Mike’s Gemini Twin is a chill dive bar in the Cedars, serving classic cocktails and tasty wagyu hot dogs in a laid-back, friendly atmosphere.
"From the outside, Mike’s looks like a dive, but it’s really more of a “dive,” with comfortable bar stools, leather booths, clean bathrooms, and genuinely good spirits, so you can get a solid martini or Old Fashioned. But most people are here for the laid-back atmosphere—note the roped-off stripper pole still standing from the bar’s past life—kicking back with Miller High Life and wagyu hot dogs (the only item on the nonexistent food menu). In a welcome twist, those dogs don’t hit the roller until you order them, so they’re always fresh, even when you’re swinging through late at night. Pair with a shot of Malört if you’ve got a devil-may-care attitude toward your taste buds." - kevin gray

"This spot down in the Cedars has the vibe of a dive but specializes in the classic cocktails of a much fancier spot. And it’s got hot dogs (wagyu, jalapeno cheddar, and brisket) that keep folks coming back." - Eater Staff
"Mike’s Gemini Twin Lounge is another cocktail bar owned by Pasha Heidari." - Courtney E. Smith
"Mike’s Gemini Twin, a no-frills new neighborhood bar in the Cedars district just south of Downtown, is officially ready to begin slinging drinks. Co-owner Sam Wynne tells Eater that the bar will kick open the doors at 1902 South Harwood Street on Thursday, February 14, just in time for some laid-back Valentine’s Day boozing. The new bar is a partnership between Wynne, who owns Bowls & Tacos and Braindead Brewing, and fellow bar veteran Pasha Heidari, who owns Bowen House. The no-frills bar is intended to serve as a low-key spot for the area’s residents to grab a beer, sip a cocktail, or shoot some pool. Wondering where the name comes from? It’s a vintage Dallas reference, according to CultureMap, referring to a long-shuttered drive-in movie theatre called the Gemini Twin. As far as the boozy offerings are concerned, don’t expect a fancy craft cocktail. At Mike’s, a full bar, wine, a “couple” of Braindead Brewing beers on tap, and numerous bottled beers will be on offer, according to Wynne. “It’s just a little neighborhood bar,” Wynne says. “Beer, wine, liquor — no printed menus or anything yet.” Mike’s Gemini Twin officially kicks open the doors at 4 p.m. on Thursday, and will be open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily." - Amy McCarthy
