"A couple years ago Brooklyn BBQ blew up. Suddenly everyone was driving smokers up from Texas and throwing brisket over coals from Red Hook to Williamsburg to Gowanus and everywhere else they could find enough space. Restaurants like Hometown and Morgan’s were the talk of BBQ fans all over town, and deservedly so. They were f*cking revelations. Fletcher’s Brooklyn BBQ opened around that same time, but the buzz seemed to fall off quickly. Fletcher’s is a traditional American cue with influences from all over the map. We got some hints of Texas, Carolina, and the Midwest. The people behind it care about their meats, and only source it from farms that take good care of their animals. Like most BBQ joints, it’s counter service, and has great craft beers on tap and a small but well-curated selection of whiskeys. In 2006, Fletcher’s would have been one of the best BBQ options in town. But unfortunately, Fletcher’s meats just aren’t as memorable as some of the others. That being said, we’d happily eat it anytime. The standard is set pretty high nowadays, but this is still some solid ‘cue. Pulled pork, either on its own or in a sandwich, is the best thing on the menu, followed by the hot links. We’re all for a fatty piece of brisket, but not one where you have to cut half the piece off because it’s blubbery jello. Also, most of the ‘cue needs BBQ sauce. Bad. The pork ribs are a bit too dry, and while the rub flavors are excellent, it’s not until they’re smothered with sauce that really good things start to happen. Not a tragedy by any means, and their sauce is sweet and smoky heaven, but the mark of great BBQ is that it shouldn’t need to be sauced to be awesome. The bottom line is that Fletcher’s is an excellent local option for anyone who lives in or around the Gowanus hood, but it’s not worth going out of your way for, unless you’re BBQ crawling BK like it’s the outskirts of Austin. In that case, the Fletcher’s pulled pork needs to be on your trail map. Food Rundown Half Rack Of St. Louis Ribs The rub is fantastic: smoky, flavorful, bold. But the rib itself is dry. Enter, Fletcher’s A+ BBQ sauce. Lather her up and enjoy. Burnt Ends Very disappointing. Fatty cubes of what seemed to just be sliced-up fatty brisket – not the overly-charred, perfectly caramelized actual ends of the meat. This was confusing. Pulled Pork Best thing on the menu. Fletcher’s pulled pork is seeping with moisture, flavor, and chunky flakes of burnt bark. Definitely go big here, and probably also get it on a sandwich. Brisket Inconsistent. That’s how we’ll describe the brisket. The first time we came here, it was way, way, way too fatty. Like, half of each slice had to go in the garbage. That’s just sad. Another time, it wasn’t necessarily too fatty, it was just a little dry. So, yeah…not our favorite brisket. Hot Links This is the other best thing on the menu – hot and spicy sausage done right. Make sure this is on your platter. Mac & Cheese It looks glorious, and it’s worth ordering, but this mac ‘n cheese is in need of salt, stat. It’s very bland tasting without it. Pulled Pork Sandwich As we mentioned above, the pulled pork is ridiculously good. The obvious move is to get it on a sandwich. Pulled Rib Sandwich Speaking of sandwiches, the rib sandwich smothered in sauce and onions ain’t so bad either Banana Pudding If you have enough room for dessert, the banana pudding will end your meal on a sweet note. Do it." - Andrew Steinthal

This was our first time eating in. We tried the lunch special: The Pulled Pork Sandwich with fries & coleslaw. The pork was very tender & delicious. The fries were crunchy & delicious, and soft in the middle. There’s 3 sauces at the table: Spicy Chili Lime, BBQ & SC Mustard. All were complimentary & paired well with the meal! There is indoor and outdoor seating including at the counter. The space is kept clean & the staff were nice & friendly!

Fast and friendly service. There's seating but it seemed to be a mostly to-go place. The chicken wings were the best part of our order, great cook on them, well rendered out. The mac and cheese was also good, cooked al dente and flavorful sauce. The ribs were just ok, didn't have that falling off the bone tenderness and were a bit dry. The brisket was good, although some pieces were also dry. The corn bread was cold, dry, and the worst part of our order.

We’ve spent the last three Thanksgivings getting catering from here, and we treat ourselves to dinner on occasion. I was so distraught when I missed the catering deadline so i ordered whatever was available. I nearly cried today when the wonderful staff gave us a whole turkey to feed our family because the amount I ordered wasn’t enough 😭 Every single interaction I’ve had with the staff here has been so warm and welcoming, everyone is always so kind to us. I wanted to leave a review so the owners know they made great staffing decisions and their food is out of this world. it’s not often you get service like this nowadays, thank you for everything!!!

The meat was delicious! Unfortunately some of my take out spilled in my bag (seeped through the cardboard container and paper bag) BUT what I could salvage of my mac and cheese, brisket, and pulled pork was amazing. Will definitely be back. I did a dinner special and it was less than $20 for 2 meats and sides which is a great deal. Definitely want to come back and try more.

I got the 2 meal platter and a side of bbq wings (6 piece) and a hard apple cider. I don’t usually like beer or a lot of ciders but this one was pretty good and it came in a can. Would be cool to see them get some ciders on tap but I’m happy with the can as well. The bbq wings and brisket were really incredible. With each bite the brisket practically melts in your mouth and the little flakes of sea salt or kosher salt (I’m not sure which one lol) were a nice touch. The size of the wings were perfect, flavor and seasoning was balanced, texture was juicy when you bit into it and just the right amount of crispiness on the skin. The ribs were pretty good too, they could have maybe been slightly more juicy. The cornbread is the one thing I wish I hadn’t gotten tbh. It was very dry and just didn’t really have the texture and flavor I was looking for. The service was perfect, they were very attentive but not overly watchful and I didn’t feel rushed throughout my meal. Towards the end of my meal I noticed one of the staff realized that a customer forgot their to-go order on the counter and left in a cab. The worker rushed out to give them their food but was too late. The manager noticed this and in an attempt to provide the best customer service I’ve ever seen, he literally hopped into his car and tracked the cab down a couple of blocks away and was able to get the customer their food. I’ve never seen customer service quite like this. I will be coming here regularly especially with it being in the neighborhood. I highly recommend you do the same.

The food is consistent here! They staff is great, kind of hard to dine in because parking in the area isn't good. But we grab and good, and return for more lol.

Earlier today I visited Mighty Quinn’s BBQ with my family, and I have to say, the experience was made even better by Richard. We were not sure what to try on the menu this time and Richard at the front stepped in, walked us through what his best offers would be for today and we all agreed on burnt ends. They were great! Pretty rare to find so we were very pleased with his recommendation and service overall , we hope everyone who visits the store gets to experience it :)
