Misha’s Coffee is a charming café with a cozy, welcoming vibe. I liked that they grind their own coffee beans, which really adds to the freshness of the drinks. The pastries were decent, though nothing particularly memorable, and prices were a bit on the higher side. One of the highlights is the atmosphere; there’s plenty of space to sit, work on a laptop, or even enjoy a board game, which makes it a great spot to spend some time. The café itself was very clean, including the bathrooms, which I always appreciate. Overall, it’s a pleasant place to relax or get some work done, especially if you don’t mind paying a little extra for the experience.

12/31/2025- Gifts for and to me! My daughter took me here as part of my “ spa and treat me” day!!! I had a hot latte with a pumpkin 🎃 twist!!! Loved it! Yum!!! Added a tart pastry! Bon Appetite!! I will be back!

As with a lot of the coffee shops here, I prefer to visit on a weekday vs. a weekend. Our first visit was on a Sunday afternoon, and the line was out the door. The baristas were quick to greet and take the order for the next person in line, but we did end up waiting for longer because of our group size (4). Three of the drinks came out quickly, and the last one had to be changed twice because they were out of ingredients. Overall good coffee, but definitely a busy place on weekends. My second visit was on a weekday afternoon, and it was much calmer and quieter. No line and a few empty tables to work from. I got the tiramisu latte (the special) and really enjoyed it. This is such a cozy coffee shop and I'm sure I'll be back to work remotely from here again soon.

We ordered a hot apple cider, old fashioned doughnut, and a dirty chi latte. The hot apple cider and old fashioned doughnut paired perfectly!! Dirty chai was a little strong so my wife had to add some cream and sugar. They had a nice selection of pastries

Very slow service. Got a cappuccino and it is super watery with minimal coffee taste. The ratio of milk and coffee is more like Latte. Atmosphere is not bad. Plenty of seats. If you want a nice cup of coffee or cappuccino, would not recommend

Very relaxing environment and has a great variety of coffee to choose from. A cool thing about this coffee shop is that you can purchase coffee beans in-store and have them ground for takeaway. It's also a good place to study or work as the atmosphere is chill.

I’m not typically a flavored coffee fan, but I decided to go out on a limb and try the iced Lavendar latte and it was delicious! The service was quick and friendly, and the cafe has the perfect chill vibe. Definitely recommend this place 👍🏻

Found this interesting coffee spot on Yelp and was able to park on the street. Opens early. Overall, great little coffee shoppe with plenty of pastries and breakfast options. Seating located inside and out with plenty of chairs outside on the sidewalk. Service was a little confused on taking orders assuming I had already placed my order. The music in the front seating area was a bit loud and was not very conducive to have a conversation at the table Overall impression, I would return. The coffee was good. Stop by and give them a try. Misha's is a long-time Old Town Alexandria institution where everyone knows your name. There is nothing fancy about it, the coffee is okay, but what you will get is: + Friendly baristas + Free wifi + Lots of seating -- there was tons of coworking also going on in the back bar area! + Australian hand pies + nice collection of traditional sweet pies + Extra, extra large size options for when you really need to caffeinate This is not the type of spot you would go out of your way to have an aesthetic experience ... but simply meet a friend up at a tried-and-true spot if you live in the neighborhood.

I thought this spot would be amazing as I love artisan coffee houses and fresh beans.. I'm not quite sold on it though. The coffee is pretty decent and flavorful, black iced anyway. The other drink was an ice caramel latte and ehhh it wasn't so good.. not sure what they use for flavoring but yeah.. not so great. Service was good, server was friendly enough when I went to counter to order. Ambiance is pretty cool. I like coffee shops with music and just a good place to sit and work.. or just kinda relax and people watch.. and you can here. Might have to come back and give it a second try but first go through wasn't overly impressed with coffee.

BEST LATTES EVER!!! Strong, flavorful, stimulating, rich coffee beans/ espresso! My fave coffee house ever! I usually prefer organic, but the blends at Misha's are so great, I don't care!!! Good quality syrup (I choose the sugar free vanilla) and well-bodied flavor, smooth, silky rich taste!!! Not a watered down too sweet, thin, cheap blend! This is FAR FROM BEING STARBUCKY!!! And better than Atwater's ( a Maryland-based coffee shop that makes healthy organic espresso which are usually well-blended). Misha's is the best! The staff is consistently efficient, cordial, and professional!!! The baked goods run out quickly bc they are especially fresh, uniquely prepared (off-site), and delicious!

We got here and there was a long line hut staff takes our order while we were waiting so we didn't have to wait long for our coffee. Small little shop. I got a little blueberry pastry and smallest coffee and it was $16 so I didn't like the price too much but ahain, it's old town. I got the iced pitaschio latter and it was okay. It wasn't impressive but not bad. Menu are small so it's hard to read in my opinion!

Coffee Shop No. 415 Misha's Coffee House Alexandria, VA September 19, 2024 This was my third attempt at getting a cortado from Misha's. The first time the line was out the door, I was in a hurry, and was lacking in the patience department. The second time Misha's was having trouble with their espresso machine. On the third attempt I finally got lips on one of their cortados; and it was well worth the weight. I sat at a bar height long conference type table right in front of the roasting magic and enjoyed a beautifully crafted cortado. Misha's is my idea of a perfect coffee house with clear jars of coffee beans on shelves, large bags of beans, coffee roasting in the back, some folks working, others chatting with their group and the attractive aroma of coffee lingering. Unfortunately, my experience at Misha's was disappointing. I had heard rave reviews about this place being a prime spot for teleworking and that their coffee was amazing. However, when I visited on a weekday at 3 pm, the wifi wasn't working, so I had to use my personal hotspot. The iced latte was also underwhelming. The espresso tasted watered down and lacked richness, making the drink feel like an iced latte that had been sitting out melting for hours. On the positive side, the place wasn't crowded during my visit, and the ambiance was nice.

This coffee shop is located in old town. It doesn't have parking but you can find that on the street. There's plenty of seating to work remotely from here but not a lot of outlets. I like that they display the coffee beans from around the world and the coffee roaster machine in the back. I noticed many people had their dates here. The service was quick and fast. I got the lavender iced latte on the right and left is iced coffee. Their coffee is little watery and I think it needs more syrup to make it sweeter plus I didn't really taste the lavender.

Second location in old town Alexandria serving pastries and coffee. I had the sausage roll and cappuccino. They are reasonably priced when compared with Starbucks and it's real coffee for people who like coffee. Only two savory options (quiche and sausage roll). Plenty of sweet pastry options.

I remember stopping by at their other location and not having such a great experience. However, I was in the area and decided to give them another try. Their menu offers hot and iced coffee drinks, tea, cocoa, and chai; they also have a pastry case that had quiches, croissants, etc. I tried their Coco Loco, which was a more chocolate-y version of the mocha - still strong, and I liked that it was served super hot, as requested! Service was friendly and efficient. The coffee shop had plenty of seating in the front, and you can check out the roastery section in the back. When it comes to the coffee, Misha's is great! I usually just get a iced latte and they're typically pretty quick to get to you, even if there is a bit of a line. And although it's usually pretty packed inside with people perching at the open tables and seats, there is still pretty ample room inside or outside if you'd like to enjoy your beverage or treats there. Now when it comes to service, I've had a bit of a range when it comes to snarky baristas. Just the other day I dropped by to order a latte. The good news was that it was prepared quickly. The challenge was that it came out before I could run to the bathroom. I asked if it was okay if they could just keep it close while I run to the back (since it would be awkward to take it in and there was no top on it.) If the barista had said, "No, I'm sorry you need to take it now" or "No, I'm sorry I have to leave it out on this table" I would respectfully understood that's just how business operates and it would not have turned me off. But instead, the barista just intensely stares me in the eyes while placing the the latte further away from him in the pick up area. As a drink without a lid, all I was hoping was for an eye on it for safety reasons while I ran to the bathroom. And even if that was not an option, he could have responded with words instead of passive aggressive dismissal. The whole experience made me feel uneasy and made me realize I should just stick to ESP Tea and Coffee down the street where they're always warm and welcoming. It's not *just* about the coffee so with that, I'd rather start spending my money elsewhere.

If you're ever in old town Alexandria, you have to try Misha's coffee. The best barista is Kristina- and she makes any coffee made to order. I got a vanilla latte and a donut, and didn't even have to wait more than 3 minutes. They always play some type of music, but never crazy loud like Starbucks. They roast their own coffee, so the coffee taste is hot and fresh! Enjoy!

Misha's is super chill. Great place to have a coffee and a pastry and just put in your headphones and read or work. Our go-to coffee spot in Old Town. They have some great latte's and don't get me started on their donuts! I haven't had their cake yet but it looks delicious Their baristas are pleasant and attentive. Even if there is a longer line, they make sure they get all of your needs met before moving on, without you feeling rushed.

From lattes to ice coffees and espressos to drip, the coffee is excellent! There's a plethora of baked goods to purchase. I particularly enjoy the sausage rolls, which are filling and perfectly flaky. The atmosphere is clean and spacious. The staff members are nice and helpful. The service could be a little faster, but overall, it's a great spot for tasty coffee and breakfast.

Everything is good about this place. Ambiance is lit, always pleasant people come here and enjoy great coffee and snacks. Customer service is fantastic too. Highly recommended.

Wonderful coffee spot located right in the heart of bustling King St. There are many cafes to choose from, but I enjoy the drink selection here and the staff does an extraordinary job of keeping that line moving...and there most likely WILL be a line. There is plenty of seating inside given the space and a handful of chairs out on the sidewalk. If you're looking for a cozy, non-chain place for your morning caffeine hit, this is it!

If you are looking for coffee grounded to make at home, coffee beans to grind yourself, and to give as a gift, MISHA's have a wide variety of tasty coffees to choose from. My household's favorite is Route 66. It's bursting with flavor! It's a win every time!!! I welcome you to also try their pasties and such. Their selection of food will make your palate happy! Music so loud we had to leave. Even with noise-cancelling headphones. Asked to turn down, staff said no. Food was good, coffee was mediocre.

I picked up coffee and something sweet at Mishas on Sunday morning. While busy, the line moved quickly. They were well staffed with plenty of baristas, and that kept the coffee flowing into cups. The interior was abuzz with conversation as you'd expect from any good coffeehouse. The coffee was great, but the pastry was a little too sweet for me (coming from someone with a sweet tooth!). Maybe another one would have been more my speed. They had plenty of variety of pastries and drinks.

I have been coming to mishas for years, and they never disappoint me. The lattes are delicious, the pies always hit (the cherry is chefs kiss), and the selection of coffee is top-notch. The inside has changed a bit side the pandemic, but the coffee has stayed the same, and so has the service.

Misha's has always been a great spot. I really like their Iced Chai and their service has always been solid. A lot of competition but what they do, they do well.

Easily the best coffee shop in Alexandria. Went 3 days in a row to their two locations and enjoyed it thoroughly! There's usually a crowd so be prepared to wait in line BUT totally worth the wait!

Iced chai latte with oat milk. Didn't tast any black assam tea, mostly an oat milk forward odd spice concoction that tasted of licorice. Hot 3 shot oat milk latte with hazelnut. Burnt coffee... and they roast the coffee there... Perhaps they need a staff appreciation day? Lachrymosely drudging forward in their caffeine and carb pushing.

Coffee was good , but was surprised sbt the cleanliness of the counter , pastry case , and reach in . The pastry case was filled with crumbs and very little inventory . The area for lids and milk had spills and trash . Not the Misha's I remember

They're getting worse and worse as time goes by. They used to be the best but now service is so slow and terrible. I was the second in line and there were three baristas. After waiting up minutes I left. It such a shame they used to be so good. Now they're slow and half the time have bad attitudes. I'll have to go to ESP from now on. Too bad.

I would so much rather support a local coffee shop place. Great fresh coffee thanks to their incredible roaster (wish he would branch out), yummy pastries and staff is cordial despite some awful rude customers. Gets a 3 star as management and ownership are absolutely toxic.

I rolled in here this morning on my way to work for a large iced latte. I've been here half a dozen times already, and they have a great selection of different coffee blends as well. In addition to the latte, I also ordered two glazed donuts to take with me. On a couple of occasions, I actually stayed here for a few hours to do work on my laptop. The space is large enough with more than enough tables and chairs for everyone, and I like the large open space. The air conditioning also works well, especially on a hot and muggy day like today. However, I'm not a huge fan of elevated jazz music blaring throughout the dining room, when I'm trying to code! I also noticed some patrons practically having to scream at each other in order to have a conversation. The workers here are really cool, and I do enjoy their cafe beverages.

Lattes were good, cake tasted great! I ordered my latte with oat milk and got it with whole milk ‍ Cakes tasted like banana pudding! My only complaint is the price for a thin slice of cake is way too much.

Came here twice during our weekend trip to DC. My husband came here specifically to get their pour over coffees. According to him, they were good and much cheaper than the ones we get back home in LA. The cafe was busy both days we stopped by but the line went by quickly. Baristas were very friendly and helpful with the menu. Ambiance was very nice as well. There were plenty of tables inside and it seemed like a good place to catch up with friends or sit around to do some work. They have some seats outside as well. I tried the Nutella latte and it was just the right amount of chocolatey hazelnut flavor without being too sweet. Overall, would recommend trying this place if you're in need of a quick caffeine fix.

I love this coffee shop! The coffee is extremely delicious and the staff is always friendly. Cute shop in a great location for meeting up with a friend for a coffee or getting some work done. Usually pretty busy when I've been there.

It's not a bad coffee shop. There is plenty of seating, but not really a place to do work as there are few outlets in the corners and much elsewhere. Drinks are usually good, but really that all depends on your barista, and my mocha this time wasn't the best.

Misha's opened in Old Town Alexandria in 1991. They have a second location near the water at 6 Prince Street. Misha is the high school nickname of the owner, Michael Von Elmendorf. They sell coffees (hot and cold), teas (hot and cold), hot cocoa, apple cider, Arnold Palmer drink, muffins, bagels, cakes, pies, brownies, quiche, sausage roll, and other food. The variety changes. There are always three varieties of coffee readily available, Caravan (a medium roast), Route 66 (a French roast), and Van Winkle decaf (a French roast). A different special coffee is featured regularly. They have 25 types of coffee beans of single origin, blends, or roasts. They have changed over time. They are displayed in huge glass jars. Any of the coffee can be prepared for you to drink using the "pour over" method or "French press" method. If you want coffee beans, they are priced per pound. The price is on the jar label. They can grind it for you. This review lists the 23 coffees that my wife and I have tried according to bitterness and overall taste. The coffee bean jars have flavor descriptions on their labels. The single origin coffees have a label on back that has a lot of details about the coffee's origin. My food review follows the coffee review. LEAST bitter to most bitter. They are generally very good. We get the Smith Island cake because they change the flavors often. Variety is the spice of life, my friends! We have tried many flavors here, but I only took pictures of 2. They're so delicious, my wife starts eating it before I can take a picture. Here's the two that I got. 1) Cookies and cream It had moist chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and oreo cookie frosting, topped with crushed Oreo cookies. Incredibly soft with smooth creamy layers. You can taste a hint of butter in the cream. Overall, it was moderately sweet with a good Oreo flavor throughout. It had 9 layers! 2) Carrot cake It had 9 layers of moist carrot cake and vanilla buttercream frosting. They use real carrots and pineapple. The cake had a good cinnamon, carrot, nutmeg, and vanilla flavor. It was moderately sweet with a great buttercream. No cream cheese frosting. :( Oh, well. It's very good nonetheless! Smith Island cake is the official dessert of Maryland. It was designated in 2008 by the Maryland legislature. Smith Island is the last inhabited island in Maryland. Access is by boat only. A ferry ride takes 50 minutes. You can tour the island on foot, by golf cart, or bicycle. It's only 9.18 square miles in size. The service is always polite and helpful. They are relatively quick. The place is constantly busy like a McDonald's. They have all the reasonable coffee and tea fixings you could need. The dining areas and restrooms are clean. The front dining area is decorated with Harlequin artwork on the walls. It's a cool place to hang out. Love the variety of choices in drinks and food. We haven't had a problem after more than 10 visits. I highly recommend you give them a visit!

Coffee is fantastic here, but so are there non-coffee drinks. Their golden milk latte was very good and the staff is very nice. This place has a very warm and welcoming feel with relaxing music .

Delicious coffee! Probably the best latte I've ever had - thick, creamy foam, and great rich flavor. They also had lots of baked goods to chose from. Great atmosphere with lots of tables to sit and chat or chill and read a book.

Please TRAIN YOUR NEW STAFF on how to make coffee drinks. The staff that has been there for a long time has great baristas. The new ones need training and sometimes mistakenly overcharge. Your customers pay $7-8 for a medium drink and should be entitled to get at least the quality that the drink's name suggests, i.e. a cappuccino is NOT a latte. Otherwise, it is always a nice cozy place.

I love that they grind and roast in house. You can see all the bags of beans lined up and the machine at work! But also, they just have good coffee, a good location, and lots of indoor and (if it's warm enough) outdoor seating.

Misha's was just okay. Nothing more, nothing less. Was in the neighborhood and decided to stop in as I was waiting for a nearby food order to be ready. I'd heard good things and the reviews were fairly good, but a mixed bag for sure. The place has a cute storefront with lots of seats outside to take in Old Town while you enjoy some coffee. Inside, there are a ton of tables, but most were empty on that Sunday afternoon. The menu has plenty of options and has a wide variety of cold and hot drinks. The barista serving me was friendly, but extremely unhelpful when I asked questions about certain menu items. For example, when asked about the sweetness level of the Nutella Latté, they said, "well we use actual nutella, so like if you know what nutella tastes like...". I inquired more about the amount used, but they never specified and just said it's 'pretty sweet'. I ended up just ordering a plain, 16 oz latté. It barely tasted like coffee and had more of a burnt, milk taste than anything else. Very disappointing. If in the area, I may come back and give them another shot, but with so many other options around... it will be hard for me to take that chance.

Saw this when walking to the waterfront and decided to try. Ordered the yellow cake and an iced Nutella latte. Cake was great but the coffee tasted weird. Didn't taste any Nutella, just burnt coffee so wasn't a fan. Location is nice, very close to the waterfront and an easy walk. This is a dog friendly place. They allowed my dachshund to come inside and upstairs to their rooftop and also have dog treats to purchase.

Best coffee ever & have been missing it since my days living in Alexandria! Just discovered that it can be ordered online so excited to receive our orange bags!
