Yelp
Mighty Fine is a great name for the place because it resembles the Mighty Sharp barber shop - great atmosphere, but I think as both Prince Akeem and a young Cuba Gooding jr can attest to, there's not as much substance as you want before they say "that'll be eight dollars"
Mighty Fine kept popping up on lists as burgers in ATX that you have to try so I feel like (coming to america references aside) it's like a fun family BBQ backyard type burger. Not that there's anything wrong with it, and I certainly would return. But am I going to recommend it to folks, ehhh not so much.
The biggest I think is the value proposition - so i went with the 1/4 burger, at $6.50 (w/cheese) is 18% more expensive than a similar burger at Shake Shack in the Domain. I'd argue the Shake Shack is much better. And from a taste perspective I would probably go to P Terry's, In n Out etc over MFB as well.
I am no expert yet in Austin, but i think when you get to the 1/2 lb category in the $9-$10 range there's alot of competition. That's not to say I think it's expensive, even at $11.50 with fries. Not so bad, but again, from what I am reading it's crowded in that mid-tier price range and it's also tempting to pay up for the higher class steakhouse burger as well.
It' just an overcooked slab of beef on an HEB bun - like I said, backyard BBQ style when your accountant buddy puts down turbo tax in April to show his friends he can also man the grill (and is looking for extra writeoffs from the meat and potato salad purchases kinda like Rick Moranis in Ghostbusters). So it's good, but not great.
Atmosphere and service though is fantastic. I like the family style tables, friendly and efficient service.
Lastly, and I hate to say it, the fries are not good, and I'd pass on ordering them again.
