A New, Regularly Updated Round-Up of Nashville Restaurant Closings | Eater Nashville

"I read that Mill Creek Brewing Co. closed after four years and is filing for bankruptcy protection because it could not adequately service its debt obligations, according to a letter from Founder and CEO Chris Going; the closure also extended to its 12 South taproom, known for its stellar burgers since opening in 2018, though an update says Mill Creek will reopen soon with new investors while rumor has it the Taproom may not reopen." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Google
Cool brewery my friends took me to after picking me up from the airport. We each had a beer and I got tne tacos to eat. It is a large space and there was also a running group having drinks and food while we were there. A lot of cool tshirts to buy and overall great vibe I would love to go back when I’m in the area again to try more good beer and hang out.

Google
I just discovered this place and I like it! I had the neon daze and chicken wings both were outstanding! Very cool vibe. Chillest place in Nolensville.

Google
Great atmosphere. Large selection of beer. They also have seltzer (GF) and wine. Permanently installed food truck with fries, wings (the Nashville Hot mixed with BBQ sauce is amazing)cheese curds and more. Two patty smash burger, wraps and more. For those who are GF, I would recommend the salad.

Google
The beer is pretty good, they have seltzers and a cider and a sour and a couple wines, as well. The place, a large warehouse nestled into the back streets of Nolensville is okay, too. There are a ton of string lights that give the inside a warm and cozy feel. There are some large wooden tables for large parties, a big bar with outlets, some high top table seating, and a few couch/armchair corners to get comfortable. Inside is also a food truck with some snacking options. It was my second time here and tbh both times have been 🤷. Although it may be a nice place to visit maybe once in awhile with a group, on both occasions the food hasn't been good and I like having more beer options than what they provide. And well, there's not much else out this way aside from a Sonic and BBQ joint. There are only outlets at the bar, which was 🤷 for people coming there with laptops to hangout. I brought my own board games, I don't think they have any there BUT if you walk all the way down to the other end of the warehouse where the bathroom is, I did see a big Jenga. For me personally, I gave it 4 stars because I don't think I'll be driving 30 minutes out of town often for what you get by going there.

Google
I know people love live music and this is the Nashville suburbs where even the *McDonald's* has a stage! So when the band arrived on this Saturday afternoon and started setting up, I wasn't surprised. But it did mean that after I finished the current beer, it was time to pack up and move along. Family-friendly place with lots of kids literally running about. Great beers. A food truck INSIDE the warehouse. And the wifi worked really well. I had a nice time.

Google
This was stop 5 on the “BIL in town to dine and drink all weekend long” tour and it was great. Huge space with a smaller then it is feel. Lots of beers on tap, food out of a “truck” in the building and attentive staff. Enjoyed the beers, cool space and hanging with family. Here’s the breakdown: Great beers +1 star; funky food truck-ish +1 star; boot mug +1 star; great staff +1 star; getting steps in on the super long walk to the bathroom +1 star. I’ll go back for sure.

Google
I love Mill Creek. Great beers, Tropical IPA and Neon Daze are excellent IPAs. Atmosphere is legit, large facility with golf simulator, games, TVs and a ton of space for events. Food was good. Hot chicken has the expected spice! Cajun fries are a must. Service was amazing. Great people! Will be back!

Camille D.

Google
I don't drink, but I like coming here with friends and family for a good time. There is free water and a decent menu. Lots of room and screens with various forms of entertainment. A great spot to hang with groups of people. Staff has always been super kind.

Yelp
When I visited Tennessee in 2021, this was the first brewery I went to. Since then, I have been coming back on an annual basis and enjoying Millcreek brewing. I always look forward to the seasonal beers that they have and the delicious food like the fried pickles and the burger. It's a family friendly establishment so I'm able to come with my sister and her family (which includes three children). There is tons of indoor seating space as well as outdoor seating. I did notice that the outdoor space tends to always have dogs outside so I like that you can bring your pup with you.

Yelp
Came for the trivia, but the real draw is the great beers! Also I admit that Smashburger from the parked food truck is pretty great too. Didn't win at trivia but it was a good night!

Yelp
Great neighborhood bar with awesome beer flavors brewed onsite. They also serve food which hits the spot if you're just looking for a sandwich or something similar. Great bar tenders.
google avatar

Yelp
Great beer and selection. Had the pretzel with beer cheese (only complaint not enough cheese) Cool building and spot, will be back.

Yelp
Tonight we visited Mill Creek brewing for the first time after the band had finished. Our bartender Jacob was absolutely a treasure. He was very knowledgeable about all of the offerings and helped guide us to select the most delicious beers in middle Tennessee. We loved everything about the brewery, including the bartender's choice of music, ambience, diverse beer selection and friendly staff. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
My husband and I used to love this brewery--it was a go-to spot for us. Unfortunately, we can no longer support or recommend it due to the way the owners treat their employees. Rather than communicating professionally, the owner chooses to ghost employees instead of telling them if things didn't work out or even letting them know when and how to collect their final paycheck. It's unprofessional and disrespectful, leaving both employees and customers with a bad taste in their mouths. A business is more than just good beer; it's about the people who make it happen. Sadly, the way the ownership operates behind the scenes makes it impossible for us to continue supporting this place.
google avatar

Frankie S.

Yelp
We love this place! It's spacious, pet and family friendly, they have amazing beers and the seltzers are exceptional. They also have the best smash burger this side of the town, the shoestring fries are always perfect, and their cheese curds are equally good.

Yelp
Service was Terrible. Sat at the bar and no one would serve us. Not busy at all. There were 4 people at the bar and two bar tenders. Had to flag one down to order a beer. That took 10 minutes. They hand us a food menu and NEVER came back. I finally walked over and asked if they were going to take our order. The girl told me to get in line and wait to order. Mind you there was no line until about 2 minutes before I walked over. She was snippy. We were done and just left. They would not even serve us a beer at the bar unless we got up and waited in a line. What was the point of having a bar. It would have been nice if when they handed us the menu, they would have told us to order somewhere else. Beer is just mediocre at best.

Yelp
We stopped into Mill Creek on our way home from Nashville and I was so surprised by this wonderful place! Everyone we spoke to was so friendly from the staff to the patrons. The beers were good and I loved the relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Great atmosphere and friendly staff members! The food is fantastic! Burgers and wings!!!

Erinn B.

Yelp
Mill Creek Brewing could be great. The service is beyond terrible. An employee taking orders at the bar was so rude to us. We were politely asking about menu items and she was extremely short and downright mean. We've been coming here for a long time and employees have never been very kind, but this girl was awful. If you hate your job, by all means quit.

Yelp
I haven't been to Nolensville in years. Not since about 2016. Back then it was all fields and grass with very little development. Fast forward to now, I don't even recognize the place. All these cool restaurants, shops, and offices have popped up all over the place. When my old friends/coworkers wanted to get together for a catch-up, one suggested Mill Creek Brewing. Tucked in the back of an industrial park, this is an awesome spot for those that want to grab a drink, a small bite to eat, and socialize. It's an actual brewery with tons of seating. There's even a stationary food truck that has a small but nice selection of food to choose from. I ordered the "As the Saying Gose" fruited sour (something I've liked more than beers these last few years). The sour was that right balance of fermentation and tang/tart. I wanted to order the cheese curds (one of my favorite foods) but they were sold out. I resorted to the Nashville hot chicken tenders and shoestring fries. I haven't had shoestring fries in a while but I remember why I like them so much. They are that perfect balance of crunchy yet chewy fry. The hot chicken tenders were really good. Traditional Nashville hot chicken spice on a crunchy, juicy chicken tender. My only sadness is that I only got 2 chicken tenders for the price of $13. That's kind of steep. It's food truck pricing when the kitchen is just a repurposed food truck. Overall though I really liked the brewery. I wonder if they do anything like trivia or live music nights on the weekend. I like the low key vibe and I'd love to come back.

Yelp
Great food but I wish the portions were a little bigger. Excellent beer and great local atmosphere. Almost always very busy but pretty good service despite the lines. Chicken sandwhich, burger, fries, fried pickles, and pretzels are all fantastic.

Yelp
Came here after a crappy day at work and decided I need some brewery time....And since I was cooking - we went out! LOL Brought my son and daughter here while my wife was away at the Hospital helping deliver our 1st Grandchild into the world....so this made a huge change or attitude. So -- here we go...... Ambiance: Pretty cool warehouse style brewery right off the Nolesville pike in an industrial complex and near some office buildings. Was a neat entrance and inside had lots of room with tables and chairs set up around the brewing vats....What was interesting also was the fact that all their food was prepared in a food truck - inside the warehouse....Cool. Food & Drink: We all ordered the Smashville burgers (2 with just fries) and I ordered the one with the roasted cauliflower (with Garlic Aoili). Burger meat was tasty, however the burger lacked bacon crumbles and lacked the other toppings on mine in particular. The fries according to the kids were just ok, greasy and kind of flimsy...not what you'd expect for a $13-15 burger. My cauliflower was good - roasted well and the sauce wasn't overpowering so this was a win. As for the drinks I had the Easy Hazy IPA while the kids had a couple cans of coke. Coke cans were pricey and so was my Hazy IPA...If I remember correctly it was $7 or $8.....pretty steep for a home brewery pour. One note - just a small peev of mine -- when your serving $15 burgers -- gotta do it on a plate...the carnival style paper hot dog style plates just accentuated the overpriced meal.... Service: Its pretty much self service except for ordering so you seat yourself and go get your food from the truck when its ready so not much in the way of stellar opportunities to win the day with this one but the folks at the ordering counter were meh. Price: Overall for the price I'd go elsewhere...I'm not saying it was bad by any means, but the value for the meal was much less than expected when we left with a $48 bill for 3 for some burgers and 1 beer. Keep Munching Ya'll

Yelp
Great beers - loved the neon ipa - perfect balance - not too hoppy and not too fruit forward, the pretzel bites and cauliflower were excellent snacks. Decor is basic- it's literally a brewery in a warehouse, I was disappointed with the limited selection of stuff for my kids to do after seeing all the "family friendly" mentions online. All they have is cornhole games, darts that only bigger kids can reach, a golf simulator which was commandeered by 2 guys the entire time and a fusbol table. No video games, play area or anything else to occupy the young uns- hence my drinking time was limited! It's bar service only & there's a food truck (parked inside !!) where they prepare the food. Good place to kill a few hours but be sure to bring iPads for the kids.

Tim C.

Yelp
What a taproom should be. Great beer selection - particularly fond of the hazy IPAs.

Melissa H.

Yelp
Visited w local friends. What a great place for the weekend, wish we were here during football season! Lots of space to hangout and enjoy the company. Really nice Sunday afternoon here. Service line was quick and efficient. We got snacks of shoestring French fries, Buffalo cauliflower, pretzels, fried pickles and wings. They were all delicious and flavorful. Sampled beer flights were VERY REASONABLY priced at $10. Loved them all - high spots were the Gose and Pumpkin ale. Wish I lived closer , would visit regularly!!!

Yelp
Excellent locals spot over in Nolensville off the main road. Neat location and great size/depth to their storefront once you walk inside. Delicious beers on tap! Kudos on the excellent lagers! This was our first time in and we were impressed not only with their beer options and taste, but their "inside" food-truck also. Dude was in there basically by himself pumping out plate after plate of hot, fresh, well-prepared food. We stopped in during the Titans game on a Sunday afternoon and there were tons of folks inside, dozens - I do mean DOZENS - of TVs and projectors large, medium, and small ALL OVER the place from front to back. More than enough seating everywhere for comfort, and did I mention DELICIOUS food and beer?! My only regrets are two-fold: 1. That when we ordered, we told the cashier that we'd never been there before and didn't know anything about their establishment. We weren't told they had Happy Hour specials and had 1/2 price wings when we first arrived. It wasn't until after we sat down at our table that we saw their flyers for their daily specials. As a HUGE wing connoisseur, I'd definitely have ordered them had we known! 2. That they aren't closer, or we'd be there all the time! Well done, Mill Creek!
google avatar

Brian N.

Yelp
Great place, kind of hidden in an industrial park. Beer is very solid, kid friendly, and I "think" the food truck, probably has good food. Problem was, none of the burgers were made as we ordered them. (Plain). They were just handed to us, and we walked back to our table. Honestly, it wasn't worth the effort to "try" and send them back. (We ordered plain burgers for the kids, and they were smothered in sauces on both sides of the bun), so we just tossed them. The fries, maybe because they are so skinny, we're room temperature at best/not even remotely hot. Granted, they were really busy, but our order wasn't complicated. Great beers/I'd skip the food truck.

Jonathan A.

Yelp
Mill Creek Brewing offers an exceptional dining experience, featuring delectable cuisine and a welcoming atmosphere. The establishment is particularly well-suited for hosting gatherings and fostering meaningful connections with friends and family.

Stacy W.

Yelp
3rd time in. Service to "line" instead of bar. Not sure why they don't have adequate help, but being shunned again at the bar it's the last time I'll try.
google avatar

Holly V.

Yelp
This place is terrible to put it kindly. Every. Single. Time. we have tried come here they put their red light on and stop taking orders as soon as we get in-line to order dinner. NEVER COMING BACK EVER AGAIN. THIRD STRIKE YOU'RE OUT!
google avatar

Maddie H.

Yelp
We had a fun excursion in Nolensville at Mill Creek Brewing. It has a very spacious interior with a built in food truck and event space in the back of the brewery. We settled in watching a game on TV with a few beers and a basket of onion rings. My favorite beer was the peachy darlin. With a fun atmosphere and great beer it makes it easy to look forward to our next visit.

Yelp
Great little hang out spot in Nolensville. Nice and wide open, casual craft beer joint. Met a friend here for a quick drink after work and ended up having a couple of these Frose's (like a wine margarita). Didn't try the beer on this visit, but will do so next time

Spirit F.

Yelp
We found this place on Maps while finishing up a meal at Pork Belly Farmhouse across the street We're millennials-- so we love breweries Like any respectable young person, we checked out their Instagram for a vibe check We saw the golf simulator and my boyfriend's eyes lit up...after all, he spent his whole Saturday with me and not at the golf course, bless his heart We booked a 1hr reservation for the golf simulator and headed there just in time after dinner This place is awesome! HUGE venue, tons of outdoor seating, live band playing, food truck inside for food orders, sooooo many indoor seating areas including sofas, giant jenga, and corn hole to play! We didn't order food since we just had dinner-- but we did order beers at the bar and got instructions for the simulator and hung out for a great end to our night We will be back-- with dogs--with friends, and probably for another date night!
google avatar

Brittany S.

Yelp
Food and customer service were meh. They forgot an item on our order but we had already waited 40min for our food. We would have had to wait another 40min in order for our order to be complete so we cancelled and just left. Ended up taking our 3yr old to Sonic so she could eat dinner too. Waiting 80min total for a hot dog just wasn't up our alley!
google avatar

Brad H.

Yelp
Awesome venue. Welcoming and knowledgeable staff. Competitive prices and they handle long 4th of July lines like a champ. There is clearly a great leadership team here who train and develop staff on guest experience. Will return here again for sure.
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
This place is awesome and very family friendly!! They have lots of options for drinks and food! They have plenty of choices for kids as well! The service is incredible. I looked for my plate and cups to throw away or put away and they were gone! The whole staff was very helpful and friendly! They had the back indoor part rented out that had giant Jenga and Cornhole but it looked like an awesome area to have a get together, especially in the fall with the big projector going for football! I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Love Mill Creek! Such a gem in Nolensville. Trivia nights on Thursdays at 6:30. Love that they have indoor/outdoor seating and can open the "garage doors" to let in an outside breeze. We come here for friends birthdays and after date nights. Other times we bring the kids and play board games! My husband and friends are a huge fan of the beer. Lil Darlin is everyone's fav. I am not a beer drinker, but luckily they have seltzers and sours that i am a fan of. Also the permanent indoor food truck has pretty good food! I think having a seasonal food item would be a cool addition. It's a great atmosphere. Love the dangling lights and wood wall. I love the new greenery backdrop for photos. But here is my one idea- I think you guys should take down the "mill creek brewery" banner on the greenery wall and get a neon light with the name. And that's me really going out on a limb with a suggestion lol. Also how about a dessert in the food truck Less fuss more beer!
google avatar

Bri N.

Yelp
I've been in the beer industry for many many years but had never visited this taproom. The beer was delicious and the service was friendly and fast! From the moment I walked to the front door, the place felt dirty. There must be months of handprints all over the door and the bathrooms (the first stall had old vomit all over) looked like they hadn't been cleaned any time recently. Overall, the beer and service were good, but I'm not eager to visit that dirty taproom again.

Linda P.

Yelp
Ordered a fried chicken sandwich w cheese and pickles w cajun fries, got no pickles and regular fries!

Yelp
Love the atmosphere. We were disappointed that all 4 of are drinks were warm from the tap and cans, but we will give them another chance. Which is the reason for the 3 stars. We did not try the food but it looked good with nice sized portions.

Yelp
Not the best addition to the brewery scene, but everything gets the job done. A great place to send the afternoon with friends.

Yelp
found by searching yelp for a good burger, so we stopped in & got a burger & local brew. Both were good, so would be back again.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, kid friendly, good beer and good food. Lots of TV's for watching your favorite team.

Yelp
Mill Creek is definitely an off-the-beaten-path spot but worth the drive. It is located in a big warehouse. The inside is huge--lots of picnic tables and a huge bar. We were there on a Saturday and there were families there with small children and it is also dog-friendly. They only serve the beer they make--no guest taps, wine or cider. I tried the Lil Darling and it was good. I am not a beer drinker and I can honestly say that I liked it and would order it again. The BF ordered a flight of five of their seven beers. They don't serve food and the day we were there, the food truck was cancelled. There is a large indoor event space in the back part of the brewery. Very casual but I would think it would be a fun place to hold a party. It was worth the drive to visit Mill Creek Brewing. If you are in the Brentwood area, it is worth the drive over to check it out.

Yelp
Fun, casual brewery with decent food and a laid back atmosphere - perfect for a few drinks and a game night! The staff has been really friendly both times I went and I'll be back!

Yelp
My husband, baby, best friend and her family decided to stop in here for something to eat while heading back to their house after an unsatisfying experience at a local vineyard. We were pleasantly surprised here and my friends husband loved his beer so much that he bought a growler and finished it before the night was over. I was pretty hungry and the reason we stopped in was so I could get some food in my belly. The whole place was pretty cool. There was a little pop up camper that had a pretty good menu. I forgot to snap a photo because there was so much else to do. There were games for the kids at the table and plenty of friendly staff. When the food came out, it was so tasty. If we're ever in the area, I would definitely choose to come back, the only thing that influenced 4 stars over 5 was the choices of beers, they seemed to not really have much of a choice in that are, I'd suggest to see more of a variety at a brewery but maybe that's just their style.
google avatar

Yelp
Visited Mill Creek Brewing for the first time with my very excited husband who has been wanting to come to this location for months. Upon arriving, I noticed the building was clean and the inside was spacious. When we walked in, we were greeted by what seemed to be the only person working in the entire brewery. She was kind but did not really explain much about the location even after telling her it was my first visit. My husband ordered a sampler with very few beers to choose from. She explained that because the day before they sold so much beer they did not have replacements in the taps. We were only able to sample 3 beers unless we wanted to get cans of beer we had never tried before. The beer was ok but was not one of our favorite breweries we ever visited. We also had the intention of ordering food when we arrived. The indoor food truck was not in service. I asked about it and was told "they were in between people that run it" as a response. We played a game of Jenga while spending some time together laughing and talking. The atmosphere was nice for visiting and playing games. I will not be chomping at the bit to come back and visit this location but it's worth trying one time if you are in the area. Maybe they will have more beer and a working food truck in the future.

Yelp

Yelp
Good open warehouse area seating on picnic tables. Service was quick. They brew all their own beers at this location

Yelp
Went last night with my two sons-in-law. Got there about 530 and it was already busy. Beer was decent. My main issues related to traffic flow and food ordering. Signage inside was weak. Evidently, you could go directly to the counter and order a beer, but the way the lines formed, it looked more like you would go towards the back. As it turned out, this was just the food line. But no signage to indicate that. When I went through to order us dinner, I stood in line for 10 minutes which was fine. Then I get to the cashier and she tells me (nicely) that they've stopped taking food orders because the truck is backed up. Come back in 30 minutes. Why not tell people standing in line that so time isn't wasted. We ended up leaving and going to Martin's BBQ, All of this seems fixable to provide a better experience and probably a 4 star review.

John B.

Yelp
First time visiting this business and enjoyed the experience. The burger was delicious as were the wings. The beers were not to my taste and the live music was pretty bad.

Yelp
This is such a great place for casual eating! And amazing beer! The staff is very helpful in selecting beers. There is a lot of space to bring larger groups.

Yelp
Mill Creek just stepped it up. As of this weekend, they can now sell beer by the glass and they've partnered with Subculture https://www.yelp.com/biz/subculture-urban-cuisine-and-cafe-nashville for some food truck action. From what I understand, Subculture has parked their food truck inside Mill Creek permanently. They will serve food Fridays from 5:30-9 pm and Saturdays from 12:00-9 pm, and it's delicious. We tried the Churrasco and Cubano. Mill Creek has such an amazing vibe now. It's very urban, yet calm. They have several large farmhouse style tables, they welcome kids, and dogs. It's a little off the beaten path, but if you're in Nolensville, you have to check this place out.
