The Best Bars In Dallas - Dallas - The Infatuation

"From the outside, Mike’s looks like a dive, but it’s really more of a “dive,” with comfortable bar stools, leather booths, clean bathrooms, and genuinely good spirits, so you can get a solid martini or Old Fashioned. But most people are here for the laid-back atmosphere—note the roped-off stripper pole still standing from the bar’s past life—kicking back with Miller High Life and wagyu hot dogs (the only item on the nonexistent food menu). In a welcome twist, those dogs don’t hit the roller until you order them, so they’re always fresh, even when you’re swinging through late at night. Pair with a shot of Malört if you’ve got a devil-may-care attitude toward your taste buds." - kevin gray

The Best Dive Bars In Dallas | Eater Dallas

"This spot down in the Cedars has the vibe of a dive but specializes in the classic cocktails of a much fancier spot. And it’s got hot dogs (wagyu, jalapeno cheddar, and brisket) that keep folks coming back." - Eater Staff

A Laid-Back New Neighborhood Bar Debuts in the Cedars Today | Eater Dallas

"A no-frills new neighborhood bar in the Cedars just south of Downtown, Mike’s Gemini Twin is officially ready to begin serving drinks at 1902 South Harwood Street, opening Thursday, February 14 at 4 p.m. and operating daily from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Co-owned by Sam Wynne (who owns Bowls & Tacos and Braindead Brewing) and bar veteran Pasha Heidari (owner of Bowen House), the spot is intended as a low-key place for area residents to grab a beer, sip a cocktail, or shoot some pool. The name is a vintage Dallas reference to a long-shuttered drive-in called the Gemini Twin. Expect a full bar and wine, “a couple” of Braindead Brewing beers on tap, and numerous bottled beers — not fancy craft cocktails — and no printed menus yet." - Amy McCarthy

So, we had a misunderstanding with getting hotdogs. Too complicated to say here. But, we gave up on the food and they solved the issue eventually. They ran outside across the street as we were about to leave, and they gave us our hot dogs 30 seconds before the uber arrived. I got to go home with the hot dogs! They really cared about solving issues. They a good people and want everyone to have a great time. Ya’ll are the best!

Hot dog is ok. Bartenders are generally pretty good but if management wants to put their playlist on after a certain time to keep their "vibe" going then just let everybody know. Also, a little overpriced but whatever

Visited Gemini Twin Lounge for the first time last night. How fun! Swanky, uber-cool digs! Took a seat at the bar, and Ivy poured me a mighty fine Old-Fashioned! Enjoyed myself a hot dog too. A BRISKET hot dog! So good! Next time, I'll get the Wagyu Beef! Friendly staff. Friendly regulars. Perfect tunes playing overhead, including Stevie Ray Vaughan (BIG Win for me ;)). Had a great time, and I'll definitely be back. Thank you Luxury Gift Envelope for the introduction.

Favorite dive in Dallas! Dirty martinis, touch tunes and a pool table make for a great night.

This bar holds a special place in my heart; it's a true local favorite. Moving away from Dallas made me realize how much I missed its laid-back, dive-bar charm. The atmosphere is consistently welcoming and fun. While the beer selection has evolved, and the legendary $8 Hamm's pitchers are now a memory, it remains a reliable spot for a relaxed beer with friends. What truly stands out is their surprisingly delicious hot dogs. Despite my general aversion to them, theirs are always freshly made, generously topped, and make for a perfect, no-fuss happy hour meal with a side of chips. The array of board games provides a welcome alternative to simply chatting, and the staff are always friendly and conversational, especially if you're flying solo. I have fond memories of their generous free shot promotions for early patrons, a testament to their welcoming spirit. I'm not sure if they still offer them, but it definitely added to the bar's unique appeal.
