The 10 Best Empanadas in Miami, Florida | Eater Miami

"Fried to order, this Venezuelan spot caught the attention of Food Network heavyweight Guy Fieri on “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” for empanadas that balance the perfect crunchy outside with a soft and flavorful inside." - Alona Martinez

The 9 Best Venezuelan Empanadas In Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"We tried to focus solely on the empanadas for this guide. But we can’t talk about Milly’s without talking about their space. Their use of neon lights is tasteful, and they have an empanada-shaped mirror we’ve repeatedly tried to find online because we need it in our living room. But the reason why they're on this guide is not because of how aesthetic they are, it’s because of how crispy and fulfilling their empanadas are. Each is medium-sized, fried to order, and has the perfect amount of sweetness in its dough. They also have a ghost kitchen in Wynwood if you’re looking for grab-and-go. But if you’re looking to have a sit-down breakfast or just want to get some work done with a side of empanadas, head over to their main location in Kendall. " - Julia Malave

A Guide To Miami’s “Super Cute Reasonably Priced Restaurants To Catch Up With A Few Friends” - Miami - The Infatuation

"Cute is everywhere at Milly's, a casual Venezuelan spot in Kendall. The empanada-shaped mirror near the bathrooms, the calming dark blue walls that rival a weighted blanket, and the bright mural of two dessert travelers stumbling upon Milly's like it's a little oasis—so cute. All of it. The menu is classics done well, like arepas, cachapas, and what are definitely some of the best Venezuelan empanadas in Miami. Nothing on that menu is more than $15 either, and Milly’s is a great way to convince any friends who never go south of Coconut Grove to come visit you in Kendall. " - Ryan Pfeffer, Virginia Otazo

Milly's Empanada Factory Review - Kendall - Miami - The Infatuation

"Milly's is a casual Venezuelan spot in Kendall that's impossible to describe without using the word "cute" at least seven times. Google
Small counter order restaurant with a full menu. Lots of empanadas and Venezuelan treats. We had a couple of empanadas, which were tasty. We had Milly’s famous Pabe-yo-yo as featured in Diners Drive In’s and Dives. It was quite flavorful, but a bit too much. I would stick with some simple empanadas.

Google
I love this place, where the food is spectacular, where the flavor is so important, whatever you order from all the variety they have, everything, but everything is delicious... where the atmosphere and cleanliness play a tremendous role... I challenge you to go eat here. The personalised and dedicated attention takes care of every detail to make your experience the best. And as it happened to me, I know you'll return. I recommend it 200%. The best option of Venezuelan food.

Google
This place is delicious! Always so kind and quick to serve your food. The sizes are very generous too! Come on Wednesdays for their empanada happy hour and get a $1 off each empanada.

Google
Excellent food and service! Always comforting when I stop by.

Social Delight

Google
I stopped by a few weeks ago after hearing my mom rave about how delicious these empanadas are. I have to say, they really did live up to the hype — the flavor was excellent! However, the young woman at the front desk could have been a bit more welcoming. We mentioned it was our first time and that we were visiting from out of town, so a warmer reception would have made the experience even better.

Google
What can I say about Milly's that I haven't told before to the people that I recommend it to them. To start, if you go for something similar to fast food, the empanadas, the Venezuelan-style hot dog is a good option and let's not talk about their patacones, they are delicious! It's delicious food! What I love about Milly's besides their food, definitely their attention, always warm, respectful and if they do their best to ensure that the customer is satisfied, and since they moved, they have a much more comfortable space to enjoy the food. And the best thing about this place is that even though most of its products are fried, it doesn't smell like frying or old oil and that is very important to me.

Google
Nice small place. A must try. Typical Venezuelan fast food a must try. Tried the breakfast croissant with eggs and bacon. Decent. Cachapa with steak, steak came a little cold. 3 tequeños were good for $5+. 2 adults 1 child. 1 jugo d mora. $37+

Google
First I apologize for not uploaded food pictures but I just was really hungrier. I ordered the Milly’s home cheeseburger 😍😋😋 just incredible, amazing flavor, one of the best burgers I had tasted in Miami. My kids loved the hotdogs as well, they said the taste was awesome. Place is really nice, well decorated. The owner was the one attending the customers, he was amazing, I can tell that the place is really good managed. Is a family business, owner’s mom is the obedient who cooks the meats, and it really tastes amazing. If you want to eat good you need to go there. Oh, I almost forgot they have a great selection of empanadas.

Yelp
This place was delicious! I had their paballon empanada and oh my god wow! Everything tasted freshly made to order. I also added the hot sauce and the cilantro sauce to it and it made it 20 times better. Wow! I also had the iced cafe con leche which was out of this world. And lastly I had the guava and cheese tequeño which was also out of this world. I had never had a tequeño with cream cheese in it and it makes all the difference. The girl that took my order was very nice and helpful when I had question on some of the food. The ambiance was quiet as I was the only one eating there. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Great menu, great food, and great locale. The place is very clean and spacious. It nicely decorated. I ordered ground beef, shredded beef, and spinach & cheese empanadas. They were very tasty and filling . I ordered my food to go but the service was very quick and attentive. Will definitely be back to try other yummy empanadas.

Yelp
When we walked in we were impressed by how new, modern and clean the place is. The booths are very comfortable. There's a tablet for you to order at the entrance but you are also welcome to order directly at the counter. There's a good selection of empanada and other things to try, including burgers. Gluten free, vegan, all covered. We tried the Yo-Yo, ham and cheese in sweet plantain, which hits the salt+sugar+fat holy trinity that makes it insanely delicious. Don't forget to try their spicy salsa, which is available at the edge of the counter, which gives the perfect vinegary spicy kick to whatever you add it to.

Yelp
I loved this place so much that I visited three times. Here's what we tried: - Cheese Empanada: Good - Ground Beef Pastelito: Also good - Cheese Tequeno: Good, but we preferred the texture of the empanada more - Milly's Famous Pabe- YoYo: Delicious, rich with flavor, and great for sharing - Cafe Con Leche: We loved it so much that we kept coming back .We don't have anywhere else to compare it to - Hot Dog: It was nice to see a different take on a hot dog; we loved all the toppings - Venezuelan Iced Chicha :this was not for me I had no clue how thick this beverage was. Taste was good just too thick. I totally love this place. It's a total gem! The restaurant itself is also very cute and roomy and the staff were friendly.

Yelp
One of the cutest Venezuelan places in Miami. The decor is super cute and the place was very clean. Their style of empanadas reminded me of the ones we used to have in Tucacas, Venezuela The dough was sweet and very crunchy, we wished they had a little more filling though. The price is kind of high for the little amount of filling there is. Service was okay, nothing outstanding, but the girl was nice. They have free parking available which is always nice. Overall a good spot and great if you live in Kendall and don't want to travel too far to get good Venezuelan food. Don't forget to take a picture with the empanada shaped mirror!

Yelp
These empanadas are something you have to try. They are crispy and thin but very filling and cooked at the perfect temperature so that when you take your first bite you feel the taste of perfection in your mouth.
google avatar

Yelp
I come from Georgia so places like these is very limited, so when my parents took me here, WOW! I am in shock with how good this place is. The food is absolutely delicious (especially the cheese empanada), the employees are friendly and the place is really clean. We have came almost everyday for breakfast, and will definitely miss this place. Please expand to Georgia!!
google avatar

Yelp
Location: Close to Kendall Regional hospital. Ambiance: Small comfy place, ideal for breakfast Food: delicious empanadas. Pabellon was very nice. Tequeños looked more like tequeñones which are difficult to find. Service was good.

Karen H.

Yelp
After ordering my food and looking at the receipt, I told the girl in the front that she charged me $6.00 instead of $3.00 extra for the shredded beef that was stated in the menu she said that she didn't have a manager working and she didn't know how to change the mistake. BEWARE AND LOOK AT YOUR RECEIPT!
google avatar

Yelp
OMG!!!!!! The best empanadas! I had the ground beef, chicken, and spinach. You have to try it with Milly's homemade spicy dressing! I had an entire small cupful with each bite! Milly herself greeted us at the door with open arms. She offered me a taste of her delicious coffee as well. My daughter had Milly's Home Cheeseburger and loved the potato sticks added! Mmmmmmm, if you want yummy food with a homestyle feel, go check out Milly's!
google avatar

Arianna B.

Yelp
As a Venezuelan, I can definitely confirm these empanadas are delicious. Now, do I feel my ancestors yelling at me for spending $48 on 2 cheese empanadas, an arepa, and a burger? Yes. Do I care? Not really, it was worth it! Besides that, everyone was friendly and the vibe was just right. Venezuelan disco and perfectly crisp empanadas, I'm not complaining! I'll definitely be back soon
google avatar

Yelp
Milly's is amazing. The food is made to order, the service is impeccable and the space is incredibly clean.

Yelp
Service was quick, fast, and staff were friendly! Restaurant was very clean and offer some seating inside where you can eat as well. Enjoyed the ham and cheese, pork, and beef empanada and they are pretty big, I had to finish the rest the next day! Beef and pork were my favorite
google avatar

Yvelin R.

Yelp
Aaahhh. It had been years since I came here and wow, amazing as ever... actually, I dare say a bit better. New location is awesome!! So much more spacious and modern but same concept as previous locale. Their coffee, wow. I didn't ask what milk they use but it was bomb. Empanadas? Yum. Totally recommend. Do not skip the spicy sauce to dip in (I literally pour it over it). Gave their cachapa a try. If you like cheese, this is it. Will definitely be back after a healthy challenge I'm doing. Lol

N Y.

Yelp
Excellent service! Our first time there, and it was also our first time trying Venezuelan food. The girl at the counter was super helpful. We ordered a few things to try, and everything came out really good. We liked all of them but the Yo-yo was our favorite. The place was also very clean.
google avatar

Rosy F.

Yelp
Cute local spot. Empanadas are made to order. The day I visited, Milly's daughter was behind the counter. She made the best coffee! Good selection/variation of empanadas. Support the locals!!!
google avatar

Deanna N.

Yelp
I was so hungry I failed to take a picture of the items I purchased. There's a large selection to select from. But I highly recommend with going with one of their selections. I ordered the a la carte items and the item with Guy. There's so much flavor and worth the value. It's a very modern updated look inside. The service is just a walk up counter but you may eat inside or take it to go. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
No regresamos gracias.

Yelp
If I could give this more stars I would. After seeing this restaurant on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives, I had to come here, and I finally got that opportunity a few days ago with some friends! This was unreal. Not even close the best Venezuelan food I've had. I got their guava and cheese tequenos and their famous pabe-yo-yo. The tequenos were unreal. A juicy, sweet slab of guava and creamy cream cheese was beautifully fried in the best pastry crust I've had. I ate 3 of them by myself! The pabe-yo-yo can only be described as a sandwich of sorts with fried plantains as the bun and filled with beef, ham, queso, and black beans. It is one of the best foods I've ever eaten in general. It came with a hot vinegar sauce and a creamy cilantro sauce that I poured on top. The staff were the friendliest staff I've ever encountered - the main 2 English speaking men had smiles on their faces and kept checking on everyone eating in their restaurant.

Yelp
Great vibes - DELICIOUS EMPANADAS Like deliciousssssss Alternative milk options, vegan/vegetarian option Will come back and recommend to allllllllll
google avatar

Tony S.

Yelp
Amazing food. Fast and friendly service. Music is never too loud, and the tables are always kept clean. Can't recommend this place enough. Their famous Pabe-yo-yo is a definitely must-have.

Marta M. V.

Yelp
Amazing doesn't cut it! If I could give 10 stars I would. Starting off with the most excellent service you could ask for. Servicial!!! From the cashier to the gentleman in the back making these delicious offerings! First of all, home run.., they let us come in with are dogs who are very well behaved. Gave them water and lettuce! Yes lettuce they are fans! But Guy Fieri was right, the pabellones are DELICIOUS!!! Please don't miss this spot and try the battered fried coconut crisp dessert, I forgot the name. The most delicious fast food friendly fabuloso place to have lunch, or dinner! Great job Milly's!
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
If it hadn't been for the exceptionally long wait for our food ( over 30 minutes) , I would have rated this place 5 stars. The empanadas are very good and tasty and they have a nice selection to choose from. Ordering is easy with their tablet kiosks and the ambiance itself is nice. We will return another time and give it another shot. Hopefully l, the food will come out a lot faster this time around.
google avatar

Lao R.

Yelp
Though they are good but not worth $5 for ONE empanada. Thats just ridiculous. You can't order for a party, I can buy the cake, drinks and a few sweet treats for the price of twenty empanadas. And, you'll need twice as much to have enough to go around...$200 for empanadas...get out of here.
google avatar

Yade V.

Yelp
You know the food is good when you don't get a chance to take a picture of it first. Can't go wrong with any of the empanadas! So much flavor in each bite! Everything is so fresh and delicious. Ordering is easy breezy with your choice of either using their tablet kiosks or walking up to the counter. The staff is so friendly and service definitely made you feel at home. This New location is awesome!! much more spacious and modern while still having the same love and care as their previous location. Milly's has such a warm and welcoming feeling but, don't take my word for it you have to check this empanada gem for yourself!
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
Very cute small restaurant with a few sitting areas. The menu is clearly listed and the prices are decent for the quality and quantity you get. We got there around 11 AM, so the service was fast. The food was piping hot and delicious. The sauce is so creamy and definitely pairs well with the empanadas. Would recommend and return!
google avatar

Kristy G.

Yelp
Delicious Venezuelan empanadas. Different ways to order. They have a self kiosk. You can also order online or at the counter. The service is excellent. You can take your food to go or dine in. If you love Venezuelan food, this is the place to go. The restaurant was a little warm for my taste.
google avatar

Vanessa S.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that these empanadas are not what I expected for an empanada place. I am used to Cuban and Argentinian empanadas. However, once you get past the initial shock, this place is delicious. I really enjoyed everything I ordered and found the portions to look small but fill you up a lot. I will say they are on the pricey side, but for a once and while splurge they are great for breakfast and lunch.
google avatar

Caterina G.

Yelp
I've been here three times in the last two weeks because the first visit was that good! The tequeños are incredible, the arepas are super crispy on the outside and ooey gooey cheesy on the inside -- cheese, ham and cheese, and pabellón are amazing. The cachapa has an incredible corn flavor. And their green sauce makes everything even more special! Can't wait to come back to this adorable spot!

Brynn D.

Yelp
Our family of 10+ stopped in here for lunch. The food was delicious! The service was amazing and the restaurant was clean and well kept. We all loved what we ordered!
google avatar

Morgan C.

Yelp
Went cool spot in the area w good selections . On the Venezuelan side good offers . Sweeet empanadas are good and plantain sandwiches. Owner and staff are nice need to come try more !

Valentina C.

Yelp
The food and service is always great. The chicken empanada is my favorite. Can't wait to be back

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here since seeing it on DDD. The first time I drove there I thought it was closed and didn't go in. There wasn't a soul insight. It was as empty as my video below, but I decided to try again. I'm happy I did. I saw someone there and decided to go in. I cannot see pabellón on a menu and not order it so I did. I ordered it to go, made when ordered so super fresh, it was perfectly wrapped which was great, my pic not so much lol but it was definitely yummy. As expected, when I walked in service was fast, and it was friendly. I'm sure they get rushes. I've just been lucky enough to go when it's empty.
google avatar

Aida A.

Yelp
We finally visited Milly's Empanada Factory. The empanadas are really really good. They are made with corn dough and stuffed with anything you can imagine. I ordered two empanadas, a chicken and spicy chicken, plus a chicken pastelito. I was really hungry! The empanadas were very hot, I burned my tongue. So, be careful. My husband ordered a shredded beef empanada. We also ordered some fries. The empanadas are generous and full of flavor. Everything was Delicious. The place is small, clean and cute. The service was fast, very friendly and helpful. We'll return and recommend.

Gladys C.

Yelp
Great food and friendly service. Venezuelan food. Casual atmosphere. You order at the counter.
google avatar

Viviana P.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite Venezuelan breakfast spot. Being Venezuelan, this tastes and feels like home. I always go out of my way to come here. The service is always so warm and friendly. Their cafe con leche is super creamy. The empanadas are fried to perfection, and don't forget the mandocas! Their location is so cute and vibrant. Can't forget to take a picture with the empanada mirror! One of a kind location.
google avatar

Maria Alejandra O.

Yelp
I was feeling like having a Venezuelan breakfast and decided to try this place. The first thing is that customer service is amazing, every person is very welcoming and kind, hey offered me a little shot of colada which so appreciated at 8am lol! Food is breakfast Venezuelan, this is a place to forget about your diet, full of empanadas, pasteleros and arepas and others. I tried the breakfast arepa which was great, it comes with egg, bacon and cheese. The pabellon empanada was absolutely amazing and their coffee is super good! I'll be back next time my Venezuelan craving kicks in. For you, super recommended to try it out.
google avatar

Sierra T.

Yelp
Oddly enough the pabe yo-yo was not our favorite thing. The breakfast empanadas with ham was our fave. I ordered the corn pancakes with cheese in it and Nata, very nice. You may or may not get a seat depending on how packed it is
google avatar

Leila R.

Yelp
This place came highly recommended by some Yelp friends and I do karaoke at a nearby brewery on Thursday nights, so I popped in right before closing one night just to check it out and because I was starving. Wow! What a pleasant surprise! Seriously, the food was just beyond anything I expected! So tasty, flavorful, and filling! Big portion size, as well. I also got to try Maltin polar, a Venezuelan malt bevvy, for the first time. It was shockingly good and it paired well w/my empanada! The young guy behind the counter was also so nice and friendly! Had a great convo and he had an amazing playlist going. All in all a great experience and I will definitely be back for a repeat!

Bob T.

Yelp
Happen to be in Miami and saw the show on tv featuring Milly's Empanada Factory. We went around 7pm so plenty of seating and it was on a Tuesday. Anyhow, empanadas were delicious and just like they were on tv. They were warm and fresh. There were a lot of people picking up food to go. Since we were a big group (10 people) they gave us Tequenos for free! I Excellent service and food!
google avatar

Geraldine V.

Yelp
The food the service and the ambiance is excellent. I love the customer service and quality of their food. Definably best Venezuelan empanadas in town.
google avatar

Anemone P.

Yelp
Picked up a catering order for work. It was good but upon trying both, no one could tell the difference between the vegan and the veggie mini empanadas, like I think we just got double vegan order? Also made a point to order the gluten free empanadas and it seemed to be the same corn-based dough but just full size? So as long as the GF guests avoided the tequenos that had a wheat dough, they were ok??? If: 1- we had been offered napkins or plates for our order (got to the venue and there were none) 2- we had not had to wait for 20 minutes after pick up time 3- if there was less confusion about the vegan and GF options... it would have been perfect.

Yelp
Per the recommendation of one of my best friend's, we drove on over to Milly's to get some empanadas. Let me tell you... If Milly's was closer, I'd be a regular customer and 20 pounds heavier. My friend ordered a Patacon and a pastelito. I tried both and both were great. The Patacon is a sandwich that uses tostones in leu of buns, and it's stuffed with a lot of goodies (see pic haha); it's definitely messy so get yourself a napkin. The pastelito isn't a pastry but was filled with cheese. I ordered a beef empanada and a tequeño. The tequeños.... best tequeño I've ever had. Apparently Milly's is a made-to-order kind of place and that is honestly music to a foodie's ear, and I've actually never had a more fresh tequeño or empanada in my life. You can get a variety of different fillings for pretty much all of their items, and all of our food was fried to a perfect golden brown and had that beautiful crunch. Make sure you get some of their verde sauce and chimichurri. YUM!
google avatar

Cassie S.

Yelp
Love coming to this place on the weekend for breakfast. This is one of my favorite cafe con leches in all of Miami. Their Pastries are always perfectly made and crispy and delicious. Also one of my favorite tequenos in Miami. They also have a breakfast empanada which is so filling and so delicious. It's one of my go to orders and if you dip it in the sauce it's even better! The staff is always so nice and welcoming and their new location is just warm and inviting. Totally recommend trying this place!

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Reservation was on time, was served promptly the waiter provided good service enhancing our experience.

Yelp
I happen to love a good empanada so when I read about Milly's Empanadas & I went back to my old West Kendall hood to try'em out..! Service - can't say it was friendly; but can say, it was indifferent. Lady took my order. When I asked for a receipt, she told me, "oooh, this will be difficult". Realizing I wasn't budging, she miraculously was able to generate one for me. Place - the pics taken of this place are very deceiving 'cause it's a very tiny place & I couldn't understand its unflattering all-aluminum decor. Waiting for our food, 3 people came in & the place was packed..! My daughter & I decided to take our food to go. Glad we did because my daughter noticed ants crawling all over the different areas of the place due to improper cleanup of food off the floor. Thankfully, our food came out rather rapidly. Food - once we got our food, we checked to make sure we had everything & given the ant situation, we checked for that too. Order was missing my daughter's empanada. Just as I was going to ask the lady, she said, "I forgot your empanada". It took 10mins. to get it & she added a tequeño for the mixup. Ordered - *Tequeño (plus 1/free - $1.35) - big & cheesy & nothing we can't buy at the mall & having it taste better. *Chicken Empanada ($2.95) - not your traditional empanada but the Venezuelan version. Very thick in breading, very little chicken which was unsavory & hard to bite into. We ate 1/4 & threw away the rest...not worth the chew... *Beef Patacón ($8) - Patacón was not crispy & it didn't seem or tasted fresh. Seemed like they gave us the ends of the patacón which are usually the driest tasting. Beef - shredded & good flavor & mixed with the other ingredients, it was edible but not delicious. After a $15 bill, I can say that I've had better tasting food elsewhere without taking what seemed to be a road trip to get it & the ant situation at this place is definitely a deal breaker for me...can't give you a Bon Appétit here..!

Yelp
Hello millys , I've missed you guys so much and i am so excited for the new location. If you're feeling under the weather or just not feeling it , i promise you....a millys tequeños will fix everything wrong at the moment. Had such a warming welcome as soon as we came in we were addressed and helped right away. Jose had the best energy :)

Yelp
Food was excellent and service was fast We loved it. The location is cute, clean and the staff is super friendly.
