Carryout-first and fiercely local, this Piccadilly Square spot is listed by Nebraska Tourism. Big portions, fair prices, and straight-ahead Chinese-American hits make it a dependable neighborhood fix for fried rice and General Tso’s.

Ming’s House is, without a doubt, one of my absolute favorite spots in town. It’s not flashy or over-the-top—but that’s part of the charm. The food speaks for itself: consistently delicious, comforting, and full of flavor. Honestly, if I go even a month without it, I feel like something’s missing from my life. It’s just that good. Also, the front desk lady is an amazing person—warm, welcoming, and she’s always been so good to us. Her kindness makes every visit feel even more special.

Google
I've been having Ming's for the past decade. The portions are massive, so reasonably priced, and tastes amazing. 🥡 My favorite are their fried rice dishes. Order some crab rangoon to go with that and it's the ultimate comfort meal. Also, their fried chicken wings are DELICIOUS.

Google
I love this place. Amazing food for a lower price than other Chinese places around. Not the mention the serving sizes are amazing, always have enough for left overs!

Joshua VanHousen-Prawl

Google
Food always tastes fantastic, always hot, and always large portions with good value. Only flaw I see are the styrofoam containers used for the fried food takeout burn and melt through into the food. I’m not a big fan of toxic chemicals leaking into my food and an alternative would be great!!!

Cathryn Scheerer

Google
Best in town. Fast, delicious, and huge portions but don't forget to add an appetizer you can't go wrong.

Bryan

Google
Easy online ordering. Easy pickup. Fresh general tso. The taste you’re searching for. Great portions! Thank you!

Tyanne Johnson

Google
The lunch specials are an amazing deal! We got about 3 meals worth for ordering 1 meal. Tasty food but an even better price.

Kenneth Geerdes

Google
I have been going here for over 15 years. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants great Chinese food.

Barbara P.

Yelp
I have tried many items on the menu. Everything I tried was delicious and authentic. My personal favorite is the Mongolian Beef, and my husband picks General Tso's Chicken. The egg rolls, crab Rangoon, and Jasmine fried rice complete for a great meal. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. The food is ready very quickly. Don't be fooled by the small place. They have a stream of people coming to carry out, including Door Dash and Grub Hub.

Yelp
The food is always really good and definitely satisfies my craving. Service is pretty average I would say but definitely not bad. The inside and the bathroom is a little dirty but it isn't a huge deal. Pretty good all around.

Yelp
One of the best place to get Chinese food in Lincoln. The portion that you get for their lunch is definitely worth the price. I got lo mein with fried rice and added a crab Rangoon on the side. But the lo mein WOW i thought it was flavorful and their crab Rangoon were those triangle shaped ones and I enjoyed that a lot too. The fried rice was mid, not that flavorful. It was a very small restaurant and most people that came in ordered to go!
google avatar

Jon J.

Yelp
Egg foo young was just your regular run of the mill item. Amazing customer care, watched him find a wallet and call the customer by searching through the online orders for their information to come and pick up his wallet. Rare to see someone do that in today's society.
google avatar

Lori M.

Yelp
This is the Best Chinese food I've ever had. The staff is fantastic! Always very helpful!

Virgie D.

Yelp
I ordered food to be delivered as a birthday treat and when I checked if they love the food ,they said it's disappointing, fried rice is just colored yellow no meat ,no taste.Portions are small and quality of food is not good.
google avatar

Jodie M.

Yelp
Good portion sizes. Delicious food. I love the mu shu veggies. They are so fast too. You can call on your way to the restaurant and it'll be ready for you by the time you arrive.

Yelp
The whole family loves the food from this place. We had orange chicken, sesame chicken, beef and broccoli, Szechuan chicken, shrimp chow mein, vegetables fried rice, crab Rangoon and of course egg rolls. The only complaint was that the Rangoon had soft edges, but o prefer that. The whole meal cost 75, so they through in two 2L sodas of our choosing. This wall all take out food by the way. It's not really a place to sit and eat. We did see one other customer and I asked him if the food was good here. He said he drives all the way across town to get it. I agree with his assessment. It's worth the extra 10 minutes.

Audrey F.

Yelp
Yikes, what happened to this place? I stopped by and picked up an order of crab rangoons. They were flat and tasted like rubber. Perhaps this place has changed ownership since I was last there. Thank goodness I only ordered four pieces; two went in the garbage.

Ian B.

Yelp
I ordered sesame chicken and it was more sour than my grandmas puss. I ended up trying my buddies beef and vegetables and the beef texture felt like I was munching on carpet.
google avatar

Sara G.

Yelp
Tried Ming's based on Reddit recommendations and it was tasty. So much food we had left overs for 3 days. If it were closer to my house I would order from here more often!
google avatar

Jon E.

Yelp
Amazing! Best Chinese in the city. My family and friends always want to visit here when they are in town.

Debra F.

Yelp
The food was in edible. The chicken in Sesame chicken was not breaded and fried and tough and slimy. The soup was tasteless and the noodles were like mush. Highly DISAPPOINTED. PS The receipt says all sales final no refunds No wonder it can be so TERRIBLE!!

Yelp
I'm declaring this the best Chinese place in Lincoln. Sure there are others with some authentic dishes, but for consistency, price, speed, authenticity, and pleasant staff- you cant beat Ming's. I'm a traditionalist with my Chinese food. I tend to go for the General Tso's chicken or tofu. Both are always good. Their egg rolls are consistent and good, but not my favorite I've ever had. The crab Rangoon are the best I've had and I think their shape lends to that! They are triangles and not the bunched up pastry filled messes you get at other places. Hence- they win in this category because of ratio of crust to filling. Plus you get a free two liter of you spend over $25!

Steven R.

Yelp
Ordered beef and vegetables. All I got was vegetables when I called they said next time in I would get half off. I paid 8.50 for rice and vegetables. Won't be going there ever again.

P G.

Yelp
We've been going to this restaurant for many years and find that their food is consistently very good. Many tasty items and the portions are plentiful. I would highly recommend Ming's House for it's wonderful Chinese food.
google avatar

Tyanne J.

Yelp
Great spot for lunch! Lunch specials are an amazing price, and we got enough leftovers to last about 3 meals a piece. So definitely a steal! A must have for lunch. Egg rolls are very flavorful as well.

Emma S.

Yelp
Forgot to add the sauce on my entree and the dumplings were soggy. Crab Rangoon were good but Mongolian Beef was not.
google avatar

Delila R.

Yelp
This use to be my spot. Crab Rangoon were big, different and tasted great! Now, they are still the same size of Rangoon but the crab mixture is like nothing there. So disappointed. Change the size of the wrap if you're going to have less stuffing.

Morgan N.

Yelp
Hands down the best of the best Chinese. I don't think we have ever been in there when it wasn't busy. It's so good, fast, and their lunch special is cheap! Been going here for Years!

Jay C.

Yelp
Been going to Ming's for years. Early on the food was consistently very very good. Last several years it has been very hit and miss as far as taste. Last couple orders food was tasteless and barely edible. Probably will not go back.

Yelp
I've gotten take out from this place a couple times this last month. The restaurant itself is right off Cotner and is pretty small. The family is very friendly and I've spoken to the daughter a couple times and she's been able to explain to me what I can have that's gluten free. I usually get the cashew chicken and a shrimp and broccoli with white sauce made with cornstarch. This sauce isn't as great as the soy sauce based ones but in most Chinese restaurants the soy sauce contains gluten. The vegetables and meat always taste fresh and are prepared well. At dinner you can also get a 2 liter soda for free when you dine in or get take out. My BF usually gets the generals chicken and crab rangoons and says everything's good. Price is very reasonable and I've always been happy with the quality of the food and the service. Once I ordered delivery from metro dining and the driver forgot to emphasize gf, so it arrived with the soy based sauce. When I called them they gladly remade my dishes at no cost! Very amiable of them. I definitely recommend giving it a try.
google avatar

Erica B.

Yelp
Yes, they are typically always busy. It is definitely worth the wait. Their sweet and sour chicken is different, but delicious. General Pso's chicken is amazing. Their sesame chicken is amazing. Their crab rangoons are to die for. They could have better customer service. They can come off a little aggressive, but other than that, they have great food.

Bree V.

Yelp
Their food was dry and to be honest inedible. When i got home it was hard and looked like it had been sitting out for days. the rice was hard as a rock. the only thing we could eat was the crab rangoon

Eric S.

Yelp
Went there today for lunch....very disappointed threw my food away! Must be new owners? i ordered hot and sour soup so thick and pasty no taste at all. i also ordered fried dumplings, they were burnt and so full of grease. so upset i wasted money on this place, waited inside for my food and let me tell you i should of just left after seeing the inside of this place....will Never be back!

Kari S.

Yelp
Everything is good. Everything is ready quickly. Changing meat or veggies is allowed, and portions are large. I look forward to Ming's every time I visit Lincoln.
google avatar

Hank K.

Yelp
Stopped in the other night and got cashew chicken......it was HORRIBLE! It didn't taste like chicken it tasted like burnt chicken skin. Super gross, I didn't even eat it. It'll be a while before I try here again
google avatar

Shannyn L.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Chinese places in Lincoln. Try the lo mein. Deeeelicious! I've also had great Kung po chicken and sezchuan shrimp. The fried rice is different than I'm used to. But still tasty. They have a great combo dinner that give you an appetizer. Crab Rangoon is good! They have delivery through DoorDash. Which saves me the drive across town.

Gwen M.

Yelp
I'm visiting my uncle who doesn't live far from Ming's and we wanted Asian today. He said he had eaten here before and thought it was good. Well I'm telling you: it was delicious!! He had Shrimp in Lobster Sauce, me: Shrimp in Garlic Sauce. For $5.99 (lunch menu) it included fried rice and either an egg roll, crab Rangoon or a spring roll. It you dine in, a drink also! For $5.99!!!! An excellent deal... The egg rolls were fresh, hot and crisp and whatever dish I order, I always want a good amount of vegetables. Ming's really can not improve on product or service. I highly recommend-you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Dean L.

Yelp
Always Amazing and such reasonable prices, especially for lunch. I always try to eat here at least for lunch when I'm in Lincoln for work. Sweet and sour chicken is my favorite here.
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
Everyone rants and raves over Ming's. I have to completely disagree, the meal today was terrible. Pepper steak with onions and peppers had no flavor, 5% steak. My wife's chicken fried rice was not her favorite either. We will continue our search for good Chinese in Lincoln.
google avatar

Dave R.

Yelp
I've always been searching for the best Chinese place in Lincoln, but I've finally found it less than a mile away. It's really hard to beat the value and price that Ming's House offers. I can reliably split my meal into a two portions, one for now and one for later. They have a long list of specials that only cost $4.59 plus a free appetizer and can of pop for lunch. The same dinner special is only $6.25. And the rest of their 'regular' entries are not much more with even larger portions. The service is great and always helpful. Ordering takeout has always been fast, never more than 10 minutes until it's ready. This place has been getting busier and gaining lots of loyal customers, myself included. It's not hard to see why!
google avatar

Yelp
Tucked in between the mediocrity of Americanized Midwest Chinese food is this little gem of a restaurant. Family owned with no frills and good quality hearty sized dishes. A phenomenal selection with hand made Crab Rangoon's the size of large crab claws and 'hot & spicy' dishes which are actually spicy! This restaurant has won my heart for takeout Chinese here in Lincoln. I drive 20 minutes across town once a week for my ritualistic feasting. Once in a while they go a little crazy with the onions but for the most part and for the price it's fantastic. The Hot & Sour Soup is dark and savory crammed with teaming meat and fortifying tofu. I tend to stick to the dinner meals and not the cheaper lunch specials. I would recommend the Schezwan Chicken, Hot & Spicy BBQ Pork and the Mongolian Pork. The Spring Rolls are the only ones I've ever enjoyed and are also hand made. The portions are massive for takeout and guarantee at least another meal if not two. I would at the least give the restaurant a try if your looking for some fast food and don't want the mall style cuisine that dominates Lincoln's Asian fare.

Yelp
If you like Chinese food and are on a budget this place is for you. Their food is always outstanding and for $20 my wife, kid and I are stuffed with leftovers to boot! The woman who works there (must never take a day off because she is always there when I go in) is always super nice and helpful. The only way this place could be any better is if they delivered because I am lazy, I admit it, but it is worth the drive from my house for the quality. I have never been told any more than 15 minutes for my order to be ready to be picked up. When I first started going there it seemed like nobody had discovered this hidden gem but now they are booming. Good luck to the owners as they definately deserve it. If you haven't tried this place it is definately worth taking a look at if you are craving some chinese.

Yelp
Ming's House is one of the best Chinese restaurants in my side of Lincoln, Nebraska, which is in the Northeast area of Lincoln. Their Crab Ragoons are big and thick, their steamed rice is good, and their Chicken entries are delicious. Ever need a place to order in some take-outs when it comes to Chinese food, Ming's House is a great place order and/or to dine in.
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
Good menu, prices are good, but it's an average chinese place. I wasn't impressed at all with the house special chicken, it was too much like orange chicken and I barely ate it. Their house special fried rice was good though. Their portions were very large. I think there are other good things on their menu. Part of what I ordered was good and part wasn't. So if I was in the area longer I would've gone back to try other things.

Yelp
Perhaps Lincoln's best Chinese food tucked away in a small strip mall in the Bethany neighborhood. Too good to be true? Think again. Ming's House is the place to go for fast, great tasting Chinese food at the right price. Most entrees run in the neighborhood of $7, about average. However, you receive both quality and quantity for your money here, not always the easiest thing to find. It's all made fresh and served piping hot. The General Tso's chicken is a personal favorite. If the food doesn't already make this a five-star venue, convenience does. While Ming's doesn't really have much of an inside dining area (half a dozen tables), the ability to phone in orders makes it great for people on the go. Expect a wait time of 10 to 15 minutes during non-peak hours and slightly longer during lunch and dinner rushes. Totally worth the wait. The Lincoln market is quite saturated with Chinese restaurants, which can make it difficult to pick and choose. Ming's is a premier small business in this community ran by a family that clearly knows what they are doing. If you're in the mood for Chinese food, look no further.

Spencer W.

Yelp
Ordered take out. Food was pretty good. Portions were very large. The General Tso is not too spicy, but the fried rice couldn't be more bland. I would come back or order delivery but would avoid the fried rice.
google avatar

Jared H.

Yelp
Small place, great food, huge potions. Pretty normal Chinese place though I wouldn't give four stars.
google avatar

Lorie G.

Yelp
It's a dive atmosphere but the food is amazing and so affordable. Come here for Chinese in Lincoln
google avatar

Amy F.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants! They are always so friendly and fast, and the food is awesome!

Dee C.

Yelp
So haven't been here in a while is there new Owners because the lo mein was totally off (not good) and that wasn't the worst of it because now they charge you more for using your credit card!!! Seriously???!!! People you have to stop shopping at these places that charge you for things that a business should be absorbing, don't let these places take avantage of you like that anymore!!!! If you give them an inch they will take a yard....watch and see they wil start charging you for everything like a fork, napkin etc! Also places that charge a delivery fee need to be stopped as well because the delivery guys don't get that money and they use their own cars, makes no sense!!! The customer deserves better than this just saying!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Most overrated Chinese restaurant in Lincoln. My friends all tell me how much they love it, and my expectations were high, so I expected something a "cut above" other Chinese fare in Lincoln. Thought it was decent, but more of the same. General Tso's was General Tso's and tasty with nice spice, but had texture problems. Tough and chewy and lacked that signature crunch. The rangoon, to me a make or break item in casual Asian fare, was soggy and poorly cooked. Would've enjoyed more sautéed vegetables with the chicken. Much prefer many other Chinese spots in town.
google avatar

Shelly L.

Yelp
Well priced, fast service. Had the sweet and sour chicken... It was delicious! The building could use some updates and there is only a few tables for dine in eating and no fountain soda only cans. But all in all it is a great place for take out and I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Bonnie B.

Yelp
Ordered fried rice for some tired traveling teens, and they had this ready very quickly for take out. Appreciated the fast and affordable food.

Joel L.

Yelp
Don't go to Ming's house expecting white table cloths, wine lists, and fancy dining. Do go, however, if you are in need of some very tasty Chinese food. The place is small, and only has a few tables. You order at the counter from a menu that is huge. All the usual American Chinese suspects are present, as are a few other more random choices. You can see into the kitchen from the counter, and as opposed to most other fast chinese places in town, this is a positive. They are clean, and the lady who runs the register is always happy and polite. For a little over $5, you get rice, your entree, a soda, and an appetizer. Dinner isn't that much more expensive. The food is very fast, and very good. You get a lot of food for lunch, and you get a ton of food for dinner. Pros: Fast. Friendly. Cheap. Tasty. Clean Cons: Small. Can get crowded. A little out of the way for me. Tip: Late lunch or early dinner means you'll be stuffed for the rest of the day.

Yelp
This has happened twice now. When they let the kids help when they are busy is bad!! The young girl does not ring the orders up right and when you tell them the workers don't understand what you are saying then walk away shaking their heads yes but don't fix the problem. The young boy hates cleaning off the tables and lets you know so. Have had cold food and not a variety of veggies. Wish I could find some where else to go in same area to go. Hope they read this and improve.
google avatar

Jacob G.

Yelp
The best voted Chinese in Lincoln, and for a good reason. Lunch is great; they have a $5 special that is huge portions and includes a drink. The usual pick up time is 10 minutes and is always super hot and fresh!
google avatar

Joey J.

Yelp
Best orange chicken I've ever had! I have never liked steamed white rice until I ate it here....it is amazing!! Taos chicken is great also. Huge servings.
