Mockingbird - Review - Park Slope - New York - The Infatuation

"This Park Slope spot makes one of their house cocktails in a whipped cream dispenser. The final product is slightly sweet, lavender-colored, and thick as marshmallow fluff—and, like everything else here, it’s entirely non-alcoholic. Perfect for a first date or quick catch-up with a friend, Mockingbird is a casual neighborhood cocktail bar that just happens to be booze-free. There are around 10 little tables where you can sit and pair some charcuterie with a glass of non-alcoholic pinot noir, and there’s also a big bar where you can camp out with a book." - Bryan Kim

This place nails the balance between aesthetic and service, it’s got the perfect atmosphere with a color palette and design that feels straight out of the movie Her. For someone who doesn’t drink regularly, this zero-proof spot is a game-changer. It’s a calling card for deep conversations, with an engaging and welcoming staff that makes the experience even better. The fact that this place has only been open a month says a lot. How you start is how you finish. DON’T CHANGE ANYTHING.

I love this classy non-alcoholic bar in Park Slope! It’s so nice to be able to connect with people sober and feel like I’m at a bar. The partners are so attentive and cool. Had a great conversation with a bartender named Fear. It’s also queer friendly and the drinks are delicious. Great hangout spot to chat and sip with friends or a date. I had a delicious Italian flat bread with Mozzarella and pesto. Was perfectly cooked, and tasty. I highly recommend. Also, since most people are going out to get drunk, it’s more low key. Not as crowded on a Friday, so great to come with a group.

An amazing addition to the neighborhood! Perfect for a cozy NA cocktail on a weeknight and my new favorite weekend coffee spot! They spice up the menu with seasonal options to keep it fresh so there's always something new to try. I have never tasted NA cocktails like this before - these guys are truly changing the game ✅

Mockingbird is exactly what Park Slope needed—a sophisticated and welcoming space that stands apart from your typical bar. The owners are focused on creating an experience, and it shows. I found the atmosphere to be both relaxed and vibrant, making it the perfect place to enjoy a night out without the need for alcohol. The drinks are very innovative, capturing familiar flavors without the downside of overindulgence. For me, the Wild Earth Sour was a standout, balancing complexity and depth reminiscent of a high-end cocktail. And the Vermilion Spritz? A must-try for anyone who loves bubbly drinks like me. While some drinks could benefit from bolder flavors, the creativity behind each one is undeniable, and I can’t wait to see how the menu evolves. The staff is warm and friendly, ensuring that everyone—from those celebrating Dry January to those simply looking for a different kind of night out—feels right at home. I love that the owners are clearly passionate about creating a unique and inclusive environment, and I’m excited to see how they continue to refine the experience.

Very cute spot and concept. I just did dry January and I’m excited to have a NA spot in the neighborhood. I had one drink and got a snack board. Looking forward to coming back and trying other menu items.

Lovely new non-alcoholic bar. I have come a couple times and brought friends. They've recently expanded the drinks menu, added food, and started doing events. Love the complexity and presentation of the mocktails. The day I was there, they had a local singer that was delightful. I can't wait to go back!

Google
Cute place/vibes, mocktails were pretty good, service could use some improvements. We had to wave the waitress down multiple times to get her to see us (not sure if she was on her phone or staring off?), and I would have appreciated a bit more knowledge since I asked her about The NA wine/beer list and she didn’t know anything about the taste profiles. Also - It also took like, 15 minutes to get our drinks despite 2/4 of us got either beers/wines (the place wasn’t that full either) Overall a cute place, would come back, and hope they work out the service part!

Went for brunch and was so impressed with both the ambiance and menu! The blueberry waffles and mimosa were amazing, and service was more of the same. Friendly staff helped with my indecisiveness over cocktail options hahah. Will definitely go back for date nights/friend hangouts, good to have an alternative to the endless plethora of boozy bars!

Yelp
The drink photos on their insta looked exciting and sexy. So we were very excited to try this place. However.....the interior and vibe falls flat. Very flat. Went for Bingo the other evening and it was a full house. But the energy was boring, and the lack of wall decor / ambiance / energy made it feel like a temporary space. I found it a bit depressing and boring often throughout the evening. The bartender was very sweet, but the owner is very introverted, and doesn't make you feel welcome to be there. He may be better in the back of the house. The drag clown they hired was actually a bit of a downer. Maybe sounding depressed is his style, but we found it to be a bit of a downer for what we thought would be an energetic evening. It was promoted by him on the microphone as a safe sober place for the LGBTQ community, which is totally fine, but the Bingo night wasn't advertised as being that from what we read. Just saying. We see nothing wrong with a bar being a non alcoholic bar, but they made it feel like it was focusing on coming there if you are sober. We do drink alcoholic drinks, but we're also fine hanging drinking non alcoholic drinks, but felt it was one sided in a way. But at the end of the day, the bar is lacking energy & decor. Walk into Pasta Louis' bar next door to see exciting decor and energy to get some ideas. Cause right now if feels boring.

Yelp
I agree with a lot of these ratings here. The drinks fell flat and the tea one was extremely sour. Paying $15 for a mocktail is also sort of insane. Also, the vibe inside was very off - it's like a square box with poor design. The layout just didn't flow. The bartender was very nice though but I won't be coming back.

Yelp
Mockingbird is a great addition to Park Slope. The space is inviting, and the drinks are thoughtfully crafted, with flavors that feel both familiar and inventive. It's nice to have a spot that focuses on complex, alcohol-free cocktails without feeling like something is missing.

Yelp
I love the concept but the execution needs some work. Some suggestions to the owners: 1. Figure out ventilation so your windows are not constantly weirdly fogged. When we were there last week weekend it also smelled bad 2. Create more atmosphere by covering up entrance and windows more. it's not cozy and inviting right now with all the glass 3. Add some cocktails with stronger flavors

Yelp
This is such a good and timely concept. But it needs some serious finessing. The lighting is horrible - it just ruins the vibe (meaning, no vibe, unless you like the DMV's fluorescent glow). The drinks needs focussed attention in terms of flavor. They lack complexity and acid or tannin, and general balance. I have no problem paying $15 for a good mocktail, but it takes real creativity and a very good palate to get it right. These are not right.

Yelp
What a way to start dry January. A really cool cocktail bar. The ambiance was great and the staff was super chill. I'm excited to have a night spot where I don't feel the need to drink alcohol.

Yelp
Great concept for us folks that can't drink alcohol but love a specialty cocktail. I suffer from massive migraines and alcohol is a trigger. At my urging friends and I visited Mockingbird! The taste and presentation of the "Dr's Order" cocktail was outstanding. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing for me and my peeps. Definitely coming back. No more boring no alcohol brews for me!

Yelp
awesome new spot, love the vibe for an NA cocktail space. The bubble cocktail is my favorite so far!
