The Best Restaurants in Palm Springs, According to Eater Editors | Eater LA

"Always make a reservation before dining at Mister Parker’s. This is a pure old-school classic restaurant where every element is well-executed. The service is immaculate, from the maître d providing guidance (and a required jacket for men), the longtime sommelier telling stories while popping a cork, and chef Pedro Baroso’s menu. Get the three-course menu, or take a server’s recommendation of the grilled octopus over fava beans and pork chorizo. The beef tartare is prepared tableside, and the prime filet is topped with bone marrow butter. Speaking of butter, the sourdough bread comes with a beef tallow and butter candle, allowing diners to dip into a hot bite. Every element is special, so wear something nice and have a memorable night." - Mona Holmes

"Whether you’re staying at The Parker or just checking out the meticulously manicured grounds, retreat to the dimly lit and aptly named, Mister Parker’s for a good meal and even better people watching. Beyond the velvet curtained entrance, the vibe is unapologetically sexy (mirrored ceiling, an all-white baby grand piano, and eyebrow-raising artwork) and the menu is decadent to say the least. Pistachio-crusted scallops, Steak au Poivre, and the shoestring parmesan fries take top billing. It’s also important to note that every meal is kicked off by a mini loaf of piping-hot sourdough bread. Needless to say reservations are a must."

New York Times’ Critic Smiles Wide at the Queso-Fueled Food of Amacita - Eater LA

"Mister Parker’s restaurant inside the Parker Palm Springs has a whole new look and perspective. The sit-down dinner spot now does a three-course $75 tasting menu experience loaded with more luxury ingredients and an artistic flair, in what should be one of the more interesting new dining experiences for Palm Springs." - Farley Elliott

The beautiful restaurant in the hotel. Very romantic environment, attentive service and delicious food, everything was great. The mushroom risotto was the best ever. They have an awesome wine list and people who work there are very knowledgeable about wine, cocktails and so on. We had a wonderful time and will revisit again even if we don't stay at the hotel.

I don’t even know where to begin here. I wasn’t expecting such detailed and intimate ambience. It really felt like I entered another world. Our waiter was amazing and the food perfect. Shout out to Bruce the sommelier for the 2 wines he brought us. He definitely spoiled us. Will very much be coming here again the next time I visit Palm Springs.

Google
Edited - This is a place we come to whenever we are in Palm Springs. They are now putting cayenne in the lobster bisque and for me, it overpowers the delicate lobster stock that is the base. I was looking forward to the Spice Cake with Pumpkin Mousse and Salted Caramel Popcorn that was reviewed by Kamala Kirk in the December 2024 issue of The Guide, page 26. Our head waiter asked the chef about it when I inquired, and neither were familiar with the dessert 🤷🏻‍♀️. Victor (new manager) came by a couple times to check on us and provided some extra care and accommodation 🥃 during the dessert course. The bone marrow and butter candle served with the warm sourdough loaf was amazing as always. Great service, music, and atmosphere 🌟

We absolutely love Mister Parker's. The ambiance is elegant and intimate, perfect for date night or celebrating a special occasion. The service was top-notch from start to finish, and the food was simply outstanding. Every detail made for a memorable evening. We can't wait to go back!

We had a wonderful date night at mister parker. Our server Tristan was fantastic. Every aspect of our dining was excellent. From the ambiance to the cocktails and the food we couldn’t be happier with giving this place a try. We ordered the hamachi crudo and scallops as an appetizer. The scallops were so very good! For our main course we had filet mignon and duck and both were cooked to perfection. The bone marrow butter candle was just one of the many little details that contributed to a superb dining experience. Be prepared to spend a lot when dining here. For the 2 of us our bill was over $300 before tip but the quality or food and service makes it worth every penny. We will be coming back for another date night.

My wife and I go to Mr. Parker 2-3x per year when we stay at The Parker and everything is on point here. Food - A+. Drink - A+. But the addition of Bruce has really taken this restaurant to a new level. Ask Bruce for his recommendation off of “Bruce’s List” for wine and you wont be disappointed. Bruce even remembered what wine we had from our last stay and we had the same one because it was so good. My wife and I are not sure how he remembered from months ago, but he did, and that level of service is rare. Great job Mr. Parker team.

This place is so cool and service was top of my list. The candle butter was so cool as well! My Lamb out of 10 is a 7 because it lacked some flavor but rest was very good. I recommend this restaurant!

Spent a delightful evening at Mister Parker’s, the ambiance set the perfect tone for a relaxed, indulgent dinner. The staff were gracious and attentive, and every course was flawlessly executed. A truly memorable dining experience.

Yelp
My friends and I had an unbelievable dinner here after dining at Norma's in the morning. We were able to snag at 7:30 pm reservation on a Sunday evening for Mister Parker's. Upon arrival, we noticed that the space was dimly lit, creating a sexy, moody vibe. As we were seated, we were given menus and little handheld flashlights to view the menu with. I thought that was such a unique and fun personal touch. The resident sommelier came over and introduced himself and chatted with us for a bit. We all decided to start with a glass of wine. When our waitress brought the wine over, she also brought a small candle to our table and lit it. She came back a few moments later with warm sourdough bread. She said the candle was made out of beef fat butter and we could literally pull the bread apart and dip it into the butter candle. (I'm super impressed at this point lol). For my appetizer, I ordered the Lobster Bisque. The way it was presented was so fun. A server brought out a bowl with lobster pieces and dollops of creme fraiche and then he poured the bisque into the bowl. To top it over, one of the lobster pieces had a little bump of caviar. So good! For my entree, I ordered the 7 oz Prime Filet Mignon, which comes with chanterelles, bone marrow butter, and duxelles. The steak was cooked to perfection and everything was seasoned well. We opted out of dessert as we were very full, but the waitress brought us each a homemade blueberry muffin (individually wrapped) that the chef made earlier in the day. It was the perfect treat to eat for breakfast the next morning. Overall, this was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. I will come back here again and again whenever I visit Palm Springs. Even if you're not staying at the Parker, do yourself a favor and dine here. Ps the music was on point too!

Yelp
Service and food absolutely exceptional. Sadly my dad passed a few days before booked this months ago to spoil my husband. I felt special in the beautifully designed space, It was an amazing evening!

Yelp
Jonathan Adler did an amazing job design decorating the interior of this hotel. I love the artwork, the 70s era vibe, patterns/textiles/vibrant colors. The ambience was very classy and everyone was so polite and caring. The drinks and Mr.Parker steakhouse experience was the cherry on top for my 40th birthday!

Yelp
Totally incredible experience and the ambiance is something I wish every restaurant had! We came in during our last vacation to Palm Springs. I had never been to the Parker before but really wish we would have stayed there because the complex is amazing and really cool. The bread with candle butter is something we routinely still talk about, as it was something that I'd never had before. Also loved the scallops and the salad too. The baked Alaska was a total standout and something I'd really recommend if you're dining here. The presentation is super cool too. All in all really recommend this place!

Jackson S.

Yelp
Abysmal service. Spilled water on me. Served my entree late, after clearing everyone else's entrees plates from the food that they had finished. My family won't be staying here anymore.

Yelp
Amazing dining experience! EXPERIENCE, a true dining experience! This was impromptu visit as we did not have plans and had an anniversary to celebrate! I had just recently heard enticing details about an item on the menu and knew that I wanted to/HAD TO try it! Ordered the Lobster Pappardelle... we were blown away, this dish alone would have been enough for me to say 15/10 but there was so much more! From arrival to end of the evening, we had nothing but excellent service!! From start to finish- nothing but perfection and felt like true VIPs. Personality, professionalism, courtesy, what a great welcome! Delia was our server, another star!! How can she keep such a genuine and bright smile?! She was knowledgeable, fully versed on EVERYTHING on the menu! immediately answered my questions and made suggestions. Her colleague Brandon, who also took care of us was also a delight! Attentive service, made us feel like VIPs! Ok, I can go on and on, I have so much to say but will wrap up with these notes : Oysters- must try! The homemade hot sauce, amazing!!!!! Octopus -- another hit! Unique in its entirety, I remember : poached and grilled = perfection! Lobster Pappardelle - this is specifically what I was there for... TO.DIE.FOR... the sauce, the lobster, topped off w caviar!! What a treat!! A MUST try ASAP!! Truffle Potato - you have no idea! A++++++ Brussel Sprouts - what genius came up with these?! Wow!! And then the sauce, oh my! I REALLY, REALLY wanted dessert but there was just no way, the portions were generous and just as we always do, ordered more than we could handle- no regrets! I must share with the world, the good news! mister parker's worth the wait, we got lucky to get in same-day!! Can't wait to be back! Dimmed, private, romantic + perfect playlist and very unique design overal!! a great way to celebrate ... the BEST place to celebrate!

Yelp
Mister Parker's offers a memorable, delicious fine dining experience. I grabbed a last minute reservation in April 2023 and the same on a busy Friday night the first weekend of December 2023. They were not planning on us, nor did we have demanding expectations. Each meal - from the impeccable service to the wine recommendations to the food was perfection in every respect. More than that the service is personalized and truly enjoyable. The waiters are knowledgable and very engaging in a way that results in consistent, very professional and formal service, but also makes it fun. If staying at the Parker, dinner there makes for a complete evening - from cocktails to a nightcap and everything in between. It's romantic, perfect for a girls night out or a classic choice for a group dinner with otherwise strangers on a business trip or a small group of couples. Everything you have to drink or eat will be divine. If not, they will correct it or replace it with something that is perfect for you. Mister Parker's is very special. I hope to visit again soon and wish their team the best in the meantime.

Yelp
First things first, shout out to our server Paul. He was a delight. This place was very aesthetically pleasing. Dimly lit, well decorated, AMAZING playlist. You do need a button up shirt or blazer to get in, if you don't have one they have loaners. My date had to wear a loaner. The jacket was gold and black and SO extra. On to the food... presentation wise everything was beautiful. There were a lot of very creative and fun touches. Everything was cooked perfectly but overall I would say most of the things we ordered lacked salt. the menu was pretty small. Everything on it sounded delicious. I just feel at that price point everything should be seasoned perfectly. But overall really fun experience.

Yelp
This restaurant needs to change their reservation system!!!! We made a reservation yesterday September 10 for September 29th and paid $50.00 for a corner booth in the main dining room. Our clients decided they wanted to dine at a different restaurant so I canceled the reservation September 11th. I was informed that by canceling this reservation I would not receive a refund of the $50.00!!!!! That is absolutely ridiculous and we will never dine at this restaurant and will never recommend this restaurant to clients.

Yelp
Love this place!!! I have never had a bad meal here. The decor and art is beautiful, the lighting is moody and romantic. It's the perfect place for date or special occasion. Service is always on point, and very attentive.

Yelp
I recently dined at Mr. Parker's in Palm Springs and have mixed feelings about my experience. Firstly, their policy regarding sneakers and dinner jackets for guys is quite frustrating as many patrons, were wearing sneakers, yet we were told we couldn't. This inconsistency was disappointing. The food was decent, but it didn't quite live up to the hype. While it was enjoyable, it certainly wasn't the best I've ever had. Additionally, the wait time for our main dish was longer than expected, which was a bit inconvenient. On a positive note, our waiter was attentive and provided good service throughout the meal. Overall, Mr. Parker's has potential, but there are definitely areas that need improvement

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR Yelp reviews on Mister Parkers seem wildly inconsistent and terribly out dated so I frankly did not know WHAT to expect... Last nite our party of 4 had a truly magnificent experience. The beautiful ambiance is that of a dark, dimly lit tuck & roll steakhouse; the highly attentive service is exceptional from start to finish; the craft cocktails were perfect; and each phase of the dining experience was carefully and dramatically entertaining. I started with a Whiskey Sour, moved Burrata with Heirloom tomatoes, and had the scallops as my main course. All were the absolute best I have ever had. The evening was filled with amazing and pleasant surprises which, along with our service, left indelible memories through their creative and unique touches. I highly recommend Mr. Parker's for an exceptional culinary adventure and an unforgettable experience!!!

Yelp
We had a nice time at Mr. Parker's....our waiter Tristan was outstanding. The food was all right, the atmosphere dark and intimate which I liked very much however I don't know that there is sufficient "oomph" here to justify the prices. I would have expected next level food quality. A dirty martini at $25 comes with expectations of greatness. Although there were some misses here, overall we enjoyed the evening, good friends and intimate conversation and wonderful wait staff experience.

Yelp
The concluding dinner of my three-night business trip to Parker Palm Springs was at Mister Parker's, which was (and still is) closed to the public until later this year. They opened the restaurant to us for our private event. The decor is interesting. As I said in my review of the resort itself, everything has a mid-century bent with a bordering-on-tacky eccentricity. The art in Mister Parker's is kind of cool, with pop art, pinups, and more covering nearly every inch of open wall space. The mirrored ceilings reflect the dark furniture, carpeting, and dim lighting to create a warm ambiance. This was definitely a cocktail dress and jacket and tie sort of place. We weren't told what we would be eating before dinner, so the entire meal was a surprise (this also means I can't tell you exactly what I had and will have to describe it in detail). The appetizer was a savory tart with a base of some sort of cheese (possibly goat), topped with frisée, tomatoes, and balsamic vinegar. The crust was buttery and flakey, and overall it was a success, though the amount of cheese was almost a bit overwhelming due to its thick texture. The main course was an extremely tender, boneless hunk of beef. I'm tempted to just call it elevated pot roast, because that's pretty much what it was. A big chunk of beef in the middle of the plate on top of a sauce, smothered in gravy, served with root vegetables. While the meat was cooked perfectly and really good, it was also somewhat of a bland dish that really would've benefitted from a starch, like mashed potatoes. Just serving a chunk of meat and a handful of vegetables isn't very interesting. Dessert was way too sweet. It was a cake with an ice cream shell, shaped like a candy bar. Chocolate on chocolate. It was just overwhelming in its sweetness and I couldn't get beyond one bite. This was really disappointing because I'm a huge dessert person and love sweets, but even I have my limits. The waiters and waitresses were kind of sullen, silently gliding in to bring food and then disappearing, never saying a word. Never came back around except to clear plates when it was time to bring out the next course. Since it was a private event, the staff were operating a little differently than if we were dining during normal service, but it was kind of bizarre and felt almost like the restaurant told them they needed to blend into the background and couldn't dare bring attention to themselves. Overall, just an ok meal. Nothing very memorable, unique, or anything I'd be dying to go back to try.

Yelp
A truly disappointing experience. Failed on so many levels there is no way to recommend this restaurant. As locals and avid diners, we can tell you that there are so many alternatives that are better and deserve your business. A restaurant like this that treats you like you are lucky to overspend on their mediocre service and food needs to live up to the experience they purport to provide. We are not difficult at all, but when you are paying $24 for a regular well drink and $100 per person (or more) for dinner, it is not unrealistic to expect that you will get a fantastic level of service and quality - apparently not at Mr. Parker's. They clearly know that most of their patrons are tourists who won't be return visitors so they don't need (or strive for) repeat business. Truly disappointing. If you had been to Mr.Parker's years ago and think you are going to have the experience they originally built their reputation on, you will likely be disappointed. Then there's the reservation system that they force you to use (Peak) that charges you for the privilege of making a reservation. Don't believe that this reservation fee is a "deposit" that will apply to your bill. Not at all, it is just a charge for the privilege of getting a reservation. The joke of it is there were plenty of empty tables, but when you make your reservation you would think you are "lucky" you were able to pay to reserve one. If the experience were worth it, it would be fine to pay for the reservations. It's not and don't waste your money. To top it all off, we expressed our dissatisfaction to the manager - not with anger and not with the expectation of getting anything for free - truly as constructive criticism that you would think a good manager would want to know. Instead of being apologetic or appreciative, he was condescending and told us they've booked up for the past two months and didn't really need or care for our opinion and to just deal with it. Ironically, he said this to us while standing at our table that had so many plates and glasses that hadn't been bussed in a half hour and thought nothing of it. They claim to have a high end experience but have no training in what that means - clearly a problem from the top down. Palm Springs is the place of so many unique and fantastic upscale restaurants that are so much better than this. Unless you are just looking for a restaurant that is decorated super cool and used to have a good history, do yourself the favor of going to discover the ones that truly deliver on the dining experience, not this one that is just trying to capitalize on the success of their history without delivering on their promise.

Francesca S.

Yelp
I never feel inclined to write reviews, but being dairy free. They are the most accommodating steakhouse I've ever been to. Everything cooked, no problems. Impeccable service

Yelp
Bruce was the reason we came after 10 years in the desert. We will definitely be back! Great food. Impeccable service. And.....Bruce! IYKYK......

Yelp
We had a fabulous time, service was spot-on and solicitous without being gratuitous. Amazing food, lovingly prepared, not over-done, everything very tasty. We cleaned our plates -- which is so gauche, I know, but at least we didnt lick them clean. We had a lovely spot in a far corner, with a view of the entire place, we felt so lucky to be wined and dined by this crew of professionals. Highly recommended!

Ken S.

Yelp
Too cool for school. Glorified motel 6. Everything is overpriced. Phone didn't work. They gave us the wrong room. Patio was crap overlooking a parking lot. Room was small. They think that putting mirrors on the walls in the bathroom with silly gold plated faucets would fool us. Think again. Maybe they should visit a real hotel in New York to get an idea of what real hospitality looks like.

Victoria R.

Yelp
This is one of the coolest restaurants we've ever visited! The ambience is very upscale, yet laid-back and private. The best way to describe it is "it's such a vibe and such a mood", lol. I absolutely love this place! The food was stellar, and they even gave us fresh bread with a lit candle made of butter as an appetizer. How unique and fun! I wish I would've taken more pictures but honestly, the vibe is so cool and private that I felt a little nerdy taking pictures and just wanted to soak it in. Our waitress took such good care of us. I honestly feel like she made us feel like we were so important and she genuinely wanted us to have the best experience. If I could give this place more than five stars, I would!

Yelp
Best dining experience in a long time. Amazing, cool, fun ambiance- and incredible food. Extra personal touches added from beginning to end. I usually leave more expensive restaurants irritated about the value. I was impressed.

Yelp
Wish we had a better experience than we did at this restaurant. I planned a dinner for my boyfriend's 40th birthday. I made a reservation 4 weeks in advance, and called 2 weeks in advance to alert the establishment it was his birthday. The reservations are on "Peak" - you reserve your specific table; catch is that apparently, other customers can "buy" your reservation from you. As this was intended to be a special milestone dinner, I booked a banquette. The day of the reservation (on his birthday) I received a text from Peak that someone wanted to buy my table for $50, and if I wanted to keep my table, I didn't need to respond. We arrived at the restaurant early, and had a drink at the bar - lounge/bar area is great! When time for our reservation, we were "greeted" by a host, who promptly informed us that this is a Dinner Jacket Only restaurant (we were never advised of this prior to the reservation). The host was pretty rude to us, and handed my boyfriend an ugly paisley silk magician's jacket. We were brought to a table that was NOT a banquette, instead a table in the middle of the room. Someone swiped our table, and we didn't receive the proposed $50. Disappointing, but we didn't say anything. We had high hopes for the evening regardless. Unfortunately, I would not suggest anyone waste their money here. For the $600 we spent, we assumed we would receive a level of service and food quality that would match the ambiance, and we were sadly incredibly disappointed. We had one server that seemed to leave 10 minutes after we were seated, claiming we were in for a night of surprise - our only surprise was the service was bad - he dropped a candle on the table (this is actually part of their bread and butter service), and left. The bread arrived 25 minutes later from a different server, who forgot to explain that the candle was the butter. After taking our order (almost an hour after we sat), all service nearly disappeared. The food was both over and undercooked - $140 for a Wagyu steak that was undercooked and flashed, and inedible. The steak tartare was prepared table side; the server said "I will review the items as we prepare the dish - let me know if you are allergic to or don't like anything" (to note, they never asked our allergies); before we could say if we wanted any adjustments, the ingredients were already in the dish. At one point, I brought "4-0" candles that I had purchased over to the host, to give the kitchen for dessert. He acted like I handed him something spoiled. The dessert came from the server and the host, who both just handed my boyfriend the dish and simply said "enjoy" and walked away. Overall, ambiance was a 10, tables were a 6, drinks were a 5, food was a 2, service was -5. We will not be making another stop here on our next Palm Springs annual trip.

Ana R.

Yelp
surprised by the negative reviews. We had a group of 6 and everyone loved the food and ambiance. Def will be back! The staff was also amazing!

danny m.

Yelp
Completely fabulous in every way. Romantic, historic, delicious and wonderful. BUT for the LOVE OF GOD, people please do your part to keep up the vibe. This place is not for your infant children. Get a babysitter. Respect the dress code. It exists for a reason. You are a part of the décor. Try to match the vibe. There are a million restaurants you can visit in your tee shirts and ball caps. This isn't one of them.

Kay L.

Yelp
We dined at Mr Parkers last night and literally cannot fault it. Hands down best room, dark and moody, expertly overseen by the fabulous Tim Fox. Service was impeccable, lobster bisque and table side prepared beef tartare were outstanding, all served by expert waitstaff. The complimentary sourdough boule and beef tallow butter (in the form of a candle) were divine. We are a couple from New Zealand, used to fine dining, and this did not disappoint. We can't wait to return.

Benjie S.

Yelp
I was shocked to find out that this restaurant uses a third-party reservation service that charges $40 just to make a reservation. Upon calling the restaurant to see if that charge would be applied to the bill I was informed that it is NOT, it is simply a charge by the reservation company. There are several other fine restaurants in Palm Springs, that don't charge that any fees like that. I recommend you go elsewhere.

A M.

Yelp
The new reservation system is a joke. Why on earth do they want me to "bid" on the honor of dropping a mortgage payment on dinner, and then not even know if I got a table or not? Cheesy, pretentious and gross.

Liz R.

Yelp
Mister Parker's was the perfect date night last night. We were impressed by the service provided, attention to detail and our food/drinks were great. Our table was always cleared and cleaned in between courses as well. Some of these reviews are very outdated... I would highly recommend giving it a chance.

Yelp
Great food, dark area. Drinks were great classics. Fantastic service too down. Pricy but really good meal!!! Would go back again.

Yelp
My second visit here was phenomenal. As I was here for a birthday celebration, the waitress greeted our table with complimentary rosé (delicious). Our waitress was incredible - kind, attentive and very helpful with menu suggestions. I was not a fan of the chilled pea soup as the peas were practically raw, but the beef trio & and seared scallops were PHENOMENAL. And the espresso crême brûlée was unmatched. Aside from the great food and incredible waitress, the decor is spectacular. I would describe it in detail, but it's truly a sight you have to see for yourself. Well worth a visit.

Brian W.

Yelp
Mister Parker's offers excellent service in one of the most handsome rooms in Palm Springs. With that said, although the food is well prepared and thoughtfully served, the menu's pricing which is more concurrent with a Michelin star restaurant is not in line with the dressed up steakhouse selections available. More frustrating is the restaurant dress code, which is very clearly telegraphed on both emails and text messages before arrival, yet the the majority of the gentlemen dining were not in jackets and ladies were clad in casual sweaters and jeans the night we arrived. Either enforce the dress code or do away with it, as there is nothing more frustrating than to dine next to patrons in sneakers and t-shirts when yoi have gone through the effort of looking your best in formal attire. Additionally the restaurant requires an online booking with a $10 service fee. When selecting our table it appeared the restaurant was almost fully booked but to our surprise when we arrived on a Saturday evening more than half the restaurant was closed off and the room we were in was half full.

Yelp
Good experience with a twist. The ambience makes this place very enjoyable. The food was good however we had a duck that was severely charred. Suggestion would be for the Beef Tartar. -Cheers

Yelp
We haven't been to MP in a couple years. The last time we were there they sat us in the back room by ourselves and we missed the ambiance of the main room. We said based on that experience we would never go back. This time we specifically asked for the main dining area and decided to give it another try. And we're sorry we did. We take no issue with disco music, but the level at which it plays will scramble your brain. Forget having a conversation with your party. I asked our server if it could be lowered and he said he would speak to the maitre d. The volume never went down and the maitre d said he never heard about my complaint when I asked him at the end of the night. The food was so-so. Overpriced, small portions and nothing that wowed us. They are clearly catering to people from out of the area and that are willing to pay outrageous prices for mediocre food. And if that wasn't bad enough, they gut punch you with a $8 valet charge. And if we didn't have our ticket stamped by the restaurant it would have been $20 and $50 for 3 hours. I don't know what planet they're on, but someone needs to get a grip. After living in PS for 17 years and being here numerous times, we will NEVER go back, and we will definitely not recommend.

Joann S.

Yelp
Last night 4 of us went to Mister Parker's to celebrate Christmas Eve. What a disappointment. The only thing that lived up to expectations is the eclectic art in the lobby and bar and lovely ambiance of Mister Parker's. Unfortunately the food and service was mediocre at best. The lobster bisque was cold and tasteless. The halibut was dry and cold. The mushrooms and root vegetable medley were cold and tasteless. The restaurant needs a new chef and a better trained wait staff before they reopen full time. This restaurant no longer lives up to its past reputation. The $760 meal was a rip off. We could have gone to Crab Shack and had a better meal. It is sad when a restaurant forgets why they are in business. I hope for their sake that they use the down time to figure out how to improve or change the management team!

Yelp
We went for dessert. We loved the warm welcome from the staff, the ambiance is like going back to 1959. Decor is vibrant and happy orange couches. The menu is extensive: salads, sandwiches and other. Our waiter was a very accommodating and helpful. Coffee was excellent. We had small doughnuts choosing from custard or berries sauces. The doughnuts were fresh and warm lots of sugary dust. We had an order of tiny pies: key lime and banana caramel, sweet!!!

Yelp
What an expensive disaster! Our first clue something was very amiss was the wine list, which includes no Chardonnay, Chablis, Pinot Gris or Pinot Noir (?!). The Sommelier finally produced a "reserve" bottle of Chardonnay for $130 (we later saw the same bottle for $29 at Ralph's). Others here have complained about the absurdly limited and overpriced fixed price menu. Apparently you can choose to skip some portions (veal sweetbreads, anyone?) and double up on others. Our steaks were so tough we finally gave up trying to saw through them. We tried to bring this to the manager's attention but we're repeatedly given excuses-- topped by the whopper that he was "detained in the bathroom." Yuck. The bill was over $350 even minus the steaks, which we refused to pay for. Save yourself the headache and heart burn and avoid this place at all costs.

Yelp
Yeah... this place is pretty full of itself. We made a reservation for drinks and deserts with no indication that it was a 3-course-meal-or-nothing kind of place. They were so proud to present their cheap tasting champagne and hysterically small appetizers, three different people told us ALL about what went into preparing it when... honestly... we just wanted to be left alone to eat. Then the menus came... three course meals or nothing. We asked if we could just order desert since we had eaten dinner before and were looking forward to enjoying dessert and drinks, and the waiter didn't hesitate to bring a manager. The manager told us another restaurant at The Parker might be more accommodating and gave us the walk of shame, essentially kicking us out of the restaurant. So we made reservations with the intention to purchase dessert, nobody told us the restaurant required intention to eat three courses, and we got kicked out... cool.

Yelp
Welcome back, we've missed you! Attended the friends and family get together this evening, and to say everything was sublime would be a gross understatement. The decor, spot on! The staff couldn't be better! The management, so attentive! The food BRAVO! I mistakenly, didn't understand my friend emoji (because I'm an adult) that jackets were required. I love that! Count me in for at least a monthly visit.

Yelp
We've been dining at Mr. Parker's for 10 years. We've had great service from Danielle at the lobby bar and have admired the Jonathan Adler decor in the restaurant and the hotel. This year, we decided to celebrate New Years Eve at Mr Parker's and made our reservations 6 weeks in advance. We arrive early to enjoy a cocktail served by Danielle. Instead of being welcomed at the hotel entrance, we were stopped by security at the entrance of the hotel. Unfortunately, our reservations had been lost. Instead of offering us an apology and a suggestion as to how we could enjoy our New Years Eve without our forgotten reservation, we were asked to leave the property. Sadly, we will not be back to The Parker. I hope the condescending manager who turned us away reaps what he has sown.

Yelp
Ask for Brian. Ask for Brian's recommendations. Got a "popular item" (octopus, also escargot is v popular but Bri read my mind and emphasized other dishes). everything Brian recommended was exxxxxxtra tasty special. It's rare that a waiter gets you. Thanks, BM! ordered: octopus, artichoke, bisque, mussels Can't live without: artichoke, lobster bisque, the sourdough bread and butter

Yelp
Seriously, food is great, ambience is awesome, the service is excellent! Ate there last night, and tonight, we were seated in Brian's section, and oh my god, what a friggin delight he is. Matt, one of the hosts is also a gem. The bar next door is nice too, great bartender Jose. I wish we could live at The Parker. One day. Had the Rib eye and Pork Chops, both excellent.

Yelp
This is a fun place and the service is pretty awesome. The food is really good we actually only went in for drinks and some tapas and had a great time during a girls weekend. I love this hotel.....it has some personality and I really like Jonathan Adler and I like his quirkiness and flair.

Yelp
First off this restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The service was amazing. We had a reservation and we were seated promptly. The food was amazing. The crab cakes are to die for. I ordered the 12oz steak it was seasoned perfectly. The restaurant is very dark and romantic. They even give you little flashlights to look at the menu. I would definitely dine here again. Next time I want to stay at the hotel as it was also gorgeous.

Yelp
My all-time favorite ambiance. The interior and the food are terrific. The art is especially cool. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I was invited here for a friend's birthday dinner. We were "greeted" by the snooty Maitre'D, (yes, we did shower before arriving)! Although the food was very good, I had a tasty Crab cake loaded with crab, and the Jarrette d'Agneau, (Lamb shank), big enough for 2 people, bursting with flavor in a savory gravy, the blasting music ruined the ambience. We had to scream at each other to make any kind of conversation. The room is overloaded with tatty tschotkes and very dark. Most of the other diners were too busy with their phones to probably notice the music or decor. 3 stars only for the food.

Yelp
High expectations were absolutely delivered on. I can see why this place isn't for everyone - which is why it's good. It's dark, the ceilings are low and it's very intimate. Kids would hate it. Good. There were no kids. The Crab Cake was phenomenal, the Lobster Bisque received rave reviews. Everything was so tasty and rich. The Cote de Bouef (rib eye on the bone) was pretty special. I'd had an expensive rib eye the night before but this trumped it. Excellent and friendly service and a really great night. A final word for the decor and excellent playlist with the likes of Chic, Earth Wind & Fire etc. cheers.

Yelp
Dissapointing, this is style over substance with a lack of creativity and at times a lack of basic cooking skills. Without a doubt one of the most dissapointing high end meals I've had in Palm Springs. Geared for weekend crowd who equate valet and high price tags with class I'm not sure what I found more offensive the patronizing servers, the very drunk very loud botoxed diners or the food that was poorly cooked. Some of the worst octopus I've had in North America. There is a certain type of restaurant that I don't care for and that is dying out. The restaurant where it's about style over substance and the staff judges the diners. They still exist but almost always the poor food quality seems intrinsically linked to condescending staff. mister parker's is that kind of place. It started when we pulled up in our campvan instead of our Porsche. We went camping in Joshua Tree but you would have thought we came from the moon by the attitude of the valet. Then we got to the restaurant where the host literally ignored us until I said excuse me three times and then he looked pissed. While the space is charming with style of a British men's club in the late 1960's, think wood and risque art, they have made no attempt to have sound baffling. We were dressed casually with me in a button up shirt and no suit jacket since there was no dress code required. The diners were a selection of very drunk gay men and their straight lady friends, a French speaking family who's kids were kids and acted as such and various couple trying to have intimate dinners which with the kids and the drunks wasn't really possible. It was hard to hear each other over the din of the drunks. The menu looks amazing especially the starters and we decided to get all the starters and a few side dishes. We knew it would be a lot of food for two people but we didn't have a budget and wanted to try things. Our server, another older man continued to have the same poor attitude as the host talking down to us about the food and assuming we were unfamiliar even with the French names which is hilarious since the spouse is French and actually pronounced the dishes correctly unlike the server. Once the order was taken we barely him again as all the dishes were brought out by staff that have the time did not say what the dish was or who said it so fast we had no idea what they were saying. I had told them to plate and serve as the kitchen wanted trusting that they would not fire all the dishes at the same time and would serve from cold to hot. That was not the case. The best things we ate were the oysters and the gnocchi. The worst was the octopus which was the worst octopus I've had in North American. It was inedible, chewy and didn't even seemed properly prepped. Octopus is probably one of the most popular proteins in US high end dining right now and I know that many chefs in the US aren't as experienced with as the chefs in Europe and I'm lucky to be in Spain every year but that plate should have never left the kitchen. We did not eat it and while the server saw that we had not eaten it, they did not ask about it and I had to bring it up. The other dishes all had decent ingredients although not of the highest quality especially the scallops which I think may have even been frozen and I felt like I was eating knock-offs of far better dishes from chefs in NYC, LA and SF and far worse than anything I've eaten in years in France. Certainly despite putting everything in French most of the dishes that were French derived were pall comparisons to the food we eat in the Côte d'Azur. We kept waiting for the meal to get better but it did not. I know the level of food at Palm Springs restuarants has often been geared to a more conservative and staid palate but the Parker Palm Springs bills itself as being geared more for a younger and more international crowd. It needs to have restaurants then that match the quality of large city and international tourist destinations and it needs to have staff that reflect that. That was not what we experienced. I would have been happy to pay the 200+ bill if the food and service had been at that level. It was not.

Yelp
I was pretty hyped up about going to Mister Parker's for dinner this past Saturday. We arrived at the hotel, valet parking was fast and courteous. Went to the bar inside and it was small and crowded. The bartender was very nice and promptly filled our drink orders as we sat in the lounge waiting for Mister Parker's to open. The interior of the restaurant was nice, dark and hip with some choice artwork on the walls. The menu was extensive and we ordered the following. 1.) Escargot 2,) Steak Tartare 3.) Crab cakes Appetizers all were okay nothing spectacular. So on to dinner as follows. 1.) Steak and frites ( okay) 2.) Duck confit (average but warm not served hot) 3.) Wagyu short ribs tender but nothing special, again served barely warm). Coast on the high side, food on the average side. The service was great.
