This is an upscale hotel restaurant. The price point is comparable to the room costs. That said, the service was okay. The food was appetizing and tasty, what could be eaten. The pancakes were not fully cooked and couldn't be finished as the middle was still raw batter. The "seasonal" fruit was not ripe and there was actually mold on some of it. It was in a beautiful area of the building overlooking the harbor. It was overall a pleasant experience, but not one we felt we needed to duplicate.

Miel Brasserie within the InterContinental hotel is currently under renovations. The hotel does have a makeshift setup in the lobby that serves a continental breakfast, or you can order a la carte to the room, which is what we opted for. The delivery took about a half hour from start to finish, which was great, and our breakfast, while expensive, was outstanding!

Very nice. I went Friday after work around 5pm. We were attended very quick. The waiter was amazing very kind. We didn’t feel pressure at all. There were many seats at that time too. The food was amazing and big amount. We got a Travelzoo deal for 2. The price cap from the coupon was very generous; it basically includes most of the items on the menu. The food was very tasty. My fav was the grilled octopus. Again the waiter was very nice. I liked very much the decor of this restaurant. I like the decor on the interior, makes you feel at easy. I will definitely recommend.

I ate breakfast here while staying at the Intercontinental. My omelet was delicious and the attentiveness of the waitstaff was great. I thought the breakfast was fairly priced as well - I spent a little over $20 for the meal pictured.

Fantastic service by Stephen! We had the 3 course Restaurant Week meal for $46. I loved the crab cake, lemon sole, and berries. I had to be dairy free. We will return here. Fabulous time with my girlfriends!

Google
Excellent breakfast at the InterContinental! I got the breakfast sandwich that had bacon, egg, and cheese in it and it was great. The breakfast potatoes were also well seasoned and cooked perfectly. I would definitely come back here for a casual breakfast because they are consistent and I know exactly what I'm getting!

Google
Amazing location, perfect for a romantic date. The food is delicious, fresh and tasteful, without mentioning the portions, awesome, not small at all. The service is brilliant.

Google
What a very nice place to go for a special occasion. The short rib was amazingly tender and delicious as well as all the fare. The service was exceptional as well. I highly recommend.

Yelp
I love the breakfast and dinner here. The food was very French/American and very gourmet. It's not extra large portions which I like. The portion match the European standard. Tastes very delicious, homemade quality. Their breakfast is AMAZING. Has a kids menu. The staff was very friendly and nice. Very warm. The atmosphere was very nice. French style. Outdoor was great in the daytime.

Yelp
This was such a disappointment especially for what should be a high rated establishment. We had several mishaps. One of our friend's salmon was incredibly dry and didn't taste fresh. She sent it back and got a somewhat better piece of fish. Our other friend was also served salmon when he ordered a medium rare steak. Then my husband received a rare steak when he ordered medium. The steaks also tasted poorly. The clam chowder was okay. In addition the silverware we received looked like it had just been used. It was gross. Lastly my hot chocolate wasn't even hot. I do not recommend.

Yelp
A little pricey but always a relaxing and elegant (but casual enough) place to have sit-down breakfast in the city. I used to stay at IC for work and it's a wonderful hotel (as is Boston Harbor hotel). Office has since moved but I still try to get down here during my trips because it's such a nice location.

Yelp
Before we left our hotel, my friend and I came here for breakfast. I wasn't sure how the food was going to be, but I have to say... SO impressed! The waiter went out of his way to get jalapeños from the upstairs kitchen for me, which was so nice of him! The whole meal was actually so good. The only complaint I have is that my eggs were a little underdone, but I loved the parts that were cooked better and everything else. I'm usually skeptical about eating breakfast at hotels, but this had to have been one of my best hotel breakfasts ever! The scenery is super cute too, such a nice views out there windows! If i come during the warmer months sometime, I'll make sure to sit outside! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
We stayed at The Intercontinental Boston on a few occasions so we had dinner as well as breakfast. Service is great but the food in general is a tad too salty. The view of the harbor is beautiful.

Natalie S.

Yelp
The service was okay, the server rarely checked up on us. The host came over and checked on us more than the server did. The food was good, my family had the salmon, linguine, and bucatini. The bucatini had no flavor and I would not recommend. The view and drinks are the only good things about this restaurant. The food was way too overpriced for what they serve. The server also mixed up the food. We got two linguines but one with less spice. They gave the food to the wrong person. Very disappointed and would not recommend.

Yelp
Awesome place, especially when it isn't packed. My girlfriend and I came here for an anniversary dinner, and it exceeded all expectations. Appetizer - Fig and prosciutto flatbread pizza (5/5) Entree - Seared scallops and risotto (4.5/5) - Our only suggestion is to make the risotto more creamy. The service all around was prompt and friendly. Our waiter was phenomenal and brought out a complimentary lava cake with a scoop of ice cream. (Based on what we could observe, this seems standard for birthdays and anniversaries if you book through OpenTable) Definitely go if it is in your budget!

Yelp
We had a last minute dinner here when weather got bad and we could not leave the hotel. Everything was quite good! Excellent wine list. The steak frites was perfect and the service was really good. They gave crayons out for my son to play with and were patient with us. Halibut was a tad overcooked. The food came out quickly and I've always adored this restaurant for their views.

Yelp

Yelp
Located in the continental hotel we were directed to the most beautiful view, we sat outside as it was a nice evening on the water. They were not taking any indoor guests and it wasn't very crowded on a Saturday night which was surprising. Thankfully we sat outside because the A/C was probably somewhere near 60 degrees indoors. As far as experience goes the bar got "backed up" quick and we waited close to 20-30 minutes for drinks and bread to be brought to the table. Again there were maybe 4 other small parties there so the bar getting backed up seemed odd, however, they did only have about 2 servers on staff that evening. The bread and drinks were great, and upon ordering the cauliflower hummus and ahi tuna apps they came out quick and were delicious. Our waiter was pleasant and things were picking up. That was until the steaks were served. No matter how our party ordered them they were like rubber tires. They had the flavor but the texture and tenderness was not there. It was hard to chew and swallow for a 35 dollar meal. The truffle fries that came with it were awesome! Scallops and shrimp were the other orders from our party and those came out great too. We lastly ordered some dessert and coffee, small menu ( strawberry shortcake and chocolate lava cake). The lava cake was flourless and gooey, topping it with chocolate ice cream was unique, it was delicious. The shortcake got high praise as well but the coffee was watery and not worth the extra 6 dollars. Overall for the price, I think it was a subtle let down. Don't get the steak or coffee... servers pleasant and the ambiance was very nice. Would maybe go again and just order the things we enjoyed/ try some other things on the menu.

Yelp
We were staying at the Intercontinental Hotel in Boston over the weekend and decided to have lunch at their hotel restaurant and what a great choice we made! We came for lunch and every single dish on their menu sounded so delicious, we didn't even know how to choose. The complementary bread is plentiful and easy to eat so be careful not to fill up on this! We chose the burrata cheese dish as our entrée and it was a very generous portion and every bite was amazing! We ended up sharing the salmon toast which was very easy to share and also a great choice on their menu. Would recommend! Not too noisy, great service and fun atmosphere.

Yelp
Nice beautiful restaurant inside intercontinental hotel, on the riverfront. Very busy. Not too many places are open in the area for breakfast on a Saturday and we were glad to find this place. Good food and good customer service with the option of a buffet.

Yelp
Miel was by far not my first choice for Dine Out Boston. They rate 3.5 stars on Yelp. They did not have a Restaurant Week menu posted. And they price their Restaurant Week lunch at $25, which is the highest of the 3 options ($15/$20/$25). But my dc nixed a bunch of my suggestions, leaving this as the one with the shortest commute, and they open for lunch at 11am. Once they posted their RW menu, I once again had 2nd thoughts. What?! They are only offering 2 courses for $25? What was steep became steeper. And to this sweet tooth, it was a lost opportunity to consume dessert at lunch. And second, the entrees options didn't exactly thrill me... so I would probably go with the vegetarian entree option, which generally isn't the wise choice for RW. But my dc put a pleasant spin on it - "hopefully that means it's VERY VERY good." Miel's is located inside the Intercontinental Hotel. What I didn't realize was that it consisted of 3 parts - the front bar area (RumBa), the back dining space, and a patio out in the back. They started us off with slices of sour dough, which I paired with the olive oil that was already on the table. Their Beef Tartare - capers, dijon mustard, shallots, parsley, grape seed oil, grilled sourdough - was quite good, though the grilled bread served alongside the stout tower of chopped beef was too burnt in my opinion. When I asked the server if he could do something about it, however, he willingly brought out a plate of lighter grilled slices (rather limp actually, as if the kitchen was afraid of overgrilling yet a second time). The portions of both entrees were quite acceptable. The vegetarian option, the Bucatini alla Primavera - asparagus, broccoli, peas, tomato, zucchini, pine nuts, parmesan, cream - was tasty with firm vegetables and no longer al dente tubular spaghetti. The Pepper Crusted Salmon Pailard - artichoke & tomato panzanella, basil, lemon vinaigrette - was not as thickly covered with pepper as I had imagined it would be. Both were good and made for a satisfying lunch. *** 3/2017 RW *** Miel posted its Dine Out Boston menu earlier this time around, and it tempted me enough to plan a return for a 3 course dinner for $38. We started with the Duck Confit Toast appetizer (caramelized onions, goat cheese, honey roasted pears, arugula, champagne vinaigrette) and found it a shareable portion with a heap of shredded duck topping a full slice of toasted bread. I enjoyed the contrast of flavors given the sweetness of the pear and onions against the savory duck and goat cheese, and crisp crunch of the bread. The sides listed attracted me to the Maple Brined Berkshire Pork Chop entree (bourbon glazed honey crisp apples, grilled red onions, fingerling sweet potatoes), while others at the table opted for the Four Pepper Crusted Atlantic Salmon (celery root puree, hen of the woods mushrooms, hazelnut brown butter). I sampled the fish which my friends deemed overly peppered while savoring the mushrooms, but relished the thick meaty pork chop with its sweet sauce and tender accompaniments. Dessert, however, was a slight disappointment after our enjoyment of the preceding two courses. The Riz Au Lait (traditional French rice pudding, vanilla, canella, bruleed sugar) was as advertised, but nothing special despite the addition of the crisp sugar crust over the chilled pudding. My Flourless Almond, Orange and Coconut Cake (candied orange peel, citrus cream cheese icing) had coconut shreds too generously speckled throughout the cake which was too much texture for me. While the citrus tinged icing topping the cake was nice, the grey smear decorating the plate tasted odd to us.

Yelp
While staying at the Intercontinental in Boston, we were given complimentary cards for breakfast. Not only was the service quick and friendly, but the environment was very clean and peaceful. This restaurant is located inside the hotel. As for my platter, I ordered a ham and cheese omelette with mushrooms. And on the side it came with a hash brown and some toast. The quality of the food was amazing and filled me up for the whole day. The reason I am giving it 4 stars and not 5 is mainly because of the prices. The prices are a bit high, and in my opinion, the breakfast should be included with the stay, but other than that, I would recommend trying Miel for a nice breakfast.

Yelp
Located in the InterContinental Boston, lays Miel. Miel provides great food but horrible service. We came on a very empty Saturday night to have a nice French meal. The only problem was despite it being very empty, our service was painful. Our server didn't come over for drinks until about 20 minutes after sitting down. Not only did he get our drink orders wrong, he also got our food orders wrong! He seemed to rather want to socialize with the staff than to pay attention to the customers. When we told him of his mistakes, he scuffed and walked off. I could tell from working in the industry, the waiter wasn't having a bad day. There was no excuse for his attitude other than arrogance. The bus boys were no better, as we finished our food and nothing was cleared. We even ordered dessert and our dirty dishes from our appetizer and main meal were still pilled up on the table. As for the food, utterly delicious! I ordered the braised lamb and it was cooked to perfection. The truffle fries felt like heavenly creatures in your mouth. If the service were to be fixed, it would be a great experience.

Yelp
My family and I went for Sunday brunch. We asked specifically for a table by the window, but for some reason, the host wouldn't seat us there but didn't say it was reserved or anything. The brunch menu is a little expensive, but that's to be expected from a hotel restaurant, I guess. We got the truffled eggs, crab cake Benedict, lobster roll Benedict, and smoked salmon Benedict. Everything was very good, but the service was a little slow.

Yelp
Dined on a Friday around 2 PM during Boston restaurant week. We chose to sit outside and the view was spectacular. It was very quiet and we were the only diners in the outdoor area excluding what would be considered their bar area. Our waiter came fairly quickly to offer us drinks, and we chose ice water. He returned shortly and we had decided on the two courses Which are included in the restaurant week lunch selections: the trout almandine with the watermelon feta salad and the shrimp scampi over zucchini noodles with the Hazelnut and coffee ice cream sandwich. The watermelon salad was served with complementary crusty bread which was outstanding. It took probably another 15 minutes before our lunch entrées arrived. Both seafood dishes were cooked perfectly, the trout almandine was very tasty with Mandarin oranges and toasted almonds on top . There were four large shrimp as a part of our shrimp scampi but the zucchini noodles were very scarce but good...probably only 4-5 bites worth. During our lunch, our waiter only came to deliver and pick up dishes but we never saw him in between. My friend's water glass was empty and she had to ask to have it refilled by our waiter tho he had come to the table and other waiters had walked by. The ce cream sandwich was huge, ample enough to share. I enjoyed the ice cream sandwich due to the thickness of the cookie but my friend would've preferred more ice cream and a thinner cookie. A perfect ending to a great meal. Wish we could say the same for the service. Our waiter was not unfriendly just not very warm. And was only present to pick up and drop off our dishes and never checked in in between.

Yelp
Everything was amazing at Miel! The food was incredible and the service was outstanding as well. The ambiance was great and the food was very reasonably priced for how nice the restaurant was. They were even nice enough to sit us outside (we had indoor reservations) and brought my girlfriend a free birthday dessert. Definitely recommend!

Adrienne R.

Yelp
The fish was not fresh and overcooked. my husband's meal was switched then, when they gave him his food it was overcooked then, when we ordered deserts, they set up dirty silveware. i wouldn't recommend it at all.

AJ K.

Yelp
Pancakes. Pancakes. Pancakes. This is Intercontinental's provincial themed Brasserie (translation: French themed Hotel Coffee Shop). We had 3 meals here (a-la-carte breakfast, a-la-carte lunch, and a breakfast buffet), each of which was decent but nothing to write home about. The lobster roll at lunch was good, the lobster omelette at breakfast was dried out and under seasoned, but the ham and mushroom omelette with cheddar (breakfast buffet service) was excellent after we requested that eggs be less done. However, the absolute star of the show were the pancakes... They are possibly some of the best pancakes in America. Absolutely perfect. Don't know how they get that perfect flavor with complexity and texture, but I imagine it's exceptionally hard to do.

Yelp
Very nice spot for a nice sit down meal. Went here for a business lunch. Menu had good options. Tried the summer squash and turmeric soup and my colleague had the turkey BLT. Portions were big and service was quick and effective. Note: They have outdoor seating for the warmer months. Also this place is good for large groups. While they have lots of seating, it its within the Intercontinental Hotel so can fill up quickly. Recommend making reservations.

Yelp
A solid night here on Valentine's Day. Service was impeccable - the waitress was very accommodating to help make this a special night. Service was also not too intrusive, which is a plus, especially on a romantic night such as Valentine's. The spotlight of the night however was the little sprinkle of additions the restaurant provided, ranging from the single rose and box of Godiva chocolates given to their patrons to the manager personally coming over and providing a love-lock with a brief history session of the French bridge (which, ironically, is quite a sad story to be sharing on Valentine's Day.. google it and you'll understand!) Food wasn't too shabby and was based on a special Valentine's prix fixe menu - the 1st course stood out the most, a shrimp and crab salad. Absolutely fresh and delicious, sprinkled with candied pistachios. We also ordered an extra dish, the french onion soup, which looked great but tasted standard. The Seared Tenderloin of Beef - we ordered was also great - soft, juicy, tender. The red velvet whoopie pie, which looked amazing, was slightly dry and not impressive. The Chilled Rosemary White Chocolate and Strawberry Soufflé on the other hand was amazing - creamy, and filled with frozen pieces of stawberries which added a delight in texture and temperature. Pricing was okay - perhaps not the best value, as the two desserts were shared (so basically three courses for $80pp).

Tiffany S.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday and I was really happy with the food and service. They were quick to bring drinks and bread as well as taking our order. I'm not sure why it took a while to have our food brought out, maybe because we were a large party and we ordered steaks. The filet mignon and lobster mac and cheese were delicious and cooked perfectly. The truffle fries were great. I was impressed by how much food you got. Definitely worth the prices. Each entree came with a salad and fries. Had I known we probably would've ordered less. Drinks were great too. I even got a little slice of cake for my birthday. We also sat in a comfortable area. I'll be back soon.

Yelp
Went here for brunch in the intercontinental hotel. The food was very average nothing special. Nice view and very good service. My problem was more with the intercontinental hotel. There is only one bathroom and the women's bathroom was closed. I asked the front desk where another bathroom that I could use was and she told me that there isn't another bathroom to use since I was not a guest. Even though I was a paying customer they would Not let me use their bathroom and I had to leave to go use a bathroom somewhere next door. RIDICULOUS

Eun H.

Yelp
Its my least favorite Intercontinental restaurants. Typically, breakfast buffets are gorgeous, but here theres only few typical options. I got their oatmeal with berries. Berries weren't fresh and it didn't even have medley of nuts or dried fruits. I would rather get oatmeal at Starbucks for fraction of the cost. I got few items as room service and they were all disappointing at best. Just walk few blacks and get something decent!

Janet W.

Yelp
Part of the Intercontinental Hotel in Boston. Atmosphere of the restaurant is nice as you have the view of the harbor and Boston Tea Party ship there. Menu is quite straight forward for lunch, but do expect hotel prices. I ordered the lobster clam chowder which was very delicious - creamy with nice chunky lobster and clams in the soup. As this was a quick business meal, I didn't have time to order anything else. Service was good but again I had a quick and simple meal, so not much to add here. For a Tuesday 12pm, the restaurant was about a third full, but also to be expected as this is a hotel restaurant in downtown Boston.

Matthew L.

Yelp
I went with 5 other coworkers to Miel during lunch around 12. It was not busy at all. I ordered grilled octopus, serono ham, clam chowder, and a salmon steak. Everything was cooked to perfection. The only gripe I will say that I had with Miel was that service was super super slow. It took us around 40 minutes to get our entrees and it wasn't even busy at the time. Other than that the food was super delicious

Kai P.

Yelp
Went there for a business dinner with a party of 8. The wait staff was unfriendly and hurried (despite the place being almost empty). The food was altogether underwhelming. The octopus app was good, the mushroom app was decent as well. Ordered 18 oysters and instead of the bulk price was charged full price for 6 of them. The mains were a flop. The duck arrived cold and overcooked - seemed to have been prepared earlier in the day. The scallops were appetizer sized. The sole was actually haddock and overcooked. The only redeeming dish was the truffle fries. Don't bother with this one.

Ashley K.

Yelp
We waited an hour for some yogurt and an omelet. Meanwhile our waiter didn't check on us a single time or refresh our water. The food doesn't matter when the service is this bad. A big nope from me.

Skye G.

Yelp
Miel in the InterContinental Hotel is quite beautiful. The prices are a bit steep for me but the beauty is this is part of what I do for work. I often like to share so I can try more fun things and taste a variety of yummy foods as having more of a good thing is great. With the warmer weather coming I would suggest getting a table outside. The views are awesome and being undercover so the direct sun isn't beaming into your eyes is a plus. The Gruyere Onion Soup was very very hot and since I couldn't resist I of course burnt the roof of my mouth on the hot cheezee...ouch but so yummy! The broth was flavorful but not too salty. I hate it when the stock has sat for a long time and it becomes deep dark brown and too salty and I am drinking water for days like I am a camel. The Crab Cakes with small side salad was awesome. This sounds crazy but it actually had lots of real crab in it not full of stuffing mix. Even the nicer places serve this with imitation crab which bites. There are two crab cakes not just one like I had thought. Although I did order other things these two is enough for a lite lunch or early afternoon delight with a drink. For the meal we ordered the Croque Monsieur aka Ham and Swiss on a baguette (reminded me of a Panini of sorts) and the Burger Trilogy. After burning the roof of my mouth the baguette was not the best choice since the crust of the bread was hard to bite into. The Burger Trilogy was better since it gave me a variety to pick from. My favorite was the lobster. Loads of big chucks of lobster and wished I could have had more. The mini burger was good but the Tuna wasn't since I am not a tuna fan. I'll need to go back for dessert since I was so full I couldn't bear to entertain dessert and nothing really jumped out at me. Not sure how I really feel about olive oil ice cream and I am a huge ice cream lover so I am still pondering that. There is a private dining room which is the Olive Room for groups of about 14. There is no charge to use the room but there is a food and drink minimum. There are individual small bottles of olive oil that make up the chandelier, the table and room have a history and story from olives and there is a looked area which holds the premium olive oils. It is a beautiful room and worth booking for the right occasion. They can also open and or close a portion of the dining hall and create a private seating area for larger parties. With the night views it would be beautiful.

Hui-ju T.

Yelp
My family and I have been to Miel a few times as we always enjoy our dinner there. Service can be a little slow sometimes but we did not mind it. Tonight when we sat down, there was only one small plate for four of us. We asked for three small plates so we can use for our breads. Both wait staffs just ignore our requests and we had to asked a few times for our plates. The waiter brought up a few times we were using travelzoo dinner voucher. We felt that we were treated in a lower class due to the fact we used TravelZoo vouchers. We also need to ask a few times to receive other items we asked. When dessert came we told our staff we need a couple folks so we can use to eat our dessert. He walked away and smiled but never came back with our folks. Overall we were not please with our experience tonight.

Stephen R.

Yelp
Staff great was easy since stayed at intercontinental. Food for most part had no issues with. The only problems had, the kept over cooking toast and sausage omelet, the sausage was so dried out it was beyond rubber. Otherwise food was great. Don't let my complaint about the sausage or toast deter you. Still great place.

Alice E H.

Yelp
Expensive for crappy food and okay service. Only half the people in my party liked their food. I ordered the spicy bucatini and it was over the top spicy. The rest of the flavor would have been fine if it was not as spicy and my rating would have been bumped up a star. I tried some pizza- take that off the menu. Boston pizza is supposed to be great, but it should not be offered. Any $3-4 slice is definitely better than that anywhere else. I asked for a amaretto sour but received a whiskey sour. And when I asked for a picture of my group from my server I wasn't in the picture and it was really blurry. Nice ambiance and great location though

Carley M.

Yelp
Good service, great presentation...food tasted great. I got an omelette with sausage cheese and tomatoes. I got fruit since i am gluten free i cant eat toast and the hashbrowns are made on the same top as pancakes and other wheat based products. Service was good, prices are high. But it looked pretty.

Cara C.

Yelp
My friend took me here while I was on a visit to the great city of Boston. She thought that it was Restaurant week (but they don't do it on Saturdays). We were one of three tables total so we were a little leery at first, and not to mentions that it was in a hotel. But overall, we would agree that it was a pretty great meal. We ordered a bottle of red wine. 44$ and a good flavored bottle. The bread was soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside and the olive oil on the table was flavorful. We started with crustinis. The avocado ones were our favorite. We also had the manchego and goat cheese ones. They were ok... Too much fig and too much onion for our liking. We split the buratta and beet salad. I didn't love the flavors. The greens were a little bitter. And I don't care for nuts. Our favorite part was the tartar trio. Beef (our favorite), tuna (yummy), and salmon (really good). We... Ok... I finished everything. We split the mushroom risotto. It was good. Not great but at that point we were full. We finished the meal with coffees with frangelico and wonderful homemade whipped cream, and the apple tart. Loved the dessert and coffees. All together we finished for just under 200 pre tip. I would say- check it out. Our server was nice and friendly.

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast while staying up the road at Boston Harbor Hotel. Four of us were seated and offered the menu. Server took 10-15 minutes to arrive. She was pleasant but very scattered. We opted To go with the Breakfast buffet offering at $28. Each. Usual items like Pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs etc. were listed and that would work for us. Disappointing thing is the buffet was winding down and food wasn't being replaced and what was left was out there a while. If this were mentioned, we would have worked around it and ordered from the al a carte menu. When we realized this, it was too late. My wife went to the hostess stand to request some croissants and was told they weren't replacing any more food at this time. They did bring us 2 croissants from the kitchen which was appreciated though. $119 for breakfast for 4 is pricey but ok with me if the food offering is on par. This wasn't close.

Yelp
Not a bad Saturday brunch spot for a group of 8, especially for this area where your only other Saturday brunch option is dim sum. The dining room is beautiful and cheery, and the overall setting was classy and upscale without being stuffy (so we didn't feel weird that we wore jeans). I love the view of the water, and they have patio dining for good weather. For such a lovely setting, the brunch menu was surprisingly normally priced ($12 for an omelette, $14 for crab cake benedict, etc), so everyone was pleased with the menu and the overall ambiance. I got the crab cake benedict and it was presented beautifully, with the 2 small benedicts sitting in a small cast iron skillet atop a wooden plank, with a piece of toasted peasant bread leaning against it. I was disappointed to see it didn't come with any sides, AKA some kind of potatoes like you'd normally get with a benedict (I guess the bread was the side?)... this was especially sad when I tried the potatoes that came with the omelettes my dining companions ordered, which were really tasty. (The omelettes themselves were also well received, everyone was happy with how light and fluffy they were.) The benedict itself was OK... the 2 eggs were a bit less runny than I like my poached eggs, and the hollandaise wasn't memorable or plentiful, but the well-seasoned spinach under the eggs was a nice touch. The crab cakes themselves were chock full of crab, but weren't crispy on the outside at all, and since there was no English muffin on the bottom or any other additional component, the whole dish lacked textural contrast and was overall mushy and a bit lackluster. Also, given the size of the 2 small benedicts and lack of side dish, I was still a bit hungry after cleaning my plate, so it's a good thing we got 2 orders of the beignets for the table because I was able to fill up on those. The beignets themselves were really tasty, although could have used a bit more of that famous honey Miel's known for IMO. The server ended up forgetting we ordered them, so they came out after we had already eaten half our entrees. He did offer to comp our next round of drinks to make up for it, but none of us really heard him say that or it just didn't register or something, so none of us ended up getting a second round of mimosas (also by that time, we were full and ready to move on anyways)... I appreciate the gesture, but I think it would have been better for them to comp either the beignets or our first round of mimosas. Overall, not the most impressive brunch I've had, but the setting was lovely and everyone else really enjoyed their own food and the overall experience.

Yelp
This is for breakfast only. The decor of Miel was terrific, bright sunny yellows, and a definite French country feel. I loved the chandeliers on the ceiling. The service...again. Same as the hotel itself, and Rumba. Sucky. When we arrived, the hostess asked us to hold on for a sec while she checked tables. We could see from where we stood that the place was pretty empty. After waiting a good 5 minutes, she returned, and sat us. Where we remained for another 10 minutes before any waiter came over. He didn't explain our options (buffet vs. menu), and we just fended for ourselves. We both opted for the served breakfast over the buffet (not a fan), and the food took almost 30 minutes to come out. The eggs were WAY undercooked, the potatoes lukewarm (and terrible), and missing ketchup, jelly for the toast, and sugar for the coffee. Given the other reviews saying nighttime service is bad too, I don't know if we'd come back.

Yelp
I was here for Restaurant week which does it justify for subpar service? Or was it we were not Caucasian? The server seem to be more tentative towards other tables. First of all, we were never offered a wine list?? I had to ask for it so I can order a bottle of wine. The hosting was whacked. They didn't even preset the table for our party size which I thought was abnormal for a upscale restaurant. They took a way one setting and chair as we sat down at the table. 2nd of all, on top of the prefixe we ordered 12 raw cherrystones. when the first course came, my party was wondering why the clams didn't come first. I gave the benefit of the doubt that the server wanted that out after the salad/soup. After all, soup is first course! Well, after we were done with this, they placed the dinner settings down... so I thought I'd remind the server about my clams before I get pissed off. He gracefully runs to the kitchen. Seriously, it prolly took an hour before we reached to our dinner course. As dinner came along, I asked for ketchup and sugar for my fries. I patiently waited for 10 mins. My peeps noticed that he was just standing around or tending other tables. So again, I stopped him for my damn ketchup and sugar so I can eat dinner! At this point I was pissie cuz he was not busy and he forgot 2x already. We all decided that his lack of actions will reflect on his tips. Is it a new trend that we pour our own bottle after the initial? Or I was just spoiled by some restaurants in the past? Time to talk about the food, right. I had steak and fries which came out perfect and tender. But the peeps that ordered the seafood dish, they all said it was too salty. One of them even added water from her water glass! The cherrystones were tiny. Size of littlenecks. The scallop salad was tasty. They give a good sized scallop so I can steal a bite from my mom! All in All, I wouldn't come back here. We left a 15% tip instead of our normal 20%.

Yelp
Its not about how you fall but how you get up. In past visits, we had the buona fortuna of enjoying a tour of what was the lovely, lovely, LOVELY decor, the olive room and its majestic table and olive oil chandelier. The brunch they once had, has changed, but the food is flawless nonetheless. Its mothers day 2015, and they charge $68 pp for a 3 course menu. I'd love to post pictures of the beautiful food and the INCREDIBLE dessert spread. But we were sat in the table in the land that people forgot, and we suffered from head scratching and A-typical "they forgot us in a corner" service. But the food was delectable other than the delicious house-cured salmon came out with a perfectly toasted (AND COLD) bagel. PERFECT Crab cakes. Hefty, yet delicately dressed burrata salad. Amazingly delicate and delicious nicoise salad, and a scrumptious duck breast! But I would also have to post pictures of the back bench, on the table time forgot, with the moldy and TORN/WORN seating, floor covered with bacon and cantaloup from the early morning crowd and a torn upholstry. N A S T Y. Its mothers day, and I didn't want my family to feel bad about their choice. Because I love the food, and their Manager Kathia is simply adorable. But we should've moved tables. PRONTO. We had a chat with Katia, who was horrified that I had the willies sitting where I was. She did ask "what can I do to make it better", but I think her horror and embarrassment for a situation that is out of her hands (If the hotel doesn't invest in broken chairs to be fixed...) and her control. So I tweeted. And IHG cut me off by sending me to the HOTEL GM. 5 stars for service. Customer service. NO, we didn't chew and screw. We paid. $225 for a brunch. On a GORGEOUS Mothers Day morning. With a city view. In a beautiful hotel. In the back of the room. Where time forgot it and us. Where the managers would NEVER sit their OWN mothers. I hope they clean it up. Because it would be sad that this GREAT restaurant continue to decay without love...

Yelp
As a local, I usually stay away from hotel restaurants. But I love the Spa at the Hotel InterContinental so I can kill two birds with one stone by going to Miel before or after my massage. The food is pleasantly flavorful & fresh, doesn't taste like an overpriced, bland hotel meal. I always judge a restaurant by its salad dressings, and they have very tasty dressings. The view is phenomenal, right on the waterfront, the environment is a bit chi-chi with its French provencal look, but it's a decent place for a nice meal.

Yelp
I had asked the concierge at the intercontinental for recommendations for a romantic dinner place close to the hotel before Red was back to work for the week. Among other really really nice suggestions, Miel was suggested. We took the advice because it was easy - attached to the hotel and would allow for a delightful waterfront stroll afterwards. I must say - armstrong (I think was his name) was a stand out. He made us feel welcome and exuded a warmness. Too bad he was just the guy who gave us water and bread (and picked up our waiter's slack). We sat outside - which was really nice. Nice ambiance and view of the harbor. People watching was great. We had plenty of time to people watch as we waited for our waiter on several occasions. One of my favorite things to do is ask the staff about stand outs on the menu - it gives a good chance to interact and get to know the menu from people who should know it best. Red inquired about the ribs, the steak frites, and the gnocchi. The informational equivalent of his response was "the ribs are good. They come with potatoes gratin". I mean - we can read... Just looking for another opinion... The gnocchi was light and fluffy with a delicate flavor which was overpowered by the sundried tomatoes. Red's ribs were surprisingly lacking potatoes. (I even had her check under the ribs) when she inquired about them, the waiter also asked "are they under the ribs?" I wish that all servers knew what their dishes should look like. Nope - no potatoes anywhere. Red did eventually get them (looking a little sad on a tiny little side plate). Both dishes were... Good. But you know what just pushed it over the edge? Not the waiting. Not the distant waiter. Not the absent potatoes. It was finding six cents at the bottom of my sangria. I started picking the fruit out of my sangria during one of the waits for our waiter. I tipped my glass and saw what I thought was a smushed blueberry at the bottom of the glass - I reached for it to discover it was... A nickel. The reflection of the blueberries made it blend in. I laughed for a full two minutes at the absurdity. Thank goodness I was drinking from a straw... Can't imagine having to spit that out after a nice big sip. Red notified our server - who did take it off our bill. She the lifted the glass, as a joke, to check for more money. There now at the bottom was another penny. Really? I know it was only psychosomatic but I got this metallic taste in my mouth... The waiter assured me that he made the drink himself - fresh! That it must have come from the ice when he scooped it. I don't doubt it but still... Left with a bad taste in my mouth and have no desire to go back.

Yelp
As everyone else has mentioned, be prepared for a long, slow experience. However, the quality of the food and the environment are worth the wait. Dined there on a recent Saturday night with my family. We started with Crab cake, Lobster & Clam chowder and shrimp cocktail. Each was delicious. The crab cake came with a guacamole topping and a pesto cream sauce. It was amazing. For dinner i had the jumbo scallops which were plump and mouth watering. My wife had a seafood (Provincetown) combo while the kids had mini-burgers and portions of our entree's. For dessert we split a chocolate mousse trifle. We devoured it. Again, the only complaint was the slow service. We dined fairly early and it was almost empty. I would have liked a 2nd glass of wine with my entree but by the time the waiter came back, i was basically done with my meal. Came back with my family again on 10/14. Service was much better and the food again was delicious!!

Yelp
A truly beautiful restaurant, although we elected to sit outside, as the patio overlooks the harbor. Dinner began with elderflower cocktails, 6 raw oysters (served with pickled shallots, horseradish, and cocktail sauce), which were fresh, briny, and delicious. The main course was a true revelation though--short ribs so tender that they collapsed at the mere brush of my fork. stewed with carrots, tomatoes and radish in a decadent, rich, dark red wine/citrus, these were complex flavors for such a deceptively simple dish. Potatoes au gratin--crisp and gooey--were a delicious complement to the short ribs and the red wine jus mingled divinely with the layers of potato and gruyere. Presentation was straightforward and unfussy. Service was mediocre--inattentive but not rude, by any means. I mentioned that dinner began with cocktails, and by the time appetizer plates were cleared away, the cocktails had been drained, but we were not given additional wine menus or invited to order another beverage. By the time our waiter returned to check in (as our entrees were delivered by another employee), we were halfway through our entrees, though admittedly, that didn't keep us from ordering more wine.

Yelp
The truffle fries.... ma-YUM-ba! I like this place. A good attempt of a Brasserie in Boston. Not perfect, but it does the trick. Great non-stuffy casual ambience with windows facing the water channel and the Children's Museum on the other side. Sure it's not the greatest view on the planet, but I still like looking at water when I dine. Service was good, and on par with what you'd expect from the Intercontinental. Food wasn't bad at all: 1) Mini Lobster rolls. You'd think this would be standard among every other place serving seafood, but these were REALLY good. They came with sweet potato fries, and one of the few places in Boston where they stand out. 2) Really liked the Onion soup au gratin. Not the most Frenchy of onion soups, and I think I detected some chablis in the broth, but it did the trick, and I'd definately order it again. 3) They serve sushi here, and I was a bit nervous about ordering it in a brasserie, but you know what? Not bad at all. I had the caterpillar roll (eel/avocado/cucumber/tobiko) and spicy tuna roll. I'd give it a 3.5 to 4 star rating on a scale of 5. 4) Tuna tartare. Mom finished the whole thing by herself and I was unable to taste it, but let me tell you... mom has the most demanding of palates when it comes to sashimi or fish, and if she liked it, it's a must-order for next time. 5) Crab cakes. Decent. Not the best, but decent, and yes, could be ordered again. 6) Kids had mac & cheese (waaaaaaaay too cheesy for my taste, and nowhere as good as California pizza kitchen), and chicken fingers. Meh, normal stuff, BUT.... the chicken fingers came with the truffle fries which were to DIE for. If anything, I'd come here again JUST FOR THE FRIES! 7) Dessert.... ok... fail. Vanilla creme brulee was very average. The fruit and berry bowl had great berries, but the rest of the fruit tasted like it needed another week on the trees. Total for all this before tip was about $140. Yes, a bit steep, but mom enjoyed it, and I was looking for something that the whole family could enjoy. Service was excellent, and we all left happy.

Yelp
Amazing and extremely nice experience! when I visit Miel i get to enjoy the roots of food and traditional yet unique tasty cooking! First the head chef David Chinta came and introduce himself and provided us a description of the food, and cooking technique. I was amazed by his knowledge and skills! He offered 2 complimentary dish - Tuna Tartar Marinated with Tomatoes, Avocado, Black Olive and a complimentary amuse bouche Desert Chocolate creme DeMint. The chocolate was so intense and rich!!! I loved it ! (the picture that I have uploaded does not give a fair review of the tastiness and richness of the chocolate) As entree I took Pan seared Atlantic Cod. It is very fresh yet The fish melts it is one of the best fish that I have tasted! He adds to it anchovy butter. My friend took a Pitsou soup (Vegetables and Basil Soup) and ratatouille as a side- the ratatouille I tasted it is so fresh!! it reminded me of the movie The service was top quality - Stephen did a great job. They make me always feel home It is just another level of Restaurant!!! my best!!

Yelp
Came here for dinner. Had the duck leg confit with white bean. The duck is sweet. Taste OK but a little bit dry inside. White bean is not bad. My husband ordered the steak which in overpriced compared with the ones that you get from a steakhouse. The atmosphere is nice. You can see the water right outside the window. They also offer seats outdoor. It's a good option when the weather is good. The service is really slow. The waiter thought we ordered the dessert but we didn't. He took it off the bill at the end, but he should not mess up at the first place. It's a Ok Ok restaurant. The food is just ok. I don't really want to go back.

Yelp
I was disappointed on my recent visit to Miel for brunch. We called in ahead they said they had seats available for our party of 6. When we arrived the host had already reserved & cleared a table for us & we were seated without having to wait for the whole group to come, which is great but there were certain communication gaps between hosts/servers as they weren't quite sure where to seat us even though the main host had already informed them of where to seat us. But his can be excused since we didn't have a reservation but then again can it be excuse since the expectations of a place associated with a chain like intercontinental are pretty high. On top of that we were given 1 brunch menu & the rest were lunch menu. When we informed the person who served us water about that he said he would bring out the other ASAP & then that person disappeared never to be seen again (presumably bcz his shift ended or something like that but man during brunch time how can a shift end). The next server was told about this & we finally got our brunch menus after about 12-15 minutes. Wasn't thoroughly impressed by the menu, but whatever we ordered was pretty good. The baked French toast was different esp if u r not used to this version, although I liked it esp with the honey. Would recommend the honey basted beignets, they were really good. They actually make their own honey which was very pleasant to the taste. Friends ordered the Steak & eggs, crab cake Benedict, Pan Bagnat Niçoise Sandwich (Tuna) & Parisian Beef Burger and all were satisfied with their orders. Coffee was really good as well. All in all not impressed, food was good but apart from that it was a disappointing outing, really expected much more from a place like this.
