Went for my husband's birthday. Staff is very friendly and nice and very attentive. Our water server (i believe his name was anon?) was so polite, and not only continually made sure our glasses were full but asked what else he could do or if there was anything else we needed.
The food was good. We enjoyed the corn Elote appetizer, (approx. 8 corn ribs) it was flavorful and we liked the sauce on top. I will say however, given it is basically one smaller single ear of corn cut up and topped with sauce and cheese, $14 seems a bit steep of a price. I had the birria tacos, which were very juicy and came with two types of consume, one spicy, one not, which is a nice touch. It does come with a side of beans but they are served in a small dipping cup you would normally receive condiments in. My husband had the enchiladas and said he enjoyed them. The fried ice cream we had for dessert was standard if a bit plain. I think they need to add something to it such as perhaps, caramel or chocolate sauce. They did add a Roman candle for his birthday and serve it on dry ice which was a thoughtful touch. The only thing I was truly disappointed in however, was the salsa served with the chips. The texture, taste, and consistency all equated to canned tomato sauce to me with seasonings added. Now, I'm not saying that's what they actually do; however, when I was a broke college student I used to make salsa using canned tomato sauce and some garlic salt and red pepper flakes, and this was exactly pretty much the same thing but with different seasonings, so if it's not, I'll be really surprised. For what seems to be a higher end Mexican restaurant I would think that they would at least have a decent quality fresh salsa. Overall we had a nice time and enjoyed our meal. I don't know that it's somewhere that we would be rushing back to go to again, but if someone we knew wanted to go there we wouldn't say no. They have some great dishes and the food we did have we enjoyed overall, I just think they have some things they need to work and improve upon.
