5 Things Not to Miss at the Bourse Food Hall in Philadelphia’s Historic District | Eater Philly

"A grilled-cheese concept from Sam Jacobson (of Stargazy) and baker Chris DiPiazza that elevates sandwiches with combinations like brie, prosciutto di Parma, marmalade, and arugula; avocado, cured duck egg yolk, and pickles; and gouda, smoked ham, and roasted poblano-peach jam, with soups, sides, and fries also available." - Rachel Vigoda

Pretty busy place almost all the tables were taken thats how you know a place is good! Lot's of different sandwiches available from chicken to pastrami, healthy chips available. Soup and spuds of course and don't forget the Cookies and Cobbler. The meal deals are the way to go love that it's an option: Sandwich, chips and a drink. The bread is amazing you can taste the freshness! Will definitely be back to try a different sandwich next time.

So the People of Sedalia voted for me to visit Mighty Melt! After eating there, I totally understand why. The bread here is worth visiting on it's own. We tried a few of their recommendations and I'm glad we did. There is such a sense of pride here and community. The low rumbles of conversations from the packed lobby, the soft laughter from the staff because they're all in great spirits. This is the kind of place you quickly become a regular at, or definitely take out of town guests to experience. The potato's are cooked perfect, and the right size. Soft, savory, packed with delicious toppings. The sandwiches, are the exact balance of everything listed on your order. The Bread will make you think pilows from God, but dense also, and tender, but chewy too? It's such a masterpiece of everything. The Staff will steal the show if you let them. Eager to brag about the 40 years in business and to share their favorite items which is helpful. Also, a Potato Soup that will have you lying to your Mom when you tell her "hers is the best" 😉 Mighty Melt was a big win, with small city vibes. An easy choice for a stellar meal with a really decent price tag. Enjoy!. Feel free to check us out on social media. Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram for easy cooking videos and reviews. 😃

OMG outstanding. Thought "hey a sandwich sounds good" my Lord have mercy was amazing. I got the super combo maxi. And was not disappointed. 10 out of 10.

I’m about 2 1/2 hours away from home and my friend brought me here! Best choice she could have made. The staff was friendly and informative. We got our food quickly and it was sooo good! I recommend the polish melt.

Google
Great place to grab a sandwich with homemade bread. I got the original with ham and salami.

The picture of the food didn't show how good it looked and tasted.

We don't get to eat her much as were 60 miles away (Blue Springs), but when we pass thru we always stop. Today we made a special trip as the wife was craving an Original MaxiMelt so off we went on a 120 mile round trip. Everyone is super friendly and prompt, sure it takes a while as they make each sandwich fresh and toasted to melt the cheese. The wife always gets the Maxi so she can take 3/4 home for later. Note that Maxi appears to be 12 inches x 10 inches and cut into 6 pieces! That is a monster sandwich. I go the simple route and the Turkey Club regular is my choice. Stop by and visit them, yes it takes a little while to prepare your sandwich but it's fresh and worth the wait. (they have super clean restrooms)

I went to Mighty Melt for the first time yesterday, the ladies working were very friendly and my lunch was delicious! I went back again today 😅

Yelp
Visited this Mighty Melton January 23rd. I was half way done with my first half sandwich and pulled a hair out of my mouth with food attached. I was so grossed out that I chose to believe it might be my hair. Then my boyfriend was eating his sandwich and the same thing happened to him. It grossed me out so bad I had to go into the bathroom with dry heaves. They refunded our money but that's not the point. I thought wearing hairnets was a food service law in Mo. no one was wearing a hairnet. I will never eat there again

Yelp
Service excellent food excellent star superb I went to lunchtime, my friend I. It was very very busy, but the service was absolutely super didn't have to wait long from for our food. I will go there again thank you so much.

Yelp
Really good sandwiches and soups. Try to stop in every time I get a chance, great spot when it's a little chilly outside

Yelp
I have loved Mighty Melt for years!! I ordered a Mighty Turkey Melt. It's served as 4 big squares and was enough for 2 of us. It is so flavorful!! My favorite part are the garlic mushrooms. I called ahead and then picked it up in their convenient drive thru. If you're not eating there, I would definitely call ahead or you may be waiting awhile.

Yelp
If you are looking for a sandwich shop that is different then Mighty Melt is the place! Their sandwiches are unique with the homemade bread. Their soups are always good and hot. Absolutely one of my favorite places to eat in Sedalia.

Yelp
Closed, opened up by new owners, it's just not the same. The bread recipe is not the same or they're not following it correctly trying to cut corners. The Irish soda bread makes Mighty Melt. That's the signature item. This bread is now hard and firm, like chewing on dried play dough. It's dense not the light crumb of the original bread. Without the bread it will not have the same success. And get some bottles of hot sauce for god sakes, you serve Chili. Who runs a restaurant and has that kind of an oversight.

Yelp
The sandwiches here are unparalleled, unrivaled and amazingly delicious. I'm so glad they reopened.

Yelp
Sandwich was fantastic! Bread was perfectly soft and the right amount of chewy. Definitely looking forward to another soon. Service was very kind, attentive, and personable. Their mission statement is on the menu, and you can tell they take it to heart. The Spud was decent, but the skin was burnt. I'll give it a break because it was the last hour of business, and I'll try another next time.

Yelp
I finally had the opportunity to try this place and was greatly disappointed. We (three of us) ordered four potatoes with a variety of toppings and they just were not good. Some of the issues included they were cold, quality of toppings, amount of toppings, and even the potato quality! The meat on the potatoes looked like chopped up thin lunch meat. I was expecting some good potatoes because it's a "spud" shop but we ended up throwing out the extras. I have never had "loaded" potatoes this bad. I would suggest trying another place if you want a nice potato.

Yelp
Great little lunch spot. I love a good baked potato and this place delivers. I had the broccoli and cheese baked potato and added ham. It was very good, but I wish the cheese was shredded and melted instead of a sauce form. The bread is homemade, so I couldn't resist ordering a small piece and it was delicious!

Yelp
So good, we love this place. When we come in town to visit family we always have to get some. My favorite is the original mini with some cheese bread. Sooooo good. It is all in the bread and the toasting process. Sorry no pics the sandwiches didn't survive long enough

Yelp
My son and I went here for lunch and the food was amazing. I had the super and he had a grilled cheese. He told me the grilled cheese was a 10 out of 10 and we should do dinner here tomorrow?!!!

Yelp
How are they still open??? Potatoes are always cold. The short small girl at the grill is rude and can't make a sandwich right EVER!!!! All i ask for is to skip mustard and they Dave even die that.

Yelp
Had the turkey club and potato bacon soup and it was delicious! Bread was so tasty. Place was full on a Saturday at 1:30pm. Always a good sign. Will be back!

Naomi F.

Yelp
BOMB! So good! Literally my husbands and I'd favorite sandwiches. Spuds are good. Salad is good (if you're a vegetarian make sure to tell them 5 times or else you'll get ham or another meat on your garden salad)

Yelp
Mighty Melt is a true Sedalia icon - take it from a local! Delicious, from-scratch sandwiches with hometown service. This is not your normal sandwich, people! I love going in the cold weather since their sandwiches are of the warm and toasty persuasion. The turkey melt is my favorite with warm deli turkey, lettuce, mushrooms, mustard, and melty cheese. It's a small shop, but has plenty of seating and is very clean. They've been in business a long time, and I hope the tradition continues!

Yelp
I went in Friday and let me tell you.... these ladies are a mess. I miss seeing a girl there who usually seemed to be first at the grill next to register. I wonder what happened. Her friendliness and respect for customers always made me want to go in. Now there's a short girl up there more often always giving dirty looks like she's disgusted. Makes me not want to go there.

Caine J.

Yelp
Great food but they are kind of slowwwwww, got a sandwich and spud and took about 10 min to get out. We were the only people in there
google avatar

Kaitlyn P.

Yelp
We always get this to go... They are very friendly and the food is excellent! My favorite item is the polish sausage sandwich!

Yelp
Just finished a Mini Original during our first visit to Mighty Melt - delicious. Very reminiscent of Schlotzky's, but frankly better. Hot and tasty. Will definitely stop by again the next time we're in town to visit the Daum.

Mary G.

Yelp
This was a great find on Yelp! Supreme Nacho Salad was wonderful. My friend had polish sausage sandwich, loved it. Bread is homemade. Very clean, polite, efficient help. Unique, give it a try!

Yelp
Food was very good. Service was fast and friendly. Prices are good for what you get. Would of gave them 5 but the ice tea was old and had that odd flavor it gets when it isn't fresh.

Yelp
As someone with a gluten intolerance I enjoy the fact that Might Melt offers a wide variety of baked potato and topping combos. I am not worried about cross-contamination with wheat products, but if you are, this might not be the best place because the sandwiches are made right along side the spuds. I also though some of the toppings were a little too greasy, but that's my own fault for choosing the combination that I did.

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
GREAT! Sandwiches! We would drive from Kansas City to Sedalia every day if we could to eat here! Friendly service too!

Ed T.

Yelp
I finally tried this location for the first time. It's a great idea to support local businesses but I had complete price shock after walking in for the first time. I felt rushed even though no one was behind me in line. I also quickly gathered that the cashier assumed I knew all about the menu. After paying for the sandwich meal I waited and waited. The sauce was disappointing on the sandwich and wish It was not on the sandwich. The location is "ok" but the menu is minimal and pricy. Not a place I would frequent. Sorry but this place seems routine in its approach and limited. The cashier should ask more questions about the order / what to leave on or exclude.

John S.

Yelp
The food is good. The big problem is there is no customer service. The decor is 1970.

Danny D B.

Yelp
unique cocept, soda bread sandwitch with cheese melted on the bread. would have been great but the meatballs were from a bag not home made, the combo melt sliced meat was old it was brown the lettuce and tomato was dated also. the only thing worth eating is the polish . will never go back a waste of time and money .yuck it is pure trash .
