I’ve gone in person once and ordered it three times. I don’t remember having any complaints regarding the food when I dined in. The first time I ordered Bun Dau Hu Rau Cai for delivery, the broth was great—the perfect amount of spicy and flavorful, but still clean. I noticed, however, that the vegetables tasted soapy—mainly the broccoli and cauliflower. I ordered again two days later because, despite that soapy taste, the broth brought me back. The second time, the broth was completely different. It still tasted clean, but it was clear the only spicy element came from the jalapeños, and it lacked flavor—and again, the vegetables tasted soapy. About five days later (9/6/2025), I ordered it again at the same time of day as the first order—hoping the last experience was a fluke—and once again, the broth was different. This time the broth was more flavorful than the second, but it was a little fishy and just not good. And again, the vegetables tasted soapy. This time, there were sliced, yellow peppers that hadn’t been included in the prior two orders, and those did not taste soapy, but the broccoli, carrots, and I believe the bok choy did. Unfortunately, because the broth is inconsistent but the soapy taste is consistent, I’m not going to keep risking it until something changes. I’m all for washing vegetables, but please use a proper soap made for cleaning produce and rinse the vegetables thoroughly afterward.
