I usually enjoy supporting local coffee shops, but unfortunately, my experience here was disappointing. The barista was noticeably rude and dismissive from the moment I approached the counter. I understand busy days can be stressful, but basic courtesy shouldn’t be too much to ask. A simple greeting or even a neutral tone would’ve gone a long way. Hopefully, management can address this and work on improving customer service, it really affects the whole atmosphere of the place.

Google
This has been my go-to spot since moving to Bushwick, until now. Went today to grab a latte and was overcharged by 1.50 (which happens, and was not a big deal). I politely asked for a correction, and the barista (without acknowledging me or saying a word) fixed the price but then gave me a latte that was barely more than 2/3rds full. She then promptly left the counter before I had a chance to say anything. As someone who worked in the service industry for several years, I get how much BS you have to deal with and that annoying customers are the worst. But from start to finish, this was one of the more disrespectful encounters I’ve experienced, and makes me unlikely to come back despite the delicious coffee (and the other barista, who is wonderful!).

The tall woman with glasses helping me today really needs to improve her customer service. I've been to this location a place and have never been met with such disrespect and I will most likely never spend a single dollar here again. Upon arrival, I asked if the cold brew was already cold and her response was "its sitting out". I them asked for a cold brew coffee with "less ice", she proceeded to give me half a cup of cold brew with a large scoop of ice. After regretfully even tipping the young lady, I asked if she could at least top my coffee off to the top as there was about an inch left of space in the cup. She then said "so you wanted a large cold brew then?" And I told her I was not aware there were different size options and asked for a bit more cold brew in the cup which she abruptlyansweredthat she cannot. During the entire interaction she just seemed bothered by my presence and must have been having a bad day but I refuse to spend my hard earned money where I am not appreciated and will stick to nearby coffee shops that treat me with dignity. Just thought the manager/owner would like to know..

Google
the coffee is both excellent and reasonably priced. the staff seems very cool yet professional. hidden gem of bushwick, highly recommended.

It’s years later and I’m back living next to my favorite coffee spot with the best coffee and my absolute favorite breakfast sandwich. If you are wanting a nice shot of espresso - ask what’s in the hopper and make it to stay.

Google
Best place around to grab a coffee and yummy sandwich. Great staff all around! Now offering decaf which is nice.

Google
The coffee is amazing, some of the baristas are next level rude. don’t work in the service industry if you can’t show people basic human respect.

Doraemon

Google
A tiny to-go coffee bar with solid coffee beans roasted in Brooklyn. It also offer a few bar stools for chilling-out. Some choices of pastries and sandwiches to go with coffee. Like the blue-themed mural.

Yelp
Service was friendly and fast. Very solid breakfast sandwich! Got it with mayo, ketchup and hot sauce. I wish the eggs were salted a little strongly but just a personal choice. Will be coming again!

Yelp
never order viet coffee at a non viet coffee shop lol coffee tasted bad AND it took so long to come out the worker was a bit rude, ill cut her some slack bc there was suddenly a long line but could be handled better this seems to be a popular spot so maybe i just ordered the wrong thing but definitely do not order the viet coffee bc there was nothing viet about this coffee

Yelp
Mixtape! Home of the best bagels and coffee in bushwick and SUCH a vibe! I live a few blocks from Mixtape and am a frequent flier, so to speak. Their bagels come from Bagelsmith. It's like a cheat code to getting some of the best bagels in the city blocks from my home. But on top of that their sandwiches are just so damn good. I LOVE their breakfast sandwich which comes with eggs fried right in front of you with ample butter, some amazing cheddar, avocado, sprouts and tomato. Sometimes I'll also go for an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, egg and cheddar and then put some hot honey on it at home. Immaculate! Mixtape feels like such an authentically Bushwick spot. It's a little stall where you order your food and there's no interior space to sit down. It's quite transient for that reason, but that makes it super cool. I tend to be by far the least cool customer there. Great for grabbing when you're walking your dog. The coffee is strong af and delicious. I've only ever had exceptional service there and am so glad that Mixtape is still thriving!

Yelp
This place has the best coffee in Bushwick. Hole in the wall. Super strong. Their drip coffee is like turbo gas. I'm not a coffee snob at all but I know good coffee at least. I like the mom and pop vibe too. Not pretentious or trying to be something it's not. Just good drinks.

Yelp
Yeahhhh "it was mid lowkey" words that just came out of my mouth recalling the bagel sandwhich, maybe I didn't order anything worthy but I had "breakfast sandwich" which included Eggs, Avocado, Spouts, and hot sauce with no cheese. Didn't taste like much I couldn't have made in my own kitchen, no wow factor. You can't sit anywhere, it's not that kind of place so you really just standing around oh and it's under the bridge so there's ya ambiance, but the server was nice! My friend said she likes bagel itself.

Yelp
This place is great. Just a little walk-up window, no inside or outside seating. But it's a great stop on the way to the L. They're so quick and always bringing good energy. Easy to order online for pickup, and it's almost always ready within 10-15 minutes. One of the few places in town I'm able to get a chaga latte. Picnic Bagel: 5/5 Cream cheese to filling ratio is always on point. Fresh cucumber, avocado, sprouts, and tomato... Chef's kiss. You can also order a vegan version, which is appreciated for my vegans. Coffee: 5/5 They know how to brew a strong and flavorful cup of coffee. Oat milk latte with chaga is the go-to. If you're a frappacino with extra sugar kind of coffee enthusiast, this may not be your place. But if you enjoy a real bold coffee, Mixtape is it. At the end of the day, the service really makes this place a 10. Even if they have an off day, everyone is so damn kind, I will always return.

Yelp
Bagel Sammy was fire. Counter guy was cute. Coffee was strong. Nothing else needed here.

Yelp
in shock i've tried every coffee place in the area and this is by far the best one (only caveat is why do they charge extra for ice ... ice is water...) but def recommend!

Yelp
As most of you know, I am always of the look out for delicious coffee! And when I want coffee I sometimes want a little treat. And who isn't a sucker for atmosphere? I have been roaming the streets of Bushwick in hopes of a good little spot to chill at. This weekend I found a great little outdoor coffee shop that was the bee's knees! Drum roll please....the coffee shop is Mixtape! I know, the name alone draws you in. Mixtapes are the sign of friendship and love in the nineties! Only an older individual would know the importance of a mixtape. How important for each song to hold hand in hand and lead into each other. I still have some of my favorite mixtapes. Back to the coffee shop...they have tons of tapes...I didn't see mixtapes though. I did spot Ovenly cookies! I was quick to order the granola cookie. The iced coffee was delicious and they even poured the soy milk in for me. I met Gavin and Hannah while I sat on the outside seating area. They were both super sweet. I was informed that the bagels came from "BagelSmith". I will have to make a trek for a bagel soon. One could easily tell that this place knows quality. Gavin even expressed a want to bring in some "Doughnut Plant" doughnuts! Oh yeah! Pleassssseee do! The only time when it got interesting was when the train ran through. It was like the scene in Annie Hall where Woody Allen explains growing up in Coney Island. We had to stop talking and let it run through. But it also made you feel very NY. There are unfortunately no restrooms that I could tell. They do take cards. Mixtape is so pleasant and close to some of my fave bars that I will definitely be returning. They also have Ritual Roasters from San Francisco that is my favorite!

Yelp
So doped in this neighborhood Location: This is my very first time traveling all the way from Manhattan to the center of Brooklyn (location-wise). Compared to other places, this place is well decorated, they have street art painting on the wall, and a doped window for coffee service. I know that they service bay area great coffee brand so i came here a bite. But when i got here, they also have oslo coffee beans.. so i am not sure which coffee bean they used for ice coffee. But their coffee is really tasty!! They front dude who serves coffee is pretty nice and allow me to decide on what coffee I want.. great Comparably pricy coffee based on their location. But I do wanna come since this place is very unique and I do want to spend some time in Bushwick.. an interesting place.

Yelp
I love this place! It's great for a quick cup of coffee and breakfast to go. I have ordered the lox on a bagel and it's delicious. The staff are always friendly and my order is always right. I would highly recommend stopping by while you're in Bushwick!
google avatar

Yelp
Mixtape is a walkup window with quality stuff and good prices. It's called Mixtape because they used to actually sell cassette tapes, but that was always kind of a weird gimmick and I'm glad that they seem to have moved on in life. Just note that there isn't really anyplace to sit. I mean yeah, you could sit at one of their stools, but it's directly underneath a subway track so it's loud as heck and I'm always slightly nervous that a falling piece of metal debris or bird feces will land in my food/drink. Maybe you are braver than I am? You can get a pretty good bagel here and the coffee is a good deal! Definitely cheaper than other comparable places-- probably because they are saving cash on real estate by operating out of a little window. Shorter lines than some other quality bagel purveyors too (ahem, Knockerbocker Bagel). Employees are quite friendly. Go check it out before the entire block gets bulldozed to make room for some kind of hideous condo complex.

Yelp
Mixtape is a cool coffee window in Bushwick. The service is super nice and the food is good. The egg sandwich, which I got on an everything bagel, was real good. It had fresh ingredients: avocado, tomato, and sprouts! The sandwich was filling but not too heavy so it was perfect to start my day. I can't wait to try their cold brew next time! It's the perfect location for swinging by for a quick, high-quality cup of coffee.

Yelp
There are certain places that do some items really well and are so-so with others. This location really gets everything right -bagels with cream cheese, lox, pickled onion, and greens are consistently fresh and a good alternative when I don't feel like walking to my favorite bagel place -black teas run the middle ground of too weak and too bitter, which means even if I leave it for awhile it's still really good -croissant tasted really fresh and was large and fluffy my husband loves their coffee and the service is pretty quick..a nice option for a Bushwick bite
google avatar

Jelita A.

Yelp
Probably the best bagels in Bushwick. I got the Picnic Table on everything and added prosciutto and it was amazing. My boyfriend got the same but added lox instead. I'm not really a huge fan of lox, but their's was very good! Not too smoky, not too fishy, a really good texture. The best part about Mixtape is that they really pack the bagel, but it was so easy and clean to eat. Not a single avocado slipped out the back. AND coffee was also good! A win win for everyone.
google avatar

Liv G.

Yelp
One of the best bagels I've ever had!! Got the veggie one w sprouts tofu cream cheese and avocado and tomato. Might have to drive back up from Philly for it!
google avatar

Yelp
Great spot. Fast friendly service. Had Viet coffee. Perfectly sweet. Prices were fair. Fun to order from a hole in the wall... literally! Would be my go to spot if I lived in the neighbourhood
google avatar

Yelp
Mixtape donates unused breads and bagels to a community refrigerator, but I'd love them even if they didn't! Really really great coffee and friendly service.
google avatar

Yelp
I think this is a very cute spot under the train on Bushwick. The menu options all seem really goo to have for a quick grab and go breakfast. Or even lunch. I decided to go with their Lox on an everything bagel. It was very good. Lox, Pickled onions, arugula, tomatoes and cream cheese. To me thats a perfect combo. I already had water on hand. So i wouldnt know what the drinks were like. But just by looking at them from other customers, they looked very good to try. I will be back. All you do is order and go. Its not an actual cafe. Its on the outside. There are seats if you would like to sit right in front. I do recommend.

Julia T.

Yelp
They practically refuse to make my coffee light and sweet like it's offensive to them. I've given them several chances bc it's such a convenient location for me but they mess it up every time and also mange to make me late for work. I can't think of a reason it should take 10 min to get a cold brew with only one person in line in front of me. I also wouldn't recommend the food unless u like waiting a ridiculously long time for something simple. Staff needs to be trained better to not just cater to the regulars they know by name and move with a little more intention. Good pastries tho I would like to know where they get them from so I can just go there.
google avatar

J Evan M.

Yelp
What can I say other than I love the Redux coffee...and the egg sandwiches. Spent the week in Bushwick visiting and when I got back to California, I ended up having some beans shipped here. Will probably need to do that again since my stash is running low. Great service, nice folks and incredible coffee. Guji Mane FOREVER!

Crystal D.

Yelp
Cant go wrong with the coffee here! Or really anything. They have delicious baked goods and a go to breakfast sando.
google avatar

Cora T.

Yelp
What a terrific find. Wonderful energy across the board. They got a magnificent menu as well. Staff are super welcoming. They're accommodating, well-mannered and always on their game. Overall Mixtape Bushwick is great, with great people, and great vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
New to the area and discovered this nice and unassuming place. Coffee was good and owners are friendly. Will frequent the place for sure. +1 to the macchiato - comes with nice latte art too. Great spot for a morning fix and beat the cold!
google avatar

Michelin F.

Yelp
Great little neighborhood spot serving up delicious, reasonably priced coffee. The first time I went here, I ordered a small coffee, and the woman behind the counter said "$1 please". Which, given that this is NYC, was confusing, so I had to ask again and double-check that the coffee was indeed so cheap. The coffee itself isn't anything to hop on the subway and head over to Bushwick for, but if you're in the area (especially if you're commuting into/out of Myrtle/Wyckoff station on the L/M) stop in. The brewed coffee is light bodied with a bright but not overpowering acidity. Definitely a good way to start the day.
google avatar

Lindsey W.

Yelp
Dear Mixtape, This is my love letter to you. When I am tired and need a little something to get me started, you're there. When I wake up hungover on the weekend and want a delicious bagel, you're there. You're there in the evenings after work for a tea and a snack. Your outdoor window is a bright, shining moment in my day. Never change. Xoxoxoxoxo, Lindsey

Yelp
I love this place. The coffee is great and the price is very reasonable. They have a great location near the subway and attentive staff. I always stop in when I am in that part of Brooklyn. Try it and I suspect it will become part of your routine!

Vladimir P.

Yelp
Oh boy, their bagels stuffed like it's the L at 6 in the evening. Highly recommend (the bagels).

Natalia S.

Yelp
I personally LOVE this spot. It's so convenient! I got a everything bagel with vegan cream cheese. It's honestly soooo easy and just great when you're on the go. The prices are perfect, I have nothing bad to say about this place.
google avatar

Psoma C.

Yelp
Undoubtedly one of the nicest additions to the neighborhood. The people who work there are like coffee bartenders. They are great conversation people and will give you free refills if you frequent the spot asa sit an drink your coffee customer. I highly recommend there bagels and the jive turkey sandwich is delish. Their employer Jordan is special.
google avatar

Nick S.

Yelp
I love Mixtape! They use Oslo beans and have the best iced lattes in damn near any borough. I'd literally miss an L train to Manhattan to go here. The baristas are cool and friendly if you're up for a chat, and they've got solid cold brew if you have a lifelong vendetta against milk.
google avatar

Mats B.

Yelp
Cant give this place anything else than 5. Beautiful interior, good daylight, good music, amazing sound, good vibe and not crazy crowded.
google avatar

Yelp
I think the lox bagel wasn't as good as expected ! A little pricey too for what you spreading!

Yelp
Great egg and cheese bagel and friendly staff - even during quarantine. Make sure you get the everything bagel, I am not sure where it is from but it's one of the better everything bagels I have had.
google avatar

Gabriel B.

Yelp
My neighborhood go-to. The breakfast sandwich is great and ten times out of ten it's the perfect place for spotting dogs. One time a woman working the register asked me what animal was depicted on my beanie and I told her it was an otter. Alas, it wasn't until after I got home that I realized it was a seal.

Judy L.

Yelp
Stopper here on a whim during a cold gloomy day and it warmed my tummy and soul! Beautiful little cup of cappuccino, but the star was their breakfast sandwich. The description "egg, cheese, veggies" was quite lackluster, but the product was shocking. A lightly fried egg, crisp radish sprouts, avocado, and melted cheese. I asked for it on a garlic bagel with a little hot sauce. Simply wonderful. The staff are also very kind. Thank you Mixtape for bringing warmth to my day.
google avatar

Zeyna T.

Yelp
They make the best egg and cheese I've ever had oh my goodness. I think about eating it to help me to get out of bed in the morning. This place is so perfect thank u thank u never change (but if you do change, it should be just to open more locations in Brooklyn )
google avatar

Benjamin D.

Yelp
Edit: Someone from Mixtape has messaged my Yelp account. I received no apology or anything like that; just angry and defensive words explaining to me why they are right and I am wrong. Oh well, even more of a reason to never go back. Can't wait to see the "CLOSED" sign on this place. Very unorganized and way too overpriced for the product and service that is provided. I ordered a sandwich, waited for about 15 minutes before reminding them of my order, they apologized and said they would make it again, and then they promptly forgot my order again. I had to remind them a total of 5 times about my sandwich and when I finally received my sandwich it was not only sloppy, but also it was the wrong sandwich.I've been here many times and have had the same negative experience. I was asked by one of the workers what I was waiting around for right after I had just asked him if they forgot about my order. I've had good sandwiches here before too, but it's way too inconsistent to be my everyday spot. Put a numbers system in place or just take down your customers names so you don't have to ask them 5 times what they ordered. Multiple times this has happened.

Yelp
Just a happy last morning in New York. This place was walking distance from our air bnb and the prices were so reasonable. I LOVED my latte and my fiancé really enjoyed his coffee. We would have tried the bagels but it was cold and we needed to sit somewhere inside. Loved the vibe and the artistic decor on the outside. Mixtape is definitely somewhere I would recommend getting your breakfast in Brooklyn if your on the go. So much better than going to a chain!
google avatar

Vijitha M.

Yelp
Needed something super strong to last me the whole day and the barista recommended "red eye". Now I can't live without it. If you need something to get through the day, this is definitely it! Bagels are amazing as well, super full and def worth the price! Will be going again!
google avatar

Gloria K.

Yelp
I was in dire need of coffee preparing for a long day.. I didn't want Starbucks nor DD, and lucky for me I found mixtape! Mixtape isn't a cafe but a "stand" that sells coffee/tea/breakfast stuff. They don't tax so whatever price is on the menu is the price you pay. I ordered a small cold brew and it was good. They get their coffee from Oslo (yum!) so you know it's pretty good stuff. It wasn't watered down or anything and it probably taste great just straight black but I added cream and it still tasted pretty good. It's very quick and good to last you through the day :)
google avatar

ReviewHaiku F.

Yelp
Oslo coffee? YES Cute and quick little shop with Friendly baristas* *only note is that they make their Vietnamese coffee with cold coffee which is NOT how you do it. Condensed milk does not blend correctly.
google avatar

Katz S.

Yelp
Discovered this hole in the wall coffee place while staying in Bushwick on vacation. Best drip coffee I had in New York (or ever?), tastes perfect without milk or sugar, and all that for 1 dollar. Good bagels and friendly staff, too, plus likable mix of customers and good music. If you have the time and weather permitting (outside seating only), great place to sip your morning brew and watch life on Myrtle Ave. Mixtape, we'll miss you back home in Europeland!
google avatar

Ramon B.

Yelp
Road up to the window to order a cup of coffee. Nice set up,couple of bar stools. They had some new school hip hop playing(Kodak black). The coffee is good so was the pastry. Cool "coffee on the go" location. Only thing I was crazy about was the vivero right across the street, and if you are familiar with them they don't bring a best aroma to the area.
google avatar

Jacob C.

Yelp
Their prosciutto sandwich with an egg added to it will contest as one of the greatest breakfast sandwiches of your life. And of course all their coffee and espresso drinks are delicious and high quality as well.
google avatar

Ragnar E.

Yelp
Dollar coffee. Good coffee too. I am very good with this. Great people. (HOT TIP FOR CUSTOMERS: I know you're feeling lethargic after having to roll over and check your Klout score and then lugging your butt aaaall the way to the laptop to scrawl one vector for that graphic design project your friend is sort of paying you for. I appreciate that you had to walk two blocks to get the coffee and that vegan bran muffin from a couple of days ago can only sustain you so far. But please move aside when you're done ordering and try to remain conscious of the existence of other people in the universe. And just try to retain consciousness in general.)
google avatar

Yelp
So happy this place is right next to my house. Awesome breakfast bagel sandwiches and their matcha latte rules. I love this place!
google avatar

Cat V.

Yelp
First impressions are everything and Mixtape swings the ball out of the park. There aren't a lot of "hipster" modern cafes/coffee vendors that sell coffee for $1 but this place does which wins extra points. The coffee is a medium bold flavor with a smooth finish but their Vietnamese coffee is a little too intense not enough sweetened condensed milk. They also sell pastries like croissants, muffins, and bagels and these awesome egg sandwiches. Definitely get the egg sandwich with hot sauce, its so tasty and reasonably priced. Located two-blocks from Myrtle-Wyckoff subway station bordering Bushwick, Brooklyn and Ridgewood, Queens. Mixtape has some benches to sit on but its a walk up storefront so the sitting is outside. The staff is super chill and quick with service. Whenever I'm taking the L into the city in the AM this is my spot!
