Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe Opens in South Lake - Eater SF

"Mochiko Mochi Pizza, from the owners of fast-casual sushi chain Sushirrito, opened on the Peninsula at 283 Lorton Avenue in Burlingame, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The restaurant’s “long, thin, rectangular pies are made from a blend of rice flours (meaning it’s gluten-free) and topped with ingredients like pepperoni, soy-braised beef, or chicken karaage with corn and mozzarella." - Lauren Saria

Came here on Sunday for lunch and there were a good group of people here to eat. We only had to wait 20 minutes for the pizza which was not bad, there were 3 tables outside of the store with seating and we were lucky to get a table. Overall, it was a pretty interesting pizza. I love mochi so it was definitely unique to have that same chewiness in the crust of the pizza. I got the spicy pork and curry chicken flavors, and my favorite was the spicy pork. The curry tastes a little bland for me. If you are interested in trying unique pizza I would suggest you try this place at least once, I'll probably come again when they have more flavors.

Small shop with outdoor seating only. We ordered the medium combo (1-2 flavors) and it was around $15-$20 total. It was a 15 minutes wait for a fairly small size (4 slices). The crust is similar to flatbread (it’s thin) but you do taste the mochi texture in the crust. However, the pizza as a whole was subpar. It was salty, the pepperoni didn’t curve up like the marketing. We got half pepperoni and half curry. Curry side wasn’t bad with corn bits but definitely didn’t wow us. What brought the rating down was that I found a hair in my crust; baked in! 🤮 I tried pulling it out but it was stuck in there (photo attached). Overall, price isn’t worth it because of the size, taste, and time it took to make.

Google
If you love mochi, this place is probably for you. The base is chewy like mochi, it’s not bread like at all. I liked the crusty edges l, which gave it a different texture from the center pieces. Flavors are on point. They make it to order so there’s a bit of a wait. It comes out piping hot so watch out for that first bite. You’ll want to share a pizza, slices may look small but are filling.

Wow! We tried the new pizza creation - Mochiko yesterday afternoon and it was delicious! We had a spicy pork topping with cheese. Their mochi crust was the perfect balance of crunch and chewiness. Gluten free is a big plus for me. Owners and staff were really friendly. Definitely recommend! We’ll be back

Google
We had a large 3 style combo pizza. Cheese, Pepperoni, and spicy pork. The flavors were so yummy! The pizza crust was crunch, but also soft/chewy like mochi dough. Was 15 minutes from order to ready to eat. We couldn’t resist and ate it in the car before we got home! Couldn’t resist. The cheese was my favorite. Great flavors of the tomato jam and cheese. Can’t wait to try again!

Google
Excellent blend of mochi and pizza! I wanted to try all the flavors so I got the 3 flavor combo. The dough is super chewy like mochi! I went during the soft opening and the wait for a pizza was about 15 minutes

Google
The pizza is just flat out mediocre. From what I saw, it seems that the crust is premade and simply re-heated when you order. For people who are really into pizza, you know how much of a big deal that is. The crust has a biscuit-like, crunchy texture like a cookie on the outside. The mochi part is barely chewy. Nothing about this pizza stands out. Thoroughly mediocre. It's $15 for 4 thin and tiny slices of pizza. Would much rather spend my money on Golden Boy in San Mateo. Similar prices but just way better in every conceivable way. Cool to try the gimmick out once but will probably never come back for seconds.

Google
Great new and unique pizza place. Peter Yen, of Sushirrito fame, has another hit in his hands. great flavor combinations and the chewy mochi crust is amazing.

Yelp
Placed a pick-up order using their online portal - super easy and convenient. Parking is terrible but there was a small garage 2 blocks away on Highland Ave (free when I went). For $20 the large size is a good deal and can feed 2 people....maybe 3 small people. You can SEE the gooey, chewy mochi crust. I love sweet mochi but honestly don't know if the savory combo works. It's very bizarre. Crust itself is crispy and delicious. Don't know if I'd ever crave it but it's definitely different and worth trying. I had the Pepperoni, Soy-Braised Beef, and Spicy Pork. Spicy Pork was not great. It wasn't spicy at all and I think the spinach & romano made it bitter. Other flavors were fine.

Yelp
Loved our experience at Mochiko Mochi Pizza! I LOVE anything mochi, so I knew I had to try this. My husband and I came on a Saturday for lunch after some shopping around downtown Burlingame. We ordered and our pizzas were done in about 10 minutes. We tried the pepperoni, spicy pork, and braised beef flavors and they were all so good! I loved all the flavor combinations, but the spicy pork was my favorite--the creamy sauce and spicy pork combo was delicious. The mochi crust was everything I expected--crunchy edges and a soft inside! The only thing you should be prepared for is that the crust is denser than your average pizza, aka lots of chewing. But my hubby and I both loved it!

Yelp
3.5 rounded up. We've had this on our list since they first open, and finally got to try them out a few weeks ago. We came in as soon as they opened, ordered from the limited menu (which we appreciated, fewer options usually means things are done well) We ordered a combination pizza, and had to wait about 20 minutes for them to make the order fresh . While the toppings were great, and definitely tasted good, we both agreed that the mochi crust was a little bit too much to make the meal out of. This is something we would serve an appetizer cut into smaller pieces, but was a bit overwhelming on its own. Definitely glad we tried it out, but probably won't be back again soon.

Yelp
The hype for this place was so high, and I was so excited to try something that Sushiritto created. My friend and I tried all their specialty flavors, which might've been our first problem. Eating and trying them all together was very overwhelming and I would've wished to try one of them more basic pizza flavors. there's not much to say about the service you kind of just order wait 10 to 20 minutes come back and you have your pizza ready to go but you can eat it at the outside tables. I will say that I will come back to try more of their basic flavors to give it a second chance. My order: Mochi crust - I agree with all the review saying that the mochi was hard. I personally didn't know what to expect because I've had both crispy mochi and soft ice cream mochi. This is definitely a different experience mochi was hard on the outside, but mochi like in the inside, but not stretchy at all. Curry chicken - This was my favorite, it had a bit of sweetness from the curry sauce to it that worked well with the mochi. Could've worked without the jalapeño and cilantro and maybe the corn if you're not into that, but this was definitely less overwhelming than the others. Spicy pork - The spicy park was very overwhelmingly spiced with powder despite the spice was my second favorite. Soy beef kimchi something (?) - This was definitely my least favorite, because it was kind of smoky tasting, and again very overwhelming.

Yelp
Cool concept but the execution wasn't quite there. We purchased the special, 2 slices of pizza + mozz sticks & a drink for $10. It was a great deal! I thought the mochi crust would be similar to pão de queijo (Brazillian cheese bread) but it had an extremely hard and stale texture. I don't see when I would choose this type of crust over a regular pizza crust. The mozzarella sticks were really yummy though, they had a furikake seasoning on the outside and a great cheese pull.

Yelp
The latest mochi craze? Parking (3/5): Street Parking. Allocate time Ambiance (5/5): It's a small spot with no inside seating, but plenty of outdoor seating. Service (5/5): Minimal interaction but friendly. They reminded us that the pizza tastes best fresh! Food (5/5): We were intrigued but didn't know what we were getting ourselves into. Loved the variety of Asian flavors like Chicken Curry and Kimchi. They also have the option for combos where you can try 1-3 different pizza flavors depending on the size you get. We opted for the Soy Braised Beef, which had a kimchi sauce. The anticipatory 15-minute wait was well worth it when we had the first bite. The pizza was flavorful and balanced, and the dough was crispy yet chewy. After our experience, I'm a huge fan. Can't wait to see more rolled out from Mochiko Mochi Pizza!

Yelp
Ok my review is based on take out, and eaten the next day....BUT I didn't realize there were heating instructions. I did put it in the oven, but yea. maybe it would have been better per the instructions. My sister delivered us some but we were going out to dinner soon, so didn't eat it right away. What a long box lol, the slices were tiny. but with it being mochi. It is pretty darn filling. The thinner slices of pizza, were decent, good. but one of the slices were a little thicker, and it was just too doughy. Bleh. I think I had 3 flavors, pepperoni, spicy pork and a curry. The curry was really MEH. I did not like the flavor. The pepperoni and spicy pork ones were good I guess. Spicy pork was spicy!! They weren't memorable and I would only probably get it one more time in person, so I can say I had it fresh. This is one of those places, you need to eat it fresh. Do not do take out!

Yelp
I was very intrigued by mochi pizza. So I had to give it a try, and I would say it was definitely unique. The crust was crispy, chewy, and dense. I would say it was a little too chewy and dense. I think I still prefer bread type crust. The toppings were delicious and I enjoyed the pizza. The flavors like the chicken curry is not traditional, but loved the gourmet flavors. I would go back, but it's not something would get regularly. If you enjoy mochi, it's a must try.

Yelp
Mochi pizza. Do I need to say more? The flavors were amazing and the crust had a good mochi texture chew. The only thing that made it -1 Stars was the price and size of but that's it. This was a good snack for 3 people but they did tell me that it would feed 2-3 people. And the staff was super friendly and the pizza took only 10-15 minutes after ordering. Definitely would go back.

Yelp
I'd give it a 3.5. Fiancé and I came from OC to visit friends. He has to eat a gluten free diet so we were more than happy to try this place out. The shop was really cute but very small which was fine. Service was just normal. They were really quiet didn't say much but it wasn't bad either. I like the way they packaged the pizzas, the boxes were really cute. we tried the pepperoni, curry chicken pizza and the soy braised beef. the beef one I think was the best. Everything was bit too salty for me. I didn't really know how I felt about the mochi pizza crust. It was sort of just like eating hard, crunchy mochi with cheese and toppings on top I think if it was maybe a little thinner it would have been better. My fiancé liked it though and so did my friends It's an interesting and creative concept and I would recommend everyone try because who knows you might really like it!

Yelp
Mochi pizza is a cool concept, but the pizza base had way too much mochi that it was really tough to chew. I'm wondering if it would be better if they put less mochiko flour. Spicy pork was my favorite. I enjoyed the flavors. Chicken curry had a kick to it. It's topped with jalapeños and cilantro. The pepperoni was just okay. They use a sweet tomato jam. I normally like sweet and savory mixed food, but this one didn't hit the same. Two combo pizzas was a perfect amount of food for 3 of us. We waited for about 25 minutes? It'd be nice if they called out our names or brought out the orders when it's ready, but you need to go back to the counter to check. There is only outdoor seating with three tables. Parking in this area can be tough, especially on the weekends. There is a nearby parking structure. No regrets trying mochiko mochi pizza, but I'm not too inclined to go back.

Yelp
Cool concept but poor execution, barely any meat on each slice. I feel like I was just chewing on 40% mochi, 50% cheese and 10% sauce + topping...their selling point is texture of pizza. If the base is something chewy, I think it would be cool to play with the texture of the topping as well. Make the topping crispy instead of making the entire bite mushy. They tried to play with the flavor -- kimchi garlic sauce on the soy beef mochi pizza was super interesting, but since there's any meat on it, it's just a big mush of mochi kimchi. Lost potential. They should really load up the topping! The chicken curry had no kick, and again, barely any chicken. Giant mush of mochi, another lost potential. The spicy pork was weird...? I didn't know what I was eating.

Yelp
I was so excited to try mochi pizza but it was below average. The dough was definitely mochi consistency which is amazing but the flavors didn't hit the spot. I got braised pork, spicy pork, and chicken curry. They were all super salty and the spicy pork was definitely spicy. Just a warning for those who have a low spice tolerance like myself. I do appreciate that the menu was small as to not overwhelm the consumer with a lot of options. They have classics like cheese and pepperoni and more unique Asian inspired flavors. I also like that they allow 2-3 different flavors for the large slice. Located in downtown Burlingame so street parking can be difficult. But there is a (un)loading zone right in front if you're taking it to-go. Which I would recommend since there was only one table inside. Plenty of outside seating though. Maybe like 4-5 tables. Overall, I was pretty disappointed and I was really excited for this. It wasn't worth the 45min drive.

Yelp
Mochi pizza is a great concept. However, personally it wasn't something I enjoyed in comparison to a regular pizza. On the other hand, my boyfriend said it was fine for him so to each their own. Here's a breakdown of the pizza: - price: high considering the number of slices received. But after eating two, be prepared to feel stuffed so actually not bad. - dough: chewy and quite heavy. The bottom was crispy so that was a plus. - sauce: the tomato sauce was too sweet for me. But once I added in some pepper flakes, it did get even out a bit. - toppings: can't go wrong with pepperoni. Food came out nice and hot but unfortunately, they don't have any tables indoor and personally not a fan of eating outside in the cold without heat lamps so I did take this to go. There is a table outside with some chairs for when the weather improves.

Yelp
As advertised the dough part of the pizza was definitely mochi-- I had expected maybe 30% mochi & 70% dough but this was 100% mochi. I personally liked the mochi but it was THICK. Their marinara was sweet, and I'm not sure what type of cheese they use on all their pizzas but I felt like it did not complement the mochi, and sweet marinara at all. I think the best tasting flavor was the curry chicken, because it did not have those components. I got one slice of every flavor to try and it was really heavy. I can't imagine finishing an entire pizza and found myself only able to take a few bites of each flavor. I feel like a lot more experimentation could have been done to tweak out better flavors and the thickness of the mochi overall for a better experience. It was an interesting concept overall and I enjoyed trying this but I would not be back based off of the service. I felt so unwelcomed in the store and every interaction I had with the cashier was so offputting it was like pulling teeth. He definitely did not want to be there or serve anyone and made me feel uncomfortable for even interacting with him. I met another customer outside of the store that also complained about their lack of restaurant/customer experience.

Yelp
We tried the Mochi Pizza for their Grand Opening and it was great. This shop is located in a very busy neighborhood that has a lot of shops from clothes and accessories to boba or sit-down restaurants. Although this is a busy area, we usually don't have a problem finding parking here since there is plenty of street parking as well as free parking lots. For the Grand Opening, we thankfully lined up before the place opened since we came back after having lunch and saw the line was two times longer than it was when we first lined up because everyone was lined up for the free slice up Pizza while supplies last. There were choices of getting a slice of free Cheese, Pepperoni, Spicy Pork, or Chicken Curry Mochi Pizza. We decided to get Pepperoni, Spicy Pork, and Chicken Curry. The Pepperoni Mochi Pizza had Tomato Jam, House Blended Cheese, Pepperoni, and Fresh Garlic Chives. This was also good even though I don't like Pepperoni because of the Tomato Jam. The Spicy Pork Mochi Pizza had House Blended Cheese, Spinach, Spicy Minced Pork, and topped with Sansho Pepper Cream Sauce. This was my second favorite because it had a nice kick but also a little sweet from the Tomato Jam. The Sansho Pepper Cream Sauce also gave it a little creaminess that went well with the Spicy Pork. The Chicken Curry Mochi Pizza was great. It had Fried Chicken Karaage, Japanese Curry, House Blended Cheese, Jalapeno, and Fresh Cilantro on top, which blended well together. This was my favorite flavor because it had a great Curry flavor that was enough Curry that didn't have you guessing what it was. It also went well with the Mochi Pizza Crust. Definitely would have this flavor again. The Mochi Pizza Crust had a nice springy texture that you would expect from products with Mochi. It also had a nice crunchy, pretty much like you were getting the edge of a pan of Butter Mochi but not sweet or having grilled Mochi. Such a good and different Crust from the usual Pizza Crusts you would get anywhere else. Definitely a must try.

Yelp
I had never tried mochi pizza before and wanted to give it a shot! I read from other reviews that it's better to eat it right away while it's fresh instead of waiting to eat it. I had to take it to go but I made sure to eat it right when I got home and it was still warm. I got a medium combo ($15) which comes with 2 flavors and got the pepperoni and spicy pork. Both of the flavors were just ok, and there definitely could have been more flavor in each one. The spicy pork wasn't too spicy but from other reviews it seems like the spice level varies for that flavor. The mochi texture was definitely there, and it was like eating a more dense pizza because it was pretty chewy. Overall, I thought the mochi pizza was alright, and it was fun to try for the first time, but I don't think I would go out of my way to get it again.

Yelp
Saw this place on tiktok and I really liked the concept. I was excited to try Mochiko out but I was hesitant if this is only a "try once and never come back" type of place. I was actually really surprised by the pizza! Both pizzas were amazing. I really enjoyed the flavors of each and how the chewy mochi paired with them. I was afraid the mochi crust would be too sweet or too thick. The crust was crunchy and chewy and gave the pizza the fun chewy texture. I'll definitely come back when in Burlingame!

Yelp
I've been so intrigued by this place since it opened, and I'm so glad I finally got to try it! It wasn't busy at 12:30 on a Sunday, although it started getting busy by the time we finished eating! Plenty of outdoor seating, but parking can be tough since it's in a busy area. The pizzas though! I'm pretty basic so my favorite ended up being the pepperoni. The chicken curry and spicy pork were also good and interesting flavors, but I wouldn't necessarily get them again. The bottom and side of the crust was so crunchy and delicious, and just like it says, it really is mochi between that cheese crunchy crust! My jaw was actually pretty tired from all that chewing haha so I was full after two slices, which is a good thing considering they aren't that big. The pepperoni is $18 and the combo (you can choose 2-3 flavors) is $20. The staff was nice and provide water, napkins, and utensils for eating outside if you need it. All in all, I'm glad I tried it, and while I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, I'd eat it again if I was in the area!

Yelp
100% recommend ordering online, since it takes anywhere from 15-20 minutes depending on how busy they are. There was one couple ahead of me, and mine took about 15 minutes. But right now (January) it's pretty cold, and the place is basically a takeout counter with a couple of outdoor tables, so there wasn't a ton of space to wait inside and they kept the door open. I wish I had read the reviews on how long it takes, cause then I would have gone to Sephora first. I think it's a little hard though, depending on how far you have to go if you're doing takeout, because these pizzas like, taste a lot better hot, but if you live further away and have to reheat the pizza, it feels a little like why do all this work for takeout. I got the combo so I could try everything. The price wasn't too bad considering how filling everything is, but idk how good it will be after reheating. Ngl, i was almost disappointed when I opened the box and saw how small the slices looked. But looks are deceiving- two slices were plenty for me. I ate three and am pretty full. Like others have noted, the crust is super dense and chewy, but almost too chewy for my taste. It almost felt like my jaw was going to get tired. It's more like actual real mochi than, say, mochi donuts, which are relatively light. But firmer. I actually liked the slight sweetness of the pepperoni - that one was my fave. Then the spicy pork was not spicy at all, and was my second fave. Very creamy tasting. I felt vaguely healthy eating it cause spinach lol. The curry one was good too, but I didn't really notice much of the chicken - there was nothing really kaarage about it. I couldn't really tell it ever had a fried crispy part to it, so it was just kind of like random small chicken pieces. Props to the creative flavor combos though. Overall, I would maybe eat here again with a friend, but it's hard to reason getting a whole 6 slices again for myself, esp since they're super dense. I'm not sure why they dont have smaller portions available - it'd make me more inclined to come back. That, combined with how uncomfortable it was to wait for my pizza, bumped my rating from a 4 to a 3. Maybe had it ordered online first it would be a 4? And i really do want it to succeed. But. It's def not the kind of place you can swing by and grab a bite to eat quickly, and felt like the kind of place you go for the novelty of mochi pizza but don't necessarily feel the need to return, even though they had good flavors.

Yelp
Stopped by to try Mochiko on a Sunday. We arrived within 5 minutes of their opening, and there were already a few folks waiting in line to order, and all but 1 outdoor table was taken. You can only order whole pizzas (no slices), and their pies are $18 each or $20 for a combo of 2-3 flavors. We got a combo of pepperoni, spicy pork, and curry chicken. Their pizzas are 6 slices, so with 3 flavors, we got 2 slices of each. I love pepperoni pizza and thought it would be my favorite of the 3, but I ended up liking it the least because their sauce is really sweet. Spicy pork was ultimately our favorite. Their curry chicken tasted very prepackaged. Echoing other reviews, their mochi dough is quite dense and heavy; we were only able to get through a few slices before getting really full. The bottom of the pizza also gets really hard, almost inedible. It's an interesting concept and wasn't too pricey (given we shared 1 pizza for 2 people and had leftovers), but we probably won't be back. Mochiko's storefront is really small (basically just an ordering station), and there are only 3 tables outside for seating. As we were eating, there were constantly people walking by and hovering for tables. It also took a while for the pizza to be ready. When we ordered, we were quoted a 15-20 minute wait time; we easily waited for 25+ minutes for our food to be ready.

Yelp
It's a small storefront located next to Sephora and there's only street parking. It can be difficult to find parking during peak hours. I came here for Saturday night dinner and ordered right away. They have online ordering on their website, but it's not live yet. I waited about 15-20 minutes for the pizza. They had tables outside, but it was too cold and I opted to eat in the car The mochi crust dough was very interesting. I actually really enjoyed the chewy and crunchy dough. I tried chicken curry, pepperoni, and spicy pork. My favorite was chicken curry and pepperoni. Both had really good flavors and was unique. The spicy pork was okay, but the flavor was not stand out to me. I would recommend checking out this place out especially if you're in the area and hopefully they'll come out with more flavors soon.

Yelp
Guarantee to get full after two slices. I ordered the combo of pepperoni and chicken curry on a mochi dough. The dough was a little crispy on the outside with gooey mochi. Fresh out of the oven from Chef Ty. I prefer the pepperoni over the chicken curry: the pepperoni sauce was a little sweeter and flavorful. The chicken curry tasted like regular curry but felt like it was missing a flavor and it was topped with jalapeno to make it spicy. Overall I didn't feel too bloated eating two slices like eating mochi donuts. The service was nice and it took 10 minutes to prepare a whole combo pizza. It's a small shop with outdoor seating and nice flowers, facing the Sephora sign (in case you get lost looking for them). All you do is pay in card and either have them serve to your table on a tray or take it home in a box.

Yelp
This is a really interesting concept -- Mochi as the crust with normal pizza toppings. We went here for their soft opening and they gave us free slices to try! We tried the spicy sausage and the pepperoni pizza. I really enjoyed the crust, it was really crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Pizza costs range from about $18 a pizza, 6 square slices. Amount of calories undetermined but I'm sure it's a lot because of the Mochi. I'm giving this a 4 because although it was good, I did feel so heavy / uncomfortable after. I definitely couldn't eat a whole pizza or even half without feeling sick. One slice was really enough.

Yelp
Order: * Curry Chicken pizza Pros: * Pizza is ready pretty quick, about 15-20 minutes * Flavor is pretty good, just like the curry you might make at home from the cubed concentrate. * The dough does indeed have true mochi texture. Cons: * Using mochi as pizza crust doesn't really work for me. I kept wishing the crust was crispy instead. I think I would have preferred mochi bites as a topping instead. Comments: * I imagine this place to be polarizing. I love pizza and I love mochi, but turns out I don't love them together.

Yelp
We had split opinions among four of us that tried the soy braised beef pizza. Both my parents would go back and really liked the chewy crust. I, on the other hand liked it, but would probably still rather go for more traditional pizza given the choice. The taste of rice flour was familiar, but wasn't savory enough for me. It was a fairly quick wait.

Yelp
I was actually pretty impressed by the mochi pizza here and super enjoyed the texture and chewy factor of the crust. It was really nice with the rest of the pizza. We tried the pepperoni and felt that it was overall too salty but still tasty. Wish they sold pizzas at a bigger size instead of the medium and large they have only currently. The large is not large at all and is probably only good for 2 adults for a meal honestly so therefore priced on the higher end. Good novelty pizza but not something I would gravitate for if I wanted pizza for an actual meal. Maybe a small snack. Also in case anyone is interested, we also tried reheating it once we got home in the oven at 350F for a few minutes and the pizza and especially the mochi crust came back out pretty great, back to normal!

Came here since I saw a reel about Mochi pizza and I had to try it. It's about a 20 minute wait for pizza though so be ready to wait! We got half Japanese chicken curry and half pepperoni (the only veggie option was cheese), but I did like that they only had a couple of options. After exactly 20ish minutes had passed we got our pizza and started munching. The pepperoni one was delicious, especially the sauce. The Mochi texture was interesting but I think I'll stick to Mochi in desserts going forward since it felt too gummy and I was missing a fluffy bread texture. The chicken curry one was bland and didn't have much flavor despite it being curry. I'd go with the options that have a red sauce since that was the best part about the pizza. Cool concept though!

Yelp
Mochiko pizza is located on Lorton Avenue in Downtown Burlingame. It's a grab and go spot, with a few outdoor tables. The pizza takes about 20 minutes to make. Their limited menu was helpful to narrow down topping options; cheese was a solid choice, and curry on pizza seems to have become a popular combo. The mochi dough gives the pizza a nice chew for sure, in addition to the cheese. Hope the team will expand to an indoor restaurant to enjoy the full dining experience soon!

Yelp
I was really excited to try out this mochi pizza but I was pretty disappointed. It's a small location and the pizza took about 25 minutes to make. They have a few metal tables and chairs to sit outside but it was very cold and started to rain. The flavors of the pizza were good but the mochi pizza itself left a bitter aftertaste. The edges were crispy but the middle parts were dense. There were 2 options for size. Large ($20) which is 6 slices and medium ($15) which is 4 slices. Kinda pricy for the size. Couldn't eat more after 2 slices but was left still hungry and wanting something else.

Yelp
Novel idea!! Can't say I've seen this anywhere ever before. Am I right?! Mochi crust is chewy and crunchy at the same time, and it's thin enough where you don't feel so guilty for eating so much rice flour. The good news is that it's gluten-free! I got the chicken curry one and it was tasty, I love curry. The chicken didn't seem fresh, but the jalapeño's and corn were and I like that they didn't over do it with the cheese or curry. The place is just a small walk-up and takeout style eatery. There's tables outside to eat. My only qualm is that there's no vegetarian pizza and that you cannot just buy one slice. So I had to commit to the medium pizza which was 4 slices and too many just for me and $13. Thank goodness it was worth it!

Yelp
Sooo good! If you like mochi like I do you will really enjoy this pizza. The dough has the same consistency as mochi chewy soft on the inside but crispy on the outside. I ordered up at the counter and waited 15 minutes for it to be made!

Yelp
Overall, it was fun to try out something new but I would never get it again. I had heard a lot of mixed reviews about the mochi pizza and decided to try it out. I got a large combo (6 slices) with pepperoni and spicy pork which took about 15 minutes for it to be ready. The texture of the mochi dough was not for me but I will say that the sauce and toppings were really good. I love pizza and was excited to try but ended up feeling very disappointed. Although I didn't like it, I would say that it's worth trying! It's unique and well made but again it wasn't for me but it might be for you! Since the dough was made with rice flour, the mochi consistency definitely filled me up with two slices. Although the slices are small, the chewiness takes a while to finish each slice. As for the store, it's a small shop with seating outside. I went on Friday night and had trouble with finding a parking spot but parking in the area is always a little difficult during busy hours.

Yelp
Why was this so delicious?? I really enjoyed all three flavors, it tasted so good fresh... Despite the long shaped box, I would recommend sneaking it into a theater (at your own risk). The texture of the mochi and the crisp crust was so goooood. Definitely order ahead online!

Yelp
My friend and I wanted to try this place since we really like mochi food and so a mochi pizza was intriguing. It's a new place so it was super small with limited toppings but I think it has plenty of potential. The crust was crispy on the outside but also chewy on the inside. I got the half and half option with chicken curry and cheese. The curry is actually Japanese curry so don't be surprised about it. The pizza was made fresh so we got it piping hot and finished everything in one sitting. If you like mochi, it's worth a try!

Yelp
Great idea, great flavors, great service. Definitely enjoyed all the flavors Spicy Pork being my favorite. Would definitely come back! Side note: For those reading other reviews, I see people deducting stars for a the marinara being too sweet. If you read the ingredients on the menu clearly says "Sweet Tomato Jam". I don't understand how you ding a restaurant for something that's literally in the description. Must be frustrating for the restaurant.

Yelp
Came here for the hype! I was really curious about this concept since I do love mochi, and the mochi donut combo. After trying it, I think the mochi crust is cool as a concept, but would love more toppings/sauces on top to even out the density of the mochi crust. I actually liked the chicken curry pizza, but would've liked to have more curry sauce over the pizza since the sauce under the cheese seemed to cook/dehydrate a bit. overall, would give it another shot if I was craving mochi, but would pass on the pepperoni and ask for more sauce!

Yelp
We tried the Japanese Curry, Pepperoni and Spicy Pork pizzas. I liked the spicy pork and pepperoni the best. The pepperoni had a sweet tomato sauce which we liked. The mochi crust was chewy on the inside and crunchy on the exterior. I'd recommend eating it hot since it started to get a bit hard as the pizza got cold. We sat outside on a chilly day, so we wished there was seating inside. The cashiers were nice and our pizza took about 15-20 minutes to cook. Overall it'd be a great appetizer or side dish, but a bit too rich for a full meal. Regardless, I'd come back here again if I was in the area!

Yelp
We had a large 3 style combo pizza. Cheese, Pepperoni, and spicy pork. The flavors were so yummy! The pizza crust was crunch, but also soft/chewy like mochi dough. Was 15 minutes from order to ready to eat. We couldn't resist and ate it in the car before we got home! Couldn't resist. The cheese was my favorite. Great flavors of the tomato jam and cheese. Can't wait to try again!

Yelp
We decided to try a different style and be a bit trendy. I like Mochi and I like pizza, but together maybe? We did 2 pizzas; a 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 cheese and a Curry Chicken. I was a fan for a slice of the pepperoni and a slice of the cheese. Not quite a meal kind of food for a standard American pallet (toppings are a bit thin and I want to eat more then just Mochi) but it would definitely be a hit as an appetizer. The taste starts as pizza, then shifts to Mochi. Texture is initially crisp and then shifts to chewy. My 2 year old loved the pepperoni, so a hit with the kiddo. I was not a fan of the curry chicken. I didn't feel the 2 tastes complementing each other. Seating is limited to a few tables outside and the pizzas take approx 10mins. Cool concept, but more quantity of toppings would be better.

Yelp
Small shop with outdoor seating only. We ordered the medium combo (1-2 flavors) and it was around $15-$20 total. It was a 15 minutes wait for a fairly small size (4 slices). The crust is similar to flatbread (it's thin) but you do taste the mochi texture in the crust. However, the pizza as a whole was subpar. It was salty, the pepperoni didn't curve up like the marketing. We got half pepperoni and half curry. Curry side wasn't bad with corn bits but definitely didn't wow us. What brought the rating down was that I found a hair in my crust; baked in! I tried pulling it out but it was stuck in there (photo attached). Overall, price isn't worth it because of the size, taste, and time it took to make.

Yelp
This place has a fun new concept on mochi and pizza and the flavors are yummy! The location is a small store front and like most downtowns, parking is kind of sucky (depending on the day and time you go). I wish there were more flavors to choose from, as of now there's only three flavors. The pizza is amazing in the first couple of bites but after a while, you kind of get tired of the amount of chewing that is needed because of the mochi lol it's one of those things that are good but can get tired of fairly quickly so I was glad I was sharing. Again the flavor is yummy but to say I would crave it and make the drive... probably not so much, but if I was in the area and someone wanted it, I wouldn't turn it down.

Yelp
Went here with a friend of mine to check the hype. We shared a large combo pizza. Her fave was the chicken curry. I enjoyed the spicy pork. It's only good if you eat it fresh off the box. Once it cools down, the flavors and quality drops exponentially. Great crunch to the crust, but can be dense especially when it gets cold. I'd say try it once if you're in the area, but I wouldn't trek there again.

Yelp
It's a small shop next to Sephora. I wasn't sure what I wanted to lunch a few days ago. I decided to come here. Omfg! I'm glad I did! It was chewy and crunchy. They had some interesting flavors: 1. Cheese 2. Pepperoni 3. Chicken curry 4. Spicy Pork I got a combo with 3 flavors: 1/3 each. Spicy pork was my favorite! I wish they had a margarita one, but they don't yet.

Yelp
Ordered online and the estimated time it would be ready was 3:03pm. I ordered at around 2:45pm so I thought that was reasonable. Drove over and parked (mainly street parking for this place) and it wasn't ready yet. The pizza wasn't ready until 3:20. The customer service was pretty much nonexistent. They didn't really greet my boyfriend when he walked in to pick it up, just asked for a name, told it wasn't ready yet but wasn't given an estimated amount of time until it would be. We ordered the cheese mochi pizza and the large combo pizza with pepperoni and soy-braised beef. The cheese one was the only decent one but I'd still only rate it 6.5/10 at best. The crust is very doughy, even though it is mochi. It gave off undercooked dough more than mochi for us. I feel like if the crust was thinner, it'd be a lot better. It gets stuck in your teeth. The soy-braised beef comes with a roasted garlic kimchi sauce that completely overpowers the whole pizza. The pepperoni is eh, okay. Maybe a 4/10. Each of the pizzas had an odd aftertaste as well which threw us off.

Yelp
The best mochi pizza ever! Highly recommend go there and try! Both kids and me like it! Very special! Love it!

Yelp
A friend was raving about this place so had to check it out, and we weren't disappointed. As others noted, the dough is heavier and chewier than traditional crust, and as I happen to prefer it this way the pizza was right up my alley. Compared to other pizzas, these mochi pizzas are also more filling, which adds to the value. We tried pepperoni and curry and enjoyed both. Get the combo option so you can try multiple flavors. Outdoor seating only.

Yelp
Fun idea, not so tasty in real life. I love new and interesting foods. Mochi pizza sounded really interesting and different. After eating it in real life, I'm ok never eating another one again. The idea of a crispy and chewy crust sounds nice but it ended up being a lot of chewing. Like imagine a crust made with the density of mozzarella without the flavor. I will say the curry chicken one tasted much better that the typical cheese or pepperoni. Maybe because it felt more like a unique dish than "pizza."
