A long-running Cantonese standby known for weekend dim sum carts and an expansive seafood menu. Praised by local food writers for keeping traditions alive, it’s where families gather for roast meats, rice noodle rolls, and hot tea.

This place is delicious!! We got the ginger pork and glass shrimp off of the dim som menu and I can’t wait to try more next time! Also got a combination sizzling plate and it was amazing and full of veggies. The staff were all very polite and the service was fast. I will absolutely be going back and I would highly recommend giving it a try!

Passing Albuquerque to Telluride for a vacation. Not like Austin, restaurants close early here, and we arrived right after they cleaned up everything around 8:30pm, but the restaurant served my family for anther hour after their regular schedule. I didn’t know Albuquerque before, but I will remember this evening in my life. Everyone is so focusing and busy these days with phones, anyone goes extra steps for me always moves me a lot, especially from strangers. If you happen to visit Albuquerque in the future, and if you like Authentic Cantonese food, please try Ming Dynasty! Great people and great food!

Came here for lunch today. We wanted to try a little bit of everything. You can order from their standard menu or their Dim Sum menu. We ordered Jasmine Tea, Chicken Potstickers, Baked BBQ Pork Bun, Sausage & Chicken Sticky Rice, Sweet Sesame Balls, Fried Chicken Wings and Salt & Pepper Pork Chop. A lot of this was dinner too :) The service was very prompt and checked on us frequently. The potstickers were crispy and delicious. The BBQ Pork Bun was a good pick. The bread is sweet and then you get to the savory bbq pork. The chicken & pork sticky rice was okay, probably just a one time thing. The chicken wings were a little dry but still okay. The Sesame Balls are a sweet treat to have at the tail end of your meal. Finally the Salt & Pepper Pork Chop was the highlight dish of our meal. I would highly recommend this dish. It’s a perfect blend of crispy, tender pork and flavorful paired with the rice. Makes an amazing bite combination. Will definitely be back to try some other dishes too.

We jumped on the Albuquerque Foodies bandwagon and tried Ming Dynasty. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious. Though they have a sign asking for patience for lack of staff, we were served quickly and our food came out much faster than expected. We enjoyed the pork and ginger dumplings as well as the stuffed shrimp on the sugar cane. We will be going back to try even more. A good place for a small bite or a large shareable meal.

Google
Absolutely delicious! Staff were wonderful and quick! Very clean Steamed pork ginger buns, egg fried rice, sesame chicken & white rice. Some of the best fried rice I’ve had around here.

The atmosphere was quiet and clean. The service was pretty fast. The food was served hot and fresh. I ordered the fish rolls off the appetizer menu and they were delicious. The steamed vegetables w mushroom on the diet food menu. Served hot. I didn't want all the salt so a side of sweet sour sauce . They always gv u alot of food im impressed. I'm sure they would prepare you're food however you request. Can't wait to go back.

If you want to dig in some authentic Chinese, and in particular, Cantonese (from the Southern part of China) food, but not those distorted, fast-food styles that are more catered to Americans, this is the place. The presentation and taste do not lie. Yang Chow fried rice and bok choy with beef are the kind of local dishes that you cannot resist. Dim-sum (bite size treats ranging from buns to desserts) menu is also available.

Google
My mom insists I take her here every year for mother's day, as dim sum was a tradition for us when we lived in Chicago. To my knowledge this is one of only 1 or 2 dim sum restaurants in ABQ, so not a lot of options here. I know I shouldn't expect much, but I don't think we should pretend this is OK. Food variety was fairly good for dim sum, I guess, but quality was highly inconsistent, and some hot dishes arrived cold. Service was especially atrocious. I wish I didn't have to come back here every year.

Yelp
I give it a 4 stars for dimsum in ABQ, but probably 3 stars in larger cities. What I liked about it was...this was one of the traditional places where they pushed dimsum carts for you to pick what you liked (albeit smaller selection of food...since dimsum isn't so popular in ABQ). The food tasted ok..but I appreciated the kindness of the staff and their service mindedness. I really wished they had more selection of food though. For example, I was hoping their would have fried taro paste in birds nest (ok..I know..this one is really chinese), or even custard buns (this one..I was surprised they didn't have), or..even chicken feet (ok..I don't eat these anyways but hey..it's a testament to what dimsum place would look like). But otherwise, if you arelooking to take someone to try dimsum and aren't so put off by the ambience (the place is quite unassuming..but was fine to me), this id probably a more authentic dimsum place in ABQ to me (granted the sign on the street was a Lil too much of an acclamation of NM's state of dimsum)!

Yelp
Came by with a large group for dimsum on a Saturday shortly after they opened. Plenty of seating and the service is amazing. We kept getting checked in on, making sure we were getting all the food we were interested in. On to the dimsum, it's probably some of the better dimsum I've had in ABQ. Shumai and hargao are pretty good, and the buns are fluffy and a great comfort. Would recommend coming by if you're craving some dimsum in ABQ!

Yelp
Our last (most recent) trip into the city had me craving Chinese food. In the list, I saw that Ming Dynasty served Dim Sum (steamed rolls) and something that I had never tasted before. The really helpful and patient server helped me choose the BBQ pork option. We received three large buns and they tasted so sweet and delicious that I highly recommend them. For dinner, he recommended the orange chicken, and hubby and I really enjoyed it. I took home leftovers to enjoy that night but I really appreciate the value received for the price. Ambiance wise, we couldn't stop staring at the detailed intricate ceiling tiles and potential use of the large dining room which was only partially in use when we arrived.

Yelp
When we are next back, we will be returning to this restaurant for sure!!! The owner is his fantastic; he is sweet and kind, and truly cares about the satisfaction of his customers. One of our party ordered a dish similar to Mongolian beef and the clarity of the ginger and garlic flavors were amazing! Everyone on the table kept stealing bites lol. The dim sum was amazing. I am a dim sum fanatic and have eaten it all over the world. While nothing earth shattering, it was traditional dim sum, cooked well, seasoned to perfection, and the chili crisp on that table was out of this world.

Yelp
The food took a very long time, and wasn't great. I had a few different items from the dim sum menu and my fiancé got orange chicken. The consistency of near all of it was "off", and it was extremely bland. But the service was not bad, and it had been a long day for them (this was. Christmas Day), so I imagine folks in the kitchen were tired. I had been excited to try this place but it was pretty underwhelming. Would have given two stars but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt due to the crazy busy day they must've had. Still, I doubt I will go back. The food just wasn't good enough to give them another try.

Yelp
Best dim sum place I've tried. Went around 1130 and parking wasn't an issue and there was seating. Attentive staff so great service good vibes

Yelp
Came in to try the Dim Sum with my husband for a little date without the kids. It was SO GOOD! I love that it is an actual Dim Sum restaurant with the price structure to actually be able to try a plethora of dishes. I really loved the ginger beef dumplings and the chinese broccoli. My husband's favorite was the spear ribs and the shrimp shumai. We WILL DEFINITELY be back. Also it has that small family business feel that I love. Casual for any occasion and the staff were very nice.
google avatar

Maithili S.

Yelp
So this is a more authentic dimsum restaurant. They have the dimsum cart at lunch. Ambience is not their highlight. But it's inexpensive and tasty.
google avatar

Victoria L.

Yelp
Great! I started off my meal with Vietnamese coffee. It was iced and really delicious. My partner got the Roy Rogers drink. We were seated right away and given plates for appetizers. We started our food with pork and shrimp and scallop dim sun. It was really good to pair with their in house chile oil. The Chile oil was one of my favorite part of the entire meal. I got the Pepper Steak combination plate and would highly recommend it. The service was quick and kind. The environment was clean. The food came out in appropriate and quick timing.

Sharon Q.

Yelp
Food and service are always amazing here everything is always so delicious and as you can see my fiancé and I ordered a lot here and I'm so glad we found this place! Ambiance is welcoming and warm definitely try their Dim Sum menu!
google avatar

Heidi A.

Yelp
I love dimsum. Grew up eating them from a young age, as my mom is Chinese and also liked it. Definitely not the best dimsum I've ever had, but pretty good for Albuquerque. It's always fun to share it with multiple people so you can try many different items. The service was great as we had a few carts come around to us. Not a fancy place but a cozy hole-in-the-wall dimsum place.

William R.

Yelp
My favorite Chinese Food in Albuquerque - for over 20 years!Ming is one of the hardest working people I know, and his family works with him to provide outstanding and authentic Chinese food. Sure, you can get the Americanized sweet Chinese food like Sweet and Sour Pork, Sesame Chicken, Chop Suey, etc. - and he does those well, but when you want a more authentic experience, he hits it out of the park. Especially with his DIm Sum. Weekends an Ming Dynasty are the best with fresh Dim Sum delivered on carts and a wheeled steam table.
google avatar

Randy A.

Yelp
I was nervous because it was lunchtime and the place was huge, and empty. I almost left. I'm glad I didn't. It was delicious! We ordered a lot of different items to try and every one of them was good. Also reasonably priced. I plan on being a regular customer.

Yelp
It's pretty sad the yelpers here are giving this place a 4 or 5 star rating and boasting about how they visited Hong Kong and lived in a large city( did you mean you had a layover in the airport?)when they can't even tell Ming dynasty's majority of the "dimsum" came from the local Asian grocery store frozen foods section. Food has always been gross for the last 35 years, place is filthy and under perform.
google avatar

Yelp
Dim Sum is hard to find in this corner of the country. Having lived in the Bay Area for a bit, visited Hong Kong a few times, and spent a decent time of my life in a larger city (Chicago), I have experience a somewhat wider spectrum of Dim Sum. Our family reside in Santa Fe and decided to explore Dim Sum on a day trip to ABQ. Based on pictures, we opted for Ming Dynasty over IT Dimsum. Literally the only legit options, it seemed. Ambiance - Great. Not fancy. But a spot to enjoy a meal. Love having a Dim Sum cart come to the table. It reminded me of the first time I tried Dim Sum in SF. My wife had never experienced this. Service - Very attentive, authentic, and fast. Nailed it. Food - Spectrum, but good to very good overall. I've never seen our 1 year old consume food like he did the chicken/sausage sticky rice. Price - Very reasonable. $60 before tip and that included a beer and leftovers to take home (2 adults, 2 children). If this was based on ABQ alone, it'd be 5 stars. In terms of where it falls on my Dim Sum spectrum, it's a solid 4. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Quality and variety in the regular menu and the dim sum. My favorite place group celebrations.

Yelp
We love this restaurant! We love the duck the baked egg dim sum!! So yummy The customer service is so good and I hope others will visit this establishment.

Yelp
I had a longtime friend in for Balloon Fiesta and tried Ming Dynasty for the first time since moving here 2 years ago. We had Dim Sum and everything was delicious. Nice clean surroundings, spotless serving vessals. They did forget to bring my order of steamed broccoli, but we didn't miss it! We were not charged. Note - my guest has lived all over the world, including Asia, and agreed it was a very good meal at a reasonable price!

Yelp
We 3 went to ming's dynasty on christmas eve. We were the first customers of the day. We have been here several times. We had fresh(verrrrry!!!) dim sum, white rice, 2 kinds of soup(hot and sour and egg drop). I had a glass of plum wine and tea. The food and service were excellent. Quite a few customers arrived after us. We highly recommend ming dynasty. P.s. On saturdays and sundays, from 11:00 to 1:30 the fresh dim sum is offered at your table on carts.

Yelp
Well a year has passed and I revisit this dim sum place in Albuquerque. Sadly, our experience were not as positive as it was a year before. We ordered the same items and I want to say it sucked ballz. The shumai tasted like it was about to go bad. Yea that funky weird taste. The egg yolk bread clearly microwaved and the shrimp har how was gross and slimy. They also gipped me of a bbq pork bun that they charged but did not put in my order bag. Ugh. They did this last time too but the second time? Lame. I am so sad because I was looking forward to this. I will go home with a sad face.

Jerri N.

Yelp
Friendly service, Full menu and dim sum menu as well descriptive. Restroom was clean and well lit. Went close to closing time, they closed at 8:30pm. Food was very tasteful and filling. Good serving amounts. Price was right for portion sizes.

Zabadu R.

Yelp
Went to lunch today by myself and got my usual dimsum items. Other than being seated in a bad location and being ignored for the first 10 minutes, the big surprise came when my bill was double what it has been on my last visit. The cashier blamed COVID and I said I had been there a few times since COVID and never paid the prices like that before. I'd like to say that the food was worth it, but even at noon it was lukewarm and was not as good as I've had before. It will be the last time I dine there, and I'm sure they won't care.

Yelp
I was originally really excited to come here because I didn't expect Albuquerque to have push cart dim sum. Unfortunately, I shouldn't have expected so much out of Albuquerque. Went for Dim Sum with a few friends not too familiar with Dim Sum. They seemed to enjoy it. I did not. Half of the beef and pork dishes (especially the siu mai) tasted funky, either a rotten or frozen taste. The beef tripe was ok, but that's it. I tried to chat up the ladies pushing the carts and they just seemed dismissive and rude. They weren't trying to sell anything on their cart at all and it was obvious most of the food had been sitting on the cart for at least 45 minutes if not a few hours. The reason that push carts dim sum works in most settings is because there is high turn over. In a good dim sum restaurants, the items on the push carts don't stay for more than 15 minutes, maybe 20 minutes. Dim Sum isn't popular enough in Albuqeruque to justify push cart Dim Sum in my opinion.
google avatar

Sean B.

Yelp
Some items are good, such as the pork buns. Some are bad, such as the siu mai and har gow. They both lacked flavor, and just seemed a bit off. Some are ok, like the chicken feet. Very friendly and good service. No complaints there. The restroom was also super clean. Overall ok dim sum. Wouldn't recommend if you live in an area with good dim sum, and are only visiting ABQ. If you live there though, it's worth a shot.
google avatar

Vanessa B.

Yelp
I hadn't eaten Dim Sum in almost 10 years, so this was a fun random outing with my sisters. My youngest sister had never had anything like it before, so it was fun for her to try new things. One of the women we made a little upset because we didn't know what was on her cart and she just said, here you like, gave us something (I believe it was steamed pork buns) and then avoided our table. One of them men there was very friendly and was able to explain it to my sister's easily and the best way to order and know what you are getting from the carts. It is a lot of fun to try and authentic. I enjoyed having some non-Americanized food.
google avatar

SexyChicken 1.

Yelp
Has gone down hill. FOOD POISONING I will never eat here again. This used to be fantastic, however, the food, cleanliness, and service has all been going downhill over the years.
google avatar

Friedemann D.

Yelp
It's time for them to close shop. It was almost empty when I stopped by. Should have left right away. The pork with fried noodles was one of the worst dishes in my life. Funky and old tasting thin Pork slices dried out. Noodles hard as rock. Blaaaa soy sauce. Worse than dog food. Waiting for signs of food poisioning now.

Gennie A.

Yelp
Great dim sum. Good prices I live in Santa Fe but drive there and it's most definitely worth it.
google avatar

Mica S.

Yelp
There are only two dumpling places in Albuquerque that I know of and one of them is Ming Dynasty. Service is really great. Food is average. We ordered mostly dumplings: shu mai, steamed dumplings, and pan fried dumplings. The only complaint I have is: We got a batch of not-so-good steamed shrimp dumplings which I returned. The server said that we will not be charged for it but a different server (looks like a manager/owner) gave us a replacement of yet another soggy dumplings and we got charged. I had a bad experience at Ming Dynasty years past which is why I do not really go to this place. Two of my co-workers recommended this so I gave them another chance. How's my 2nd time? I will not be coming back anytime soon in this restaurant for sure. If you are looking for dumplings in Albuquerque, I will choose It Dimsum over Ming's. Sorry.

RayRay A.

Yelp
1st impression was horrid. $30 for rock solid orange chicken. The egg drop soup tastes like a fish tank. The eggroll was soggy mush inside. The fried wontons must have been under the heat lamp since 8am. I can't even feed this crap to a dog!

Amie A.

Yelp
The food is sublime and hand made. The quality can be felt in every bite. I truly enjoy the rice and dim sun. The service good and the staff very friendly and enjoyable. A new fav nya ^_^
google avatar

Kevin G.

Yelp
I wish I could give this place more stars because I really support local Asian restaurants, but there's just too many things going wrong here it's unfortunate. Classic dim sum includes shumai and pork spare ribs. Both orders were served to us cold and it was very easy to tell that the spare ribs were recently thawed from frozen. Another one of my go to dishes is the rice noodle roll. And what we had was way too thick and the shrimp had an off taste that the soy sauce could not cover up. There were also some parts of the silverware that was dirty and our plastic plates had a few cracks in them. I left a big tip because I highly encourage Ming Dynasty to improve their quality of food and cleanliness. It's one of the only dim sum restaurants in Albuquerque so I believe they have a responsibility to keep the authenticity of true dim sum and be proud to be one of the only ones in Albuquerque.
google avatar

Doug C.

Yelp
Saddens me that this place is no good. Chinese in abq is VERY limited, they are one of the few that do dim sum, which is a pass sad to say. Tried shrimp dumplings ha gow, sui mai pork dumplings, pork short ribs, and sticky rice with chicken. The only good thing was the sticky rice. Also tried my favorite Chinese dish, beef flat noodles, which was disappointing. The service was really good and owner very kind though.
google avatar

Laura L.

Yelp
Haven't been here in years but still yummy! We had shrimp with vegetables & yang chow fried rice!!! All very delicious, fresh & quite authentic...not drowned in grease & soy sauce. I'll be back. Wish they delivered.

Yelp
Went on Mother's day, sorta by accident, but was happy with the food and the experience. I'd been told that there was no where in town to find dim sum with carts but they had carts. And I've never, not once before, had people who were fluent English speakers at the carts. I could actually ask what stuff was and get understandable answers. Will be back.
google avatar

Bill B.

Yelp
The only authentic dim sum restaurant in ABQ. The extended menu consists of around 25 items and they're all fabulous. The waitstaff is so friendly and helpful. If you're looking for dim sum this the place.

Shirley E.

Yelp
Having been born and raised in New York City and regularly eating dim sum there, San Francisco and Toronto, I was afraid I'd terribly miss dim sum when I moved to Albuquerque in 2022. Our family, though, found comfort in the variety of dim sum we found here, seeing the push cart filled with dim sum at our table and hearing our native Cantonese spoken. To be honest, the quality wasn't the same as the big cities but we've learned that coming on the weekend, when they've first opened, is the best time to get dim sum. We were here 2 Sundays ago, and not sure if they had a new chef, but it was the best we'd had. I travel to New York again in a few weeks and traditionally, I've brought dim sum home. No need to anymore. The dim sum at Ming Dynasty is great, service is attentive, our grandsons love variety and it will continue to be a regular choice for our family.

George B.

Yelp
Shocked by all of the negative reviews. Went there for the first time recently and really enjoyed the Dim Sum. The service was very friendly. Restaurant was clean. I'll definitely go back.

Katie M.

Yelp
The waiters were very attentive, and had good senses of humor. They clearly wanted to be sure we were well taken care of. The food was fabulous! The dim sum was very authentic and delicious. We were just passing through, but we all commented that we wish there was a place like this where we live, so we could go again and again!
google avatar

Sanai B.

Yelp
Wonderful food and good service. Never had a bad experience here and they give out free hand sanitizer jugs. It's nice to see a close knit establishment. A child asked a server to draw him something and the server did so with a smile on his face. I thought that was really sweet. I usually order off the dim sum menu but the salt and pepper chicken was good too.
google avatar

Donnell B.

Yelp
The food was mediocre and lacked flavor. It was heavy on the oil used as well . The service was good and they were friendly but short staffed .

Kameron E.

Yelp
Every time I've gone here during the evening on a weekday I usually order takeout they're super busy! The staff are always super nice and helpful and give my son and I free drinks while we wait for our food. I easily spend $60+ every time I eat here, so the wait is worth it. I always order off the dim sum menu. The building could use some updates but since they've gotten busier they're definitely understaffed so I know that has taken first priority. I've been coming to this restaurant since I was 9, so about 15+ years and have never noticed a change in the quality of their food as it comes out a perfect 10/10 every time. This is the ONLY place in NM where you get authentic dim sum. Everywhere else tastes like it came out of a Costco bag so I'm always more than happy to wait for my food; and note that if you feel the food isn't up to par, it's just an off day for them because this restaurant and the owner are fantastic and will always make it right.

Yelp
Awesome food! On a road trip and craving for some authentic Chinese food. Very happy that we came here. Highly recommend this place ! Great services too
google avatar

Jill M.

Yelp
The food looks so good... But I should know to always trust Yelp... I should know that by now! But I tried this place with a 3.5 star rating anyway.. the food came out.. entrees about 15 mins apart...which is a long time in dinner time. The food looked so good... but seriously lacked any flavor whatsoever. The shrimp tasted like they thawed it out and threw it in my soup bowl... which I'm sure they did.. but everything else tasted like that as well. Maybe the broth just didn't have enough seasoning to compensate for all of the wet frozen things being thrown in it.. but it was pretty gross. I didn't really even eat it. But it looked good. 2 stars for service.. which was slow, forgetful but very nice.
google avatar

Clark A.

Yelp
Fabulous food at very reasonable prices! The dim sum menu is diverse and has something for everyone. The regular Chinese menu has everything you'd expect. All of the food is of the highest quality and is served by staff who seem sincerely happy to have you there. I think it's the best Chinese option in Albuquerque!
google avatar

Judy B.

Yelp
Yikes. Not what i was expecting for the only dimsum restaraunt in all ABQ. Perhaps i had some pretty high hopes which just set the bar too high but i cant help it if i know what good dimsum should be. Let me put it this way... coming from El Paso where the only source of dimsum is frozen from Wholefoods which you will need to buy and steam yourself.... plus is considered subpar in dimsum standards.... that stuff still surpassed the so-called dimsum of Ming Dynasty. The fact that frozen dimsum from a Wholefoods store tastes wayyy better than what should be top notch from an actual restaraunt is sad. I feel some people who think the dimsum here is good need to go to CA. Specifically Orange County where i came from, and experience the closest thing to real dimsum if it isn't straight out of China itself. Im serious. I tried their har gow, shumai, sesame balls, that sticky rice stuff, and the shrimp and scallop dumplings. All were the blandest dimsum i ever tasted. Think the only decent one of the bunch was their sticky rice one. But i wouldn't waste my money and precious meal filler in ABQ for just that.
google avatar

Yelp
Very nice Dim sum. Great, quick service. Very authentic, homemade taste. I highly recommend.

Caleb F.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. Authentic dim sum and clearly served with love. Their won tons are delicately wrapped cranes and not sloppy globs. Their pork shu mai is the best I've ever had hands down. The servers are so kind and attentive. My #1 comfort spot if I'm having a down day. So glad I found this place!

Noelle B.

Yelp
Amazing food, amazing service. Best Chinese food in Albuquerque. I've eaten in restaurants and gotten take out and both times had an amazing meal
