The Best Restaurants In Tokyo

"You owe it to yourself to try a conveyor-belt sushi spot if you’ve never experienced it before. Unlike in the US, conveyer-belt sushi in Japan isn’t considered corny at all. It’s quick, convenient, affordable, and a great way to try a lot of different stuff. Magurodonya Miura Misakiko is far up north in Ueno, but it’s near Ueno Park and the National Museum, two big tourist attractions that you should visit while you’re here anyway. Hit this place for lunch in between sight seeing, or dinner once you finish at the museum and are tired of using your brain. Magurodonya Miura Misakiko is located in a row of other conveyor-belt spots near the train station, but it’s the best of the bunch. Eat here over anywhere nearby, and see how many mini sushi plates you can stack up." - josh layne

The lines were manageable and moved quickly. Once seated, I was offered complimentary hot or iced green tea while browsing the menu on the iPad. Staff explained that ordering works as a double system — you can place orders through the iPad or grab sushi directly from the conveyor belt. The seafood was fresh and high quality. I’ll definitely visit again — it’s worth the wait.

Best sushi in town!!! Staff were great, food were fresh and super delicious! Very generous portions and I love the engawa and salmon, they were exceptional 🙏! It was a very fulfilling and satisfying meal, was literally beyond my expectations ✨ I accidentally left my bag here after dinner and they kept it for me and even opened the shop for me to retrieve my bag after closing 😭 I’m so grateful and will 100%, definitely come back again! Thank you Miura Misaki Port Ueno, keep slaying 👏👏👏

"Overflowing" Sushi - Small but Decent This is the "overflowing" sushi place, and you might wait a bit for a seat as the restaurant is quite small with limited seating. Overall, it's pretty average. The eel was delicious, but other items were just okay. You can grab plates from the conveyor belt or order specially via tablet. There's a restroom on the second floor.

The food was super fresh - much higher quality than I was expecting. I would recommend going early as there’s always a line.

It's worth waiting in the queue. I was there 20 minutes before the restaurant opened; I got the first spot in line. The fish and seafood are very fresh and delicious; the price is also good. Their special meal is also pretty nice.

We waited in line for about 15-20 minutes, as we arrived quite early. Most people visit based on recommendations, but unfortunately, the menu items we wanted to try were not available, even though it was around 11:00 AM. It's a bit disappointing. The interior space is relatively small, which is typical for Japan. The dishes are all very appetizing and delicious, especially the eel. I highly recommend stopping by if you get the chance to visit. It's definitely worth a try!

A popular restaurant to have some good sushi. Waited for 20 mins on a runny evening. The queue would probably be longer on a good weather evening. Lots of options, and the sushi on the conveyor belt were pretty to look. Service was good and efficient.

I arrived around 11 a.m. and there was a line of 14 people ahead of me. The wait time was approximately 30 minutes before my partner and I were seated. Once seated, we used a tablet to place our orders. You can also grab plates off the conveyer belt as its part of their system. This restaurant is very small, but it has a nice vibe. Unfortunately, I found the sushi to be overhyped and mediocre. The quality did not live up to the hype and was not worth the time or money spent.
