Where to Eat, Drink, and Snack in West Philly: A Local’s Guide - Eater Philly

"We run the People's Fridge alongside Mina's World, and it’s an option for anyone who needs a free meal, no questions asked. It might seem like an unlikely destination when you’re looking at food spots, but we just started a new program where everyday cooks are dropping off 20 to 40 meals, and it’s allowing folks to try home cooking of all levels. All the food is really nutritious beautiful dishes that you can tell the person who cooked it made it with loving intention. You can support the People's Fridge through Venmo @thepeoplesfridge215." - Maddy Sweitzer-Lamme

Mina’s World in West Philly Explores the Line Between Representation and Tokenization - Eater Philly

"For once, Sonam Parikh would like to be written about for being the best. The menu at Mina’s World — from the house-made cardamom syrup to the pea-and-tofu samosas — is what makes it notable, Parikh says." - Dayna Evans

In Philly, Mina’s World Is the New Clubhouse for Coffee, Samosas, and Mutual Aid | Bon Appétit

"Mina’s World is a community-oriented, QTPOC-owned and -operated coffee shop. It doubles as a community hub, offers home goods made by local artists, serves snacks and drinks nodding to the owners' combined Indian and Korean roots, and aims to be an alternate kind of coffee shop in Philly with fair employee pay, ethical sourcing for coffee beans, and a community fridge outside the venue. Drinks include chai with rose syrup, yuja-cha, and samosas, as well as specialty drinks like the Brazilian-inspired beverage created by their manager of operations, Paula Cooke. They use Passenger Coffee for their beans and chai. The space is designed with touches like daffodil yellow hand-tiling and a custom cow print ceramic tip jar made by Bee Daddy & Sons with Scott Cooper." - ByEmma Orlow

Charming staff, excellent selection of pastries from local bakeries (including surprisingly good gluten free donuts), and great coffee options. So glad I live near this treasure. I'm completely addicted to the cardamom latte, and recently tried the Pink Drink - delicious!

I feel so cared about every time I go there. Every barista is so kind, and they go out of their way to make you feel taken care of- whether they’re just remembering your order or putting something extra in your bag or drawing cute art on your cup. Their work on the community fridge and their commitment to paying baristas during the pandemic and constantly donating to people + projects that need help shows their commitment to helping others. It’s a huge gift to live minutes away from such an amazing shop. I tell everyone about it.

I come here for my coffee quite often, as a treat on my days off. I usually get the special drink of the season, and I have yet to be disappointed. I've also ordered regular menu items a few times, and the drinks and food are always spot on, delicious, and satisfying.

Coffee is great. They also have holistic products. But what I really like in our "changing" community is the large commercial refrigerator thats outside where they have free healthy food for anyone who needs it to take it. I will support Mina World just for that reason.

Google
this place provides a great community fridge, local baked goods, ethically sourced coffee,..... had been looking fwd to the day the interior properly opened because its so cute! sad about the drama, hoping theres a way for this place to remain with kate and sonam, who have put so much heart into it.
