The 23 Best Restaurants In Providence - Providence - The Infatuation

"Ming’s serves Asian-inspired chicken sandwiches and other fried, crunchy delights in portions that could feed a horse—or at least a hungry spouse. The appetizers, like pho-tine fries, loaded with a rich, beefy gravy, cheddar curds, tufts of cilantro, and thick medallions of jalapeño and crunchy rangoon eggrolls, are stellar, but it’s really all about the fried chicken sandwiches here. The classic pairs a crispy chicken thigh with spicy mayo and butter pickles, while other options have fried cheese and heaps of kimchi. The drinks are creative and delicious too—we like the pandan colada with toasted rice that’s nutty, slightly savory, and has a hint of lime leaf flavor to balance the rich coconut milk. Eat in the casual space (it’s counter service) or take your order to-go and chow down shamelessly (and messily) at home." - grace kelly

I've never had Ming's before and live within walking distance so I decided to give them a try. I ordered a Katau BBQ sandwich, and crab rangoons. The person I was with ordered Kickin' Chicken. We were both satisfied with the food, portions are filling, the service took some time but that was expected since they're busy, and the overall atmosphere was decent. We'll definitely be returning and trying different items on the menu.

Everything was amazing, even the chicken that came in the Ceasar salad, but I gave it 4 stars because, for me, it didn't pair well with the salad. I'm a sucker for gently seasoned grilled pieces of chicken breast in a Caesar salad, not fried chicken. It's definitely a personal preference. But it was a super cute place, extremely friendly staff, clean, and the food was fresh! My daughter ordered a fried chicken sandwich with French fries, 10/10, I believe the chicken was prepared the same way as it was for the Caesar salad.

My partner is Cambodian so when I saw the name of the restaurant and peeked the menu I had to go. I eat a lot of traditional Khmer food in my day to day life so I’d say my standards are high. I also am usually skeptical of modern takes on traditional foods I love. That being said, Ming’s is THE BEST version of modern Cambodian street food I’ve ever experienced. We had the dumplings, Dac Biet, Pho’tine, kick’n chicken and the Pom Yuzu Sparkler to drink. All the flavors were masterfully executed in a way that was reminiscent of their traditional style but with their own identity. I can’t recommend this spot enough, if you’re a fan of south East Asian cuisine you owe it to yourself to give this place a try. The staff was super friendly and Ming herself gave us her personal recommendations. A delightful experience and one that I’ll be coming back to for years to come.

Best fried chicken sandwich I’ve had in Rhode Island. The Korean Hot sandwich was crispy, savory, and spicy—just what I love. I will definitely be back to try more. Very happy to have this spot in town.

This was my first time coming here since it opened, and I was not disappointed! So much so that I felt Ming's was worthy of my first-ever Google review. I came with my significant other and 4 other friends, and the staff was very accommodating about moving their seating arrangements around to allow us all to sit together. Not a ton of room for sit-down dining, but it seems like most of their business is takeout-oriented anyways. I had the "Kickn Pop" chicken along with "Pho-tine" fries (picture attached), which tasted amazing! Everyone else I was with had various styles of chicken sandwiches, and they had nothing but positive things to say about those as well. Also, the portion sizes are huge, so be prepared for leftovers! Overall, we had a great experience and Ming's is certainly a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

I had a craving for a banh mi sandwich and decided to check out Ming’s. Ordered the special classic, which includes pate, char sui, and pork sausage. Sando is large and well-seasoned. Bread looked like it was going to be too dense, but was pleasantly surprised and found it to be a good balance between a classic Viet-style baguette and French baguette. I didnt order the fries, so was surprised to get them with my order. Fries weren’t particularly interesting and not crispy enough. Friendly service, but a tad longer wait than expected for a sandwich. Got take out and sat inside while I waited for my order. Unfortunately, the staff seemed a bit behind in clearing and cleaning table tops, which made the space feel and look a little less polished than it could be. Will go back to try some more options.

The crispy chicken sandwiches were huge and juicy! I ordered the CBK, and it had the perfect balance of spice and kimchi. I also upgraded my fries to the street fries, and they were spot on—flavorful and beautifully garnished. The beer selection is local, which I really appreciate. Service was exceptional!

I used to go out of my way for the food truck, and will now be going out of my way to come here. I had the Krabby Patty which was phenomenal. The food quality is as good as ever and they have a fun drink menu with several enticing options. I saw some other review mentioning problems with price, I'll just say that the prices are the same at Ming's as almost every other place you might go, but you won't find this level of chicken sandwich any place else in RI. Only constructive feedback I have is I could have used a wet nap with all of the sauce on my sandwich 😋
