I came to the restaurant while in town for business and leisure. I enjoyed the Saturday off in the city and took the family for a lunch that would remind us Dominican food, a mom’s kitchen kind of thing and make us feel good. The first thing we noticed are the renovations and improvements to the decor, furniture, etc. We also noticed a very friendly and welcoming service reminding us of “la tierrita.” the food dishes mofongo, sopa de mondongo, sancocho, mofongo de langosta y las chuletas kan-kan my favorites super tasty and yes very filling. I would go back any day and recommend it to others! And also it did not break the bank, smiles.

Google
Again, we tried this restaurant at the recommendation of a Friend. We should have turned around and headed back out the minute we saw the place Inside. First, the place is extremely dark and dirty. This place hasn’t been cleaned in years. I ordered the Red Snapper Filet, according to the menu. What I received was a WHOLE fish in some funky tasting supposedly coconut sauce. Definitely, not like I’ve had while visiting the Dominican Republic. I didn’t mind the whole fish at all. It was the taste that got me. 😩 My friends ordered the Mofongo with Churrasco. They both said it was good. I tried their Mofongo, and I have to admit, it was good. With that said, all three of us agreed we will not be back.

Coming here! Reminds me of my great times in NYC! Dominican food is so good!

Google
This restaurant falls short in several areas. The food, though palatable, lacks the exceptional quality that would make it stand out. A significant concern is the cleanliness of the establishment. Not only does the restroom leave much to be desired, but the overall cleanliness of the diner itself is also questionable. This lack of attention to hygiene can detract from the dining experience. The issue of inconsistent pricing further compounds these problems. Customers may find themselves confused and frustrated when the bill does not match the prices listed on the menu or the online platform. In summary, this restaurant has room for improvement. Addressing these issues of cleanliness and pricing could greatly enhance the overall customer experience.

I love this restaurant, I come here at least twice a week. The food is always great! My personal fav is the small picadera. The music, the atmosphere everything is just amazing

Google
Can't say enough about this place, it's not just about the food and service which was incredible, it was how this place made me feel at home. Took me back in time when my mom took me out to local spots around town when bands played and people dance while you enjoyed a great meal. Owners looked very proud of what they've established here and I got to tell you that's rare to find. Milly's makes you Thank God when you find such a place. Will be returning and highly recommended.

Yelp
Update: visited on 11/22/22 Still recommend a visit to Milly's if you're visiting the area. This place is a very small mom and pop place but they do have some indoor seating and they have parking as it is in a plaza. While this place may not be the fanciest the food to me is absolutely delicious. There are not many places that know how to make Mofongo and this was the reason why I came back. I brought two friends with me so that they too can experience how delicious the food is. We ordered two orders of Mofongo with Pork Chunks, one order of Mofongo with Pollo a la Plancha, and an avocado salad. Take a look at the pictures I have posted to give you and idea on their servicing size and how good it all looks. Hope if you visit that you too will enjoy and wish this restaurant continued success.

Yelp
We have been here a few times and always leave with a happy stomach! The food is amazing. We had the magu with fried eggs and fried cheese. Our waiter was super friendly too. We highly recommend

Yelp
Every time I come to MIA I will come here! The service is 5 star. Food is ! Ambiance will have feelings welcomed!

Yelp
We opted to try Milly's restaurant and ordered mangu with salami, eggs, and cheese. It reminded me of home, the way my grandmother cooks it. I, too, enjoyed every bite. The waiter was quick and made sure everything was excellent. The restaurant was spotless, and the atmosphere was relaxing."

Yelp
Awesome authentic Dominican food and great service! Best chicken soup I've had in a very long time! My bf reeeeeeally enjoyed his plate as well!! We loved it!!
google avatar

Lucii R.

Yelp
I love the mangu they make, it takes almost as good as how my grandmother makes it hahaah but I don't like the decorative style inside. Seems very outdated and dimmed lights. I also don't like that you can't order ahead on the phone or pay on the phone at times... it's pretty far out and so to drive there and then wait for the food seems very tedious. Other than that, great good!

Delia G.

Yelp
Today I had the worst experience with the food at this restaurant, I was used to go with my children and family and today we decided to eat there, today but everything was bad. Everything you could say everything. I recommend the owners to take car the place.

Isaac V.

Yelp
Wow, this place has declined! They placed us to dine in a middle of a 52 people party without warning us that they would be rehearsing. Several basic Dominican foods were not in stock, this was the case last time a year ago. Very disappointing, this place use to be good.
google avatar

Jewell C.

Yelp
First time trying Dominican food and I was amazed at how good everything was. The prices are reasonable and the portions are big. The staff was very nice and welcoming. If you're in Miami this is a must try!

Yelp
Had an amazing dinner. The food was so delicious and the service was amazing. I would recommend this place if you were missing mom's home cooked food. The owner came to the table and gave us complimentary items to try. Hector was very hospitable and friendly.
google avatar

Jean-Marie L.

Yelp
The worst food that I have ever had. The mofongo and tostones were drenched in oil. The chicken chicharones were very dry and salty. The rice was bland and the Dominican cake tasted like instant box cake. I paid $60 and I don't recommend the place to anyone.

Barbara L.

Yelp
I just came back today 7/22/23 when we got in the person that came to the door to sit us was on her cell phone and she didn't even make eye contact she gave us a menu and walk away then she came back and then later she gave us our food and water and walk away to a bar in the back of the restaurant and my husband drank all his water and couldn't find her and then finally we ask for our tickets to pay and we couldn't believe they charged us SERVICE CHARGE????? And 18 percent tip included for a Terrible service And then they give you a receipt with a line for more tip PLEASE I will never go back there, the food was not bad but it wasn't that good either

Yelp
I loved this place. Warning, mush post ahead: My wife is Dominican and I havent seen her in a couple months (she lives in our house in Puerto Plata with our son). I was feeling a little homesick, so I sought out some Dominican food. Immediately, I felt right at home. I started with a couple of Quipe, a Presidente and moved on to my Churrasco. This is probably the most authentic Quipe I have eaten outside my own kitchen. Churrasco was well seasoned and tasty. The rice/beans were just like my wife makes. All in all, I walked out feeling a little less homesick and refreshed. Decor and atmosphere is nothing great to speak of, but it is very homey and relaxing. I live in NYC (Dominican north) and I must say this is the nicest experience I have had off of the island. Will definitely return on my next trip. Thanks for uplifting me a little!

Yelp
Amazing amazing amazing legit Domimican food. You know when you walk into this place that you're going to get a REAL mangú!!!!
google avatar

Yaretzi F.

Yelp
The food was so yummy and traditional Dominican food. Everything I was looking for. Everything was tasteful and made with love. The chicharrones de pollo was amazing, chicken chunks. The chivo (goat) was okay, I'm not a fan of goat. The sancocho was so good. Along with the rice beans and plantains. Defiantly recommend for authentic Dominican food. I order the food to go. The service was alright , nothing special.

Jaklyn P.

Yelp
Best dominican food! They have all the classics and the best mangu I've ever had! Come back during semana santa for habiculeas con dulce.

Yelp
What kind of Dominican Restaurant Doesn't Have Carne Guisada or Arroz con Gandules? I will tell you what they do have is a Nasty Attitude Went in to order some food asked if they had the above items I was told no with an attitude I will never ever come back to this place and I suggest you never come either. I give this place 0 Stars
google avatar

Yelp
We wanted to try their mangu. It's good. Not the best I've had. It's a bit pricey for meal $11.95. And there's another price for $8.95 and waitress said it's the serving size. The cafe con leche was very good and strong. Wish it was unlimited but we took another one to go. Wait staff was nice. We were the only one there at that time and server was taking longer than. I wanted

Yelp
Such a cute restaurant and cozy, they have great customer service and delicious food. The portion sizes are good. They have meat and seafood options. I'm a pescatarian and they had a variety of options for me.

Yelp
We enjoyed our meal at Milly's, the mofongo tasted great. The parking lot can get hectic during the day, but at night we had no issue getting a spot. The restaurant was freezing!!! I wish I would have had a jacket. I will be returning for takeout for sure
google avatar

Victor R.

Yelp
Been going to Miami for almost a year and business partners always mention me about Milly's Restaurant. I have to say that this place was absolutely amazing. Been a puertorriqueño, I have to tip my hat to the Mofongo they made "it melt in my mouth" with tons of flavor. This small joint was absolutely ridiculous good. I will be back
google avatar

Francis M.

Yelp
This place is great for food , but horrible for Service the two ladies working as waitress are not the best at their job. If you want appetizers they will take 30 mins to have it . Waiting on food almost 40 mins still no food . If you ask about how much longer they will respond in a rude way. I honestly recommend ordering to eat out or call ahead this is ridiculous the amount of time you have to wait to be served. A family arrived at same time and got their food in less time then us. Won't be returning
google avatar

Judy L.

Yelp
Unbelievable authentic Dominican gem! Food was outstanding! Small, but cozy - service was great - we will come back for sure!
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
I'm not Dominican but I am from New York and have many Dominican friends/family and I know what a good Dominican plate of food is. If you're here in Miami, look no further! It was FANTASTIC!!! I will definitely be coming back. This place is a hidden gem.

Yelp
Ordered 1 thing and recieved another. Staff was very mean & stand offish. Very unpleasant, I will try another dominican resturant next time. Also, why is it that so many restaurants don't have arroz con Pollo on the menu? Am I missing something I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE
google avatar

Diana M.

Yelp
Amazing food, excellent presentation and so full of flavor. I had the garlic chicken with rice and beans and it was 10/10. My partner had the mangu with salami, fried egg and cheese, tasted just like if we were in the island. The service is great as well!
google avatar

Gaby F.

Yelp
Unfortunately, it was a 2-stars. I had high hopes for this restaurant. I called in advance to make sure they had their mangu and to reserve a table for six. They told me they were going to have mangu so there we went. Once we arrived we ordered two appetizers and all of us ordered a drink only to find out that there was no more mangu(reason we were there and reason I called in advance) and they wouldn't have anymore ready even if we decided to wait an hour or two. We left with no mangu and paying 30ish for drinks and an appetizer. Very disappointing. So that was my first time. After that we decided to give it another try. The second time we did not call in advance and we had the mangu but it was not what I expected. It lacked a little bit of flavor and I wish it had not been so dry. The best part of our meal was our dessert :the Dominican cake; that was good, the rest I can do without. Ever since, I have been making mangu at home. I do not think we will be going back. Service was ok.

Yelp
Visited this restaurant based on yelp reviews and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was great! The service was super fast! And the waiters were very attentive. My mother ordered a quipe and the Sancocho, and was very surprised at how good it was. They served her a big bowl with white rice on the side that was seasoned to perfection. We also ordered avocado and they were perfectly ripe. I ordered the shrimp ajillo with a side of rice and beans. The shrimp were huge and also very well seasoned. The meal was amazing and we were out of the restaurant in under an hour, we will definitely return.

Danelia D.

Yelp
The food was really good! I definitely recommend the mangu, it was yummy. The waiters are very nice. And the pricing was very fair, pretty cheap for such a yummy meal.
google avatar

Graciela O.

Yelp
If you want good food and amazing service you have to come here. The best Dominican food I've had aside from the one my mom makes. The service is amazing, the food is amazing and the kiara and Isabel are great!! Im glad I walked in and donde let the outside fool me, this is my home now . Gracias por tener tan bien servicio y tan rica comida.
google avatar

Yelp
It had been a while since I ate here. On a recent visit, food quality was not as great as I remember. My family and I used to visit frequent as it was one of the only legit Dominican places in Miami. Mofongo was dry and made with platanos medio maduros "arcojolaos". Same with the tostones. Please use green plantains and add more chicharron. Longaniza was too hard because it was over fried. Carnitas fritas were too salty. Croquetas de bacalo were perfect and so was el asopao de camarones. These two were the winning plates and earned you 3 stars. I'll give you another chance whenever in the area and in the mood. Hope it will be back to previous standard.
google avatar

Eli N.

Yelp
3 stars is just right for this place. Maybe 3.5. The parking is horrible. The food and service are great. Definitely have to go for one of the mofongo options. The mofongo with shrimp or longaniza are the best by far. The drinks are ok so I'd go with just a Presidente and you'll be good to go. They didn't have everything in the menu that day so that sucked.
google avatar

George H.

Yelp
Awesome Dominican food food is fresh and super tasty. They had the best beans I've ever had. Oxtail was pretty good as well . Friendly staff fast service great food I will be back
google avatar

Yelp

google avatar

Yamila D.

Yelp
Found this gem in a plaza. From the outside it didn't look so nice but when you walk in it's the cutest place. It's small but super cozy. The staff was very friendly and stopped by the table to talk and see how the food is. I'm so glad we came across this restaurant because we will be definitely be back. I will make the drive to eat here again.
google avatar

Yelp
I was in the mood for some Mofongo con camaron( smashed plantains with shrimp). My husband and I didn't feel like eating at the restaurant so we decided to order for pick up. We ordered the mofongo with shrimp, and masitas de puerco(fried pork chunks) served with your choice of salad and sweet fried plantain. So I was told that the order will be ready in 20 minutes. When you get there the place is located in a shopping center that has plenty of parking space. The location of the shopping center is a little rundown but don't be discouraged. When you first walk into the restaurant it feels somewhat dark inside, the reason is because the windows are tinted you could only see from the inside out, they also have music playing that is heard in all of the restaurant. They have many tables and chairs. The restaurant itself is not that big. A lady greeted me and asked me how many people with me. I then told her that I was picking up, she asked me to follow her and handed me my order. The food was so so Delicious, the masas de puerco were cooked to perfection, really tender and the flavor was on point, the sweet plantains were just perfect. The mofongo with shrimp so so delicious as well, everything that we ordered was just perfect, it is a little overpriced but is worth every penny. I will definitely be ordering again from this restaurant. Just the thought of the food makes my mouth water that's how amazingly delicious everything was. Oh by the way the mofongo with shrimp gets you really full, I couldn't finish it all.
google avatar

Yelp
Haven't had Dominican food in awhile and haven't been to Milly's in ages. Milly's has been a Dominican staple in Calle ocho for years and the food and flavors haven't changed. Had the pollo al ajillo with rice, beans and avocado. Very good food and satisfied my cravings. The ambiance hasn't changed on the inside of the place as well. Milly's is recognized by many famous people as well especially baseball players and politicians from the homeland. To go along with my meal I had a morir soñando (Die Dreaming) drink which was spot on as well and it's not an alcoholic drink as many would wonder but it's a native traditional Dominican drink that one would have with breakfast or dinner if you like that contains orange juice, condensed milk or regular and a sprinkle of vanilla extract and sugar. The service was good as well. So if you're in the mood for some Dominican food, don't hesitate to give Milly's a try.
google avatar

Jen B.

Yelp
Wow. Not only was the waitress extremely rude, but she actually seemed PISSED that we walked in and sat down to eat. She rolled her eyes because we spoke english. She acted annoyed that we asked any question of the menu. I ordered a Cubano and she snapped at me that they dont have it. Every time I said thank you she sneered and refused to acknowledge that I spoke. She slammed down our plates and our cups. I've truly never felt more unwelcome in a business. Will never come back.
google avatar

Charlene T.

Yelp
AMAZING! It was the one of my favorite places here in Miami. I was visiting from New York and was craving some Dominican food and this place did not disappoint. The Mangú and the mofonogo was to die for! The mofongo was the biggest I have ever seen and it was so delicious.
google avatar

Daniel R.

Yelp
Went to this spot with my grandmother today, we decided to switch it up. I loved the setting at this place, but let's get to the food! We had the tostones with camarones (fried green plantain with shrimp) to start and it didn't disappoint. For the main course I had the salmon with rice, beans and Maduros. Basic plate nothing crazy and it they cooked it perfect. I can definitely see myself coming back to this place
google avatar

Dwayne S.

Yelp
did not have the item I ordered. Only found out about them being out of chicken when the doordash person showed up at the restaurant an hour later.
google avatar

Otty B.

Yelp
Definitely it was the worst decision to pass by this restaurant. I been here a few time , the food was good but overpriced. I came back cause I like the flavor of the Empanadas & the Fry Chicken with rice and beans. The food today was horrible. Not sure if the change the chef and recipes. The employees make me feel so uncomfortable instead of having a friendly welcome environment. Definitely am not going to come back ever again here. Worst service, quality of food & overpriced.
google avatar

Ciara M.

Yelp
Came here on 02/02/2020! The better half wanted mangu and we stumbled upon this restaurant via yelp. He definitely enjoyed it! I ordered their rabo guisado because I am a big fan of oxtails. It definitely did not disappoint! It came with beans and rice. The sauce with the rice was so good! The oxtail was so on point. It was soft and tender. The meat was not hard to bite off the bone. It was amazing! We partnered our dishes with some cafe con leche. Delicious! The service here was also great. I hope to come back!

MaShania T.

Yelp
Amazing!! This was a gem! You will not be disappointed with breakfast or dinner. Thr food was exploding with flavor and the customer service was a rare find.

Yelp
This is the Best Dominican restaurant you will find anywhere in Florida. The food is AMAZING it has a flavor of Dominican republic i feel like if im in Dominican Republic everytime. The waitresses are always nice and always comfort me with anything i need every single time i go which i go at more than once a week. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone and anyone.

Yelp
If you know san cocho - then this place is a must, they make it every weekend and it takes just like your moms ! The empanadas are made with cassava flour , you won't stop coming back !

Yelp
Evertime I come here, Roberto takes care of me. He's fantastic. If you want to have a good experience ask for him. He always has great recommendations. If you read this, keep up the good work. Cada vez que vengo, Roberto es mi mesero, es fantástico. Si quiere tener una buena experiencia pregunta por el, no te arrepentirás. Siempre tiene buenas recomendaciones. Si lees esto, manten el buen trabajo.
google avatar

Yelp
The mofongo doesn't taste as a Mofongo at all, more like a dry mangu, told the waitress to what she replied that they won a recognition for having the best mofongo in town (I wonder who gave that award and if they have tried a real one before) . Brought me the chef, that happens to be her son, that told me that I was wrong and if I haven't seen the award they got, that I had tried not well made mofongos before that's why I didn't knew what a mofongo was. (Born and raise in Dominican Republic, so I guess the whole island is wrong) Both upset and with attitude and I'm the client here, and paid for it, horrible experience, they were disrespectful and instead of apologizing or trying to do things better, they did the opposite
google avatar

Holmes B.

Yelp
3 stars for an ok Mofongo when I expected great since they got some recognition back in 2015 for the Mofongo. I started with the codfish croquettes and that was the highlight of my meal which is not what I expected. I came here to try the famous award winning Mofongo and left a bit dissapointed. I ordered with pepper chicken which is basically chicken fajitas made with onions and peppers. The plantain mash was very dry and if it wasn't for the sauce that came with the fajitas it would've been even harder to eat. I got one piece of chewy pork rind(chicharrón) in the mix and the outside of the mash was hard almost like chewing rubber. The chicken on the fajitas had really good flavor but was also very rubbery as if it was reheated. Honestly I ate this because I was really hungry but it was not a good meal except for the croquettes. I guess they used to cook better and make an amazing Mofongo back on the day but I never had it before so I'm just judging what I had today.
