Adorable little coffee and beignet shop on Dauphin (sp?) Street. We went mid-morning on a Wednesday before touring the battleship. Excellent beignets and very good coffee. I tried the seasonal pumpkin spice cream cheese syrup in Columbian decaf. There's a setup explaining the history of Mardi Gras on that street. Definitely walk around afterwards, several interesting murials painted on buildings and two very nice parks nearby. Nice little side trip. We felt extremely safe walking in the area, and it was exceptionally clean, especially since they'd had a festival the night before!

Enjoyed our beignets! We came here specifically because of the good reviews. It was a quiet Saturday afternoon. The shop is rustic and cute. Love the old classic Mobile style. We ordered a dozen to go, with a lemonade and a chocolate milk. They were great fresh and hot, lots of powdered sugar. I also enjoyed my lemonade, my daughter liked her milk. I do wish they had some hot non coffee drinks like teas or even hot chocolate. It seems they only have coffee options if you want a hot drink. They have a large sitting area inside and a smaller section outside. The shop is located in a revitalized area of downtown Mobile. My daughter said it reminded her of NOLA, but cleaner. I will be back for beignets.

We stopped by at mobile on our way, and going here to have a coffee was the best decision!!!! The beignets were amazingggggf absolutely perfect the environment was so welcoming and the story behind the place was touching. I’m going to dedicate a trip just to come back hahahaha would definitely recommend!!!!

Stopped in after the Nutcracker. Waited about 10 minutes for the beignets. After eating them, decided to buy one of their gift baskets that was in display. Asked questions about what my option choices would be (type of flavoring syrup). Person at the register ring me up and I paid. Then they said they would call their manager to find out what DAY it would be ready. Nowhere at the display did it say that you needed to order in advance, nor did the employee say anything about it. It looked like a very simple to assemble gift, so I assumed they would either have some premade or could quickly put the prepackaged items into the basket and wrap it. It didn't have fancy bows, etc. I said wait, I didn't know it would take days. I don't live in Mobile. She called the manager (or someone), who then said it would need to be picked up in the West Mobile location - (what?)! Had her cancel and refund me. They really need to be more clear about this in the future. Otherwise, good experience.

This beignet shop is so cute with a nice and spacious seating area. The cashier was helpful with answering our questions. We ordered 3 beignets and they were delicious! Super light and fluffy with tons of powdered sugar. It was the perfect desert after our heavy meal

This place is amazing! I've had beignets in NOLA before and these are definitely on the same level. There is just something about coffee and beignets that just work haha. Service was fast, and people were nice as well. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this place!

Came to Mo'Bay Beignet as it was recommended by some family in the area. We were able to grab some parking down the street pretty easily for a Saturday night. The inside is very nice and vibrant with a modern rustic interior. The seating is in the front and you order in the back. My boyfriend and I ordered the 3 piece beignet and it was brought to our table when it was ready. The beignets had a hefty sprinkling of powdered sugar as it should and we were ready to dive in!! Upon taking a few bites, we noticed that the beignet tasted fishy? Mind you, they only make beignets here so we were very caught off-guard. Maybe the oil quality or being old or something, but I don't care for fishy beignets. The texture and everything was great, but the fishiness is hard to overlook for me. This place is definitely up and coming and maybe we'll try it again eventually, but big miss for us.

I was visiting family in Mobile. I decided to stop by this place to grab something sweet. I mist say this place did not disappoint!! The beignets are made fresh, and the syrup is also made in-house. I recommend getting the buttercream syrup with it. It's sheer perfection. * Chief kiss*

First Tim trying a beignet and I see the hype!! Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy in the inside. Buttercream dip makes it so perfect. The cinnamon and lemon dip was also so delicious. We initially got minis and went back for more!!

This place was a must stop during my visit to Mobile. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to visit! I loved the ambiance. It had a combined industrial and historic feel. I had beignets in their dining room rather than grab a bag to go. I recommend eating your beignets in the dining room. Try to grab a seat at the front window so you have an opportunity to people watch. Service was good. Staff was friendly when I ordered. Beignets didn't come quickly, of course, as they're made fresh to order. As with any other beignet place, DO NOT wear a black short or any other dark color. You will have very noticeable powder sugar all over you. The beignets here are delicious! They're made from scratch, all day and every day. They have quite a story on how the company was founded. Go to their website and read "The Story of Mo Bay." As you will begin to read, sometimes you have an idea and sometimes an idea has you. I completely agree! I'm also for supporting local businesses so stop by Mo' Bay Beignet if you're ever in Mobile! Enjoy those beignets and watch out for that storm of powder sugar falling from somewhere..... The cutest place, it would be a perfect place to go get an espresso and work if you were in town for business. There are plenty of tables, free WiFi, nice bathrooms, great location (north of all the other businesses) a little bit quieter. The only thing they are missing is an outdoor area. The beignets came out quick and were super yummy! Staff was nice. The whole store of this place is clearly displayed and is fun to read too!

My husband and I stopped in while in town. We ordered some lattes and 3 beignets. I noticed that two beignets on each end were hot, but the one in the middle was not fresh at all. The floors were unusually sticky and it was very hot inside. I know the temperature outside is hot, but it wasn't even pleasant. I just wanted to bring it to your attention.

Was disappointed. Our beignets were under-cooked, one was raw dough inside. My hot chocolate was just a mix with hot water, nothing special at all... tables were all dirty. Just not a good experience at all...

Yummy beignets. Dipping sauces are good but in my opinion the beignets are great by themselves I love that they have dog treats outside the door.

Words cannot express what I think about this place. I thought I had tried beignets in the past but to my surprise whatever that item was I eat truly wasn't a Mobay beignet because as soon as I took a bite I realized this was a cloud from heaven. Oh and you think a plain beignet was amazing! Thank you to the gentleman selling it for offering me to go with the buttercream sauce because wowza that my friends was a Mardi Gras festival with fireworks in my mouth! 2/12/23 Stopped by for authentic beignets after watching the Mardi Gras parade. Storefront is inviting and spacious. Order was made FRESH! Definitely hit the spot!

An enjoyable stop for a quality beignet and coffee. I like the ability to select how much chicory (or none) I want in my coffee. As everyone knows, coffee & chicory go hand-in-hand with beignets. Plenty of on-street parking and easy on/off access to I-10 if driving through Mobile and you're looking for a place to grab a snack and stretch out.

The place has an open and urban-rustic look. You walk into a large open dining area, then follow the sign to order. We were NOT prepared for the size of the beignets. There were 4 of us, so we ordered a dozen. They're HUGE! And SO delicious. But we really didn't need that many. It's one of those excellent mistakes. We just enjoyed more later. The cashier was patient with us. I wish we lived closer, so we could have more!

Worst beignets ever. They have almost no flavor. Coffee was awful and the girl working the kitchen had a look on her face like someone just killed her dog. Awful food, service and ambiance

Came by mid-week while touring the city. Greeted by a very patient employee who helped me figure out our beignet order and coffee orders. We got two orders plus a buttercream dipping sauce (amazing) plus pecan praline iced coffee. Our order was piping hot to where we had to sit and wait for them to cool down while drooling over how good they looked. We were met with a lightly crisp outside with a thick but super fluffy inside that just hit the spot. Coffee was a great addition, even though next time I would go cafe au lait to complement the beignets better.

Fantastic stop when in downtown Mobile! The name says it all, they've got amazing beignets and a few drink options. I love the branding of this spot altogether - clean and modern. They even have some catchy merchandise that I'm still thinking about. The beignets come out fresh so you can enjoy the big fluffy goodness while it's warm. The small order with 3 beignets is plenty to share with a friend. Plan your outfit in advance, you will be covered in powdered sugar since it's piled on high. I didn't think I needed a syrup, but I'm thrilled that I tried the buttercream - a tasty little dipping cup to take these to the next level. The store is light and bright. The counter is in back and there's tons of tables to sit at in the front room. It's cleaned often so don't be afraid to make a little bit of a mess (there's no way not to). Alli was at the counter when we stopped in and was an absolute gem. She walked us through the menu since it was our first time and even stopped by the make sure we were enjoying our visit. She made her way around the dining room and seemed to know everybody by name. One of the kindest and most welcoming people we met on our trip.

Best beignets in the South! I mean that, better than Cafe du Mond in New Orleans, or anywhere else. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Who cares about atmosphere when you're there to scarf heavenly manna. Just wipe down the tables more often, all that powdered sugar gets everywhere.

A little tough, a little chewy. And powered sugar poured over them. Not like NOLA version The young lady at the register was nice and helpful. Bought some of their ground coffee to try at home. The place could have been cleaner. Just some bear tables and chairs and some trash laying around. It was late in the day, but first appearances are important. Interesting reading on the wall on how the owner got started and found her location. Not sure about a return visit. Good luck with your business.

These beignets will rival those you get in New Orleans! The first tray of minis was so delicious and hot, we ordered a second tray and wished we would've had room for more! Coffee was delicious as well! The staff is great and friendly and they work very hard to serve all the beignet lovers in Mobile! Be sure to visit this establishment! You will not be disappointed!

Do you really need to know what a beignet is to enjoy it?!? Absolutely not, but FYI it's simply a french term for "fritters". Embedded in Louisiana French-Creole culture and cuisine during the 18th century, the beignet was popularized most notably by the famous Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. The brainchild of Jaclyn Robinson, a photographer by trade, Mo'Bay Beignet Company was born recently in 2019. With a second location in Auburn, Alabama, MBB takes a simple menu item and excels at making it a star. The beignets are made from scratch daily with an added twist of "syrups". These signature syrups include cinnamon and buttercream served on the side for dipping. They also have "seasonal" raspberry or chocolate syrups. Tonight's special syrup was coconut. Located in historical downtown Mobile right on the corner of Dauphin and South Hamilton St, parking can be a bit of a challenge depending on time and day of the week. What appears to be a converted warehouse with high ceilings and perhaps to match the pounds of confectioner's sugar they use, MBB is painted bright white everywhere. With a simple contemporary style and cute phrases written on the walls, there's even a special sink available for patrons to wash their hands. Unfortunately tonight, the sink was out of order. Upon entering, you walk past the dining area with ample tables and chairs to the back where you que up to place your order. After ordering you may find a seat and someone will bring you your beignets. Their menu is simple. Beignets and coffee. If you're looking for anything more, move on. You can get an order of 3 beignets or a "family pack" of 12. We ordered 2 small orders with no syrups. We only waited about 10 minutes or so before my name was called by the young lady looking for me. If you've ever eaten beignets this way, you'll agree that there's nothing you can do to avoid a mess. If the lower half of your face doesn't look like a bad clown makeup job by the time you have taken a couple of bites, then you are not enjoying yourself. Half the fun of eating beignets this way is making a mess. Hence the readily available sink. The other half is appreciating these wonderful square morsels of delectable goodness that were fried to a perfect golden brown and sprinkled generously with confectioner's sugar. It has been a long time since I enjoyed a good beignet. These were as good as I remember them from Cafe Du Monde or Coffee Call in Baton Rouge. These might have been a little "thicker" than Cafe Du Monde's which are a little lighter and "airier" inside. But the taste of the warm doughy inside coated in confectioner's sugar made raising my a1c a few points worth it! You can't have a beignet without a good Cafe au Lait (French for coffee with milk) and theirs is a blend of chicory with French roasted Guatemalan. They even offer it over ice as a cold brew. We thoroughly enjoyed our dessert here with good friends and the next time we return, I might try their chocolate syrup. Thanks for a trip down memory lane Mo'Bay!

They were nice and friendly. The ambiance wasn't for me. Beignets were good but the powdered sugar was clumpy. I found the beignets at Café du Monde much better and the soft their powdered sugar better.

Service is exceedingly slow. Took about 35 minutes for 2 coffees and a 3 piece beignet. The beignets are good but come with half a pound of powdered sugar there was about 3/4 of an inch of powdered sugar on the bottom of the bag. This was on Mardi Gras so you would think there would be reinforcements. Would not go again.

This is such a cute place. I really expected to love it. It's great to see young people working; however, the young man working the register was not overly friendly or helpful. The beignets came out hot and fresh. They were quite different from the New Orleans beignets. They were actually quite chewy and a dough was tough. Overall, it was not terrible, but a matter of preference. The buttercream sauce was ok but not excellent.

They are right up there with the best beignets I've ever had and so big!! They have certain sauces on different days and I got the buttercream and yummy!! They were hot and delicious!! The service was good but they weren't busy at all. The area is like a small cafeteria but welcoming. We got the beignets to go.

So yummy! I wish there was a bigger menu maybe other than just beignets. I thought the space was a little large for having one item on the menu. I understand it is a beignet shop but still. They had 3 sauces available and I only tried the buttercream. It was pretty good I am just not a big sweet person so I'm not the best to judge the dips! Coffee was on point, have to say that it is better than any Starbucks chain.

I was really excited to stop in and try the Mo'Bay Beignet Company. Street parking was taken up right in front of the restaurant, so I had to park two blocks away and walk, which was a pleasant walk as other people were walking to various restaurants in the area The inside is light and airey with a friendly feel. The register is located in the back area of the restaurant with seating in the front area. I'll definitely visit here again when I'm in town. This was a delicious treat.

These beignets were so warm and fluffy. There is definitely more than enough powder sugar on top and pairs perfectly with one of their syrup flavors. The staff worked quickly and we didn't have to wait long for our order. The inside in very bright and is spacious for larger groups. One thing I loved about this place is if you don't finish your beignets, they have white bags to put your leftovers in to take home.

This was a nice place.. found it on accident. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy the beignets at all.. I'm from New Orleans and was actually driving through Mobile heading from Nola . They smelled burned they weren't but it was just a smell maybe whatever grease they were fried in. They looked real good but they weren't for me, my wife didn't care for them either.

Cute little beignet/coffee shop in downtown mobile. Street parking was ample at 10 am when I went and there was no line. Staff was very sweet and the food came out quick. The beignets were fluffy and fresh and the coffee was delicious. The floor and walls could use a little bit of a wipe down but it honestly added to the grungy downtown feel.

Mo'Bay Beignet is finger licking good! The 8ct mini was the perfect serving for appeasing my sweet tooth and maintaining powder control (iykyk). The seasonal mardi gras cream cheese dip sauce gave a different compliment that you can't get at traditional places like Cafe Du Monde! Finding beignets outside of New Orleans that actually taste good is rare. Sitting on the outside patio felt like going to grandmas house and eating on the porch, it was the perfect ending to my mobile mardi gras trip. Highly Recommend you take a visit if you're in Mobile,AL.

Atmosphere: We loved Mo'bay Beignet's sleek white interior! It had a cute, aesthetically pleasing vibe that was great for pictures. There was also a handwashing station outside of the bathrooms, which was much appreciated given the pandemic. Service: Your food is served to your table if you dine in, and our server was friendly and prompt! We didn't have to wait too long for either our beignets or hot chocolate. Food: We ordered the 3 piece beignets with buttercream and cinnamon syrups, as well as a hot chocolate. Even though there were only 3 beignets, we felt that our order was an appropriate size to share between 2 people. The beignets were about half the size of our faces and were filling, warm, and generously dusted with powdered sugar. At first, we were much bigger supporters of the cinnamon syrup (it tastes like a churro!), but the buttercream definitely grew on us as we ate. The hot chocolate, while hot and promptly served, reminded us of Swiss Miss brand of hot chocolate. Overall: We were so excited to learn that Mobile finally has a specialty beignet place. Mo'bay Beignet Co. is a great addition to downtown Mobile, and we can't wait to be back! We'd love to try their other drinks and seasonal syrups in the future.

This place has a very unique burger, but in the most simple way. They use some kind of a mustard sauce, which normally I am not a fan of but it gave the burger a good tang to it. The fries could not have been any better being crispy on the outside and smooshy on the inside. The beignets were okay, nothing special about them but they were brought out hot and fresh which I loved!

We have heard about this place and have skipped over it because we are not dessert people. Stopped by tonight after dinner, though, and had our taste world rocked! The minis are perfect for dipping, and the buttercream sauce was our favorite. Grab a basket of minis when you are in Mobile!

Delicious and fresh. If you have a sweet tooth and need to have it fixed, head on over to this Beignet spot on Dauphin. Another wonderful addition to my side of town. Downtown to be exact. Don't worry about the line, it moves pretty fast and the wait is worth it. We added the sauces to our experience. Cinnamon and Buttercream. I asked my crew of girls that were with me and they could not decided on which one was better. So we called it a tie. Beautiful Sunday morning start to the day. Go get some for yourself. Ok, Wow! So you're saying that my days of driving to Covington and New Orleans specifically for CDM beignets are over?! I'm GOOD with it! Mo'Bay Beignet Co. earned our trust & respect tonight. They know what they're doing, the beignet recipe is spot on, the sauces (we had the buttercream) they offer compliment nicely (but aren't the star of the show), the cafe au lait is tasty, and their timing is off to a great start with managing the masses! -- they'll need it! I went to the grand opening and Mobile was definitely in the house! They have to have made over 1 million beignets(not an exaggeration) between the hours of 5-9. There was a massive line, that the hubs and got through fairly quickly, and our beignets were hot a ready within minutes. Mo'Bay on behalf of Mobilians everywhere, we're so happy you're here! Note: We visited 3 times in the first week. (Unashamed)

Food is amazing and service is even better! Highly recommend. Make sure to try all of the different dipping sauces, but I will say the cream cheese one is the best.

Stopped n for a sweet treat on our way back home to MS. Sooooo good! Grabbed the buttercream sauce and had a peppermint hot chocolate with our 3 pack. So light and doughy and sugary and now just reviewing these I want to come back and get more!!!
