"Celebrating its 20th anniversary at this original Park Slope location with a second location on the Upper West Side, the always-packed Mediterranean eatery Miriam offers flatbread pizza at its bars. The flavors rotate but tend to have an Israeli bend, such as the za’atar pesto, asparagus, and ricotta pizza we recently tried and loved." - Shivani Vora

"Miriam is most popular at brunch, which they do every day, but it’s not one of those spots filled with people who are more interested in seeing how many mimosas they can drink in 90 minutes than what they’re actually eating. This Israeli spot makes some truly excellent brunch dishes (get the burekas), and the environment is homey but still lively. The two-tops and bar seating work well for dates, but the food here is shareable and the tables can be pushed together, so keep it in mind for group hangs as well. Just expect a wait for brunch on weekends. RESERVE A TABLE" - Matt Tervooren
"All the expect brunch-ers agree: Mirriam hands down is a must-try, or rather, must-try-every-weekend sort of place. Conveniently located right off the 5th ave, close to Barclay’s center, yet far enough from the constant traffic of Flatbush ave. The Mediterranean decor is in it’s full glory - lamps with intricate metal work and multicolor glass, beautifully arranged flowers at the entrance and a large family-style table, which looks particularly inviting on summer afternoons, when the windows are wide open and sun beautifully lits up the space. The menu has a lot of brunch options, and of course, Israeli ones too - Israeli breakfast, labneh cheese, fried dough, burekas. Great food made this restaurant a local favorite, so do expect lines, or come at odd times." - Anna Griniuk
"None of us will probably ever be as healthy as the Whole Foods-only-diet babies of Park Slope. But if you’re in the area and want to compete with them, get some Israeli mezze plates or some fish at Miriam. It’s walk-in only and gets way more crowded at brunch than it does at dinner. So come with a friend or a date, sit at one of the hightops, and split some roasted cauliflower and hummus." - hannah albertine, bryan kim, will hartman, neha talreja, willa moore, sonal shah
"Miriam is a restaurant located in Park Slope where people gather for outdoor dinners and discussions. Recently, a trio was seen expressing their election-related frustrations over dinner and drinks here." - Alexis Benveniste
