This place was GOOD! It meet my Italian ice expectations. I order the passion fruit and pineapple. 🔥 The prices are very reasonable and they are not stingy with the scoops. I love the sizing options, especially the baby cup. As a mom of two, more places need to adopt this selection. I will be back for sure. 💚

Neighborhood small family business that has a good product delivered in a not so good way: styrofoam cups! Yes, there are paper cups - only if requested by the customer. The baby size is currently the only one that comes in paper. They even display the styrofoam cups right in front of their business! Miko's Italian Ice Instagram post around last Earth Day claimed they are transitioning away from styrofoam cups. Over a year later, styrofoam is still their default unless you know to ask for a paper cup (they have transitioned only their smallest size). Does it really take over a year to buy an alternative cup? They said the Italian ice melts in paper cups faster and they had customers complains but I tried in both spring and summer and it really doesn’t melt more than an ice cream would melt in an ice cream cone on a hot day.

Simply the best refreshing sweet treat in the area! My faves are the mango, lime, passion fruit, coconut, & kiwi (when in season)! (Honestly they’re all good!) Get a combo :)

Always Nikos was very good and the past we eat my favorite combination coconut Horchata and logo couple days ago. They added Jamaica and add the lime and Jamaica was delicious. Sour cherry my wife love it. It is not anymore. She’s very disappointed about it, but she always take it. Raspberry in lime maraca and mango. definitely recommended very fresh all the time and you always know what you get prices that very affordable and the service always is very nice.

Exactly what we were looking for on a warm summer night! FYK there is no inside to sit down -- just a window that you order from -- but it was quick and efficient! We really enjoyed our Italian Ice and had a great evening walking around Logan Square.

I love ice cream, and Italian Ice is not ice cream. It's not as flavor-blasted as a good ice cream, but that's just dandy when it's hot out and you want something refreshing. So, the different flavors at Miko's have different amounts of flavor. The ones that I've had that are very flavorful are mango and lime. The ones that have less flavor are horchata and possibly watermelon. Point being, it's a little flavor-dependent. But I love this place's homegrown feel, the people are always nice, and I love that you can get 2 flavors!

Hard to mess it up and so classic. Great for any day and it's conveniently located near Palmers Square park, so you can choose to sit next to Miko's or walk for a couple minutes to eat at the park. For two mediums we paid about $13. I enjoyed all the flavors we ordered! Black raspberry - I liked this one because it was slightly sweeter and you'd have the occasional blackberry (?) seed. Lemon - less sweet but still refreshing. Great with the tajin that they provide off to the side. Watermelon - very refreshing, surprises no one that it also pairs great with the Tajin Coconut - subtle flavor that doesn't come through immediately, but pairs well with cream-based flavors and fruity flavors alike Miko's is a classic. This is a place that caters towards everyone - families, couples, people that get snacky on walks etc. When I want an iced sweet treat but I'm not quite ready for the heaviness that ice cream can bring, I'll be back at Miko's.

One of my favorite spots in the city and perfect for a hot summer day. I get watermelon and lychee. Sit out on some of the plastic outdoor chairs that they have around the corner from the window. Line can get long but it moves fast. Bonus points if you come here after Lardon down the street (great sandwiches)

A staple in Chicago for a sweet treat! I need to remember to get the lemon flavor again. It is sooo good and pairs nicely with a sweeter flavor. This time I got raspberry lemon and it was a perfect sweet and sour combo. I tried the horchata flavor and was pleasantly surprised.

Delicious Italian ice spot with reasonable price I got the jumbo size for $8 and mixed three flavors. Lemon, strawberry and passion fruit. We walked to a park super close by and enjoyed it there. Worth the visit highly recommend checking it out and would make it a regular spot to go to. They have the pricing on the wall next to the window with the corresponding cup size.

It felt super nostalgic walking up to Miko's. I felt like this place really resembled what summer time Chi was about. Don't let the long line intimidate you- it goes fast. The staff are sweet as well. We had blueberry and watermelon. Also fun tip you can get two flavors each container!

Just like its other location in Irving park, Miko is a tasty Italian ice treat whose sweetness is halfway between Ava's and Mario's. Basically, not too sweet but not bland either. I love that the ice isn't crunchy and how they top off each cup. My go to flavor is mango which I highly recommend!

Had the pleasure of going to Miko's for my first time last evening and it was absolutely delightful! There was a bit of a line when we arrived but it is SO worth it so do not let the line keep you from getting delicious Italian ice. I ordered the raspberry and watermelon and was so happy with my choice - both flavors were refreshing and you can absolutely tell they use real fruit. I have tried a lot of ice cream and Italian ice spots but this has to be in my top favorites! Thank you, Miko's for an amazing treat for our Sunday evening and can't wait to be back!

Came here over the weekend to enjoy the warm weather. The line was long but it moved pretty quickly considering they only had 1 person inside working the counter and taking orders. It's nice to know they accept cards but we had cash on hand just in case. We decided on the mango ice and raspberry - passion fruit. Both were excellent with the thicker texture and flavor and we both liked them better than Mario's by UIC.

Small Italian ice place, good price for the Jumbo, easy to share amongst a couple, really good flavor. Nice people. Highly recommend for a date, and then walk to park nearby

Outstanding. I've been to Miko's several times and have tried several excellent combinations. The Italian ice flavors are spot on, super fresh tasting, and soo refreshing! My most recent favorite combo was hibiscus/lime. The floral and sweet hibiscus paired so well with the tangy and sour lime. I always prefer to pair a sweet with sour flavor. A small size is $5 (mini is $4) which is pretty steep, though totally worth it.

It great if you live in the area parking is horrible. My sister and I wanted to try a different Italian ice spot. Our go to is Mario's, Freddie'sor Jodi's in Indiana. I got the mango and lime. The lime barely had any lime flavor. It was a waist of a drive.

Came here after dinner since my group was craving something sweet to end the night strong. Pretty long line on a summer night, but moves pretty quickly. I don't believe there's any indoor seating, but they have some chairs outdoor that you can say at. I opted for the horchata and mango flavors and thought both were great! Nice and refreshing. It was perfect for a summer day. The other people I was with fried the guava, hibiscus, coconut, and watermelon. I didn't really like any of them and I don't think they were super fans of it either. But for the flavors I got, I thought it was a great little treat in a nice Chicago summer night. Also FYI, it was $5 for a small (they have 4 sizes) and you can "combo" up to two flavors in a cup.

I can think of few things nicer on a hot day when you're walking miles running errands than enjoying a refreshing Italian ice. My daughter and I did just that at Miko's, a neighborhood spot with a walk-up service window that offers a tempting array of rotating, primarily fruit flavors with chocolate thrown in. Sizes range from baby ($4) to jumbo (a pint for $8). We opted for the baby-sized lemon and mango ices and our cool, sweet treats helped us make it home without breaking too much of a sweat. If you want to sit and enjoy your ice, there's a few seats available outside.

Miko's Italian ice was very refreshing and tasty. I ordered the mango flavor and it was delicious. The ambiance was good, and also an excellent customer service by Miko!!!

Delicious Italian Ice that has just the right amount of sweetness and great flavor. Outside chairs are comfortable for humans of all sizes and the side street is grassy and attractive. We love it!

Italian ice is really good here. It's thicker and creamier than Mario's Italian ice. I had the coconut and lime Italian ice and the coconut was the best I ever had. It was so good and so refreshing. They pack it in real well in the cup size you order.

We had 4 flavors ( Chocolate raspberry watermelon and lemon) I don't know wath to say but it was not good. Strawberry no flavor same with the raspberry, lemon had a little of flavor. No fresh fruit used when making it. And no sweetness to it.

This place is a family favorite! Everyone enjoyed their flavors on our most recent visit, especially mango and a mango / raspberry combo.

Okay so this was our introduction to Italian Ice in Chicago and I'm so glad it was. Straight forward: walk up, pick your size, pick your flavors and enjoy. I decided on the mango and it was DELICIOUS. Cold, smooth, soft, sweet and refreshing. We honestly went back the next day because WHY NOT! And only a few block from the house! This may become a problem but I'm fine with that.

The Italian ice is absolutely delicious and I love the Palmer Square store. BUT Beware to customers and employees: the manager at the Kimball store is very unfriendly and disrespectful towards his staff members.

Perfect for a hot summer day! Be prepared to get in line, but don't be intimidated because the staff moves pretty fast. While you wait, take a look at the flavor board to see what is available for the day. We were lucky enough to be there for the last day that they had guava! If multiple flavors catch your eye, you can pick two and they'll pack them into the same cup (just be aware that it will be stacked horizontally not side-by-side in case you're trying to taste both flavors at once or take a picture). Reasonable pricing and sizes are posted by the order window. They also accept credit card now. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for a cool treat!

We came here for some quick Italian ice. The staff is great here and they have a lot of flavors to choose from. The prices are fair and their Italian ice taste great. We got lemonade, pineapple/coconut, and strawberry/lemonade. They were all delicious. The only thing I would have preferred is for when you ask for two flavors for them to put them in vertically so you have both flavors evenly spread. I had to wait to finish my strawberry to get to my lemonade. Not the biggest deal in the world, since they were both good. I'll definitely be returning.

I got the watermelon italian ice, It was on the sweeter side though so it's not my favorite type of italian ice. Objectively a decent italian ice. You could taste that they did use fruit and it wasn't just all juice sweetener or something like other stores. They also had lots interesting flavors.

Such a cute little spot when you're craving something cold during the summer but want something a little lighter than ice cream. All sizes have the option of getting two flavors, so I got watermelon and coconut (both delicious, but coconut a little bit more so!) and my husband got orange and lime. The orange was described to us as a dairy free creamsicle, and it was amazing!!!!!! There was a line, but it was super quick moving, and Palmer Square is less than half a block down the street to sit and enjoy your snack. A super enjoyable experience and we will definitely be back!

My saver for this summer! Walk on the street at Logan Square and have a scope (or more) of Italian Ice -- perfect way to start Chicago Summer! Get all of them, you would ever get enough of it. Highly recommend --MANGO, GRAPEFRUIT, GUAVA, PASSION FRUIT!

Miko's is a constant highlight of my summer!! I love everything from the lanterns in the background, the lovely folks behind the counter, and the refreshing ice. I never get the same combination twice but favorite flavors include coconut, mango, and classic lemon.

Delicious i had the lemon flavor and found real chunks of lemon in it. My grandson wanted a "big" one. They generously put a small one in a big cup

Amazing and the best I've ever had!!!! They have a large selection of flavors. It was not overly too sweet and the quality of the ice was so smooth. Super tasty for a hot day. Now whenever I think of Italian ice, I think of Miko's in Chicago. They have a small window stand and not many seats. You'll have to eat it while standing or in the car.

Chicago is relentless with the humidity. Needed some cool to cool off. The staff here is super friendly serving up large scoops of Italian ice. Totally recommend and have a nice stroll. Try not to sweat...lol

Cute, walk up window, with quick service to provide a cool treat on a hot day. That said, we weren't really digging the flavors but the experience was nice. You can get one or two flavors but oddly, the flavors are stacked. We got mango, the most popular, then passion fruit. Seemed a little odd relative to other slushees or freezes to not have the flavors side by side. That said, I do believe they are using real fruit to make the flavor. I didn't care for the mango, passion fruit was good a sour. I tried the coconut from my sister and it was pleasantly delicious. I'm reducing stars because of the flavor, the ice is really really small which was a bizarre texture and the price was pretty steep. $4 for the small which is the size of a tiny styrofoam cup you used to get free coffee out of, if you can remember. Also no bike racks close by, but the service was quick and they all were wearing masks, antibacterial was available and they have a great proximity to Palmer square.

A very cute little Italian ice place with a walk up window in close proximity to the square. We ordered and then took a walk through the square. I ordered the seasonal apple crisp and my guy ordered the lime. I will say his was better than mine hands down but he thought mine was better....so who knows. It was about $4 for two scoops...so a bit on the pricey side. There was no line on a beautiful Sunday fall afternoon. Overall, enjoyable :)

This is the perfect spot for a hot summer day. I went here Saturday at noon and it's a great mid day treat. I got the baby scoop which is the smallest size for $4 and got the flavor of lemon. I do wish the flavor was stronger. I was hoping for more of a lemonade refreshing lemon flavor and this was very light lemon.

Cute little neighborhood walk-up window serving Italian ice. They were serving ~12 different flavors (see picture of white board) and offered us to try a few samples before ordering. I tried the coconut and pomegranate, but didn't particularly care for either so ended up going combo-style with raspberry and lemon. Definitely get the raspberry! It's served up in 5 different sized cups ranging from baby ($3) to jumbo ($6.50). So you can take it to go or hang out on some patio chairs along the sidewalk. Overall really enjoyed the friendly service, eclectic decor, and laid back Logan vibes to go with my Italian ice.

This shop wasn't crowded on the lousy weather day I visited it on. I sampled a sour cherry flavored ice. This isn't like a New Orleans snoball or Hawaiian shaved ice that required preparation; they just scooped it right out. The sour cherry flavor had noticeable cherry fragments, but the taste didn't really give me that clash of sour on sweet that I craved for some reason. It might have been more interesting to get a combination, which I didn't do, and I do imagine it being quite refreshing during a Chicago summer (it gets hot in Chicago eventually, right?).

A OG for us. In my opinion one of the best places to get Italian ice in the city! My favorite flavors are coconut and mango but honestly any flavor you get is fantastic and worth a try!

Me & My Son was driving by and saw a few people waiting in line. So, I decide to stop and grab us something sweet yummy and cold to munch on. I have been driving pass this place for awhile and always saw people in line for Miko's Italian Icee. Today was a perfect day to stop and enjoy a nice cold treat for me & my son. Even though the line was a little long. The guy behind counter was pretty darn fast in serving his customers. There is a white board on the side of the window that display's the different flavors. On top of the window hanging are cups with the prices on them. That way you can see which size you want to purchase. I decide on mixing my flavors up a bit with a mango & lemon flavor. My tongue buds wanted to taste a tropical flavor. My son chose the mixed flavor of watermelon and lemon. Yes. Miko's also take the plastic card so feel free to swipe your card. I heard the people standing in line say that it use to be Cash Only. So, they heard their customer's plead and got themselves a credit card machine. A super plus for Miko's. Now back to real deal. The minute I dipped into that cup there was a delicious burst of flavors. The mango flavor was delicious and full of sweetness. But once I dug into the lemon it was a bit too tart and bland. But No Complaints the Mango helped wash away the tartness of the lemon. My son said he enjoyed his mixed flavors. Overrall. Miko's has gained a new customer. See you soon on another nice Chicago Day.

Very much a Chicago summer staple . We finally made it for the first time this summer and always its amazing . You can't go wrong with any of the flavors but a Mango is a go to for me . Nothing bad to say about this spot.

Great service, great taste, perfect on a sunny day in July! Had 3 baby size- 1 mango, 1 combo w watermelon & lemon, and 1 combo strawberry & pineapples. The fruit taste was genuine, tho pineapples tasted like canned pineapples. I thought $3 was pretty pricey but she filled up the cup plus more, and I was willing to pay anything at that point. It was so yummy!

When it is hot outside or when I have craving of some Italian Ice, this is the place to stop by and get it. They offer 5 different sizes. Another thing to keep in mind is that they do large quantities for events, like block parties, BBQ's Weddings, Graduations, birthday parties, or just because. Just give them some time to get it ready for you 24 hours. you can pay with cash or with card. Easy to get your italian ice and go on your way. Wil definitely will stop by again this summer.

Great Italian gelato! Try the before they close for the next few months. They have been open for over twenty years! Nothing fancy jut Very tasty flavors! Take it to go or seat on one of the few chairs by the sidewalk. I loved the mango one!

Holy smoke, I almost passed by this tiny spot but am SO glad I did. Guava ice, so perfect on a warm Sept. day. It was not too sweet, had a subtle fruit flavor and a generous serving. Service was kind and swift.

I love this place. It's a neighborhood icon that we go back to year after year. They swap out flavors from week to week so be sure to go back often. Pro Tips: -They give out samples so ask. -They combine flavors so you can get a mix of flavors. -If you remember, they will even serve it in your cup...to be more environmentally conscious. -Limited plastic seating and even Roover gets some water as you wait in line. - Remember to tip!!

Rosa J. and hubby are enjoying various local Italian ice joints in the city. We made it to Miko's this evening. Miko's is located within the residential part of Logan Square. As many other Italian ice places, Miko's is operated off a single-family home, with a small kitchen window for you curious people to peek into. Since we don't normally spend a fortune at a spot like Miko's, cash-only seems to be a norm and I've been keeping some pocket money for some summer fun! However, Miko's does accept credit cards. Their menu is much more succinct than Annette's (another place I frequent), and apparently that made hubby happy because he dislikes "choices" when it comes to food (funny that he's just as libertarian as I am). Anyways, we libertarians don't want to complicate our lives, so we both went with the single flavor in a small cup (lemon and black raspberry). I highly recommended the black raspberry, for it has the right amount of sweetness/sourness mix. I personally thought the lemon could have gone a tiny bit easier on the sugar. In spite of my ultimate decision on figuring out which "II" will be "Rosa J.'s Best," I enjoy the nightlife at Logan Square without having to step into a bar. With my limited budget ($10 or less), Miko's will most likely become my go-to place in Logan Square until Midwestern summer ends.
