"We’re pretty into Mio Yatai’s ramen and you can get it delivered from here, here, or here. Want something else to go with it? We like their yakitori and kaarage too." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak

"Mio Yatai is a Japanese restaurant at one end of Broadway Market making solid but unspectacular ramen and small plates. Nothing here is likely to make you pause, stare into the middle distance, and rub your chin, but a bowl of BBQ pork tonkatsu ramen will fill you up and keep you happy. The kaarage and yakitori is perfectly decent as well, and the restaurant’s sharing tables encourage the sort of bit-of-this, bit-of-that, in-and-then-out atmosphere that’s decent if you’re looking for something alone, or with a few friends." - Jake Missing

I discovered this place by chance and decided to sit down for dinner. It’s a nice venue with pleasant decor. I remember this place used to be a bike shop. The food was reasonably priced. I had a starter and a ramen. The Bang Bang Cauliflower was unfortunately disappointing. Had it been deep fried it might have given the dish bit more texture. The menu was comprehensive and I dithered on what to order before settling for Tontori, a mixed pork and chicken ramen. It was really tasty and flavoursome. I’d happily have it again. However my partner was disappointed in the vegetarian aubergine ramen. I had a few spoonful and also found it bland. Would happily come back to try other dishes, but I’ve given it 3 star based on my experience tonight.

I visited a few days ago and it was such a great experience; the service is brilliant and the food is so fresh and flavourful. Honestly one of the best ramens i’ve had! I’d definitely recommend! Edit: Visited a second time recently and it was just as good, really fresh sushi and everything was so tasty! Had quite possibly the biggest prawn tempura i’ve ever had. Staff were so lovely as well, definitely going to make this my regular:)

Really bright, vibrant, appealing looking restaurant drew me in. There's a cool, young team of staff. Relaxed vibe. The food was delicious. I had the M22. I love aubergines and courgettes and this was a glorious large serving.

The decor of this place is very authentic. Step inside and you could be in a street restaurant in Tokyo. Shout out to the corner of the restaurant covered in Manga wallpaper. The service is excellent. And the only aspect that let it down was the food. It was tasty and I was content, but somehow my expectations were heightened and I was slightly let down. All things considered, would recommend a visit.

The service was great, but they got our food to a different table (that came after us). Staff was really apologetic, but at the end they made us to pay full price for it after we wait for it for 30 min. And included the service charge as well.. as well they asked the table that got our food to pay for it too which surprised me a lot. I work in hospitality too if that was the case I would never ask the people to pay for mistake from the restaurant or the service charge. I understand that the times are challenging for all businesses, but I think that was quite unfair.

The food here is divine with a nice selection of sushi and ramen. The bao uses a harder bread than usual but it is still tasty just more savoury. Strong recommend on the food and price. The atmosphere is the only reason I'm giving 4 stars. The noise level was high and we were at near a large bunch of kids being allowed to run wild. After they left another customer brought in a dog which was a lot less disruptive but I wouldn't go again without checking it was a quiet time. The seating arrangement doesn't do well with busy times.

I was very impressed with the food here. The miso aubergine was perfectly cooked and not overly salty as this dish can sometimes be. I loved the pine nuts, it gave the dish a great contrast of textures and nuty flavour to compliment the aubergine and miso. I also had the vegan version of the mushroom raman, also equally as delicious. It was a great eating temperature 🌡️ - the broth was moreish. My only slight complaint would be the service/presence of the waitress working that day, she really seemed like she had no desire to be there. Maybe she was having an off day, as we all do, so I hope she's OK.
