15 Top-Notch Restaurants in Sonoma County

"With seven rotating, family-run food trucks in the Latinx neighborhood of Roseland, this is the place to nab a variety of Mexican street eats, such as rich birria, succulent goat meat stewed with ancho chilies; crunchy Yucatan panuchos; Oaxacan tacos; and spicy seafood stew from Pezcow, which also has a permanent restaurant in Windsor. Picnic tables are arranged beneath a well-lit tent for outdoor dining, and a shipping container-turned-bar slings mezcal and tequila cocktails to keep you warmed up from the inside out." - Christina Mueller, Dianne de Guzman

Google
I got the asada super burrito and asada tacos at the Lucha Sabina food truck, my friends got fish tacos and birria tacos at Gio y Los Magos and we all loved our food. The Lucha Sabina tacos were pretty spicy even for my Hispanic partner, but it was really really good. We all got horchata and it was really good, not the junky watered down stuff. I really cannot express more how great all of the food was

Google
This is the best place to get food in Santa Rosa. You have countless options and all of them are phenomenal. I take everyone I know here and they have the best time. The live music on the weekends is fun too!

Google
Mitote Food Park IS the spot to enjoy amazing Mexican food and hang out with friends and family. There is plenty of outdoor seating. There is live music sometimes and it can get loud. Food trucks sell outstanding dishes. Fruit waters are refreshing. It gets cold at night, but they have heaters on. I advise bring warm clothes if you're going later in the afternoon or evenings. Mitotes will not disappoint you.

Google
You shouldn’t be able to find this many incredible tacos in Sebastopol, CA… but here we are. We got one taco from each truck and couldn’t pick a favorite. Iconic spot.

Google
Heaven for Mexican food lovers. Mitote has food trucks with amazing dishes, we got the birria Gordita and quesadilla. They were dance in your seat good. The food park also has a full bar and a dj on Friday evening. Don’t leave without getting a churro. I can’t wait to come back!

Google
Came for an event and was impressed with the ambiance. Even as a temporary activation, this was impressive as it is an incubator for small business with a great selection of food, beverages, and beer. It could be really effective if more infrastructure was implemented but understand the constraints of future development.

Google
Love this place, lots of food trucks and different types of food items. Fun, friendly atmosphere everytime I go. Parking can be a little annoying sometimes. Spend as much or little as you like. Tacos are cheap, great horchata.

Andrew Beals

Google
I loved my visit there last night and it's a cryin' shame that they have to be out of there by 2025-01-31. I hope they are able to find a new spot for the gathering. The food was so very good and everyone was lovely.

Yelp
Mitote Park has the most unique Outdoor vibe. The general idea is that there's between 8-10 Food Trucks parked around an outdoor seating area. The seating area has plenty of tables, chairs, and heaters to get you comfortably seated to enjoy a great outdoor dining experience. The Food Trucks are mostly Mexican & South American foods. Each truck has its own unique menu items. We decided to try "La Victoria". Their Pambazos & Tacos were really good. They were also selling "Hot Champurrado" during that Chilly Night. They also have a bar that sells Beers, Margaritas & a wide variety of Cocktails. We loved it. Cant wait to be back during the Summer Nights!

Yelp
Mitote Food Park: A Sonoma Wine Country Gem If you're visiting Sonoma Wine Country, Mitote Food Park is an absolute must! Don't expect playgrounds or sandboxes here--this "park" offers something even better: an unforgettable culinary experience. Nestled in the heart of Santa Rosa's Latino Quarter, Mitote Food Park features eight vibrant Latino food trucks arranged around a massive white tent. Beneath the tent, rows of spacious wooden park benches invite you to sit, savor, and soak in the atmosphere. The food options are as diverse as they are delicious, ranging from mountainous quesadillas to savory mushroom tacos. The best way to navigate? Take a stroll, ask diners, "What's that?" or "Which truck did you get this from?"--you might just discover your next favorite dish. And don't forget dessert! There's even a dedicated dessert and coffee truck to round out your meal. Mitote isn't just about the food; it's a place to connect. Share a bench with locals, trade stories, and enjoy the vibrant cultural energy that makes this spot so special. Location: Santa Rosa's Latino Quarter--a hub for some of the finest food inspired by flavors south of the border. Pro Tip: Come hungry, be curious, and enjoy every bite. Pasarlo bien!

Yelp
Don't move the Mitote Food Park! Support this place while you can and sign the petition! 5 trucks to choose from and a bar Sazon Tepache, Mezcal y mas! Had another delicious lunch at the Donde El Mar truck today. Fish y Pirata tacos. $5 each Gracias!

Yelp
Fantastic tacos, refreshing drinks, and delicious desserts! Vibrant atmosphere. Must-visit spot!

Yelp
What a Cultural experience. Plenty of food trucks, so many that you may wanna see what others are eating and then ask which truck they got their food from. They have a full bar truck, a seafood truck, taco trucks, dessert trucks. Seating is community picnic tables. There is a live DJ and open mic performances, some darling young girls were singing their hearts out. As I was munching on my large burrito from Gio y Los magos food truck, the dance floor was filling up with some very serious, fantastic Latin dancers. This place is fascinating, good food, good company and very intriguing. I felt I was on a vacation in Mexico. Loads of family members enjoying life. This is a great concept and it is really appreciated for the people that live in the Roseland area and those that seek something fun and different. Can't wait to go again.

Yelp
Super fun spot with various food trucks! We hit up the bar and got a couple of mezcal based cocktails. Solid drinks for about $12 each. We tried some tacos, birria fries and some churros. Everything was tasty! Fun vibes, good food and drinks. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Drea U.

Yelp
Fun environment & great food! You get lots of options here. I got a chicken mole burrito & nacho fries from Victoria's food truck. LARGE portions. In total it was $28. Everyone is super helpful and the food is made very fast. Just good vibes all around, will be coming back!
google avatar

Veronica A.

Yelp
This place was awesome! They have a bunch of different, delicious tasting food trucks. A small farmers market and music. The vibe is great as well! Looking forward to returning and trying out more food trucks!

Yelp
Save the Mitote Food Park! The new park does not include Mitote and it will be forced to close if we don't do something! Please sign the petition and come to the County Board of Supervisors to speak during the public comment, Tuesday's starting 1/7/25. Spread the word!!!

Yelp
All the food trucks here are great. Dont bother with the bar, over priced and not even a full drink

Yelp
I live for my visits to Mitote Food Park! This time, they had a DJ, and the vibes were through the roof, as always. The food is amazing, and it's so much fun to try different food trucks. So far, the service has been super fast, and the employees are always kind and respectful. I love comparing what each vendor specializes in. For example, Mi Taquito or Super Taco are my go-tos for elote, while @Antojitosvvvictoria makes the best handmade tortillas. @LuchaSabina has incredible passion fruit agua frescas, and @LaChurroteka's churros are a must-try. For dessert, Delicioso Mini Pancakes has crepes with Nutella and strawberries that are to die for! I still need to try more of the businesses and their offerings, but I'm so excited!

Yelp
Best tacos and margaritas on the strip of Sebastopol Rd. Live entertainment, plentiful seating and big parking space. Old shopping center of Raley's and the old bowling alley. There are taco trucks wrapped around the gazebo seating area. Come find live action, dancing and good service 7days week 24 hours a day.

Yelp
We just had an incredible family Christmas dinner tonight at Nobu. Our server Ryan was awesome and helped curate the perfect celebratory menu for our table of 8 from sake to mains. We loved all the cold dishes - hamachi, salmon and fluke (the favorite of the table), the hot dishes - black cod, ribeye, lobster, and a delicious sushi spread to close out our meal. The uni was so fresh!
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
I ordered a shrimp quesadilla and while for the price and size, it wasn't bad, but could definitely use a bit more flavor. A few food trucks to choose from with tables in the middle to eat at.
google avatar

Vic A.

Yelp
Can't go wrong!. Such a great vibe! Had one of each Panuchos, Empanadas and Cochinita taco Will return when I am in Santa Rosa!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great stop if you want to try multiple food trucks at once. The ambience is comfortable, safe, and colorful. They usually have music playing or a live band on the weekends, which makes this place super fun. I like that I can order roasted corn from one place, tacos from another, and Agua Fresca from a third place. And you can't forget the fresh churros at the end! We have been here multiple times and it is always super delicious, I recommend it to all my friends and family!
google avatar

Yelp
Mitote Food Park is a great spot in Santa Rosa and is the very first Mexican Food Park in Northern California. There are always a couple of food trucks and options for everyone. I love taking friends here when they are visiting the area. It's such a festive spot with a great atmosphere. They have picnic table seating. They also have bar that serves cocktails, beer, wine, cider and more. Happy Hour takes place on Monday through Friday from 12-5 p.m. They are open 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. daily, which is one of the few places open that late in the evenings in Sonoma County. I highly recommend checking out Mitote Food Park!
google avatar

Adriana G.

Yelp
We went there for the first time to celebrate my husband's birthday. We absolutely loved it. Great family place. Everybody was able to order whatever they want and the cocktail bar was really good.
google avatar

Tory M.

Yelp
The parking lot is a little chaotic. It's nice that there are multiple options for food and drink but it's still mostly Mexican food. I got beer and some amazing tacos so I'm not complaining but it's just a hodgepodge of food trucks and not super accessible. No real service because it's a food truck and there are portopotties for the bathroom. Gravel floors eh. It's fine for an afternoon
google avatar

Rochelle E.

Yelp
The cocktails are creative and delicious. Solid place to get Mexican food! Can't go wrong with anything here.
google avatar

Debbie M.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere. Lots of selections. Mushroom tacos were delicious. Wanted more ice for my drink but other than that it is definitely a place I'll go to again,
google avatar

Sophia N.

Yelp
Food trucks to choose from, drinks, large seating area, and good music! What is there not to like about this place? We like to buy some tacos, purchase a mixed drink or beer, and get some churros when we're there, but you can check out some foods you can't get many other places like tamales, huaraches, or tlayudas. This place is a must visit place that you can't find anywhere else.
google avatar

Nelson Q.

Yelp
Mitote Food Park out in Santa Rosa is a MUST if you LOVE Mexican food! Make your way to Sebastopol Road in an area called "Little Mexico" and you'll see a tented area surrounded by food trucks serving familiar fare -tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc. That doesn't stop there. You can also try other specialities like Birria, Mulitas, Tlayudas, Huaraches, Machetes, and even churros for dessert! (I think) all trucks have a pager system for when your order is ready. Here's what we shared: SUPER TACO TRUCK Cabeza Tacos, Tripa Tacos BIRRIA TIME TRUCK Birria Tacos, Consome, Birria Mulita ANTOJITOS VICTORIA TRUCK Huitlacoche Quesadilla Flor de Calabaza Quesadilla Aside from the tacos de tripa being chewy(when I requested them to be EXTRA CRISPY) everything we got was good, but the stars were the quesadillas from Antojitos Victoria. A live Salsa band entertained patrons throughout the evening, and for those who plan to drink responsibly, there is a spot to purchase alcohol. Great first visit, and most definitely not the last! ALOHA!!! SHAKA METER: \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ 5

Yelp
What's not to love about this place, There is a little bit of everything but a lot of food. There is live music every Friday and Sunday from what I saw and the place is divided in two sections, Alcohol Bar on one side and the food on the other side. Food is different cultures from Mexico different food from different states in Mexico, One of my Favorites is Oaxacan food. I do have to say this are all Taco trucks and the food is pretty amazing. What I love about it is that it's an out door place. There's also a desert truck and the Churros are pretty amazing. A must try and high recommend.

Yelp
Online says open until 11:00pm but all the vendors were closed before 10pm on this hot Taco Tuesday, June 4.

Yelp
We came on a rainy Friday night and I think it dampened most of the worker's spirits since most people seemed to be in a worse mood. Everything was very delicious for the most part but a lot of little things were missing. First, there was no salsa given for anything which I thought was kinda strange. The mole burrito from the mi taquito truck was slightly too salty. Couldn't taste the tinga we added as much since the molé was overpowering which is understandable. There were too many pickled veggies in the al pastor torta from another truck we ordered from. The consome from the Birria truck was pretty mid consome compared to places like Jalapeño in the area but it was still an ok consome. The Gordita was good, nothing much to say abt it but good cheese and meat ratio. The mini churro Sunday hit the spot to end our meal. More dense churros but not too heavy at all. The vanilla ice cream that topped it was surprisingly very good. We also got a caramel filled churro and condensed milk. Overall I recommend for their variety of options and ask for salsa! We forgot since we were so hungry but remembered when we finished the meal.

Yelp
What I loved was the fun, festive atmosphere! Children to seniors with everything in between! Each time we've gone, the place was packed! We've officially tried each truck there and have a couple favorites. That said, most everyone in my group liked everything they had so it's a win whenever you go. I know it'll grow and adjust in time so maybe tamales or handmade flour/corn tortillas will some day be available. Good for the visionaries of Mitote Park!

Yelp
Great food! The Quesabarria tacos and consume were delicious!!! Love the cocktails too. First time there. Will definitely be back soon!!

Yelp
It was such a cute vibe! The music, lights, ambience, and there's a beautiful full bar as well!! I live in the neighborhood and have passed by this place soo many times, but haven't had the chance to stop by until tonight. They have 2 areas -- a food area and a bar area (you can't bring alcohol outside the bar area but you can bring food in to the bar area), as well as benches, tables, and heaters at night. The bar offers beer in cans/bottles and on tap, as well as cute lil specialty cocktails, and they make the drinks right away in front of you! The food was good as well, very authentic, but I just wish there were more variety in the options (I remember there used to be more/other food trucks offering different things here before). It was essentially all the same food (i.e. tacos, Tortas, burritos, quesadillas, etc) everywhere but just from different vendors. Overall everything was fairly priced but it does vary by vendors (some tacos were $2.50 at one vendor, while some were $4 at another). We enjoyed a few drinks, lots of food, and finished off with some delicious freshly made churros. Overall, I'm so glad the Roseland area has something like this for the community to enjoy, and to bring others into the neighborhood. I see great potential in this place and look forward to seeing it evolve and grow even more! Seems like a nice place to hang out and enjoy some good food. Could be cute for date night or just hanging out with friends/family, and it also feels very kid friendly as well. The possibilities are endless for this -- they could have live music, create a dance area, extend the space to offer more vendors, add more tables, etc.... But either way, I'll definitely be back here soon!

Yelp
Lively place with live music. Choice of 4 Mexican food trucks with a churro tent and alcohol truck. Lots of area to sit and enjoy your meal with umbrellas for shade. There is Mitote parking behind the trucks. Clean restrooms
google avatar

Edna C.

Yelp
They were good but keep in mind they are the size of your finger. Actually your finger might be longer than them. And for 9$ you get 6. You decided if that's alright for you. They were tasty. I guess I was just expecting bigger.
google avatar

Peggy A.

Yelp
My friends and I decided to check it out Friday night rather than go to a restaurant and I'm so glad we did. It was immediately a good time from just the music and atmosphere and the Mezcal cocktails and amazing food just made it better. We'll be going back regularly to try more of everything!

Zulema R.

Yelp
Tried lots of food from different trucks and all of it was delicious! The vibe was great and friendly!
google avatar

Emily W.

Yelp
I love this place! Covered, food truck spot with about 5-6 permanent "pop ups." Wonderful selection of Latin American cuisine. Friendly, colorful ambiance, great bar, ample seating, and delicious food choices. Only reason for my 4 star was because it can be a bit challenging to eat here as a vegetarian. Mushroom tacos are highly rated but hard to branch out when it's almost the only option. Bring a coat; it gets chilly as it's an open air establishment. :)
google avatar

Hattie A.

Yelp
Pezcow has tasty shrimp taco, super taco carne asada tacos and topped it off with churros! We will be back for sure! Only thing I have negative to say is the music is far to LOUD!
google avatar

Barb G.

Yelp
Very cool outdoor experience. I love that you pick dishes from multiple food trucks. It was all fantastic! Clean, friendly and fab food! Empanadas, fish tacos, ceviche
google avatar

Karen F.

Yelp
Absolutely can't wait to go back! We tried 4 different trucks and everything was absolutely perfect! The best tamale I've ever had, excellent charred chicken quesadilla and birria tacos!! Must try!!
google avatar

Yelp
Driving down the street and this place is hard to miss- colorful, bright and nice! There's plenty of parking all around. Mitote is a food court offering a good selection of home style cooking from Mexican food trucks and booths. Very clean seating areas decorated with a small vase of beautiful flowers. The tacos from Maria Machetes were very delicious! I didn't feel the need to add sauce. The chorizo taco was my favorite. Chorizo was slightly crispy, Love! Tried a burrito from Antojitos Victoria and it was good. I liked the burrito skin a lot, but wished the meat was a little less chopped up. I added double meat and combined asada with al pastor. Would definitely do that again. By the entrance was a beautiful bar. Tequila was recommended for the Palomitote. Very refreshing and nicely done drink. I enjoyed my visit. Relaxing atmosphere. Very friendly service from both trucks and the bar. There's almost no description of each menu item. Some trucks offered a few photos. If you want to try unfamiliar items, have your phone and Google ready.

Yelp
The new and improved Mitote Food Park is the place to be. Having grown up in the Roseland area, Sebastopol Rd. has always been known for the good hispanic food. And I love the fact that the Mitote Food Park accentuates the culture but also brings in diversity. My favs: El Charro Negro - baja california beach food, I choose this food truck when I'm craving seafood dishes. Lucha Sabina - has delicious Oaxacan dishes, we're talking.... Cochinita Pibil, Tlayudas, Moletes Antojitos Victoria - classic Mexican dishes, oh and during cold months they have champurrado The new bar looks promising and can't wait to try.
google avatar

Jeffrey D.

Yelp
The food was wonderful with great variety. Everyone was extremely friendly easy-going happy to serve and fun to be around. I Outdoors on a beautiful afternoon with Mexican music playing. What's not to love! I give 5 stars to all who put out good food have a great service and a lovely ambience. Sometimes it's a fancy restaurant and sometimes it's a food court. You will not be disappointed and will have a great time
google avatar

Roberto R.

Yelp
Fabulous place to bring the family for an out door experience with good food and good drinks. Lots of food trucks to choose from including my favorite Lucha Sabina, been coming to these place for quite a while and never been disappointed. A place where culture and food meet with diverse flavors. For a good time on a fabulous Friday these is the place to come with Live music. Shake your buddy after a good meal and don't forget to buy the Churros for decert. I give El Mitote five stars in every thing.

Yelp
Went back last week and I love this place! They have it covered now for the winter, with tons of space heaters! This is so good for our community and love the impact!
google avatar

Anthony C.

Yelp
I had been here a few years ago before it was a fully sanctioned thing. And today I've gone again now that it is a fully sanctioned thing. I liked it. But there's still some things that need improvement. The main thing, today was a very hot August day. It was mid 90s and there just is not enough shade and covered seating. I feel, at least half of this courtyard should be fullly covered with a permanent structure for shade and protection from both sun and rain. And that way the park can be in operation year around. It was an enjoyable atmosphere and I saw many friends and family enjoying themselves. But many people were waiting for tables and anxious to get a table especially the ones that did have the shade umbrellas. I feel the biggest improvement needed to make this park more enjoyable would definitely be to cover at least half of the courtyard with a pergola or gazebo in order to make shade in the hot summertime and shelter from rain in the winter.
google avatar

Michael W.

Yelp
Came here recently and tried El Cora ordered the posolè verde with pollo. It was excellent! Loved the flavors and it had a good amount of meat in it. Will definitely come back when in the area.
google avatar

Tina O.

Yelp
What a fun place. Newly renovated with nice tables and umbrellas, new outdoor bathrooms and washing stations and now they have a bar - yeah! Unfortunately our favorite food truck, Charro Negro, has gone out of business but many other trucks and a variety of food to choose from. It's like being in Mexico, without the beach. Lots of families and cheerful friendly faces. We had a variety of foods from various trucks and loved them all - churros too! Check it out!
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
I love food from Mexico so I thought I'd check this place out and buy am I glad I did! There were four different food trucks to choose from. I got a delicious torta from one of the food trucks there. It was squire possibly the best torta I have ever had the pleasure of indulging in. The meat was asada (steak). It was so tender! It was chopped up into tiny bite size pieces and each of those pieces just melted in my mouth! I have never had carne asada that did that! I really enjoyed that! The bread they use was a huge bolillo! That bread is something else! It's similar to a dinner roll, but much bigger. It had mayo, some cheese, the meat and so much freaking flavor! I didn't even use the little salsas I had asked for. I saved those for some tasty eggs I made myself at home the next morning. ....the staff was super friendly and make you feel so welcomed. They definitely appreciate their customers. ...I can't wait to come back and try more that these food trucks have to offer!

Sarah _.

Yelp
There are EIGHT restaurants! EIGHT! It was hard to pick one, as they were ALL fantastic. Some of the best regional Mexican cuisine I've had, all in a really fun family-friendly atmosphere with live music. Everyone was so friendly and happy. It felt like crashing a friend's quinceañera. Vegetarian mushroom tacos? Check. Fresh limes and whole avocados on the plate? Check. BBQ and Birria? Check. Hot Soup? Check. Whole pickled jalapeños? Check. Chocolate churros with ice cream in the middle? Check. The only bad thing about this place is it is not that close to me. They should install a helicopter landing pad and fly people in from around the bay. Just kidding. Maybe I will organize buses to go there on weekends...
google avatar

Yelp
Neat little food truck park. I love the selection you get when there's 5 other food trucks in addition to Elenitas and El Roy's across the street. It was all mexican food when we went so I was looking for the most unique food items (didn't want to just get regular tacos, burritos, etc). We ended up with birria fries, huitlacoche quesadilla (corn fungus), and cactus quesadilla. One of the trucks had grasshopper tacos on the menu but they weren't available that day so I'll be coming back another day to try those! The cool thing is that there are a lot of drink options. All sorts of frescas to horchatas. There is an entire bar dedicated to alcoholic drinks. There was also a churro stand opening up when we were there. I heard the grand re-opening of Mitote park was in a couple of weeks so by the time you read this, there are probably even more food trucks there!
