The 18 Best Ice Cream Spots In London

"If National Rail was anything like Milk Train, commuters would be happier people. Sure, this Covent Garden spot has a wall of fake flowers, one too many motivational ice cream catchphrases, and the kind of mad candy floss creations that’ll give a toddler palpitations. But ignore all that. You’re here for their cookies and cream ice cream. This is one of the few places where we’d actually recommend foregoing a cone so you can load up on toppings. Get mini Oreos added to the cookies and cream or live a lesser life." - heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, daisy meager

The Best Soft Serve In London

14 Ice Cream Spots You Don’t Want To Skip This Summer

"The candy floss ring around Milk Train’s ice cream cones is a good way to make sure whoever you’re with keeps a social distance from your ice cream. Plus, the ice cream tastes very good. Specifically the cookies and cream flavour. And if you’re a go-hard-or-go-home kind of person (our kind of person) then make sure to add mini Oreos on top. They’re only open on the weekends for now, but have recently launched a nationwide ice cream delivery service." - heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak

16 Restaurants For When You Need To Act Like You’re Living Your Best Life (For Social Media)

"It’s a tale as old as time. Well, as old as your middle school playground memories—when in doubt, use ice cream to provoke envy. And few places in London do better ice cream than Milk Train in Covent Garden. Sure, we’re not entirely on board with the wall of fake flowers but the kitsch train carriage setting is the kind of whimsical aesthetic that goes with your new whimsical, entirely fictitious, carefree life. Just don’t get involved in the OTT candyfloss creations—they’re about as subtle as a 2014 Facebook poke. " - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing

Let's be honest - you're here for the content. However, the soft serve does also taste good! While not the best ice cream in London by any means, the soft serve is solidly good. It's nice to have a hyped up dessert that is actually edible. It's overpriced, undetstaffed, and far from the best available in the area, but it exceeds its job as photogenic fodder. Milk Train literally has a miniature rose-wall inside the store made with the intention of having you post your dessert. Need I say more? For fun shots, and a decent dessert, this is great!

Delicious and good-looking ice cream shop near Covent Garden🍦Great texture and just the right level of sweetness. Lots of sitting space inside to enjoy the ice cream but the shop still tends to get really busy in the afternoon☀️

I’ve been to Milk Train twice now and I love it. It’s certainly the most creative way of serving ice cream I’ve seen! The staff when I have been were lovely and they interacted with the kids behind us in line very well. I’m obsessed with the seasonal flavours they offer, I love when an ice cream shop switches things up every now and again! I got the classic Rocky Track with the Cotton Candy Cloud. Let me tell you, the photo aesthetics were crazy good with the ice cream and the atmosphere. The ice cream itself was delicious, the chocolate was so smooth! And the fact that there were pretzels and Oreos on top to give it a bit of sweet and salty made it scrumptious! I must say the atmosphere is my favourite part and make the experience 10 times better. I have come in the spring and the fall and the decor has changed to match and it had such a lovely vibe!

Great little place. Nice ice creams and milk shakes. Sundaes are nice. Extra twist with £1 extra you get cotton candy added on. See pictures. In terms of ice cream, a little too sweet in my opinion but most will like. Quite pricey, but nice little treat.

I came here last year and was really looking forward to going back but I found it a little underwhelming. The choice it Ice creams was a little poor and some of the toppings were out of stock. The service was adequate. I honestly don’t see the point in having seating in this place as the booths are small so you end up standing anyway

Just okay. Makes a cute pic, but the staff were all just standing around looking at their phones. We tried to ask some questions about the different flavors, but they were not helpful. Place was clean, no bathrooms, trash can by the door was shut down. I would definitely look elsewhere for a treat, there are many other options.

Seating is quite limited and its a little annoying that people take up more space than they need (2 people taking up 4-6 seats). Would be better if theres a reservation system or time limit to allow others to eat. I had also noticed a lot of flies, possibly due to the plants. Other than that, drinks (passion fruit mocktail, berry smoothie and biscoff latte) food and service was good. A really nice local spot, would love to visit again

Gorgeous ice creams. Not the authentic homemade Italian gelato. More like the typical American version. It was ok. Nothing special and pretty expensive. £7 for this cone. The candy cotton is a plus and we loved it though. Service was really good!
