Miko's Italian Ice (Irving Park)

So many delicious flavors. The services is fantastic and so friendly. The ice is flavorful and so fresh. I highly recommend! I’ve been fortunate to have Miko’s out in a catered environment and my favorite thing has been that it’s just as great catered as it is in person! Such an excellent treat!!!

I love their Italian ice because they use real fruits. When you order strawberry, you can see the seeds. When you order mango, you can see the hair. You can taste real fruit flavor and nice texture, none of that artificial flavor. I also like how they offer very small sizes like baby size for just $3, so you can try a lot of different flavors.

I grew up on Taylor st and Mario's lemonade was my place and still is today to get an Italian ice. But today after so many times of passing Miko's I said let me try them out. Amazing Italian ice my combo was coconut with mango incredible you definitely got to visit this spot.

I went last weekend to try this amazing Italian ice. I was not disappointed!!! They are perfect for this summer as they are so refreshing. I had Watermelon and mango and my boyfriend had coconut and strawberry combo😋 Yummy, we loved them. So we had to come back for a lime and passion fruit combo and he also got a coconut and guava combo, and OMG guava is the bomb. I'm definitely going back for more soon. I highly recommend them ❤️

This place has the best Italian ice. It is flavorful and made just right. Italian ice can be become too icy but this place makes it creamy. They are situated in a neighborhood. There are chairs and a bench.

It’s ultimately a business, but whenever I’ve come here, it feels like I’m just getting Italian ice out of someone’s doorstep because they’re right by residential homes and the employees are extremely friendly. I asked about their hibiscus and the employee offered to give me a sample. I was thinking it would be a small spoon like at ice cream places, but NO I got a a spoonful, literally. Stumbled onto their block party recently, and the owners were friendly and making sure everyone was getting food or being served. It was really nice to see a local business just be part of the community and to see neighbor support echos the kind relationship this place has. I’ve tried lemon, coconut, strawberry, hibiscus, horchata, and pineapple, and each flavor taste fresh and exactly like the fruit it’s described. Oh I also like that they’ll give you two flavors for any size! Helps try new flavors while sticking to some favorites.

Coconut is amazing, real flavor not that fake/artificially flavored coconut stuff u get at other spots. Watermelon was amazing too. Super refreshing and perfect sweetness. Italian ice is perfect on a 90+ degree day when ice cream is just too heavy. looking forward to trying their other flavors!! I think they rotate them so I’ll keep coming by hahah. I’m interested in trying the lime and passion fruit :) Parked easily on kimball and walked up to order through the window. Fast + polite service.

Delicious Italian ice! It is dairy-free and made with real fruit! I had mango & pineapple while my husband had horchata & peach. No whipped cream or dog treats for Franklin but he let it slide! 😉

A friend recommended this quaint Italian Ice shop and what a cute location. There were seatings available outside but not too much. They had a lot of flavors to choose from and I decided on the guava and mango combo. The flavors were fruity and refreshing on a hot summer day! Def hit the spot! The guava was nice because it had that grittiness from the seeds. If you've eaten a guava, you know what I'm talking about. The mango was tart and sweet without that artificial flavoring. This is a great spot to take your friends and family to if you're wanting to cool down from all the heat and humidity!

We love coming here!!! Yummy Italian ice & so refreshing especially on hot days. So many flavors to choose from, and they may add special flavors for a couple of days! It's not a sit down place. Mikos is open seasonally, but it's so worth it when they open. Service is always quick and they are friendly.

Miko's is the best of the best! I keep coming back and love it more every time. The Italian ice is so fresh tasting with excellent flavors. My favorite combo to date is half raspberry half lemon. The mix of a sweet and sour flavor is just perfect!

The best Italian ice! It's much better than the ones I was used to when I was little out of the containers. It's super creamy and all of the flavors are amazing! It's tucked in a neighborhood and the staff is super nice. I even saw them open back up for someone after they closed. The baby is more than enough for me if you're looking for a small sweet treat but you can also add two flavors to any one. I've been back 3 times since I first went there. Will be back!

There is a wide variety of flavors and I love that they change everyday! Served fast and it was so nice to sit outside and enjoy. I had Strawberry and Blueberry, so delicious!

Who doesn't love Italian ice especially on a hot summer day in Chicago. Tried this spot out and it is delicious but it lacks in flavor just a bit for me. It's a very subtle flavor especially the coconut. I got a small combo flavor of strawberry and coconut. The coconut does have shredding coconut flakes. The small was definitely enough. They are very generous with the amount. If you pay in cash, it's couple cent off. Definitely check this Italian ice place out.

It is Italian ice so it's very straightforward.... But there is just something to be said for this neighborhood gem. We came here on the last weekend of this summer (2023)... and it was fantastic. Great and quick service by the friendly lady at the window

Can never go wrong at Miko's! You can taste the fresh ingredients, just the right amount of sweetness. Just the best!

Great place! Service is always great! It's a great small hidden spot in Albany park area. Not many know of it but once you do you keep coming back. I always go even now that I don't live near by.

I tried the mango ice and it was delicious! Not too sweet and tastes like real mango! Ice was fine and not crunchy. It's a simple walk up window and order. No issues with service.

I was super excited to see a Miko's on the way going somewhere because I loved it so much in my 1st experience. However, this location is not as good as the location on Sacramento. The taste is probably the same but the service definitely isn't! The location in Sacramento offered to place a baby size cup in a bigger cup since I was going to eat it in the car. I didn't realize how much I appreciate that experience because I suffered it today. I ordered a baby combo of watermelon & mango. There was a small hint of watermelon on top, then serving of mango, and watermelon serving at the bottom. Very different between the 2 locations because the other one was clear in separation in combos. One flavor separated with the other one that is visible. I ate my baby sized Italian ice in the car. As soon as I took the spoon out (after taking a quick photo for Yelp), a good chunk of Italian ice fell in my dress. It kept dripping and dripping so I ended up eating it as if it was an ice cream cone until it stopped falling apart. Having Sacramento location being my first location, the lady was super nice to me. However, this one was not as nice, considering I was the only patron on a random afternoon. It almost seemed like she was bothered that there was a customer because she was in the middle of something. Because of this experience named above, I didn't enjoy it as much as my first experience.

How have I not written a review on Miko's yet? Oh, that's right it's because I'm super behind on all my reviews. After driving by in the summer and wanting something to help beat the heat we pulled over here just to try it out. The screen window will be closed so ring the bell, don't be like some people who try to open the door, like some people I won't name. My first visit I had the strawberry and lemon flavors as a combo in a medium size, which was large enough. Right away I could get the mild sweetness from strawberry, not the overpowering flavor you get from syrups. The lemon flavor was a nice tart counterpoint to the strawberry and the combined flavors made it something better than if I had got them separately. Our first visit was so good that we made it a point to go and this time got raspberry and pineapple. This time I felt like I would have enjoyed the flavors separately better.

I from the East Coast so water ices in the summer is a must. I'm a big fan of Rita's but this is Chicago and this Italian ice is the best on the north side I could find. Mostly fruit and tropical flavors but looks like this place likes to have fun and add an eclectic flavor from time to time. Love it. I'll be back for more.

Solid Miko's quality in a better neighborhood that's closer to home. Win win! This location takes credit cards too, but charges tax. Kind of messes up the simple $3, $4, $5, $6 pricing, but oh well. Our favorites are banana chocolate chip and mango. Pineapple and strawberry were good too. I didn't see chocolate on the menu when we went, but that is one of my favorites when paired with banana chocolate chip.

We were intrigued by all the flavors of ice, "granita", that Miko's offers. We bought 10 quarts, 10 flavors. We had high expectations! My roommate is very familiar with Italian Ice, as he commented that there were only a few flavors for sale when he was a kid in an Italian neighborhood. We are very disappointed. The HORCHATA is the only flavor we both considered the best, with just the right amount of cinnamon and sugar. The COCONUT, MANGO, PASSION FRUIT, RASPBERRY were ok and have some pure fruit flavor, but the recipe needs work,. The STRAWBERRY, WATERMELON had diluted fruit flavors, and the PINEAPPLE, LEMON and LIME were far too bitter. As we see it, the proportion of fresh fruit flavor to sugar / sweetner is the key problem. Farewell!

I'm still loving having Miko's on the block. They've added paper cups (just ask), so you can avoid styrofoam. THANK YOU. New idea: add an espresso machine and open for the morning rush? The closest coffee shops are on Montrose & Spaulding and Central Park & Irving....which means there's a huge need for fancy coffee in this neck of the woods. I would gladly give you $5 for a latte on my way to the bus stop, and you could be a two-fer (coffee, italian ice) like Nighthawk (coffee, alcohol) and Surge (coffee, pool)... TRIP is begging!

We moved to the neighborhood in the winter time. So, I have been waiting roughly 4 months for Miko's to open up for the warm season. I drive by the Irving Park location every day. One of the first beautiful days of spring (which took forever to show its face) was also one of the first days Miko's was open. I got home and said "We're gettin' shaved ice," and forced Mr. Keelin out the door with me. First time at Miko's was a fail for me. I mixed the banana chip (banana and chocolate chip shaved ice) with coconut, which tasted super weird. I think the banana chip is just not for me in general because I don't want to mix ice, banana, and chocolate chips. Mixing that further with coconut was just no good for me. I see someone else reviewed and said they loved banana chip. I can recognize...it's just not for me. The texture was still delightful. The second time I went back, I had the mango, and it was delightful. I've tried the strawberry and the raspberry as well. I really appreciate the Irving Park location. The inside looks very cute, and they take cards! I will be here A LOT during the warm months.

Love Miko's. Great Italian ice with tons of flavors. Every one we've tried is fabulous. I like the size options, too. Can't go wrong. Especially when it's too hot for ice cream, y'know? Cash, Apple Pay, a few seats. My only complaint would be that they use styrofoam cups. Can't be recycled. Wish they'd use a more earth friendly cup but fingers crossed they'll find a replacement. Delicious!

It's not summer until I get my Miko's Italian Ice! If you're looking for something fruity & refreshing, this is the place to go. Their stuffs are not too sweet and (most or all?!) are non-dairy! P/S: To skip the line, you can order online for pick-up!

One of my favorite parts of summer is when Miko's opens! You can't beat Italian ice on a hot summer day. I've tried most of the flavors and haven't been disappointed yet. Kiwi and strawberry is my favorite combo, next to lemon and....pretty much anything! I want to buy a tub of the lemon and mix it with vodka. Pros: - They take debit and credit cards -They have a variety of sizes -They make small batches of some flavors (kiwi, peach, sour cherry) and update their social media when they're available Cons: - Most of the employees at this location are....meh. They don't seem very friendly, but it's a walk up window so you're not dealing with them much. -The neighborhood is littered with empty styrofoam cups, but that's more of an ignorant customer issue. Maybe another garbage can would help.

One delicious word: MANGO!!! Practically as good as eating a ripe mango but chilled and creamy and WAY better than the paletas sold from ice cream carts at CPD parks. Miko's is da best Italian ice in Chi-town. We're so happy to live only 5 minutes from here. And on days like today where the temps are in the 80s Miko's delivers the goods. Just walk up to the window and place your order. Season just started so flavors are limited but they promised more yummy flavors as the summer fruit season rolls in. During our visit today I ordered a large combo mango and coconut (their best sellers). The Italian ice here is creamy and flavorful from the first spoonful to the very last scrape at the bottom of the cup. It never watered down and for that was worth every penny. We definitely plan to come back often to try their seasonal flavors...hoping to see peach hit the flavor board (hint hint to da Italian ice artists behind-the-scenes). And for those of you who are loyal to other iconic Italian ice stands in our beloved Windy City. Remember, sometimes trying something new can be amazing and refreshing. Come over to Miko's and check it out for yourself. You'll thank me later.

Such a classic for Italian Ice!! I love coming here on a summer night after dinner for a refreshing dessert! I always try a few flavors and like to switch things up, every flavor is good. Pairing something sweet with something tart like raspberry lime is the best!

Love the new location since its walking distance from home! Kind of a odd location since its right in the middle of a residential area but for this kind of business I don't think it matters. Same layout as the other locations. There is a walk up window to take your order and then just post up on the provided chairs and enjoy the summer!

Now all you northwest side dwellers can sidle up to the newest location of the city's best Italian ice! I'm pretty much at the Logan Square location of Miko's 4-5 times a week in the summer, but I had to give some love to their latest location in Irving Park. It's the same deliciousness I've come to know and love, just a little farther north. As with their two other locations, there's a storefront window that you order at, and a few plastic chairs to sit on outside while you enjoy your ice. It's so cute to see all the neighborhood kids and dogs hanging out. Since it's still early in the season, they're only currently offering about 6 flavors; expect that to change as good, seasonal fruit becomes available. But for now, they have lemon (always a classic), strawberry, passion-fruit, mango, coconut, and banana-chip. You can always "make it a combo" and pick two flavors if you're indecisive. The consistency is perfect. It never turns watery as it melts, and it's as smooth as silk. I'm looking forward to trying all my favorite fruit flavors in the coming months: rhubarb, tart cherry, peach, raspberry, blueberry, and watermelon. Ain't nothin' better in the summer than Miko's Italian ice!

I feel like this is a good place to grab a nice Italian ice on a hot or medium hot warm day. Afterward, enjoy a nice walk around the neighborhood. I recommend going with a medium size if you are hungry hungry .. but if you are just hungry.. go with a small size. Raspberry flavor is highly recommended.

I had a sweet tooth. Im not a fan of Italian ice but this place is great!!! My husband loved the passion fruit. I really liked the chocolate and strawberry. Very flavorful! Definitely will be returning.

Oh. My. God. So let me start by saying that I've never gotten the raves over Italian ice. I went to Rita's once and it was just "meh". So when I asked a friend about Miko's and she raved I was skeptical. Well count me among the true believers now. The ice is almost gelato-like in texture and the flavors are outstanding both in selection and taste. They also let you mix flavors (!!!) just like in Italy. I've only been in the city 3 weeks and I've already been here 5 times. Needless to say, I'm a huge fan of Miko's! The prices are a bit high, but worth every penny. Just writing this review is making me want to plan my next trip!

This place is a diamond in the Irving Park neighborhood. There are always plenty of flavors to choose from and you can mix up to 2 different ones with any order. Staff is always friendly and prompt. A great treat on a summer evening stroll.

I use to beg my mom to take me here as a kid. Never did :/ but this summer I've taken the kids here a bunch of times. So many different flavors to choose from. Personally watermelon is my favorite. But if you're willing to try something different definitely go for banana chip!

Summer 2021 we went multiple times a week over the course of our visit with my family (we live in another state and come back for summers) and my kids have not stopped asking when we will go this summer 2022. We can't wait to go back! Great flavors and friendly staff. We will be back this week (early June) and it will be one of our first stops!

They take CARDS! I never carry cash. The fact that my debit or credit card is accepted thrills me almost as much as the flavor options. Every time arriving here there is a delicious novelty waiting to be tried- Coconut! Raspberry! Honeydew! Banana chocolate chip! Refreshing, cool, indulgent, satisfying and perfect on a hot humid summer night even if you refuse to share your selection with your date.

"There are seeds in here" My son stated matter-of-factly at a recent visit. He had chosen the black raspberry and indeed there were raspberry seeds in his Italian Ice and I had to explain to him how that showed the ice was fresh and used fresh ingredients. He happily ate the rest of his ice no more questions asked. And that's all you really need to know about Miko's, great flavors, fresh fruit, great taste. And a refreshing treat to enjoy when the season allows. My favorites so far--coconut, black raspberry and mango. Interesting but still good--the banana chocolate chip. Walk up window with about seating for 10 around scattered around.

So glad that Miko's has finally opened in Irving Park. Stopped by last weekend, and it was as great as their other locations. There's a convenient walk-up window, and some indoor table seating also. Lots of unique flavors to choose from, there were a dozen or so. Banana chip was delicious, basically a chocolate covered banana in Italian ice form. I don't mind paying $3 for a quality product, you can tell they use natural ingredients, not fake flavored syrups.. Great dairy-free option for the lactose intolerant. They also have iced coffee. July 2017: Glad to see black raspberry make an appearance on the list of flavors, definitely a favorite. The neighborhood needed another family-friendly meeting place like this, glad they're finally here!

Great italian ice. I had watermelon and cucumber - it was delicious and refreshing. The place is just a window and the price is very reasonable.

My sister told me about this place which surprisingly is only 10 minutes away from me. I ordered blueberry and lime I love the lime so much the combination was great too. I will definitely go back. The flavors were amazing and natural. I recommend !!

Live a couple blocks down and my big pregnant belly seriously could not be happier... EXCEPT for the fact that the last two times we've visited at 6pm, they've been closed (despite their sign saying they are open until 7pm or 9pm). The weather wasn't bad, so that couldn't be the excuse. Super disappointing. You can't get me addicted and then kill me with lies and inconsistencies!! :( But seriously, SO good (when it's available).

Great selection of Italian ice flavors. My favorite has to be the passion fruit. The fruit flavors taste like you're biting into the actual fruit. Great place to enjoy with a loved one. Even unique flavors like chocolate (not the best but amazing variety).
