"This Uptown Vietnamese spot shares a name with a famous musical, though you won't see any framed playbills in their dining room. But you will find big colorful posters of Vietnam streets and some delicious wings blanketed in zippy, sweet and sour sauce. And while Miss Saigon also has some solid phở and bánh mì, you should keep the chicken theme going and order their mì khô. The delicious plate of egg noodles is topped with fried chicken thigh and drumstick, and served with a side of broth. Don’t be surprised if you dedicate a rendition of “I’d Give My Life For You” to it after." - John Ringor

Google
O.m.g !!!!!!! I often travel to Chicago, the food here is delicious and reasonably priced. The scenery is also beautiful. I have eaten at many Vietnamese restaurants and tried Bun Bo Hue, but this restaurant really did not disappoint me after many failures. Bbh is very delicious and rich in Vietnamese flavor, the clear broth is not too cashew colored, not too greasy, cooked in the southern style in SG I often eat it, that plate of vegetables!!!!! Fresh green, extremely eye-catching decoration (quite compliments the chef is very good), 1 bowl is only $16.50 but there's a lot of meat. I ate for about 30 minutes and still haven't finished the bowl. Compared to the location here, I think the price is cheap and the quality is good. The restaurant is full of handsome men (from the owner to the 2 waiters) 🤣🤣🤣 Any single woman who comes here to eat is fine, eat and watch. The service is fun, professional, and very polite. Tamarind ice is also delicious. Note: the shop has 3 jars of the soul of the bbh dish: lemongrass sate, shrimp paste, and delicious chili fish sauce. When you see the chili emerging, you know it's delicious and spicy. Ask the restaurant to take pictures of the dishes and post them on the front door of the restaurant so that everyone can admire the appeal of Vietnamese food. Btw, thank you Miss Saigon did not disappoint me

Google
Good spot for pho. I got the short rib pho, the broth was great. The short rib was pretty tough, ended up not eating it. I would come back to try another pho. The chicken wings were really good. Overall I recommend for a quick lunch

Google
I enjoyed the Pho.. it was absolutely delicious. I also loved their mango tea. This by far is the BEST pho I've tried and I probably won't patron anywhere else. The only down side was the waitress was checked out a little bit. I kept repeating myself to her and she'd act as if what I said didn't register. Again, the food made up for that but next time I'll probably order take out cause I didn't like that too much. The space was nice though.

Wowww. Just amazing all around! As I walked in the owner greeted me with the most beautiful bubbly personality ever! He had me at HELLO! The staff is so kind & VERY accommodating. The food is mouth watering no matter what I had!! I had a couple items from their special menu (cauliflower wings, pad woon sen, & beef short rib pho.). I also had Mama Suu Nems Imperial Rolls from the appetizer menu too. Everything I had was gluten free and that such a bonus because that's the type of diet I'm on...Delicious! I don't drink alcohol so they made me this amazing Lychee Martini Mocktail! Then they treated me to dessert on the house❤️❤️😊🎉. Harley & Dan treated me like a queen! Thank you guys. I'll be back!

Staff is very friendly and the food was good! It was busy the entire time we were there but was able to get a table right away!

Google
One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Chicago and the food was outstanding! Definitely coming back here someday.

During my visit to Chicago from out of state, I always make sure to stop by this restaurant for lunch. The flavors of the food make me feel like I'm eating in my hometown in Vietnam. The dishes are incredibly delicious, with a careful attention to detail in each preparation. The service is exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff who make the dining experience pleasant and relaxed. The restaurant’s atmosphere is inviting, clean, and “chill,” adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking an authentic Vietnamese dining experience in Chicago. It’s definitely worth a visit.

The decor of this restaurant brings me back to my birth place called Saigon. BBH is much better than Cafe Hoàng... come and try.

Yelp
Incredible pho restaurant! For much of my life I have had poor experiences with pho that led me to believe it wasn't a great food in general, but places like this have helped change my perception. All of the pho bowls are very hearty and filling. I chose the beef slices pho, but you probably won't go wrong with any of them. It is at a slightly higher price point than many pho restaurants, but this is worth it.

Mary M.

Yelp
I had the veggie pho which was good, but I probably should have ordered the shaved beef bc I was so jealous of my friend's bowl. Service was a little slow even though we were the only party. It did take ~30 minutes to flag our server for the check which was hard as we had other plans for the evening. The food was very good, the inside is very aesthetic and comfortable.

Hannah Hnh T.

Yelp
Best BBH I ever had BBH ngon Nhìn dĩa rau và bắp chuối Kìa 10 Điểm không có nhưng i will be back

Abby L.

Yelp
soooo good, quick and fairly priced. got the chicken bahn mi w shrimp chips and it was delicious and satisfying:)

Yelp
We came for lunch on a Sunday. Miss Saigon is located in the uptown Asiantown on Argyle. The restaurant looks modern from the outside, compared to all the old school asian businesses on the block. Inside it is modern looking with loads of wood....decor. We were seated immediately and giving three menus, two were the same and third that we didn't really understand. Just some photos in a collage. They had a few vegetarian items on the menu. I ordered the Veggie Noodle salad. My partner ordered the pork chops with rice. We had water to drink. After around 10 minutes our food arrived and it looked great. (see photos) My noodle salad was huge and very good. Loads of veggies, nuts, fried scallions, rice noodles, etc. Plus an egg roll chopped up on top. My partner had pork chops on rice. He loved his. Overall OK service, great interesting food and nice place.

Yusuf B.

Yelp
My favorite Vietnamese dish is a beef noodle salad with an egg roll on top. It's a great combination of light and hearty, cooked and fresh, with a great contrast in flavor. This spot's beef is AMAZING, and the portion was excellent for the price. The restaurant is clean, warm, and inviting. Definitely one of my new favorite restaurants.

Ariel B.

Yelp
Came in a rainy weekend day. The restaurant was bright and ambiance was good. Was greeted immediately and advised on how to navigate the menu. We ordered the wings, traditional Pho, and a beef rib plate. Everything came out quickly and piping hot. The wings were delicious with a spicy umami flavor. The Korean beef ribs were tender and paired well with the fish sauce. The Pho was "ok". Not bad but definitely not the best I've had in the city. It lacked depth of flavor but the traditional add ins helped with that.

Jocelynn K.

Yelp
Wanted to try a different pho restaurant than our usual in argyle. Can say we were very pleased with the food and service. The pho was light but flavorful and not super greasy. We also ordered the combination fried rice and it was delicious, garlicky and not too salty. We got it spicy and it had a warm heat that wasn't over the top. Also got the milk tea and a mango lychee fruit tea. Both were also very good. Our server was kind and food didn't take long to come out. Will def be eating here again.

Kevin N.

Yelp
Came here multiple times and I'd say it's a solid spot for Vietnamese food. Vibe is pretty relaxing and it's never busy when I go (not a bad thing, quicker service for me!) The Saigon pho - this one is unique and I'd say the broth is on the sweeter side and it's probably due to the short rib (which is really yummy). Solid 8/10 if I want pho on a sweeter side The bun salad - now that's really refreshing. Gotta add the beef short rib 8/10. I can taste the fish sauce

Rabab R.

Yelp
Omg so so good!!!! We got the banh mi, the beef ribs and rice, Thai coffee, the bai buns, and the pot rice. Everything was delicious. The banh mi with French fries was my favourite. We got there starving and the service was so quick which I really appreciated. Cannot wait to go back or order in!

Diane H.

Yelp
Very good! We both got the pho "saigon". Lots of meat! I was filled up. We also got fried eggrolls but it came with a diff sauce then fish sauce so that was weird. Didn't care for it too much. I also got one of the fruit teas (mix of lychee and peach) which was very refreshing. They don't rush you out which is nice but you gotta get their attention for service. My server was very nice. The soap dispenser in the bathroom wasn't working but there was so in it....hope that gets fixed. Nice menu, I saw some Korean ramen and pork buns... I'd come back! The soup was salty and flavorful.

Victoria B.

Yelp
2.5 stars Miss Saigon was just okay. I came to try their pho. But it did not hit the mark for me. Lovely ambience and clean. But the flavor and aroma was not there. I liked the spring rolls. Presentation was nice. Note they do not cook with msg.

Christopher E.

Yelp
Miss Saigon is one of my new favorite go to spots for delicious food and drinks. The service here is pretty awesome and takeout is just as good. The ambiance is very family oriented and I love their customer service. I've been stopping by every weekend to get their passion and pineapple smoothies especially when the weather is hot. I also love their pork chops, beef short ribs, and sweet & sour chicken wings. This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant and highly recommend you pay them a visit.

Wendy H.

Yelp
The food is great and I liked the sampler plates because I was just feeling rolls that day. They have fried shrimp rolls--my favorite. The milk tea was fine. But you really need to flag down someone if you need anything (for example: ordering, water, paying the bill) and it wasn't busy at all when I came. I'd probably come back to try the pho.

Len L.

Yelp
My new favorite Pho place in the Argyle area, I stopped in to give this place a try and glad I did. The menu has two sides of delights and honestly took a chance on all my choices. I ordered the Saigon sampler which gives me a taste of most of their popular appetizers. The main dishes was the Saigon pho which was very good since they added beef short ribs in the pho which made the broth very rich. I highly recommend this dish. I was totally blown away and give it two thumbs up. There are pockets of free parking on the side streets but plenty of metered if you have no patience.

Ric J.

Yelp
The food is perfect. Friendly service and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. The veggies are fresh and the dishes are delicious. We had the Saigon roll sampler, pho with beef slices and meatballs plus the beef short rib noodles. I plan to return often and bring friends.

Jess A.

Yelp
Very solid option for Vietnamese food in Argyle! Their Grilled Shrimp Noodle Salad is amazing and the portions are great! My group also tried the Saigon Sampler Appetizers and we all loved it! Everyone in my group enjoyed their food. Service was great. Really nothing to complain about. When my group was eating, there was a homeless man who kept coming into the shop multiple times and bothering the customers. It was a little alarming but the staff did a good job keeping him out and locking the front door when needed.

Yelp
Stopped by Miss Saigon for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The place was empty with a few carry out orders ready for pick up. Service was fantastic and we had a lot of fun talking to our waiter. Super nice guy! We ordered the Beef Short Rib Noodle Salad, Pho (Beef Slices) and also got BBQ Pork Banh Mi Sandwich and Pork Chops (Suon) with Rice to go. The Beef Short Rib Noodle Salad has mixed vegetables with white rice noodles and served with an eggroll. Flavor was on point. A good 'safe" choice to order if you're unsure about Vietnamese food. I got the pho with beef slices. The broth was very flavorful. Make sure you add all the items on the plate it comes with (bean sprouts, basil, etc..) in your soup! HIghly recommend trying their Pho if you've never had it before. BBQ Pork Banh Mi Sandwich is based with mayo and pate, comes with slow cooked Chinese BBQ pork(char siew) and topped with pickled carrot-daikon, cilantro, cucumber, and jalapenos (i picked off the jalapenos) with a side of French fries or shrimp chips. First bite of the sandwich you can taste a bit a sweetness to it. Then you get the taste of the rest of the ingredients. Very well balanced. They didn't skimp on the meat. The Pork Chops with Rice was just as delicious. A very simple dish that has been marinated well with good flavor. Another starter dish if you're unsure what to get there. I definitely would recommend coming here for lunch or dinner! The place was clean. Bathroom was clean. Friendly staff. Good Food! =)

Megan K.

Yelp
I was feeling a little lazy today and decided to pick a spot in the neighborhood to do a carry out order. I'd never tried their bahn mi, so I ordered the BBQ pork and was pleasantly surprised that it came with a side of either french fries or shrimp chips. My food was ready when I got there & pick up was easy. The bahn mi was delicious! They certainly don't have as many options as some of the other spots in the neighborhood, but if I'm ever in the mood for BBQ pork again, this will be my spot! The bread was soft but toasty, and it was packed with a ton of meat and pickled veggies. The shrimp chips were light, crispy and tasty. I will definitely be doing carry out here again soon!

Christina D.

Yelp
The food was great. I had the pho and my partner had the beef short ribs. I like that you can substitute fried rice on the rice plates. The service was pretty fast on a busy night with the argyle night market and the price is more than fair for their portions. I wouldn't recommend the boba though.

David B.

Yelp
Food was outstanding. Really enjoyed the roll sampler!! Was just here for a snack but would absolutely come here again. Drinks were excellent too.

Truc N.

Yelp
I haven't eaten at the restaurant just usually order for pick up. A very modern vibe with out door seating in Argyle. The pho here is pretty good. It has a nice beefy flavor. The BBQ pork baos are actually my favorite. Very filling with pork and the steamed baos nice and fluffy. I also really enjoy the classic banh mi which is nicely stuffed with meat and veggies. Whenever we come to pick up the food, the servers are usually friendly.

Dustin S.

Yelp
This is my favorite Pho spot. The bowls are full of flavor and the portion is huge. Their spring rolls are also a favorite with a delicious peanut sauce. Easy to get to, right off the argyle stop. Can't recommend it enough. The staff are friendly and remember me when I come in. I also really like the wood and brick finish out of the space.

Jacky D.

Yelp
Came in for dinner on a Monday. It was somewhat packed, but one table for four was open for us. It took a while to get service, because they only had one waiter for the whole restaurant:( so it was understandable why it was slow. I remember hearing about this place before from a friend so wanted to give it a chance. Bun Bo hue: honestly was a disappointed with it. For my standard of BBH, it was just bland. I was expecting a more spicy and seafood like taste, but it was not added or felt watered down. The quantity of noodle and meat were lacking as well. If I wanted BBH I would just go to cafe Hoang down the block. 4.2/10 Some of the other dishes looked good so maybe I'll give em another chance next time!

Faith L.

Yelp
I came by to grab a quick banh mi lunch while in uptown and was pleasantly surprised. It was delicious and made of authentic pork roll meat, pâté, etc. I liked that the lunch option had fries. This and a boba tea cost me just $15 so that was a nice plus!

Tisha R.

Yelp
Terrible service. Took 45 minutes to get a sandwich. Food only okay. There are so many great Vietnamese restaurants close by, there is no reason to choose this one.

Andy O.

Yelp
Food: delicious and consistent Menu: small but very well balanced with something for everyone Service: fast, friendly, helpful Place: clean and modern compared to other similar places in the neighborhood Overall: highly recommended, fast lunch or casual date

Rumi I.

Yelp
Nostalgia: 5 stars Ambiance:5 stars Food: just right. The Bahn Mi is great. I personally love their shrimp fried rice. Its just good basic shrimp fried rice. Shrimp crackers are perfect. What can i say.. Its a place for food and conversations... Just pure joy to Dine in.

Latiful A.

Yelp
Came by for dinner. Service was great, ambiance cozy (causal) and food was satisfying. This part is tough, because I've tried 3 others in the area and many more in Chicago. So here I go, for a new comer Pho here won't disappoint by any stretch. For a person having cravings this can be on your top 5 if you are a Chicago resident. For some who loves Pho, this is between good & great given that the scale is Okay-Good-Great-EXCELLENT. Hope this helps. Sorry for the lack of pictures, could help it I was hungry.

Madeleine A.

Yelp
The servers were very helpful & accommodating. I appreciated the atmosphere with street photos & exposed brick. Came with a group of 6 and sat comfortably since the restaurant wasn't packed. The Bon Bu Hue was not spicy for my tolerance since I added the jalapenos and more siracha. I would say out of the spicy soups in Argyle I liked the taste of the broth the most. The meat & noodles in it were soft and everything was comforting for a windy, rainy day.

Jeff V.

Yelp
Phenomenal! Such a great find during the Lunar New Year parade in Uptown. Highly recommend the bao tacos and the short ribs. The staff was very helpful in recommending items. The atmosphere is cozy, especially on a winter day.

Ian M.

Yelp
Ordered a bunch of bao buns and the Saigon sampler from this place recently. The buns were so soft and the meat was so tender. We had the chicken and pork. The sampler was also great and gave us a little taste of everything. We can't wait to go back and try everything else on the menu!

Leanne H.

Yelp
Miss Saigon is super consistent and tasty! We always get the veggie noodle salad and the veggie spring rolls. The tofu in those is so flavorful and different! The sauce for their vegetarian dishes is also really flavorful. Their combo pho and short ribs are also incredible, and they make such sweet and yummy smoothies.

Elgin B.

Yelp
I have been meaning to try miss Saigon for a while. As a resident of Argyle there are so many different Vietnamese specialty cuisine spaces but it takes a while for me to get around to all of them. I will say that I was pleasantly surprised with Miss Saigon. The Exterior has always been a stand out for me when passing this location and seeing the interior up close and personal it was even better. It's very modern with kind of a hip-hop Asian fusion with still enough of the traditional. The wait staff was very attentive and didn't overstay their welcome and tried best to accommodate. I ordered short ribs beef Pho with a side of egg rolls and strawberry mango smoothie which was delicious and cooked to perfection. You can tell the chief puts pride into their presentation. My only note about the short ribs was I could tell they used the same sauce for Korean Beef which made the rib a bit sweet that can be a plus or negative depending on your taste. My associates ordered the chicken and noodles and I believe the eggroll salad. My friend who order the chicken and noodles loved it and said that it was the best chicken and noodles he had ever had simply because of how cooked and fried to perfection the chicken was. He said and I quote, "I would buy the chicken skin if I could". The one who ordered the egg rolls salad didn't know what to expect. Being that this was her first Time being at a Vietnamese restaurant she was excited and wanted pho and thought she ordered something like pho and got eggrolls salad thus not really enjoy the experience as much however the wait staff brought her some chicken broth she added it to her eggrolls salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall I really enjoyed the experience and the food. I would recommend this spot for either a lunchtime snack or early dinner with friends. Miss Saigon is also cute enough for a first date to get to know someone. The price is also not ridiculously expensive. 4 out of 5

Bepos1luv O.

Yelp
The food is good either to enjoy eating there or carryout. Decent service. The owner/chef suggestion was spot on Their Pho is very tasty. BYOB

Eric C.

Yelp
Not the best Vietnamese, but pretty ok. Dishes were slightly either overly sauced or bland. Great service, but prob won't be back

Justine C.

Yelp
Love this place! Came on a Wednesday for a quick dinner with my boyfriend and I was surprised at how big the place is in the inside! We got to pick a spot where to sit and got our menus and waters right away. There were so many options to choose from! Thankfully, their appetizer offers samplers and we got the Saigon Sampler (Asian wings, crab rangoons, butterfly shrimps, and egg rolls). We also ordered 3 bao tacos with bbq pork, bbq pork banh mi, and bun bo hue. We also shared a Vietnamese iced coffee which was drip coffee and condense milk over ice and was super strong. The food came out really fast and tasted AMAZING! We loved all the flavors. It became extremely busy towards the end of our meal which became a little tricky to hunt a server down for the check. We ended up paying ~$50 plus tip. Will definitely come back here especially because it is BYOB!

Patrick J.

Yelp
I really like Vietnamese food. This place is a good place for it. The tables are rustic and the atmosphere is relaxed. Today the waiters were Thai and Dante'. Both of them were efficient and very friendly. They knew their stuff. I had vegetarian Spring rolls . In stead of the peanut sauce ( I could have had it) I had their own version of soy sauce. It was good tight rolls. I had the BBQ pork Bahn Mi sandwich. They BBQ the pork themselves and it was very good. They had a dessert called honey cake. It is Russian style. There are very thin layers and honey. It is not too sweet but very tasty. It is worth regular visits. They have a good sized menu and they had all kinds of folks there. It was not overly expensive and popular. There were people of at least 3 races there and had several to go orders also.

Nolan F.

Yelp
My group came in here because we didn't want to wait to get into Tank Noodle and honestly, not a bad backup. Tank noodle has more authentic dishes and variety of protein in their pho. I was disappointed to see items like fries and Korean ramen soup on the menu of a restaurant called Miss Saigon (which we got anyways because my friend's son likes those foods). Shrug okay fries were good lol Miss Saigon's pho broth was good, noodles a tad firm (this can be left to personal preference and is too minor to count towards review) , and meats okay. Sweet n sour chicken wings were good size, tender but not juicy, sauce okay.

Andrea M.

Yelp
Was walking by Argyle and saw this! Just as I was craving for some soup, my boyfriend and I stopped by Miss Saigon. The restaurant has a nice wall design of what looks like a food market in Saigon. Our server was very nice, our food came out quickly and tasted delicious-- especially the broth of the south style noodle. Total bill came out at a reasonable price for the amount of food we ordered, so I Would definitely come back here when I crave for Viet food.

John G.

Yelp
Great service, very friendly. They also have great food. Pho is my favorite and it's been hard to try something else since I love the Pho.

Kevin C.

Yelp
I was walking around the area looking into the yelp app while also browsing the neighborhood and found this spot. I saw the food the customers were having through the window and it looked very presentable and tasty.. I decided it to give it a try and was not disappointed. I had the roll sampler and it was good! I also tried the dried noodles with a chicken thigh and it came with a very nice chicken broth/soup on the side. There's so many Vietnamese restaurants in the area and it looked like this was the one most frequented by people. Not to mention, when I was walking out the door, there was a man standing outside and it looked like he was hesitating to come in as it was his first time trying out the restaurant. I left as he came in. Good Vietnamese food!

Ellen C.

Yelp
Went on a beautiful July Saturday during Covid. They had outdoor seating that was mostly in the shade but we opted to eat inside. There weren't many people so everyone was social distanced and it was actually a really nice time. Service was pretty quick and the food was great. The sodas do cost a $1 for refills. We got the bbq pork Banh Mi which came with fries ($7) and the lemongrass chicken noodles salad ($9). And everything was really delicious, fresh, flavorful, really good! Good prices, clean interior. The banh mi french Brad was the perfect texture, soft, delicate, crisp crust but chewy interior. Great balance of pate, meat and pickles and fresh veggies. The fries were thick, nicely fried - you could choose between those or shrimp chips. The chicken noodle salad was really good. You could taste every ingredient and everything was amazingly fresh, one of the best I've tasted in a long time, a lot coming from someone whoo OK grew up in SoCal! Definitely a place to come back to the explore their other items on the menu. The fruit smoothies ($4.50) weren't fresh though, it was made of powder and didn't use fresh fruit in the making. Tasted artificial.

tammy h.

Yelp
Viet Coffee was fragrant and delicious! One of the best tasting viet coffees I've had!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Got delivery from door dash and the food was all great. Only thing though is I received the broth less chicken dish without any chicken. Just a bowl of noodles. That was super disappointing. Without chicken it was just noodles and the usual lettuce and bean sprouts + broth. Smh Veggie pho was flavorful and noodles were perfectly tender. Southern style soup was really yummy and had tons of toppings with it. Garlicky and very savory broth. Would recommend. For the portion and price--I'd order again but am weary because my order obviously hasn't been checked so maybe I'll save this spot for dine in when we can or pick up so I can check my order.

K S.

Yelp
Also tried the crispy chicken with rice meal which is just as delicious as the brothless noodle one! The chicken comes really crispy every time even with takeout

Linda N.

Yelp
Ordered takeout after a run in Uptown. I got the brothless noodles with crispy chicken (mì khô gà). I believe they prepare it when you order because they said it would take 15-20 minutes to make. I'd take that over some sad, dry food sitting under a heat lamp all day. The soup broth is good but definitely better when you add the lime. It also came with egg noodles, crispy drumstick and thigh, and some veggies. Very good and I have a good experience whenever I order here.

Jazmin O.

Yelp
I absolutely enjoyed my experience at MissSaigon! Everyone was so friendly and super quick. I ordered the vermicelli salad with egg rolls and it was so dang good. It's also BYOB! I will definitely be back for more.

Sofia K.

Yelp
What a gem! Have not had the pleasure of eating at this place but ordered twice from door dash and was so impressed. PHO was unbelievable. Rich and brother - even the vegetarian PHO was so tasty. Banh mi was so tasty. But the chicken a little dry and the bun a little hard. Otherwise I was so pleased with my food. This place is worth checking out and seeing for yourself.
