Outstanding food and service at this very cool rooftop eatery. Great for anytime of year and the food is some of the best of not the best you will ever have in Mystic. So, come enjoy and do not miss out! I had the mushroom tart, butternut squash soup, charcuterie platter, tuna nicoise and a delish blood orange drink. Everything was amazing!!

Cute spot in mystic with good food and staff! Definitely a good spot for a date night or gno! I ordered the gnocchi for $28 it was a good portion size as well!

Since we had a fantastic experience at Mix on a previous trip to Mystic, my husband and I knew we had to return when we were in the area again. Mix Restaurant & Rooftop Bar does not disappoint! We love that they offer a really creative menu - everything is locally sourced and incredibly fresh. The crispy pork ribs were addictive, the squash soup with apple salad hit the mark as a seasonal combo, and the grilled swordfish was cooked perfectly. You truly can’t go wrong with any of Adam’s desserts but no matter how full you are, you’ll make room for an Adam T. Young bonbon - they’re irresistible! With a really inviting atmosphere and attentive service, this is the perfect spot for date nights, celebrations, or catching up with friends. Already planning our next visit!

This was our first time to the restaurant and we will definitely be back! Everything was exceptional! This was the perfect anniversary dinner spot and we can’t wait to be back when the weather is warmer so we can enjoy the outside vibe. Thank you for a truly lovely evening. I wish I could remember our server’s name! We came for a 7 pm reservation on Saturday, Nov 15. The young woman we had was AWESOME!!! So friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, just amazing!!

Mix is a standout in Mystic and a true hidden gem. Chef Oliva delivers consistently exceptional food—beautifully executed, and full of flavor. The menu keeps me coming back—there are so many dishes I still want to try. I can’t recommend it enough. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out!

Had an excellent dinner at Mix last night with friends. Cocktails were inspired and yummy and food was excellent. I loved the scallops and my husband said the pork 2 ways was one of the best meals he's had in a while. Desserts were, of course, artfully presented and just as delicious as they were beautiful. We weren't rushed out, and the ambiance can't be beat! We'll be back.

We celebrated my birthday this past Saturday at Mix. And may I just say it was the most memorable experience ever. The food was exquisite. The presentation was just divine and the service was absolutely amazing. Britney made us feel like we were family and of course Adam was outstanding with all the care and effort that went into our dinner and my most beautiful cake. It was an experience that I will treasure it forever. In fact, I can’t wait to come back down again, thank you. Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

Mix was a wonderful choice for the 4th of July dinner. The upper seating area is new and open. Service was friendly and responsive and the food was above and beyond. The bread basket starter had a wonderful assortment of goodies featuring a nice balance of salty and savory options. The lobster with gnocchi was also a delight. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!

This place is a favorite of ours and we travel from over an hour away a few times a year to enjoy dinner or their Sunday brunch so well worth the drive! The roof top is so comfortable no matter the weather, great views, clean and so inviting. My husband and I came for my birthday and a night with now kids so we really treated ourselves with offerings. I'm not always a fan of oysters but these were amazing with thru accomplishments. Had to get my beet and goat cheese appetizer which they had added back to the menu (thank goodness) and we shared eat entree and they were both amazing! Can't wait to return to try a new menu.

We love to stop into Mix especially for their happy hour. We always get the amazing Crispy Pork Ribs and the Hazelnut Crusted Goat Cheese Fritters. The drinks are always made with fresh ingredients. Brittany, Rebecca, Isabell & Mark are all friendly and make a great drink! The atmosphere is open and airy, even in the winter where you can look over Mystic by the fire table and comfy chairs!

Mix at sift is such a good experience. Vibes are high and food is fresh and delicious. Brittany is there and makes sure everything runs smooth and is a positive experience for everyone! The views are amazing. We had dinner there last night with no complaints. I'm a sucker for a short rib dish and it definitely delivers. I went back for brunch and omg so good. You can order a la carte or utilize the buffet. Both choices are a great one.

This visit has been a long time coming. I love Mystic and I love Sift, so hitting up Mix Rooftop was high on my list. We got there around 3:30, so all they offered was drinks and the small plate options. I would have loved to try one of the large plate offerings, but we shared a bunch of small plates and were super happy with what we had. We had three orders of the Crispy Pork Ribs, mostly because they were FANTASTIC! The Saki Soy Glaze was out of sight! These were both crispy and pull off the bone tender. The pickled ginger and candied chilis were a great compliment and the peanuts gave it a nice additional crunch. The Ousters were excellent. Good flavored Oysters with the lemon granita and champagne foam were and excellent accompaniment. The Beef Carpaccio was outstanding. Great flavorless on the beef, the mix on top was a good addition and the bread was insanely flavorful, not a surprise. I really liked the Seacoast Mushroom Tart as well. Great flavor on the mushrooms and the ricotta really added to the overall taste of the dish. The Pork Belly Jerky was probably my least favorite, only because something has to be at the back of the pack. It too was tasty and both sauces it came with were great. The drinks were a hit, but so outweighed by the excellent food! This is a must visit!

One of my all-time favorite spots in all of CT. First time attending for brunch and must admit it was one of the best brunch experiences I've ever had. Brunch with a spectacular view. Take in the panoramic views of the Mystic River while Enjoying decedent & eclectic cuisine crafted by the amazing team at Mix Rooftop. Their signature brunch series offer mimosas & speciality cocktails, locally sourced raw bar, and the most luscious pastries & breads provided by Sift. Enjoy a la carte options & a full brunch buffet with so many options that are bound to satisfy any/all pallets. Impeccable service, extremely attentive staff and overall a marvelous Sunday brunch experience. Mix Rooftop has certainly left us hungry for much more. Simply cannot wait to return.

What a great spot! Both food and service were awesome! The manager was attentive and you can tell she enjoys what she does. We sat by the fire which kept us nice and warm for the evening. To drink I tried the mint to be, it was light and refreshing. Also had the espresso martini which was also pretty good. For an appetizer we ordered the crispy pork ribs. A little fatty for my liking but the flavor of the sauce was delicious. For my entree I had the half chicken. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The chicken was tender. The plate set up and pairing was unique in a good way. Also liked the croquette. I got to try the short rib rigatoni which I could not stop eating. For dessert we got to try the sampler. Had a bit of everything although ice cream by the fire didn't go too well, a bit messy as you could imagine. I like the atmosphere and vibe of the place. Although it is called a rooftop there is a roof so you can still go rain or shine. I would definitely come back here!

I don't usually like trendy looking restaurants, I've had many experiences where I have been underwhelmed. So when my wife wanted to stop in Mix I was skeptical. Honestly I was so pleasantly surprised. We were there for happy hour and the drinks and food were both great. Absolutely loved the ribs. Service was great too. We will definitely be back again.

So we've been calling this "the awesome rooftop bar above Sift" and just learned its real name is MIX! So couple outstanding atmosphere, great food and an incredible bar and staff. I hesitate to give this review as it might break open a best kept secret, but this place is too good NOT to be solidly on the Mystic map! Our server tonight took time to PERSONALLY make me a latte when I said I had designated driver duty. Thanks Michaela

Words cannot describe how delightful each dish was. Such well balanced and complex flavors, even with the items not being particularly lean each dish still felt light and kept us wanting more. Adam was in and chatting with some patrons, you can tell he's great to work with and cares deeply about customers' experiences just by the conversations he was having with his staff. He gifted a signed copy of the Sift cookbook to some others at the bar and gave us a box of his bonbons. Honestly, I wish we recorded our reactions because never before have I shared an entire box of chocolates in one sitting and still wanted more. I'm endlessly impressed with Adam Young's skill and the team he has curated in Mystic. Chef Olivia Morey is equally impressive and I can safely say I will follow her on her future ventures. We ended up using some drink coupons at their newest venture Bar & Bonbons across the way and I regret nothing. What a brilliant introduction to ATY hospitality.

Stopped over for happy hour and we were impressed. They made us very tart virgin margaritas. The potato soup came with fries and fried onions. It was delicious. We also really enjoyed the fritters. Highly recommend the small plates and the service was excellent.

We took our boat to Mystic for the labor day weekend. After spending the better part of Saturday afternoon browsing the downtown shops, we were in the mood for a quick snack and a drink. My wife suggested we try Mix. We are familiar with the bakery downstairs, one of our go to places in Mystic, but we hadn't been upstairs for a couple years. The space has been completely renovated and it's beautiful. The veiw now is wonderful. Even though it's open air,the new roof provides plenty of cover from strong sun or rain. There is an open kitchen, bar and plenty of seating at tables or along the railing . We chose seats at the railing to take advantage of the views and the great weather. You can see part of the Mystic River and what used to be the seaport marina which burnt down and is currently just open space. Having arrived at 330, we were limited to what we could order. We came during the bar and bites time. The bar is fully open but the kitchen only serves its small bites. We chose 2 of the lobster toasts and 2 of the beef tartar. Both we delicious. We also choose a specialty cocktail from the menu called death of a strawberry. It was equally delicious and surprisingly not super sweet. The service was prompt,friendly and very professional. We relaxed,enjoyed our quick bites and drinks and feeling refreshed, got back to sightseeing.

Disappointing, was a great place to go. Who serves premixed cocktails with basic ingredients? The cocktails used to be amazing here but I would buy their mixes at the liquor store. You can tell they lost there way and don't care anymore

The food was terrible Each dish was piled high with "greens", dandelions? Awful. Why cover everything with a pile of greens??? Pasta was so over cooked it was mushy! Just awful. Never going back

Absolutely SPECTACULAR! Would give 15 stars if I could. Best meal my husband and I have had in a long long time!

Went Saturday night party with a party 10 to celebrate my son's engagement to his future bride. The manager sent over Perseco for the table which was very nice. Ordered apps for the table 2 of each, crispy ribs, beef carpaccio, hazel nut goat cheese fritters and shellfish mosaic. The presentation of the apps was beautifully done, fresh and seasoned perfectly. Oh I forgot to mention the bread was to die for. For entrees we ordered the ribeye which was cooked and seasoned perfectly the smoked duchess potatoes were the best I ever had, creamy and seasoned just right. Some folks ordered the A.T.Y burger. The burgers were cooked perfectly and the blend of the ground beef was simply delicious. At the end they gave us a sampler of chocolates that were scrumptious. In the end it was the best dinning experience we've had in yrs! I would highly recommend to everyone.

I love everything Adam Young touches so of course I LOVE Mix-Used to come for drinks, then dinner now brunch! Everything was INSANE-Service great, food amazing, a lot of options to select from. With the rooftop expansion he is now able to be open year round. I will be back soon, very very soon!

Great modern atmosphere. I got the scallops which were awesome. My husband had the steak. It was just ok. Sides were awesome but steak not the best quality. Drinks and dessert were great

We love it here when we came in August. We got 2 appetizers and a few drinks. The octopus is a must try! Loved the vibe and the creative cocktails they had. All the drinks were well made and well balanced. Not cheap for sure but what rooftop type of place is?

Never even thought of going here because I just don't do Mystic in summer. Was invited by friends who eat everywhere and Adam Young definitely shows that he's #1 talent in Mystic, again. Sunday all day brunch was our experience at 5pm. Chocolate martini- awesome Carpaccio- really great. A little too much dressing on the greens. Kinda wet. Goat cheese fritters- light and delicious Mushroom tart- hard to eat but tasty Cherry tart- perfectly sweet. Balanced, as everything I've ever had at Sift. Chai Crème Brûlée- a miss. A touch grainy and too spiced. Texture was off. Pear tart- fantastic in every way. Service- fun and professional Atmosphere- New England Shore chic Applause

This place is off the hook. But what really got me was my waitress. Rebecca. She's with out a doubt one of the best servers you will ever come across across. This was my 2nd time going to this establishment for my sons 14th birthday and as soon as she saw us she greats us from a distance and when she came over she reminded what we had last time we were there. Now that's service. Thank you Rebecca for going above and beyond. Your awesome. And the chef is amazing off the hook creations awesome job. We so enjoy this place. But besides the food and the ambience Rebecca makes it come all together. Thanks Rebecca your service was on point.

I'm truly sad to write this review, as I had such high hopes for Mix after hearing great reviews from others I know that have come here in the past. We had a reservation for 5pm, just my parents and I. We were seated and our waiter came over immediately to ask if we were ready to order cocktails, but we asked if we could have another minute to look over the menu as we just sat down. He walked away...and never came back. We didn't even have water in our glasses, and we let 20 minutes go by as patiently as we could. After looking around for him, he was nowhere to be found, so we flagged down another waitress and were assigned another server. We were later told that he "got sent home", so we're unsure what might've happened there... Regardless, we moved on with placing our orders. While waiting for our food, we were very distracted and honestly a bit alarmed by the giant, and I mean GIANT dragonflies that seemed to not know how to get back outside and were smacking against the plexiglass. I know there's probably not much to be done about that, but it didn't help the ambiance. We also were expecting more of a view and really only saw the parking lot out back. Now, the food: the charcuterie was okay, but everything was a bit oily. The skirt steak tasted burnt on the outside, but the worst dish was the chicken. It was supposed to be fried chicken, but when I picked it up, the breading slid off and was so slimy and greasy. I decided to cut into the breast piece instead hoping the white meat would be better, and taking a bite, I was very unsettled by the texture of a rubbery layer of skin. The meat was not very warm - I'm not sure if the chicken was undercooked or if it was boiled first and then attempted to be fried? Either way, it was unsettling and I only had the one bite. We did express everything to the waitress and manager, who were exceptionally kind and understanding, and they did assist in making it right by taking the cocktails off of the bill. I did just check out some other reviews and didn't realize that they just reopened after being closed for six months, so maybe they're still working out the kinks... Just so disappointed after hearing all the hype and being lovers of Sift Bakery, plus we live an hour and a half away.

Food was presently perfectly and delicious! Drinks were also very good. Service was good but it was busy which is also a good sign!

This place is way over hyped. The rooftop is not high enough to get a good view of the water, and you are mostly looking at a parking lot. It was one of those places that tries too hard to be trendy but misses the mark of being an actual good restaurant. Our server was horrible. It took her 30mins to bring us a bottle of wine and we constantly had to wave her over in order for her to serve us.

Such a great vibe at Mix Rooftop & Bar at Sift. It was a lovely day to catch some sun and a drink in Mystic. Upon arriving, we didn't have a reservation so we grabbed open seats by the fire. The rocking chairs were super fun and we ordered a few drinks. I got the sangria, which was decent. My friend didn't particularly like her drink but she loved her dessert. We chatted with a few other folks who were seated by us and enjoyed ourselves.

This is a cool place to check out for a drink. I am not sure how the food is because we only came to grab a round of drinks after grabbing the famous macaroons from their bakery (Sift) downstairs. They recently renovated the entire rooftop and it's beautiful. It's definitely an elevated space, with an elevated menu for food, and a great drink menu. I personally like how they categorized their drinks by "sweet", "herbacious" and "savory". I decided on the drink "Lavender Haze" to go with my macaroons and it was tangy and delicious. We will certainly be back again to try more food and cocktail options in the future!

Delicious food in a very comfortable atmosphere with exceptional service. Ribs are some of the best we have ever had followed by Short rib rigatoni and seared scallops. Plates were wiped clean. Make sure to reserve your table at this special spot!

What a Mother's Day experience we had. So happy to have mix at sift returning for the season. We were able to enjoy a nice roof top outdoor setting a few times last summer but this year it seems like sift has out done themselves. The new additional staffing seems to be on top of their game and provided an amazing experience. The new beverages on the menu are top notch and very different then you'll get anywhere else. In fact I tried the not so five star...pickle juice ice ‍ I had too!!! They've added some on the house bread tastings and desert samples as well. I recommend going enough to try them all. As for food we had tried several of the items last season so we opted for mushroom tart which was great paired with a local beer by beerd brewing. I would also suggest making a reservation, as this summer is setting up to be insanely busy. Go often and enjoy one of everything!! Cheers

Extremely rude hostess. Not accommodating in the least. Came here a few weeks ago and had the same experience. I thought I would give it another try. I'm local and was excited to bring my friends here for the view. There are plenty of other places that would be happy to have our business.

So far not so good. We were seated at a fire place table for dinner. No one including my petite wife could fit their legs under the table. Had to use the restroom and there is one functional toilet with a line with 9 people in front of me. I had a seafood mosaic appetizer which did not appear to have anything that tasted like or resembled any of the seafood

We had dinner here the other night and it was amazing! We love Mix, now they've added a roof and upstairs kitchen. We had tuna tartar tacos that were the best I've ever had! We can't wait to go back again!

The place is beautiful. But, my wife's food had something in it, that she was allergic to. They do not include all the ingredients on the menu. After that fiasco, my food came out. I ordered the beef dish, medium. It came out ice cold, well done. They did us the courtesy of taking the meal off the bill. But, we will never go back.

Beautiful rooftop bar! The reasoning for my 2 start was that the sun was so strong and not once did they offer to open an umbrella and to get a half filled drink was upsetting! I had the nitrous I took a photo it wasn't touched when I took the photo, it was delicious but half filled! Very disappointing!

I came here with a group of friends on a Saturday night to enjoy some drinks and the nice weather. We made a reservation thank goodness because it was busy! We got seats right around the fire in some rocking chairs and had a great view. They had a decent sized drink menu and prices were reasonable. In cold weather I'd recommend a hot toddy! Our waitress was attentive and nice, overall a nice spot and I'd recommend a visit.

This is our second time dining at Mix rooftop above the wonderful Sift bakery (another review for the bakery to follow) this is a unique little rooftop spot that over looks the water from a distance in historic Mystic. You can stop here for some small plates and cocktails and/or have dinner. The bread basket is always filled with an assortment of fresh, unique breads. We order small plates to share, enough for a few people to pass around and be able to try everything. Then, we have a delicious entree. Everything has been consistently yummy! Staff are very busy, but attentive. I highly recommend reservations. We usually grab dessert in the bakery below at Sift. You can also get dessert upstairs and this time we did and it was consumed to quickly to get pictures. . Dessert is beautifully plated with a multitude of delicious components to each dessert. We had a non traditional Creme brûlée, it was amazing!! We also shared a chocolate mousse dessert that was equally amazing if you love chocolate. They also have some unique and amazing cocktails. Dwayne by strawberry has been one of my favorites thus far. We are big fans of Mix! It is not a inexpensive evening, plan accordingly. We don't get to Mystic often and this is a treat for our family. Can be chilly up there on cooler evenings. They do have a long fire pit with rocking chairs you can sit by and outdoor heaters as well.

My favorite place. Everything here is done impeccably well. There is such an eye toward detail and balance in flavor from drinks, to breads, to accoutrements, to mains and certainly in desserts. I'm continually pleasantly surprised how high the standards are and continue to be. I love trying something new each time we go and know whatever I choose will undoubtedly be outstanding. Just go and treat your self!

This was my first time at this restaurant. Atmosphere was great, however our drinks took 30 minutes to arrive. Staff was friendly. Food was very good but on the expensive side. Not a place to visit is you are starving. The complimentary bread was great. Not sure that I will be back but worth at least a visit.

What an awesome spot in Mystic! We came for 7 pm and the sky was a perfect backdrop to the cozy rooftop tables. The staff was so great (even when we asked for more bread 3 times) they were kind and well informed. The food was very good but I think the best thing about this place is the ambiance. We could stay here all night. Even though we ordered dessert, we still went downstairs to get pastries to go! Can't wait to get back here!

Had Dinner here last night food and drinks were amazing. Great atmosphere! Our server Sharlene was extremely helpful with suggestions and very polite. We will definitely come again.

I haven't had a meal here, but have had drinks during their pre-dinner time window when they allow you to seat yourself and enjoy a sandwich/pastry from their downstairs bakery. They also have a bar during the pre-dinner times. (Before dinner, It's all self-service except the bar.) It's a relaxing space and a great place to take a break during your stroll around Mystic. It has a laid-back atmosphere that includes some rocking chairs and couches along with standard tables and chairs. Despite it being a "rooftop" experience, there's no real view. (It overlooks a parking lot.) But I'd argue you don't always need a view. I was happy to sit back on a couch and have a couple beers. Long story short: It's a good place to have a couple drinks and relax during the day and enjoy being outdoors. The dinner menu didn't excite me so I can't see myself doing dinner there.

The ambience is incredible. Views of Mystic with a fireplace can't be beat. The service was impeccable and wait staff perfect. As a New Englander I sometimes don't stray too much from the normal fare. Thank goodness I did tonight. The food was delicious and different without being too different. Can't wait to go again.

Yummy drinks!! Super super cute rooftop bar more of a high end feel if that makes sense. I wouldn't come here super causal is all I mean. Didn't get food but looked good. They were super busy too so longer waits and less attention if that's what you are looking for

The venue is great. It sits above Sift (one of our favorite bakeries) with a scenic view of the river. The wait staff was friendly and professional. The menu is interesting. We had Steamed Pork Buns, Cheese and Charcuterie and a variety of the specialty cocktails - all good. This is a nice place to meet friend for small plates and drinks on a summer evening.

My friends and I tried going here last night for one of their birthdays. Off the bat, we were given a server who clearly did not want to work that night. We tried ordering drinks and she would not accept our licenses (we are all 22 years old). After a 20 minute intermission, a manager gave them all a thorough inspection and apologized. So on top of the ridiculous price tag on our drinks, we got to waste our time too. They left arithmetic out of the server manual

Very good drinks and appetizers. A little on the expensive side for a casual night out but if you are willing to splurge this is the perfect place! The Arnie Palmer and Reserve Chocolate cocktails were a group favorite. The rooftop itself has a great summer evening atmosphere and the service was excellent. There is a 90 min limit on most tables for COVID but they let us know ahead of time so it was not a surprise.

Nice that you can make a reservation for this cozy rooftop tapas restaurant. The bread is to die for - four types to choose from. Menu is small but it's all excellent. Recommend the cheese plate, goat cheese fritters with beet salad and the mushroom tart. Nice that they give a complimentary dessert sampler. Service was slow but we were relaxed and enjoyed the view. Worth it.

Happened to stumble into this place as we were going to the amazing bakery downstairs called Sift. We ordered a bottle of wine with a view and some delicious octopus. The chef has to be a wizard to make the octopus so tender and flavorful. Tiffany was our bartender who was working her butt off but never faltered from taking care of us and making her yummy concoctions. Kristin the "supervisor" stopped over and she was just an absolute doll. The service and staff were so friendly. We can't wait to come back!!
