"From the outside, Mike’s looks like a dive, but it’s really more of a “dive,” with comfortable bar stools, leather booths, clean bathrooms, and genuinely good spirits, so you can get a solid martini or Old Fashioned. But most people are here for the laid-back atmosphere—note the roped-off stripper pole still standing from the bar’s past life—kicking back with Miller High Life and wagyu hot dogs (the only item on the nonexistent food menu). In a welcome twist, those dogs don’t hit the roller until you order them, so they’re always fresh, even when you’re swinging through late at night. Pair with a shot of Malört if you’ve got a devil-may-care attitude toward your taste buds." - kevin gray

"This spot down in the Cedars has the vibe of a dive but specializes in the classic cocktails of a much fancier spot. And it’s got hot dogs (wagyu, jalapeno cheddar, and brisket) that keep folks coming back." - Eater Staff

"Mike’s Gemini Twin, a no-frills new neighborhood bar in the Cedars district just south of Downtown, is officially ready to begin slinging drinks. Co-owner Sam Wynne tells Eater that the bar will kick open the doors at 1902 South Harwood Street on Thursday, February 14, just in time for some laid-back Valentine’s Day boozing. The new bar is a partnership between Wynne, who owns Bowls & Tacos and Braindead Brewing, and fellow bar veteran Pasha Heidari, who owns Bowen House. The no-frills bar is intended to serve as a low-key spot for the area’s residents to grab a beer, sip a cocktail, or shoot some pool. Wondering where the name comes from? It’s a vintage Dallas reference, according to CultureMap, referring to a long-shuttered drive-in movie theatre called the Gemini Twin. As far as the boozy offerings are concerned, don’t expect a fancy craft cocktail. At Mike’s, a full bar, wine, a “couple” of Braindead Brewing beers on tap, and numerous bottled beers will be on offer, according to Wynne. “It’s just a little neighborhood bar,” Wynne says. “Beer, wine, liquor — no printed menus or anything yet.” Mike’s Gemini Twin officially kicks open the doors at 4 p.m. on Thursday, and will be open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily." - Amy McCarthy

It’s a great dive bar. Happy hour specials are very competitively priced. I enjoy coming in on a weekday when it’s less busy to get myself a hotdog (served till 1:45 am; they’ve got wagyu, jalapeño w/cheese, and brisket dogs). The espresso martinis are also delicious to sip on. Love the attention to detail with their napkins and branded matchbooks. There’s limited parking right in front of the bar entrance. This place is awesome for a night with the besties and there’s also a dancing platform if you’re into that!

Some venues know who they are, and that’s enough! So is the story of Mike’s Gemini Twin. I’ve heard about Mike’s Gemini long before I sashayed through their doors for the first time, and I’m glad I finally did. In my category of venues, Mike’s classifies as a dive bar with crosstown appeal, attracting everyone from pro ballplayers, to stars of the service industry, and socialites such as myself. If you’re looking for a fun time, place to enjoy a cocktail with rare finds, bar-bites, or a game of billiards, all while getting to know some of the coolest people from around town, this is your place. Mike’s Gemini also offers a patio for those who enjoy the outdoors. Maybe this isn’t your neck of the woods, so it can be a little difficult to find the first time, but I did it, so I’m confident you’ll be okay! Xoxo Lorenzo!

Visited Gemini Twin Lounge for the first time last night. How fun! Swanky, uber-cool digs! Took a seat at the bar, and Ivy poured me a mighty fine Old-Fashioned! Enjoyed myself a hot dog too. A BRISKET hot dog! So good! Next time, I'll get the Wagyu Beef! Friendly staff. Friendly regulars. Perfect tunes playing overhead, including Stevie Ray Vaughan (BIG Win for me ;)). Had a great time, and I'll definitely be back. Thank you Luxury Gift Envelope for the introduction.

One of my favorite bars in Dallas. It’s dark, has a pool table and a dartboard, and some of the best bartenders you can find. There is no way to pass up a Wagyu beef hotdog when the aroma’s in the air. Top it off with some rosemary and olive oil chips, and you’re about to have a memorable evening.

Love this spot, its low key, and has ample parking while still being in the down town area. The bartenders are the best! Even when it gets crowded they are responsive and quick. Prices give you a break from the typical high costs of night life in Dallas. It’s fun getting to listen to the different genres people put on the jukebox. Don’t forget to order the HOTDOG 🌭!

Really enjoyed this bar. Came for a date night on a Sunday evening and played pool, darts, and a game of chess. Really enjoyed the ambiance (albeit perfectly low key) and overall vibe. We can’t wait to come back for another date!
