rim is lined with tables for two, with basket swings serving as seats. How cool is that? A large, rectangular bar sits on the upper level, though there weren't many people seated there. There is also a rooftop area, which could be cool, but it was a rainy evening anyway. I will check out on a subsequent visit. A large, multi-colored chandelier illuminated the space from above, with blue backlighting for added ambience. The character of the place alone would be a reason to return to the Continental. Food/Menu - 10/10 The Continental bills itself as a martini bar, and there are five to choose from off the menu. I sampled the War of the Roses, which was rosy and delicious. Other than the wines and beers on hand, the rest of the cocktail menu looked inviting, as well, with tempting libations with names like Stormy Weather, Wooder-Melon Marg, and the one I may have to try the next time, Personality Crisis. As inventive and festive as the drink menu is, the extensive food menu is just as invitingly creative, with imaginative fusion dishes. The three of us shared an appetizer of French Onion Soup Dumplings, which were tasty, but a bit overcooked. For dinner, it was the Pastrami Fried Rice, which was amazing, and my pals had Korean Fried Chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai, which they both loved. Just as the ambience of the Continental has me wanting to return, so does the food and drink. With so many other interesting choices to try, I will definitely be bringing people there who come to visit me in Philly. Service - 8/10 On this particular visit, the service we had at the Continental was adequate. It wasn't exceptional, nor bad, simply okay. Everyone we came across was friendly and helpful, and our waitress was good.

Kevin T.

Yelp
I came here on a Friday evening and ordered the lobster mac and cheese. The restaurant was loud and it was difficult to hear people talk even across the table. The lobster mac and cheese itself was dry, stodgy, and oily, made worse by the choice to use orzo instead of elbows -- I had to ask for hot water to salvage it.

Kelly E.

Yelp
Went here for date night after a cocktail making class and I had high expectations because I have heard great things about it. The atmosphere was nice, we sat on the swings upstairs which was nice. The service was very mid, was never really checked on was just given out food drinks and check. The espresso martini was not good at all, and neither was the manhattan. The lobster Mac and cheese was not good, orzo is the wrong choice of pasta and the lobster did not taste fresh. The best thing we got was the equites fries, they were delicious I could have just ordered another round of those and I would have been satisfied. This place is a glorified diner and that's it, would not go back or recommend to anyone.

Emily B.

Yelp
Food was amazing- ambiance was impressive. Loved the spaceman martini. Would eat the shoestring fries with Chinese mustard every day if I could- they were so good. 2 thumbs up on the chicken parm- but beware the portion sizes is huge. Get it with a side of pasta as it doesn't come with. Desserts were omg- crème brule, warm cookie, and PB cup cake. All were a chefs kiss. One of the best meals I had while visiting Philly.

Emily R.

Yelp
Smelled & looked very clean in here (including bathroom)! Everyone was friendly & service was fast! No complaints about the food, everything was amazing and the burger was delish!

H G.

Yelp
Ambience was fenomenal, food was definitely good and fun. Our server was knowledgeable of the menu and recommended the onion soup wontons... really good.

Ryan K.

Yelp
Fun place to grab a drink. We visited Continental Midtown early on a Saturday night and went upstairs to their rooftop bar. The rooftop bar was half full, but it is possible the relative emptiness arose because the Continental was closing the rooftop for a private event scheduled to start an hour and a half after we arrived. The seat cushions had a retro flare suggestive of the early 1900s, and 90s hip hop played over the speakers during our visit. I ordered the my girl sasha. The drink was excellent, and I would order it again without question. Overall, I had a nice time at the Continental Midtown and would recommend visiting them for a drink.

Jeoung O.

Yelp
Second time visiting this restaurant. Love the ambiance and retro style of the restaurant. This time, it was for a late lunch so had a simple menu. I had the club sandwich which was really good. It came with a good portion of French fries which were nice and crispy. A good meal overall...but just thinking slightly more expensive than I want to spend for a simple lunch.

Marylouise S.

Yelp
Van was an absolutely outstanding waiter who went above and beyond in service!! Food was delicious and the atmosphere always has a positive vibe. Looking forward to our next visit!

Kristi P.

Yelp
We stopped in again for happy hour on the rooftop a few nights ago. Vibe is always fun. Nice happy hour specials although hubby wanted a Miller lite (only beer on HH) but they were out of it. Our bartenders were fine - no issues.

Michael R.

Yelp
I recently visited my old stomping grounds in Philadelphia, with my family. It's been years since I've been back in Center City, and couldn't be more pleased that we found The Continental on Chestnut Street. The service, the ambience, and especially the eclectic menu. were all spot on. We ordered some cocktails, and they were well-made, beautiful, and tasty. The appetizer menu offered a variety of tasty treats. We all ended up sharing. Our main courses were presented beautifully and covered the wide range of tastes that my family tends to demand. My 17-year-old son, Who rarely says things like this, stated more than once, but this was his favorite dining experience ever. Thank you, Continental staff and kitchen, for adding to a wonderful weekend in Philadelphia.

Dinesh A.

Yelp
Walked into a beautifully laid out restaurant with numerous tables, chairs and decorations. The check in staff promptly directed us to our table. Our waitress checked our order situation every few minutes until we finalized our selections. For the table, we ordered the fries and onion dumplings. Both were great! There more than enough fries to feed 4. Note that the dumplings are steamy HOT so make sure to de-plate them and puncture a small hole on the side to cool them off. The teriyaki salmon was okay. It was moist but average. Teriyaki sauce barely enhanced the flavors. Rice didn't really complement this dry dish.

Soprina G.

Yelp
Continental provides a modern twist to popular dishes in a comfortable retro chic environment, great for dining with a group of friends! Many people around me recommended Continental, so I finally checked it out. It's a great place to go with a group of friends before an event. It provides a funky upscale dining experience that has something for everyone on the menu. The menu explores American, Asian, Italian cuisines. All the dishes were very delicious and provided a modern twist to traditional/popular dishes! The tikka masala is better flavored than some tikka masalas at Indian restaurants. The rice was cooked wit roasted almonds and raisins which complemented the dish. The farro added great texture in the risotto. The risotto was also very citrusy in flavor and not overwhelming fatty (as many risottos can be). It also wasn't overpoweringly mushroom in flavor. My friend said to always order the Brussel sprouts when coming here. They're perfectly roasted, nothing burnt. And it was over some creamy garlic sauce. The next time I come here I plan on ordering the tikka masala and Brussel sprouts. Very delighted with the food, service, and vibe of Continental Mid-town. It's worth your while!

Tommi A.

Yelp
Food: delicious! Perfect sized portions. The shrimp pad Thai while not very authentic had deliciously large shrimp which I think warrants the higher price points Service: lovely and attentive Ambiance: Unique. Located on the corner of 18th and chestnut the large windows and second floor dining area over looking the first floor makes the space feel very open.

Emily R.

Yelp
I recently visited Continental Midtown for drinks and apps. We opted to sit at the bar downstairs. The ambiance is super cute. Since we were dining elsewhere, we only ordered one app which was the French onion dumplings. The cheese was perfectly crispy, and the French onion flavor was incredibly prominent. I could have easily enjoyed three more orders. If you're a fan of French onion soup, these dumplings are a must-try. The service was also amazing. Our bartender was very nice and friendly. The drinks were fantastic as well. Looking forward to returning to explore more of their menu items in the future.

Katie S.

Yelp
We sat at the rooftop bar for happy hour and loved the experience! We had the Brussels sprouts with yogurt sauce and the corn fries. As a group of 4, the Brussels spouts were a good portion and well-seasoned. However, as the corn fries are more or less 4 large potato chunks with corn on them, I would recommend passing. Both the drinks were strong, so we were happy we had good value. The brookie and pudding were delicious. The service was fast and the rooftop was not too loud or crowded and is well-decorated. We would come back again!

Kini N.

Yelp
The rooftop area is the best with both indoor and outdoor seating. Our waiter was amazing and attentive. The food is great, I always wish for more vegetarian options. Overall, a great place to come to in Philly. Been coming for years!!

Simran B.

Yelp
We visited Continental on a Friday night in July. We were in town for the weekend, and I dragged my roommate there because it was one of my favorite places when I lived in philly. Turns out, memory served correctly! All the food was excellent. The ahi tuna tostada was amazing, very well balanced, and fresh. The lobster Mac n cheese was as creamy and comforting as ever. The French onion soup dumplings are still my favorite thing. I docked a star just because the service wasn't great (and admittedly never had been), but we still had a great time and would absolutely go back!

Amity W.

Yelp
Came here for brunch! Have been here for dinner also but decided to see how it was during the weekend rush. Great staff. We sat upstairs in the fun wicker swing chairs. Ordered mimosas, one classic and one blueberry flavor. Then we ordered the bacon & cheddar omelette with a side of breakfast potatoes, and a smoked salmon Benedict. Now we know it's great for dinner and brunch!

Yelp
Very cool, but not too cool! We went for an early lunch and had a fair choice of seating. We opted for an upstairs booth. Ellie was our server; she was the perfect balance of friendly and professional. We ordered chix lettuce wraps which came with endive and romaine leaves- good ratio of lettuce to chix w veggies and sauce, very tasty. Sis ordered a Chinese chix squad; she enjoyed it too. We had gone to Muller Museum and National History Museum; it's waking distance to both!

Yelp
Super fun, chic atmosphere here! I hadn't been here in years, but came back this week for dinner. It was awesome! Our server was great and never rushed us. The menu has a huge variety of proteins and cuisines, so there really is something for everyone! We started with the corn fries appetizer. I liked them, but I feel like they lacked flavor. There needed to be more salt or spice? But they were an interesting appetizer for sure! Just needed a little umph! I LOVED my entree though! I got the teriyaki salmon. It was the perfect portion. I loved the crispy exterior and the presentation was an A+~ We were too full for dessert, but everything looked delicious. I look forward to coming back and trying more dishes here!

Yelp
I had an excellent dinner at the Continental. My drink was on point. Perfectly balanced and packed a punch. We ordered the tuna tostadas (my personal favorite), French onion soup dumplings (incredible) and the pastrami fried rice (so effin good). The Continental is a whole vibe. I absolutely love the decor and the funky seating. I did knock a star off because our anniversary was not acknowledged. I put it in the reservation in two different spots and it was totally ignored. Service was attentive and would absolutely return for the food.

Yelp
the food was great and perfectly priced, but the area at and around my table smelled like straight badussy it was quite horrid.
