The Best Donuts In SF - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Taisuke Yamamoto for Mochill Mochi Donut Soaking in the sun at Dolores Park is one way to instantly feel good. Another is to just walk up to Mochill Mochidonut. At the Japantown mall kiosk, ring-shaped mochi donuts that come in an assortment of fun colors and glazes are the name of the game. Rich dark chocolate, matcha oreo, black sesame, even one with puffy Fruity Pebbles on top will beckon you from behind the small glass case. But aside from looking like something we want to dedicate an entire scrapbook to, these donuts are incredible. They’re super chewy and taste about as close to literal sunshine as you can get." - julia chen 1, lani conway, ricky rodriguez, patrick wong

The Best Doughnut Shops in San Francisco | Eater SF

"Located inside both the Japan Center and Stonestown Galleria, Mochill is a small window where mochi doughnut lovers grab boxes to go. Unlike the pastries at Third Culture Bakery in Berkeley, which are more dense and doughy, these rings are crisp and light. Colors and flavors rotate, but highlights include black sesame, matcha tea, Fruity Pebbles, and crushed Oreo cookies." - Dianne de Guzman

We love their donuts so much. The textures were so good, soft, fluffy, a little crispy on the outside and the sweetness of the glazing was perfect. We got Matcha and cookie and cream donuts. There was no waiting line. There were a promotion for a half price for their anniversaries on that weekend. I want to go back to try more of their flavors. It is located on the second floor.

Google
🍩 Chocolate Mochi Delight: I decided to try the chocolate mochi donut here, and it was fantastic! The texture was wonderfully chewy and soft, and the chocolate glaze was really tasty. Even as someone who doesn't usually go for mochi, I thoroughly enjoyed this treat. 👍 Would Return: If I find myself in the Mountain View area again, grabbing another one of their mochi donuts will definitely be on my list. It was a delicious and satisfying snack.

Google
Really nice texture but extremely sweet (even for my sweet tooth). Taro, black sesame and matcha were great (in that order).

Google
Great donut! Flavors were on point and delicious. Loved the grapefruity one though i forgot its name.

Google
Mochi donuts are a unique type of donut, super soft, and fluffy and there are over 25 flavors to choose from. A higher price point than your average donut but is worth it. Highly recommend it on any day of the week!

Google
First time try and so delicious 🤤. I took around 15 minutes to get in line on weekends. The mochi donuts are chewy texture. I tried black sesame / matcha and taro with dried coconut 🥥. Those were great 👍. Highly recommended

Juan Sebastian Charria

Google
Delicious pastry to enjoy after a delicious meal in Japan Town! The matcha was delicious, as was the cinnamon and fruity pebbles! Something about mochi texture and consistency makes this taste better than any doughnut ever before.

Google
If you're gonna commit the sin of eating a donut at least get one from a superior shop like this place. Very light batter and low on sugar, these treats are a guilty pleasure but not nearly as bad for you as a “mainstream” American donut. Their chocolate and strawberry donuts were perfect and go well with Japanese tea or a regular latte. Excellent service here; love this place!

Yelp
Ever since the first time I had heard about mochi donuts, I knew immediately I'd love them. Donuts? Great! Mochi? Great! Combined together? Doubly great! Even if there had been any potential of doubt (there wasn't), it was completely wiped away after I tried Hawaii's MoDo's mochi donuts at one of their pop-up events in San Jose. Which makes it all the more ridiculous that it took me so long to finally make my way to Mochill, especially since I had heard nothing but good things about this place! Sharing a space with Takoyaki Yamochan, Mochill is an undeniably modest operation. That being said, it doesn't seem to limit them in what they're able to put out. Not only do they have a dozen different flavors to offer on any given day, but the flavors are both interesting and varied. Along side classic flavors like Cinnamon Sugar, Chocolate, and Cookies & Cream, you'll also find a mix of Asian flavors, like Matcha, Black Sesame and Kinako, and more unique and seasonal flavors, like Ruby Chocolate, Love Potion, and Earl Grey Strawberry Cake. That said, it's also not everything they have to offer either, as flavors will rotate in and out on a regular basis, so you very well could see something new to try whenever you come here! -- CHOCOLATE While the chocolate flavor on this one might have been just okay (it's not bad, just kind of generic), but the texture was perfect! The donut was crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside, unlike others I've had in the past. -- MATCHA This was awesome! The texture of the donut itself was just as terrific as the chocolate one, but the frosting was better. Not only did it hold up better after a couple of hours (it didn't get as gooey), but the matcha flavor was a lot stronger. The other thing that I really liked across all of the donuts I tried was that none of them were all that greasy. Even after sitting for a bit, there weren't any oil stains on the bag and the donut didn't leave my mouth with that coated feeling. Although Mochill has some of the best mochi donuts I've tried in SF, so far, coming here does require a bit more effort compared to other shops that are closer to me. That being said, that's probably not the worst thing, as if it was easy, I can only imagine how often I'd come here! FOUR AND A HALF STARS rounded up.
google avatar

Catherine N.

Yelp
I think the mochi donuts here are the best I've had in the city! The texture is perfectly chewy and fluffy, while also not being greasy (even if you don't get the freshest ones). I love the more Japanese flair flavors like matcha and sesame that are not too sweet. But, for a sweeter dessert, the strawberry donut has a great light tang that balances the sweeter glaze. Whenever I want a sweet treat, I drop by for my favorite donuts here!
google avatar

Lylah A.

Yelp
I have to come here almost every time I'm in SF. They have great flavors to choose from. I really like the fruity pebbles and cookie and cream. They are super quick at serving people. The doughnuts may not be the softest or freshest, but it doesn't affect the quality too much because they are just really good regardless.
google avatar

Cecilia S.

Yelp
Whenever I'm in Japantown, I have to make a stop and have some mochi donuts. This was the first place I ever experienced mochi donuts, and I fell in love. They're always crafting yummy unique flavors when I come back and check. My favorite flavor that stays consistent and remains my go-to is the Black sesame. The donuts are absolutely delicious, though, regardless of the flavor. They have a unique texture that's chewy, airy, and tasty. Orders are taken right at the counter and given at payment, making the whole transaction quick and easy. Customer service is extremely friendly and helpful. Don't hesitate to ask any questions about flavors! If you love mochi donuts or have never had one and would like to try, I HIGHLY recommend Mochill mochi donuts!

Yelp
This Mochill Mochi Donut Shop is located in Japantown next to Yama-Chan Takoyaki. I was greeted by a friendly cashier upon walking up to the counter to place my order. They have twelve different flavors of mochi doughnuts for sale. I decided to buy half a dozen for $18.00. I bought the Banana Oreo, Samoa, Matcha Oreo, Matcha, Black Sasame, and Yuzu flavored ones. My two favorites were the banana oreo and the matcha. The matcha oreo was too sweet and I couldn't taste the matcha.

Yelp
Embarrassed to say that I had never tried Mochi donuts before Mochill. These ones are very good and my wife confirmed this was the place to break that streak with. Our favorite was the fruity pebbles doughnut. Also a very fair price which is always refreshing to see in SF!
google avatar

Kasey H.

Yelp
So yum! This place is such a favorite of mine that my friend sent me this box of assorted mochi donuts for my birthday! My favorites in the box were the black sesame, fruity pebbles, and the yuzu!
google avatar

Minah L.

Yelp
This is a must stop for us whenever we're in Japantown. My favorites are the yuzu and strawberry, which both have prominent flavors. Mochi donuts are not as sweet as typical American donuts and they have a nice chew & bouncy texture. We got a box of 6 for $18 which is still steep but it's worth it for us.
google avatar

Yelp
I have no chill when it comes to Mochill, haha. I noticed that the shop was about to close, so I hustled over to the Japantown mall to get my donut fix. There was a bit of a line (right by the fountain) that only got longer, but at least it was moving quickly.. I noticed that they do try to upsell the 6-donut box for $18 (hey, didn't it used to be $15?) to people, but you can't really go wrong here. They usually have 12 flavors to choose from on a daily basis and only the Fruity Pebbles donut was sold out 10 minutes before closing time. The cashier was very kind and friendly. I selected the 6-donut box and got 2 sugar glazed, 1 cinnamon sugar, 1 Oreo, 1 yuzu, and 1 caramel flavor. They are super hot and fresh with a light and airy flavor. I really do prefer them to regular donuts. You can seal them in an airtight container for the next day, but I don't really recommend keeping them longer than a day since they absorb the frosting and become soggy. Check this place out when you're in Japantown, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Always enjoy stopping by here whenever I am around J-Town and want to satiate my sweet tooth craving. I'm a huge fan of Mister Donut back in Taiwan and Japan, so the closest thing I have to that in SF is Mochill, which does not disappoint. My go-to flavors are typically the original glaze, strawberry, sesame, and matcha, which are consistently good and flavorful. The consistency of Mochill's mochi donuts is always chewy and great as well. Earlier this week, my neighbors and I had a Halloween-themed event, and the afternoon of the event day, I was around the area and figured I'd pick up some mochi donuts! I was pleasantly surprised to find these curiously cute Halloween-themed donuts. Safe to say, the spooky aesthetics AND flavors did not disappoint and were a huge hit at the neighborhood get together.
google avatar

Jordan L.

Yelp
Ooooh baby I don't normally like mochi donuts but this place was so good! We got the Oreo one and it didn't disappoint. Our friends got the salted caramel one which also looked good. There wasn't much of a line and we had our donut within 1-2 minutes. Would come back!
google avatar

Ash J.

Yelp
Mochi donuts are a cross between classic American donuts and Japanese mochi, which has a chewy, stretchy and soft texture. No one does them better in the bay than Mochill! There are some flavors that are mainstays (matcha, strawberry, fruity pebbles - my fav) but they also have great seasonal flavors. You can get one, 6 or 12 at once. Pictured is one of their seasonal flavors for Halloween; the "grave monster". It has a brownie and some small candies in the middle, along with the RIP sign made of some type of sugar coated wafer. It was amazing! Every part tasted great and the presentation was fantastic. $3.80 / donut is very reasonable considering the craftsmanship put into it. I'll definitely keep coming back!

Yelp
was in Japan town craving some mochi donuts obvi.. and you can tell the difference when eating these and some from another shop. At a corner stall, easy to find and line moves pretty fast. They have so many flavors! Hoping to try the yuzu one next time (and banana or dark chocolate one if they have it)
google avatar

Madeline C.

Yelp
I've had mochi donuts from this same chain before and find the Japantown location has been the freshest tasting. They are soft and freshly baked and the matcha flavor was delicious. About 3 years ago I got the black sesame and it was great.
google avatar

Shmike Z.

Yelp
They use to have a a set up and In my local food hall in Oakland and that where I first discovered them. Creative flavors and a much longer shelf life than regular donuts, mochi donuts have become a favorite of mine. Nowadays whenever I'm in San Francisco I try to make a quick stop to bring them back home with me
google avatar

Kaneesia Kamil C.

Yelp
Located inside the shopping mall at Japantown connected with a takoyaki place! I absolutely love mochi donuts, and mochill does not disappoint. Ordered the brownie crunch and it was so chocolatey! Brownie was great as well. My friends ordered the strawberry crunch, fruity pebbles, and the nutella. Friend was not too happy with nutella, tried it and it really did not taste like nutella. Service was fast. Seats only available at the side.
google avatar

Judy H.

Yelp
Service was quick and efficient. Store front was clean. We ordered chocolate crumble, black sesame, mango, yuzu, taro and matcha. All were freshly prepared and delicious. The yuzu was nice and citrusy. The black sesame had sesame flavor which shown through the glaze. matcha had the green tea flavors just right! Taro had coconut which slightly over powered the taro but it was delicious. Mango-fabulous mango flavors! The chocolate although delicious, didn't seem like real chocolate.
google avatar

Maggie L.

Yelp
Right before my flight back home from San Fran, I stopped by Mochill for some mochi donuts. This was around the holidays, so they were selling festively decorated donuts with edible beads and all. I picked up a regular matcha and a holiday chocolate matcha, since everything else was pretty much sold out. I thought they were decent, but definitely have had better. Maybe it wasn't chewy enough for me.
google avatar

Emily O.

Yelp
Hojicha and black sesame are my fav!! The texture of the mochi is chewy, soft, and airy!
google avatar

Evora H.

Yelp
The most soft, chewy and flavorful donuts ever. The Matcha, chocolate and cinnamon are my favorites. Order online for pick up to grab and go. This convenient ordering makes pick up fast and easy. Of course if you have time explore Japantown the variety of really good sushi restaurants is so worth the discovery.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is located in Japan town. They have a few varieties of flavors and flavors of the month. We tried a few different flavors, bought six altogether. They donuts were very good. I thought they were way better than Mochi Donuts shop. The donuts had a good flavor and texture. Was not too chewy. Fresh! I really liked them. They were pretty good the next day too. The line can get pretty long on the weekends. Best to go on the weekdays.
google avatar

Lee H.

Yelp
Unreal Mochi donuts! We got the sugar glazed and the cinnamon sugar. They were 10/10. Very fresh. If you haven't had a mochi donut before, come try them! They are chewy in the middle which makes them unique. Service is fast! I also love the vibe in Japan town. So many other options, like a crepe place right next door. I will be coming back to try more flavors! You can also buy Mochi pancake or waffle mix here.
google avatar

Catherine L.

Yelp
I preface my review saying I do like the doughnuts. However I'm not sure if I like the actual quality of doughnut or the novelty of combining the texture of mochi into a doughnut which can traditionally be super heavy. I do like the mix of flavors from matcha, injolmi, chocolate, cinnamon sugar, etc. Come here wit ha group a friends and get a box of 6-12 for a variety. However I do recommend eating them day of as they get a little hard after sitting overnight. Price: $ Overall: 8.2/10 Must Get: Variety box
google avatar

Jo W.

Yelp
What a great dessert place to stop by after a meal in Japantown. My favorite flavors are matcha and sesame. Maybe I'm just lucky, but the line, if there's any, always moves very quickly for me. Service is great and efficient. The donuts themselves are very chewy and delicious, with that wonderful mochi consistency that makes me think of my favorite mochi childhood treats. This is way better than regular donuts!
google avatar

Rudy H.

Yelp
Girls and children love these mochi donuts. They are colourful, sweet, cute and taste good. I saw people (mostly young females and families) bought in large quantities in different varieties. I don't blame them, them donuts looked so eye catching. Pricier than the regular donuts but it's a fair price you have to pay for different kind of donuts. It's mochi donuts. Hmm .. kimochi ..

V Y.

Yelp
The black sesame mochi donut was DELICIOUS!! I've never had this flavor before and was very pleased. It's not too sweet which is good. The service was great and the line moved quickly. Highly recommend this place
google avatar

Naol T.

Yelp
Came back to see if these mochi donuts were still good and they were! Prices have gone up but that is expected. $3 each now. 6 for $18 or 12 for $36. The texture of these mochi donuts are super chewy and bouncy, just the best!
google avatar

Belle J.

Yelp
It's a small little shop in Japan Town and the donuts are so good! Super fresh, tasty, chewy, and pretty! My favorite was the fruity pebbles. We had some left until the next day and it was still yummy and chewy! All the donuts are so pretty and the service was super fast despite a long line. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Aubany G.

Yelp
These are my absolute favorite Mochi Donuts and if I'm in Japantown they are a must. They also have Takoyaki that is pretty awesome. I love the Sesame and Matcha flavors the best and I don't even mind them the next day with my coffee. Texture and crunch are a big deal for me and I love the chew of mochi anything. Today I had them delivered via Caviar and they came in a super long box. Check them out if you're in Japantown!
google avatar

Theresa D.

Yelp
I tried these donuts on a whim because it was publicized on TikTok. I will say that I did not enjoy the taste. Maybe because I don't like mochi I don't know, but it taste very fish. I would not go again however I would eat the frosting. It was very delicious and I liked it but overall, I did not like the donuts.
google avatar

Yelp
What we tried: A box of 6 mochi donuts = $18 Black Sesame Mochi Donut - $3 - RATING: 10/10 - not too sweet; stretchy, airy, soft, satisfying chewiness, and slight crisp on the outside; loved the flavor too. Would eat again and again. Nutella Mochi Donut - $3 or $3.80 - RATING: 9.8/10 Chocolate Mochi Donut - $3 - 3.80 - RATING: 9.7/10 Strawberry Mochi Donut - $3.30 - RATING: 9.5/10 Taro Mochi Donut - $3 - 3.80 - RATING: 7/10 Matcha Mochi Donut - $3 - RATING: 8/10

Yelp
I love mochi and Mochill Mochi Donuts is no exception. I'm not a donut fanatic, but these are a chewy gooey exception! Thanks to my family, I've had donuts from Mochill previously but this was the first time that I went to their Japantown location, and with the finest company! My Yelp bestie and I came in the late afternoon to satisfy our much-anticipated mochi donut desires. There was a short line when we arrived but it moved quickly as the shop functions as a counter service and is shared with the Takoyaki Yamachan. While waiting in line we were able to look at the rotating flavors of the day as well as look at their display case. After ordering and paying at the front we took our mochi donuts to-go to consume at the nearby tables. I selected the Black Sesame Mochi Donut and my bestie picked the Choco Almond Mochi Donut. We shared and sampled each, agreeing the Black Sesame was our fave! The donut was fresh out of the oven, hot, crunchy, and the glaze was still dripping wet! The black sesame taste was subtly nutty and not too sweet. The Choco Almond was chocolatey sweet, chewy, and had a nice crunch from the almond slivers. I've had the pleasure of trying multiple flavors from Mochill and so far my favorites are their Black Sesame and Matcha Milk! Mochill Mochi Donuts is a great one-stop shop for a sweet snack in Japantown! The quality of the donuts is consistent, the flavors are always top-notch, and the service is prompt. I'm already looking forward to going back with my bestie to try their different flavors!
google avatar

Megan K.

Yelp
Lots of cool flavors for a cheapish price. The donuts taste like your typical mochinut but still good and easy to grab

Yelp
"I Love You So Mochi..." I think my two besties are in my head with all their Mochi and Ice Cream adventures! Now they have me craving Mochi at every turn lol! Oh well! I heart them and if it increases my percentage of hanging with these cuties... Mochi away, baby! :D Mochill Mochi Donut was never on my list even though I passed by dozens of times. Yet, on my latest visit to Japantown I just had to stop by and get some! It's an inviting setup where the menu is easy to read with daily specials and the classics. Don't get discouraged if you see a line because it doesn't take a rocket scientist to choose a flavor. It's my turn! I decide on the Matcha Milk Mochi Donut and Kinako Sugar (Soybean Powder) Mochi Donut! These are freshly made and with the fast turnover you'll probably get one just made. Price $5.00 for two! Mochi Donuts in hand I head to the Japantown Peace Pagoda to enjoy! Wow so delicious! I loved the bouncy texture, so light and easy to eat. Both donuts not overly sweet and just the right taste. In the end, I recommend Mochill Mochi Donut if in Japantown! It's tasty, easy on the eyes, and Badtz-Maru wallet friendly! Touch-less payments only!
google avatar

Kathe B.

Yelp
Delectibale, chewy puffy little bites of heaven! I love that they're not too sweet like so many Western desserts or pastries are! I like the mix of savory (black sesame, takoyaki!) and sweet (Reeses!) mixed with some traditional flavors like cinnamon-sugar. We got a dozen to have at the hotel room and share, and I have to say, they stayed in pretty good shape and nicely edible for about 3 days! Take that, basic American donuts! A little pricey for a brekkies treat, but overall, a unique San Francisco treat to add to a foodies passport of the City!
google avatar

Janelle D.

Yelp
These mochi donuts are awesome! They have a great balance to their friedness, not being overly oily. My friends and I shared a variety of flavors, and all of them were enjoyable. The crowd favorite was the bean powder donut and black sesame!! If you're heading to Japantown you might as well treat yo'self with a super yummy mochi donut from Mochill.
google avatar

Emily F.

Yelp
Mochill is so good. At first we tried the doughnuts in the Japantown center and were obsessed. Every time we visited Japantown, we made a point to grab some mochi doughnuts. To our delight, they opened a location at Stonestown Galleria and it's a lot easier to park and buy them versus in the Japantown center. I feel like I order their doughnuts at-least twice a month, lol. Every time we go to the mall, we get doughnuts (no shame). My favorites are the matcha, sesame, and glazed. There's just something about the mochi-ness of the doughnut, the rice flour, that makes them extra memorable.
google avatar

Elvia D.

Yelp
Received a batch of beautiful looking mochi donuts through grub hub and were still chewy! Unique flavors, but I wished it icing had a stronger taste to them. Took them back home and were able to eat them for about 5 days, willing to try again!
google avatar

Angela Y.

Yelp
Nestled in the Japantown mall, this mochi donut spot is my go to for a pick-me-up. Though it's super popular, I haven't had to wait longer than ten minutes, and the line always moves quickly. My favorite flavors are matcha milk and black sesame. Sometimes, the donut I get is freshly baked and warm, and it's absolutely heavenly! If you haven't tried a mochi donut before, they're super chewy and light (different from regular donuts). Some of the flavors are also Asian-inspired. There's also flavors like chocolate, cookies and cream, fruity pebbles, berry. They rotate their flavors daily, but there's usually a core selection that's always present. This specific location is located inside the mall, so there's only a counter to order at. There is other seating near the entrance of the mall. I highly recommend!
google avatar

Sue-Chi H.

Yelp
They have very tasty variety flavors, strongly recommend Yuzu Flavor! It's pretty rare to see the flavor on going, if you see it, GET ONE!
google avatar

Karlee J.

Yelp
Mochi donuts done right! Our favorite is the fruity pebble and Oreo! We love getting these for guests who might not have had mochi donuts! Love the seasonal/weekly options
google avatar

Yelp
If you love mochi and donuts, and if you want to try them combined, come try out Mochill Donuts! I always love coming here whenever I'm in Japantown because their donuts are just so addicting. One of my favorite desserts of all time is mochi so this is definitely a big treat for me. But if you were to fully enjoy it, I recommend eating it right when it's fresh out of their fryer. Eaten any other day it just doesn't taste the same, but you can heat it in the microwave if you need to be softer! Located in the West Wing in Japantown, it can get pretty crowded on the weekends! Their donuts have a very nice chewiness to it and the flavors are pretty. Not too sweet in my opinion and the glaze is just sweetened to my liking. My favorite one has got to be their fruity pebbles one. It has a nice sweetness, chewy, and the fruity pebbles cereal added on top just adds such a nice crispy contrast to it. It's my favorite one over there. My other favorite fan favorites are their black sesame and their matcha. It is a little expensive per donut but feel free to treat yourself out to these every once in a while :) I love this place!
google avatar

Heather Z.

Yelp
This place is located inside japantown. I got the fruit loops mochi donut and it was so good. This donut is pretty chewy but not as dense as other mochi donuts I've tried. The flavor is so unique and the contrast of the crunchy cereal on top helped break up the chewiness of the mochi donut. I'll definitely be trying more flavors.
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
If you've never had a mochi donut before, this is a great place to try them! The donuts are so light and bouncy, you can totally eat a whole box without feeling too guilty! The sweetness of each donut really varies depending on the flavors you choose. We opted for mango, fruity pebble, churro, glazed, and oreo. My personal favorite was the fruity pebble one, and I don't even particularly care for that cereal. The oreo one was pretty sweet because the glaze tasted like a white chocolate. Churro and glazed were underwhelming flavors. Mango was sweet and tart, and tasted like real mango, yet I didn't like it as a donut flavor. That may just be my personal preference though. The donuts are cute, totally IG worthy, and easy to share. Just keep in mind that depending on the flavor and how it's glazed, some of the glaze will fall off if you rip the donuts apart to share. Without the glaze, its just light, chewy bread. Which isn't all that bad tbh, cause bread lol Keep a pair of scissors handy for a cleaner cut though.

Yelp
It was my first time trying a mochi donut. I was with my friend in Japantown and we came across Mochill. There was already a line formed but it went by fast! Mochi Donuts are $2.50 a piece. I got one of their Matcha Oreo donuts, it was very very chewy. I'm used to eating the mochi with beans inside that you can buy at most Asian super markets, but the mochi donut is much more chewier than that haha. It was alright but made my mouth a bit dry. Try it out for yourself to see if you like it.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I paid a visit to Japantown for a little snack after dinnertime and was craving some mochi donuts! This was towards the end of the day yet surprisingly there was still a lot of people frequenting Japantown. We didn't wait too long in line, and ended up ordering a box of 6 donuts to indulge in: 2 matcha milk, 1 ruby chocolate, 1 black sesame, and 2 strawberry milk. Here are my rankings: 1. MATCHA MILK - this was one was the best because it retained a strong yet not overpowering matcha flavor 2. BLACK SESAME - a classic, quite yummy because the taste is subtle and not super sweet 3. RUBY CHOCOLATE - pretty good for a seasonal/Valentine's Day flavor! It has a richer flavor than regular chocolate 4. STRAWBERRY MILK - creamy and sweet but a little too tart for my taste palette I really like the texture of Mochill's donuts a lot better than other mochi donut places I've had before. The rounder shapes along the donuts emphasize on the chewiness and make it nice to pull apart while eating. I also like how fluffy the donuts are on the inside too! I definitely believe that they're totally worth the price they're sold at just because the quality is so good!

Yelp
Went to Japan town and saw everyone with a box of Mochill in their hand and I have to find out what it is. Went in line and debating if I should buy one to try. Hubby said to get a whole box of all the flavors. I got to say it's so good. The flavors aren't overwhelmingly sweet , the mochi texture is not too chewy. My favorite flavors are sesame and matcha and soybean.

Yelp
Pretty good donuts. They don't feel very heavy, but they taste great! They have a variety, but it isn't the largest variety, but as I mentioned before, they do taste great. The black sesame was the best of the bunch. Japan Town is full of sweets, and this is one of the best spots there.

Yelp
So this Mochi donut shop was in the Japantown plaza and of course, on a weekend, it's crowded. I see it is very popular here and I hear it's always a line but I had to try these Mochi donuts after lunch! It was recommended by my niece. I was looking for the strawberry flavored Mochi donut but I got hazelnut, black sesame and chocolate flavor's instead I am not a matcha or sugar flavor lover but I was able to try the matcha flavor for free though. It was pretty good and not too strong of a flavor. I liked what I got but my most favorite was the black sesame Mochi donut! I really don't know how to describe the flavor but you must try it! The Mochi donut itself was very good! It was fried just right and super moist and a bit chewy inside! I think this was one of the best Mochi donuts in the Bay Area so far and I have tried many. The price is decent but I still think it's still expensive for a smaller donut then the regular raised glazed donuts. I would get more of these donuts here if in the area as it's made fresh for every batch. [8th R]
