Yelp
Mitsuru is a Japanese café diner with delicious Japanese food.(Don't confuse it with the Mitsuru cafe at Miyakawa shopping center nearby.) I haven't been here in a while, but stumbled upon it while shopping at the Daiso Japanese center, I remembered it being a pleasuring experience while I was out shopping here with my grandfather. I have been here plenty of times and it is a very convenient place to go if you haven't been here before.
Outside, it is located on a street in Los Angeles. It is surrounded by many other places to shop and has metered parking around it. Nearby, you can pay $8.00 for parking. You can validate your ticket as well if you decide to eat here and void some of the charges. My friend and I came by and saw that inside the window were plastic replicas of the food that can be ordered on the menu (Think of it as mannequins, but for food). These were an addition from when I last came here.
While entering inside, you immediately are greeted by a sushi chef on the left hand side. We opted not to go for the sushi station and decided that it was best if we could relax and sit at one of the many comfortable seats inside. All of the seats are chairs with comfortable seating except at this diner table and the sushi area. There are stools at the diner and sushi station for those who just want to sit and have a quick meal.
I noticed as I was looking at the wifi, that there was none I could use for free. However, other people seem to have it work on their phones. Moreover, in the far back of the restaurant, there are bathrooms for both genders. The music inside was faint and quiet, all I could hear were people speaking softly while eating there meals.
When the waitress came over, she had a big smile across her face and calmly handed us our menus. She was polite, her attitude was outstanding and her timing was quick. She gave me and my friend our waters in less than 1 minute! On to the menu, plenty of choices to choose. You can't go wrong with any of them: chicken katsu with rice, salmon rolls, California rolls, tempura, yakisoba, chicken teriyaki and much more Hawaiian food. I noticed that there was another menu inserted inside the bigger menu, it had specials on it. These specials are daily and change everyday. I ordered the salmon roll special while my friend ordered the yakisoba. These meals were cheap and worth the price we paid for. It came with our special meal, miso soup, salad and cucumber coleslaw. We were so thrilled to eat it and it was amazing!
The prices of our meals were $6 ($6.58 after taxes). There are other meals that range from 8-12$, but the specials we felt were a steal. These were affordable and delicious.
In the end, our stomaches were full, we left happy and we will come back again sometime in the future. I do have to note, there are sushi and other various desserts on the diner table that can be purchased. I did NOT find these items on the menus the waitress handed us. They are around $5-6.50 for the sushi platters and $0.75 for the donuts.
