Delicious Paninis, Salads, Soups and Flatbread Pizza. Try the Spicy Peanut dressing on your salad. Huge selection of salad dressings.

Google
I wanted a salad today so ordered from Mixed Greens. I ordered the Mexicali Salad It was packaged very well. It came with 2 sauce cups. 1 red, 1 green. I picked the red. It was very spicy. Now I do like spicy dishes, but this left a bit of a burn taste. I should have tried the cups before using them. If you like spicy, and want that in your salad, the red sauce is good. After tasting the green, I think I would have liked it better. I will oder from them again. But next time I will use the green!

Google
I've been coming to this places for years. They are very fast to prepare your salad and the jalapeno ranch dressing is great. My go-to for a healthy lunch.

Tom Mikolinis

Google
Very good portion size and value with the unlimited BYO salad - the white chicken chili today (Fri 5/26) was also phenomenal to pair with the salad. Excited to visit this place more, as I love Just Salad but this is closer, and most salads from JS are too small to fill me up.

Google
Mixed Greens was one of my go-to lunch spots before the pandemic. I'm so glad that they were able to make it through the tough time and are still around now that I'm going back into the office. Everything here has always been so good, and they're very quick, too. I personally like to order ahead so it's always ready when I get there.

Jacey Riggs

Google
Freshest salad and ingredients you’ll find. Quick service and Ritual as well. I usually get the unlimited build your own salad because I can’t decide. The dressings are fresh and hand made. Try the jalapeño ranch as my personal favorite.

Google
Good salads, fresh ingredients, good service.

Google
They have the best salads in the loop and everyone that works here is so nice (and very quick!)

Lorna F.

Yelp
I get lunch from here all the time when I am in the Loop. Mostly, I order ahead and the pick up is very friendly. The food has consistently been fresh and well put together. There is plenty of seating if you don't want to eat at your desk. A good value.

Yelp
Ordered this on Grubhub. I got the Adult Grilled Cheese Panini and a cookie. The panini was really good. I microwaved the cookie and it was great too.

Yelp
AMAZING ! My office wanted to try a new place and glad we chose this. Very easy to order and they packed everything very nicely. Portions were great and the food tasted amazing. Small area, but very clean and would come here again !

Yelp
Great lunch place for fresh salad. I get the 'build your own' with a huge variety of vegie and salad toppings to pick from. Large list of salad dressing options too. Staff is friendly and fast. Food is fresh. This is a top stop for downtown lunch takeout.

Yelp
I frequent this mixed greens location all the time and they are quick, kind and do a great job!

Yelp
TL;DR -tricky to find if you don't know it's there -delish and large salads -Lots of options and build your own -plenty of seating -lunch hours I recently got lunch here with a friend as we both work close to this location. I had been there before and knew the salads were good. When you're trying to find it make sure you go up the small stairs by the pillars to find it. Then downstairs inside. The atmosphere is nice, bright, and fresh. It was very clean and all of the staff were nice. There are a ton of salad options but if you don't like them feel free to build your own! The salads are very large and definitely will fill you up. If you want to change up a salad that is on the list don't be afraid to ask. The staff are wonderful. Great place to grab a quick healthy lunch in the loop. Only downside is $10 is a little much for a salad.
google avatar

Lily Z.

Yelp
I liked that I could customize my vegetarian salad for $7 in the loop. That's kind of hard to do! The location could be better because it's literally in the basement. However service was very friendly and pleasant. I think it would help if they had number cards for people who ordered sandwiches instead of workers walking around asking if it belonged to them?

Yelp
I have to say, I'm not sure what I expected upon ordering a Caesar salad, however I was very surprised to see the amount of salmon I received. The container the Caesar dressing came in was larger than the piece of salmon. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this salad to someone craving a Caesar salad. It's a Caesar salad with a major identity crisis. The tomatoes and cucumber make it more of a house salad on a bed of mix greens and topped with cheese and Caesar dressing. So I'm not really sure if that's what made it famous but again, would not recommend. Overall, I've tried other salads here like the Black n Blue and have been pleased. I think this salad in particular was just a heavy miss.

Yelp
Great salads, very fresh and very friendly service. Price increase has been too much for lunch though - very expensive.

Yelp
I order here frequently for lunch via Ritual and they have never, ever, once gotten my order wrong. Pretty impressive for a "build your own" salad concept where every order is a little different than the next. They can get very busy during the lunch rush so sometimes the line is out the door or your Ritual order is not completed on time....but that is the only one very minor negative I would have of the place. The staff seems to work very hard and they are friendly to boot!

Yelp
Favorite salad place the downtown right now. They've done a GREAT job with a variety of salads and especially the ethnic ones. I think overall the salads just pack great flavor. Blandness there is not. If you add a protein to some of them they go over $10, which is too much in my opinion, but it's optional. Mexicali - my favorite one. It's got some great flavor to it. Also loved it with tofu. Delicious dressing. Orient - Another great choice. Feels like you're having it at as Asian place. Love the crispy noodles they top it with. Guac - I forget what this is called exactly, but it's really good. Flavor of guac comes through great. I did try this warm goat cheese one today and it was OK. A little bland for my liking. I think there are a couple more veggie options to try, but the first 3 are just awesome. I don't have to even think twice. Maybe there's like too much dressing and that's why they taste so good. Idk, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
google avatar

Emily Z.

Yelp
Loved the mexicali salad with steak, lots of ingredients and the dressing was amazing! Salad was $6.95 + 2 for protein, great value! Cute little 4 table patio out front if you'd like to soak up as much summer sun as possible! I will definitely be back!

Yelp
My favorite salad joint has moved around the corner to the old Goodwins basement-like space on 175 N Franklin. I was excited to find out they were still in the area as I find most of the joints that serve salad pretty weak. They setup is a little bit more lit than what Goodwins had. They pretty much have the same salads as they did in the old place in addition to their normal build your own salad setup. The Iittle Italy is still my go to as its always been my favorite. I love the cherry tomatoes, red peppers, tortellini and lettuce along with a little hot giardiniera with the dressing mixed within and no meat. Line goes by pretty fast so don't get discouraged when you walk downstairs. Great lunch/salad joint with great options

Yelp
Major Mixed Greens fan! I've been stopping in here for lunch or ordering a BYO salad ahead of time via the app Ritual for years. Conveniently located in the loop, a quick walk from River North/ surrounding downtown office areas. Even when MG's been "crowded" the line is never overwhelmingly long. They move fast, and have the system down. Similar to chipotle. Only thing that they could provide more of is the salmon/chicken, they kind of skimp you on it, but I never pay over $12 for a salad, so it's a great bargain!
google avatar

Mrunmayi D.

Yelp
I ordered the farmhouse panini and it was great! But my colleague got his order wrong! He ordered a bbq chicken pizza but got something with artichokes an no chicken!

Leang E.

Yelp
My cousin and I met here for lunch during our work day as we were opting for something we thought could be more healthy for us. I got the Buffalo Chicken salad and this really was very delicious. The prices were reasonable and the service was relatively quick. My only complaint might be that I could have had a bit larger portion.
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
My absolute go-to spot in the Loop for salads. All the ingredients are fresh, the service is amazing, and I can't find a salad in Chicago with better taste. I work in the Loop and am literally here at least twice per week. I recommend avoiding 12-12:30 rush, it can get pretty busy. Obviously for a good reason! I live in Lincoln Park and am hopeful this chain expands further around Chicago!

Yelp
The food is good, the service is H O R R I B L E. hey had a sign with chalk on it against a wall along side the line everyone waits. 25 people in line, all with chalk on them. People in suits and dresses, myself included. When we told them that all of us had chalk, they blamed everyone in line. They blamed the customers in line for not seeing that it was a chalk on a wall. Wow. That alone should have let me know the service was bad. I usually get edamame with my salad. On the day I went, I noticed that the edamame looked like lima beans. He said it was edamame, so I got it...they were lima beans. Either this guy lied because he wanted to usher me through fast or they ran out and, well, lied about it. Lastly, 4 of us had to wait while the cashier left. No, 'I'll be right back' or 'excuse me', he just left and didn't return for 3 minutes. 4 of us holding our salads, just staring at a manless cash resister, confused. No apology or thanks for waiting when he returned, he just casually told me my bill total. I usually tell clients and friends to meet me there. I am now going to advise against it and find a new place.

Yelp
I really want to give this place more stars because it's my go to lunch place (I'd say I eat there 3 times a week). Really extensive selection for "build your own salad". It used to be under $10 for me to get a salad with meat but I think they raised their prices and so now it's just slightly over. My issue is that the service is kind of inconsistent. I only ever order via Ritual so maybe that's why I run into problems. But pretty often I have ingredients left out or my salad isn't chopped when I've requested. I've never stood in line and had it made in front of me, so maybe this is not true if you order in person. And if you order avocado on your salad via Ritual that will NEVER be included, although Ritual usually handles the issue and just refunds me the upcharge. That being said, I still usually pick here over anywhere else. I went 4 stars instead of 3 because the pita bread is amazing and they'll give you two pieces of you ask at the register without charging you.

L L.

Yelp
I got the Tuna sashimi salad and the tuna was not fresh, it tasted like it's been sitting in the freezer for a long long time and it has that really bad fishy smell/taste

Yelp
How does this place have only one review!? My co-worker told me about this great local salad place, and I thought she was taking me to an underground rave when we went down these stairs to the basement of the building. This is a great hidden gem of a salad bar. They have a make your own salad option that's not based on weight! If you're like me, and you're not sure what to add to your salad, I recommend the warm goat cheese salad. It's incredible! Also, they have a great bunch card where you get your 11th salad on the house. Don't forget your punch card!
google avatar

Sasha C.

Yelp
Not not my soup option going forward, I bought chicken noodle soup here and you were served 'grilled chicken' leftover with over boiled noodles probably from day before

Yelp
This place is not close to my office at all, but I like going here to pick up lunch, which should tell you something. As far as assembly line salads go, Mixed Greens keeps things simple and the ingredients are mostly all top notch. What I appreciate the most is there's nothing overly complicated about pricing. It's one set price for every salad and add $2 for protein. Doesn't matter what it is. You get four ingredients, plus a cheese and plus a "crunch." And they do not skimp you on toppings here. I usually have a pile left in my bowl when i finish my lettuce. They also have all kinds of great dressings to choose from. Most often I order the Parlez Vous Francais or the Mexicali (though you should add avocado to it) and occasionally build my own. There are just countless choices here that if building your own thing overwhelms you, it can be rough, but the line is usually long and gives you plenty of time to overthink your decision. Mixed Greens is best to pick up and go, though this new cellar location has some seating and isn't usually crowded. The service is decent and quick. If it were closer, I would be getting all my salads here to be sure.

Yelp
I thought it was impossible to switch from the adult grilled cheese to the salads but it's possible!! seriously all the salads are amazing and filling! Great lunch spot in the loop!
google avatar

julie q.

Yelp
I'm a be leaf'er. But Mixed Greens is definitely a new contender. My only complaints: Salmon was a bit too fishy Waaaaaay too much dressing (next time, it goes on the side) They only had two people making salads...seems it would be more efficient to have an assembly line. Other than that, the ingredients were fresh, the selection was out of this world, and the price is fantastic. I'll definitely be back to try more.
google avatar

Alfreda D.

Yelp
This is my go to salad spot for lunch. If you get a protein it's basically $10 made to order. I usually mess up salad bars because I want to mix all the things that I like to eat together in the same bowl when perhaps the flavor profiles don't actually work well together. The good thing is that there are options on the menu that you can "steal" ideas from or modify to make just right for you. It's taken me a WHILE to get this down, but I've got it now. My only issue with this place is that since it's so convenient to work and tasty and reasonably priced, I could very well eat here 5 times a week for lunch!! I love that they mix everything together including the dressing if you want, so everything is even distributed in the bowl. That really makes a difference for my salad experience. LOL. No seriously. That's important to me. 5 stars!

Hanna E.

Yelp
Mixed Greens is popular at my work so I was excited to try it. They were an hour and a half late delivering it because they lost the order, and it was not good :(. Tuna was barely there, which was fine, because it did not taste fresh. At least the rest was fresh and you get pita. Giving it three stars because of other rave reviews within my office.
google avatar

Jami S.

Yelp
My go-to salad place in the loop, not only because it's across the street from my office, but also it's fantastic!! My absolute fav is the Parlez Vous Francais Salad. It's so good!!! And the portions are big compared to other places. I 100% think it's better than the new trendy salad place, Be leaf. Mixed Greens is a great lunch spot, never too long a line, and reasonably priced.

Michael M.

Yelp
I always got the BLT here most days for lunch. One day I got the same sammy as usual and later that night became SO sick. Horrible dia***ah like a squirting fountain and nauseous all the next morning, and super dehydrated, and horrid stomach pains and sooo queasy. I had to leave work early the next day. I felt like i had a tape worm, or giardia. Even to this day I can now not eat bacon or a BLT. Every time I think of one I wanna barf! :-o Tragic.

Gina M.

Yelp
I don't even make reviews I just look buy this is the best food I've had in such a long time.

Steven G.

Yelp
I have been eating at this restaurant for many years. I may not be the best source of information as I only get one of their items but I am always happy that I choose to get my lunch here. They make many items but I get one of the fresh salads. They have a great selection of veggies to put into a custom salad and choices of protein to add. I get the Mexicali with chicken and love it. The people that work there are super nice and I really suggest you give it a try. It is a great bargain considering how much good stuff you get in the salad and what a healthy choice it is.

Asia L.

Yelp
Hi, I was at Mixed Greens today (4/2) at like 12:30pm. The ahi tuna smelled really bad and I couldn't eat it. I did actually eat a few pieces and feel really sick now. Now I am starving because I couldn't eat. The whole salad smelled like bad tuna. I eat raw and seared sashimi/tuna all the time. And I can tell when it's going bad.. I'm SUPER dissapointed and hungry. And sad. My bill today was like $18 because I also got kombucha. Please advise.
google avatar

Shmoop M.

Yelp
I love this place! I have only had the salads- but they are fresh and a good portion! I don't even get the meat, and it fills me up. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because you can't read the menu until it's your time to order so you feel extremely rushed. Especially if you are there during their busy lunch hour. So I would recommend looking up their menu before going if it is your first time!
google avatar

Bridgette H.

Yelp
Just tried this salad place for the first time for lunch today and I will have to say i was pleasantly surprised. The location that is down the street from my office is fairly new so I hadn't had a chance to try it before now. The location is cute, you have to go down one set of stairs and you will find it in a small little area. I love the unlimited salad options....you read right unlimited options for only $9.95 + $2 if you add a protein. They have over 20 items to choose from and it was hard to decided so I just added a bunch of random ingredients lol. I added chicken for my protein. This is now my favorite salad spot and i WILL be back!

Michael A.

Yelp
This place makes a decent salad but there have been a couple changes lately that were for the worse. They used to have two kinds of chicken: a standard cubed kind that is kind of basic, and a great chicken breast sliced into thin strips that had a more flavorful seasoning and went into salads like the MG Guacamole Greens salad. Last couple times I've been there it's just been the plain cubed chicken for everything, which is disappointing because the other kind was so good. Second, their char grilled corn used to be amazing and I would get certain salads just because they included it. The corn often had black grill marks on it and the kernels stuck together like they had been taken off the cob by hand. It was amazing. Lately, the corn they are using is much more like canned corn, all loose kernels and kind of sad looking. Still an OK place, but this review would have been 5 stars if it weren't for these changes I've noticed.

M D.

Yelp
This place should get zero stars 2 hours late on delivery and wrong food delivered STAY AWAY form this place unless you are on a no food diet. to many other excellent restaurants in the Loop for lunch to waste your time with this place .
google avatar

Jeff L.

Yelp
Awesome place to grab a quick lunch! I usually get the veggie panini and it is very good.
google avatar

Versie W.

Yelp
This place has very good salads and paninis HOWEVER, the customer service is the worst. When you go down into the store everyone looks at you as if your foreign and then the young woman at the cash register is the worst by far. She had no sense of customer service or how to talk to people. Today I went in on my lunch today and I got their $6 butternut squash soup. And when I tasted it it was so sweet I thought it was yams on thanksgiving. So I called her and asked if there's sugar in the soup because I taste it through out the soup and it's hard to eat. She chuckled and said "okay, what do you want me to do about it.... We don't put sugar in our soup..... what do you want..." I was silenced because she thought this was funny. Clearly she didn't know what they put in the soup because she didn't sound sure of herself and almost like she was making it up as she went along; and yet this is supposed to be a health conscious place. I will never return until something is done about her attitude. Very disappointed

Rachel S.

Yelp
I love Mixed Greens! I've been coming here off/on for a couple years now. The staff is nice, they move the line pretty quickly and the ingredients are fresh. They used to do a punch card which they've since discontinued but that really is my only complaint about this place!!
google avatar

J M.

Yelp
Located in the garden level, this funky little place puts together some great eats. I LOVE the Black and Blue salad with steak, blue cheese, tomatoes, grilled onions and croutons. It's filling and tasty every single time I order it. I work up the street and visit more than occasionally. This visit my friend got the Grown Up Grilled Cheese and said it was amazing. If it tastes as good as it looks, I believe it was. The menu boasts several specialty salads or a build your own. They also offer pizza, soup and other sandwiches. Many tables inside and, for warmer days, a street side patio, offer plenty of seating.
google avatar

Alex R.

Yelp
Good salad spot for lunch. I've had 3-4 of them and have liked all. However, pricing at this location is a bit confusing - there's a 6.50-8.50 range for about 8 of the salads, and be clear that it does not include protein. So, I ordered something in that range with meat, and it came to ~12 with everything in it. Was a good salad? Absolutely. But the pricing seems purposely deceiving.

Joe K.

Yelp
Great healthy option for salads and wraps. Staff is great and food is always delicious

Emmy P.

Yelp
I have always loved Mixed Greens but unfortunately they raised their prices this past Monday (6/5/19)! There is just no way to justify a $13 salad for lunch :( This price change makes Mixed Greens now one of the most expensive options for quick lunches in the Loop. I'm sad to say they've lost my business

Jessica L.

Yelp
I love this place and it's my absolute go-to when I'm in the mood for a salad, despite many other salad options around. My usual salad of choice is the Cobb with grilled chicken. It's delicious. I also LOVE their cookies and literally have an internal battle to get one (or not) every time I'm at the register to pay. (I usually do end up getting one). So, yes, for the most part everything here is all good when I stick to my regular order. One day, however, I decided to branch out and get the Famous Salmon Caesar salad--HUGE mistake! To my surprise, I had the tiniest chunk of salmon included with my salad (and they'd forgotten to give me my dressing on the side). I was already back at my office and too hungry to return. Needless to say that soured me on the restaurant for a while. I just wanted to give some input that if ever ordering from here--avoid salad with salmon no matter how tempting!

Matt F.

Yelp
Great salads, fresh ingredients and plenty of options. Personal favorite is the Buffalo Blue Chicken salad, but they have a great variety of signature salads, as well as a full range of ingredients for the make-your-own option. I also tried one of the paninis and really liked it. The line can be overwhelming during busy periods, but they move through it in a very efficient manner, so don't be scared away.

Renee A.

Yelp
Really great Beet and Goat cheese salad. Fast service, very clean!
google avatar

Seth F.

Yelp
Best salads in the loop. I went to their old location all the time but like this spot even better. The entire staff is so nice, food is so fresh and love that they butcher all their own meats, cook chop & prep all their other ingredients in house. These freaks are even cutting fresh corn off the cob and roasting their own beets. Way above anything you'd expect at a quick casual joint. I heard all the owners are all ex fine dining chefs which would make sense. Fast, friendly, delicious and they treat you like family every time. Great work MG.

Megan L.

Yelp
Best salad place in Chicago. It's as close as you can get to NYC salad places, which are top-notch. But without the Snapple!

Alexander K.

Yelp
Came in after the rush and the woman (who was very friendly while taking my order) let out a be open cough while making my salad, smiled, then turned to her friend and laughed. It was grandiose enough to seem very intentional. Afterwards her co-worker friend looked at me with a guilty face and then quickly looked away. Not sure what I had done to cause this other than asking for dressing on the side this time. I loved this place but can't deal with the sudden lack of respect. I didn't deserve that and the fact this woman thinks it's OK to treat anyone that way makes me angry.
