The Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Year in Los Angeles, 2025 | Eater LA

"This Arcadia spot has been around since 1975, where a homey, Americana-steeped menu reigns supreme with meatloaf, beef stroganoff, soups, burgers, and baked honey-glazed hams with mashed potatoes and gravy as the special of the day. (They’ll even customize a casserole tray upon request.) No matter what you eat at Moffett’s, order a chicken pot pie to savor at home later. Simply brush the crust with milk, heat for 30 minutes at 400 degrees, and out comes a saucy, flavor-packed treat from the glory days of childhood. The only question is whether to get the individual-sized option or the full pie — either freezes beautifully. — Mona Holmes, editor, Eater Southern California/Southwest" - Matthew Kang

The Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week: November 10 | Eater LA

"A longtime Arcadia haunt since 1975, this homey, Americana-steeped spot turns out meatloaf, beef stroganoff, soups, burgers, and baked honey-glazed hams with mashed potatoes and gravy as the special of the day, and they’ll even customize a casserole tray on request. I swung by and grabbed two pre-baked pot pies (plus an apple) to go, and no matter what you eat here, the chicken pot pie is the move to savor at home later: brush the crust with milk, bake 30 minutes at 400 degrees, and out comes a saucy, flavorful treat straight from the glory days of childhood. Both the individual-sized and full pies freeze beautifully — I’m heating up the beef pot pie for lunch today." - Eater Staff

A classic and worth a visit or two. As soon as I walked in, it felt like being transported back in time except everyone there were retirement age or older :). Kidding aside, everyone there were “experienced” and they all looked like they’ve been eating here for decades! Being my first time, I decided to try two of their pot pies as a dinner. I have to admit, I liked the beef better than the chicken but both were delish. If you like banquet pot pies like I do, think of this as the adult version and much better. Mashed potatoes potatoes and gravy were just ok as were the veggies, but took me back to school lunches and cafeteria food. Soup was chicken barley which was a first for me, but pretty good and to round out the dinner, the bread pudding which I didn’t get to eat because I was just too full. Service was very pleasant and quick. Price was a little high for the quantity and type of food, but happy to support a brick and mortar business anyway I can. If retirees can afford it for all these years, who am I to judge :)

Everything was wonderful. The food was amazing as it always has been. Hot, flavorful, excellent quality. I've been going here for decades and it's always been great and even with new owners(so I've been told), the wonderful food is the same. The service was also top notch! My coffee cup was always filled, water never ran out, food was prepared and delivered promptly and fresh. The staff was friendly, happy and provided positive energy. The dining room was clean, comfortable, and everything on the table was in order and clean. They also had tons of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options I'll look at for future visits. Highly highly recommended!

I'd come back to try other items. I loved the diner mom n pop vibe. I sat next to the Halloween skeleton, who was a quiet but pleasant seat mate. I wanted to try the German offerings like schnitzel...but since it was my first time, I went with their signature chicken pot pie, which resembles an empanada...the pot pie is a pale full moon with a mild chicken gravy...think Mrs Lovett in the musical Sweeney Todd. I was grateful it wasn't salty, and it was well formed, but I had two separate bites of chicken that had cartilage bits, so one time swallowed, another time spitting it out into a napkin...sorry to be graphic. In other words, eat it carefully if you order the pot pie. It was well stuffed with 🐔. The mashed potatoes were fine as was the corn kernals. The best part of the meal was the bread, super soft and the coffee... and...the Service, the service was the bright spot, very friendly staff. It's a fun adventure. And I like supporting mom n pop places. Would love to try the schnitzel!!

You want some home-style comfort food cooking like what you had as a kid? You want that steamy, gooey chicken pot pie? Go back in time by stepping into Moffett's Restaurant Sure, they have a lot of other goodies on the menu, but it's all about those chicken pot pies here at this retro 1960s era diner. Service was great. No reservations and plenty of parking. If you can't stay, get 'em to go. Just as good!

Google
We ordered the chicken pie and tri trip pie, mini peach and cherry pie to go. The meat was cooked to perfection the gravy over the pie and mashed potatoes so delish it’s great comfort food. The mini loaf of bread that came with our dinner was the most softest freshest tasting bread I’ve had. We will definitely come back.

This was our first visit back to Moffett’s Family Restaurant & Chicken Pie since it was taken over by the longtime main chef, and I’m happy to say everything we love about this place is still here! They’ve even added some new breakfast items and daily specials. Of course, their famous chicken pie is still the star of the show — we got the chicken pot pie with mashed potatoes and it was excellent. Comfort food at its best. Service is warm and friendly, and you can tell the owners really care about their guests. The place was buzzing when we went, and it’s great to see this neighborhood favorite thriving. We’ll definitely be back!

Moffett's Family Restaurant & Chicken Pie Shoppe is a beloved comfort food spot in Arcadia, CA, known for its homestyle chicken pot pies and nostalgic ambiance. It consistently earns high ratings for friendly service and generous portions.

Google
I go here every year on my Birthday. I love the variety of food. You are able to substitute a veggie burger on a patty melt it is delicious. We had a great server named Yvette. The owner decorates for Halloween and Christmas. I was treated like royalty on my Birthday. The owner saw us struggling to take a selfie outside by the Christmas decorations and came out to take the photo for us. Great welcoming family environment. I have been coming here for many years. I moved away from Arcadia and still count this restaurant as my favorite!

Yelp
We've been coming here for years for the pot pie dinners - real comfort food - and the friendly service. We went for dinner last night, it had been awhile since our last visit and was really having a craving. I have to say, it was a little disappointing! The service was as friendly as ever, but the food has gone down a notch in quality. My chicken pot pie hardly had any chicken meat in it and it had a few pieces of something that was very gristly and chewy. The beef pot pie is advertised as being tri-tip, but it is not, it is beef chuck. The dinners used to come with a dessert choice that included a piece of pie. Now, pie is no longer one of the selections. I should have expected this nowadays, but perhaps the biggest (unpleasant) surprise was the cost. One chicken pie dinner, one beef pie dinner and 2 glasses of iced tea came to $65, before tip! A glass of iced tea alone was $6! Sorry to say, not sure we'll be going back anytime soon.

Yelp
We saw Moffetts on Ch5 , Dana was visiting the restaurant to give it a review. We decided to go today for a late lunch. I ordered the chicken pot pie, all white meat, my wife ordered a BLT , a side salad, a glass of Dr pepper and a couple of pieces of pies. The food was 100% comfort food ! The service was phenomenal. This place feels like you're eating at your favorite aunt's house. We're definitely coming back. The back story of this place and his family's history and now ownership of this iconic restaurant, is the true American Dream.

Yelp
Stopped by for the chicken pot pie got the single serving size with white chicken and it was absolutely delicious! Flaky crust, creamy filling, packed with tender chicken. Perfect portion, super satisfying. Easily 5/5 Also grabbed a single-serving apple pie - warm, cinnamon-y, and tasty, though the crust was a touch softer than I prefer. Still very good, 4/5 Great service, friendly staff, cozy spot. Highly recommend will definitely be back! Overall a solid win for comforting, homemade-tasting food.

Yelp
Don't skip on the chicken hot pot pies! They're the item this place is known for, and the taste brings back real nostalgia, just like those classic elementary school turkey and gravy days. One bite and it takes you right back. Customer service is always great, the food comes out quick, and the inside is very clean. But the star of the whole menu for me? The cheeseburger. Honestly one of the best I've ever had. Perfect flavor, perfect portion, totally worth the price. Everything about it hits just right. If you're thinking of trying Moffets, go for it. This place delivers every time.

Yelp
My first time coming to this place which has been around for 50 years and is a local favorite in Arcadia. I have heard about this place on the news and also just from friends' reviews so I've decided to come here for lunch with a friend and check it out. We went during lunchtime and it was a super nice staff member who took our order and our food was given to us quickly. I ordered their infamous chicken pot pie with dark meat and my friend ordered chicken noodle lunch. We shared it so I got to try the chicken noodle as well and I would say these are both very hearty and delicious. It is like an American staple to enjoy a nice chicken pot pie. If you love an old school style spot this is the place for you and the food is delicious!

Yelp
I noticed this place in the strip mall across the street from the gym. Not the best post workout meal but I like a good pot pie. I must admit, I had low expectations walking in, these are difficult dishes to get right. The staff was welcoming and courteous. Fresh baked pies at the entrance on display. Semi crowded, I was able to get a booth. Stools available at the counter. Most definitely a neighborhood spot. I ordered the chicken pot pie combo with potatoes, corn and drink. Very Good for $15. Gravy smothered over the top stuffed with shredded chicken breast inside. Scrumptious.

Yelp
Been meaning to come here for a while, and finally made it out on a Sunday evening. They close early (at 8pm) and we arrived at like, 7:15pm. This place is like, quintessential old school diner for retiree vibes, and I love it. Homey, cozy, friendly. Everything is soft and quiet and comforting. We got a couple of pot pies (of course), and were happily upsold a pint of potato salad that we took home, and some veggies. Don't let the fact that the veggies (at least that day) was corn and carrots -- the corn tasted fresh off the cob, and the carrots were very nicely cooked - not too hard and not too soft. Potato salad is simple and solid. The pies. Ahh the pies. We got the dark meat chicken pies, and it was so juicy and tender. Take note that this is a pot pie for purists. Nothing in it but chicken and flavor. None of the random chunks of who knows what vegetables that you find in other pot pies. Plain, simple, pure. I know I might be in the minority, but I like my comfort foods to be simple in texture and taste. Same with the gravy. No extra chunks, just nice creamy smoothness. The reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 - well, two reasons. One, the gravy was cold, poured over a piping hot pie, and the temperature contrast confused me and made me a bit sad. It would have been amazing to have piping hot gravy over piping hot pie. Two, we ordered a cherry pie for dessert, and the cherry pie had, uh, no cherries, only cherry glaze/jam. LIke, the stuff that's surrounds compote cherries. So that was kind of sad. I would, however, go back in a heartbeat, not only to see if this was an off day or something, but genuinely, I will dream sweet dreams about their pies til next time.

Yelp
In a short sentence. I love heading to this location. It's quaint, set in old restaurant style, and still provides optimal service with today's age. With a recent ownership, changing, the food is equally as good. Far more options on the menu, including breakfast being served all day. The staff are friendly, outgoing, and always look to be attentive to your needs. Definitely a family atmosphere.

Yelp
Old school restaurant that clearly has a devoted clientele that loves the menu. Pro: you will not go hungry! Large portions. Con: it's a menu from the 70's -the old American favorites, served with sides of canned vegetables(?), easy-to-eat food that just may not excite... Would come back to try the Mexican items next time.

Yelp
The best chicken pot pie in the area! I came here to pick up a quick lunch of just a single chicken pot pie, and was in and out within a few minutes. Don't forget to ask for additional gravy since a la carte does not come with it. Portion was good and filling, but you may want to order additional food if you have a larger appetite, or order the meal that comes with sides.

Yelp
What I Ordered: -Chicken Pot Pie $15.45 I've had Moffett's bookmarked for a while now and finally made it in. I love a good Chicken Pot Pie, but it's hard to find a decent one. I thought their Chicken Pot Pie was pretty good. It comes with dark meat, but you can pay extra for white meat. I ordered the lunch special for $15.45, which included mashed potatoes and gravy with some cut green beans. The food was a bit salty, and the green beans tasted canned. The mashed potatoes were okay. I really liked the ambiance; it felt like being in your grandmother's home, a diner that meets a grandmother's dining room. The service was friendly and attentive, even though we only ordered one dish. The waitress checked in on us to make sure everything was okay, which I appreciated. I'd be willing to try other dishes here sometime, but I wouldn't be rushing back.

Yelp
I haven't back since the last few racist encounters, but BF's family kept emphasizing that there's a new owner so things should be different. Ordered some chicken pot pies and beef pot pies to go. I paid and it wasn't until I exited the restaurant that I saw on the receipt that they charge a 3% credit card surcharge fee. Nowhere inside nor from the employee did I see or hear of this fee. No transparency rubs me the wrong way and I won't be back. As for the food, the pies were extremely dry and salty. It actually took some effort to break the hard crust to get to the filling. BF's sister noted her pie had an insane amount of peas compared to the rest of the filing. They're done with this place too.

Yelp
Yum yum yum this was a good pot pie! I make pot pie at home with home made crust but this one is sooooooooooooo much better. It's the tasty gravy that is the star of the show. Interior is clean and service was super friendly. I felt bad because the lady looked overwhelmed so it was slow for everything to come out but I didn't mind. We were there to meet a friend who grew up in the area and swears by this place. Moffetts meets all my expectations. I would gladly come here again. Lots of parking outside and bathrooms were clean.

Yelp
New owners and new menus! Definitely worth a try. Moffets was acquired by the in-house chef that had been in this business for over 30 years or so. I like their new menu- tasty food, reasonably priced and generous portions. The new owner had kept the same name, but should probably reconsider!!! It puzzles me that the new owner did not change the name of this place. Do yourself a favor and give it a different name.. From living in this area for over 20+years, I know quite a few people that complained of the old pie shop as being overpriced or being treated rudely when they frequented this establishment. Also this part of Arcadia really needs a old good coffee shop!! . I believe it will draw in more customers if you rename it. It will reflect the different type of food that your restaurant now serves. It is now a diner. Just call it Arcadia diner or something!!

Yelp
If you're looking for traditional American comfort food, and the ambiance of the 1970's world you grew up in, well there is a slice of Americana in Arcadia. Of course, I ordered the chicken pot pie dinner with an extra pie, for my first try (I shall be back): the four course meal was exactly as I thought, a chicken pot pie dinner should be. Adjusting for 1970s inflation, it's a culinary bargain.
google avatar

Jason L.

Yelp
I mainly came here for their famous pot pies. They did not dissapoint but they were a tad smaller than I was expecting. However, the flavor was on point and the place had a fun local vibe to it. I only got takeout pies but they were very nice and quick. I would recommend trying their pies as they are a local staple.
google avatar

Alexis Y.

Yelp
How badly I wanted to like this place! Its homie atmosphere and comfort food/menu selection sets itself apart from most restaurants in Arcadia. Sadly, during our first visit, we were met with subpar service and really bland food. It's got your classic diner/Grandma's dining room vibe to it which I like. We were given a huge booth for our party of seven which was great. With such a large menu, it was hard to make a selection, can't complain about variety. Anyhow, I went with the country fried chicken and gravy with corn. The meal literally tasted like a slightly more elevated banquet TV dinner. The only thing that was worth really eating was the chili and saltines. The waiters move slow and get frazzled quickly. Needless to say, I won't be back.

Yelp
Moffett's is a small family owned restaurant that looks like your classic American diner. For someone who has lived in the SGV, this is my first time here and I was craving some chicken pot pie. Right off the bat, I was greeted by a really sweet waitress who took my order. I ordered a chicken pot pie and a side of sausage and gravy while my bf ordered a chicken pot pie and a beef pot pie. When my sausage and gravy arrived, I was surprised at how big the portion is. The bread isn't your typical biscuits instead it reminded me of a fluffy pancake texture. It was soft and soaked in with the sausage and gravy. Surprisingly it was really good. The chicken pot pie is soaked in gravy and inside is filled with chicken. It was a warm and comforting meal to have. I did like how the beef pie had veggies in it because the chicken pie was all meat. The restaurant is located in the Aldi plaza with plenty of parking. Service is friendly and great.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a while, and since we were in the neighborhood, I figured, why not? The one thing that did bother me was that we were seated before another party, yet the server took their order and served their food before even coming to take ours. It was a bit frustrating. My husband ordered the Polish sausage breakfast sandwich with fries, and I went with the dark meat chicken pot pie. The sandwich was tasty, though the fries were a little underwhelming- could've used another minute in the fryer. But my favorite part? The ranch dressing. When I saw the server plop that ranch into the serving cup, I knew it was going to be good. It was thick, not that watery stuff you get at some places. I really enjoyed it. Now, about the pot pie, I was a bit surprised to find there weren't any veggies inside. The filling was piping hot. I ended up liking it so much that I took some home for my family to try. I just noticed they offer bread, but it's only available on request, so for all you carb lovers out there, don't forget to ask for it!

Yelp
Raised in Arcadia, seen this place a thousand times, never knew. Read a recent article about this historic place, new owners, etc. Went for lunch, the better half loves pot pies, so why not. Went on a weekday, not to busy, was greeted promptly, sat at a booth. Place was clean and had a old school charm, blast from the past actually, anywhere USA, not little china town that arcadia has become. We both went traditional, she got the lunch, I got just the pie with fries on the side. All white meat, which isn't really necessary now that I think about it. Some darker meat might have helped with the flavor, oh well. The pies were fine, a tad small, but fresh. The fries, steak style, which I love, were, ah, so-so. A couple of drinks. All in all, decent lunch for 50 bucks, hey, its LA right. Anyways, we would possibly go back again if in the area and the timing was right. If you feel like some good homestyle cooking, this place hits the mark. Friendly staff also. Bathroom was clean. They had lots of baked goods and pies to go, if you were wondering. side note: yes, there are still some older folks alive and well in Arcadia, I saw many eating at this place.

Yelp
Moffett's Family Restaurant & Chicken Pie Shoppe in Arcadia has been around for ages, and I don't know many places that still serve chicken pot pie. I hadn't been here in years until a coworker suggested we pick up some pot pies to bake at work, so I decided to pop in. I ended up getting three unbaked white chicken pot pies and one baked dark chicken pot pie for dinner. The pies are all meat with no veggies, and the gravy is rich and creamy. The crust was flaky and buttery, making for a really tasty bite. The unbaked pies were super easy to cook--just 30 minutes at 400°F in a toaster oven, and they came out pretty good. Overall, the pies were tasty, though a bit on the small side (probably best enjoyed with some sides). If you're looking for some classic chicken pot pie, definitely check this spot out!

Yelp
My first time to eat at this restaurant with friends! This is a gem of a restaurant in Arcadia. It is an old fashioned and family restaurant with a nostalgic ambience. Our server Yvette is so friendly and took very good care of us! I will be back here again.

Yelp
Best chicken pot pies on planet. This place is a classic diner atmosphere and fantastic that it's still around.

Yelp
Sundays are for chicken pot pies and boat loads of gravy at Grandma's house and anytime you want to capture that feeling, you head to family owned Moffett's in Arcadia. For 50 years this place has been serving their signature variety of pot pies and in those 50 years the recipe has never changed. Did I mention the gravy? I would bathe in it and that's perfectly normal because it's perfectly seasoned and it's perfect consistency holds til your very last bite. 10/10 gravy baby.
google avatar

Lourella M.

Yelp
When you're craving for a pot pie come here. Point blank. Totally satisfied my significant other and my craving. Both the beef and chicken pot pie is delicious. The apple pie a la mode was delicious too. As for the onion rings, think of like state fair onion rings. Crispy on the outside and soft onion on the inside. Service was great and the server was very nice and helpful. Even if she didn't like pie, she said many people come for the apple pie. Ambiance is an old school diner feel. I will definitely come here again.

Yelp
1st of all I got to say Alex our server is great. When you come here's for him. Food is awesome makes u feel at home. Music is also great. And feels welcoming. Very clean. Definitely come and enjoy the food here. Ask for Alex

Judith H.

Yelp
We have been getting chicken pies here to go for many years. The change in ownership has caused some growing pains but everything seems to have been worked out now. Yes the prices have increased but that's to be expected. Was happy to have read in advance of the 3% transaction fee on credit cards so I went prepared with cash. No fee on debit cards tho. I consider them still the best chicken pies around. Just chicken and gravy, so if you are one who likes vegetables in your pies? You midget be disappointed.
google avatar

Dave F.

Yelp
New ownership and I couldn't be happier. This family does an amazing job. Food is still great but better service ambience got a little cleaner. But overall, you can tell things have changed for the better. Definitely would recommend if you like comfort food.

Yelp
I'm a huge chicken pot pie fan and I've never had a bad chicken pot pie, until now. This restaurant just doesn't satisfy my CPP urges. The pies are small, not meal-sized. They have only meat and gravy inside. The absence of diced carrots and potatoes, sliced mushrooms, peas, and onions make the pies taste unidimensional. The crust is not flaky at all, the gravy is salty and not plentiful, and the meat is a bit dry. The effect was that of something mushy rather than fresh and crisp, as if the pie had been frozen since last winter. The accompanying salad was ruined by the canned green beans that were strewn atop, and the salad dressing tasted like it was from a jar. The mashed potatoes seemed like they were made from powder. The only thing that i thought was pretty good was the mini loaf of bread that came with the dinner. I won't be back anytime soon.

Heather K.

Yelp
Excellent service! We were treated like family members and it was our first visit! Yvette and Alma are great servers - they care about your experience and make it so enjoyable! We plan to be back this coming weekend! This place is family owned since 1975 and although the interior is a super throw-back to that time it's clean and regularly refreshed (seat covers intact); also a large, clean bathroom!

Yelp
I haven't been back to this place since I was a kid. I am glad it survived the pandemic and even more happy that the long time cook was able to take over. A true American dream come true. The pot pies are just as I remembered! The dinner comes with a pot pie of choice (chicken, turkey or tri tip), mashed potatoes and gravy and steamed vegetables, you can request nice warm bread on the side and dessert is included. It's just comforting to enjoy a nice meal. The staff was very nice and attentive. They have pot pies to go along with other items in the front. Located in a shopping center and there's plenty of parking. They have other food items on the menu, but I just wanted to check on the pot pie. I even ordered a pot pie to go. The ambience is just homey goodness feeling and I will go back whenever I back in the area. Please support small businesses. Enjoy.

Yelp
Moffett's is a well known local establishment that is operated by new owners. Got reintroduced to them at Taste of Arcadia. Their Chicken Pot Pie's are tasty, wholesome, and homey. Ordered: 1. All White Meat Chicken Pot Pie $9.80 2. Chicken and Noodles with Gravy $9.10 3. Fries $5.95 I really appreciate the Ala Carte option as the calories can add up with the Mashed Potatoes and Dessert for the Dinner Specials. For the flavor, it was decent. There are no carrots, peas, and potatoes in the pot pie just nice chunks of chicken. For the Chicken and Noodles, I ordered wrong and didn't read. I wanted a chicken noodle soups but it was noodles, chicken, and gravy. Overall, a decent meal with a menu built around their chicken pot pies. I saw individual seasonal pies as well.

Lora W.

Yelp
So glad I live close to Arcadia so that it is easy to return! First time to dine in at this classic family restaurant; had take-out during the pandemic and the chicken pot pie was honey and delicious. Today it was breakfast and could not pass on the chilequiles (almost order this simple but classic dish whenever and wherever it is available)! Got this with the green chile and came with eggs, rice and beans-yummy and took home leftovers to enjoy tomorrow. Can't wait to come back and try other dishes. Oh, lucky enough to enjoy a slice of the "trial" rhubarb, apple, strawberry and blackberry pie !

Yelp
Came here because the boba shop was closed and I had just finished practice, the staff were so patient with me, I really wanted a pie but I couldn't. I might just come here on my birthday the inside looks so cozy and reminds me of a family dining experience it would be so cozy to just sit and enjoy a warm meal.

Yelp
I was lucky enough to be brought here with a friend. And now I will be regularly coming back. I never knew how much I loved chicken pot pies till I had one of theirs. It is absolutely delicious. I come in for the lunch special, which includes mashed potatoes with gravy and peas. I usually substitute the peas for mashed potatoes because well just because. lol the mashed potatoes are really good, although I usually tell them easy gravy, not because it's not good, but because I'm not a big gravy person. I will say their gravy is delicious and for not being a gravy person I do enjoy their gravy. The restaurant is very reminiscent of an old-school diner. The servers are always very nice and gives you that homely feel. I unfortunately haven't tried any other other dishes, but just for their chicken pot pies it is worth it. One of these days I will try their other offerings, but just know that the chicken pot pie is in itself worth it to make a visit out here.

Yelp
I've been eating at Moffetts for years. It's ok, but I feel like I'm supporting a local small business. I do have to say, the prices are getting out of hand. Myself and a buddy went today and besides the food being a bit pricey for what it is, the iced teas were $6 each! I feel like that's price gouging. Probably won't be going back any time soon....

Yelp
We went for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant is small and when we arrived it was full with a wait to be seated ( 10-15 min) Originally I was all in for a pot pie but decided on the stroganoff when I noticed that it was a lunch special. My mother chose the chili size burger . Service was reasonably quick given the crowd. Portions at lunch were good. The food was delicious. Glad I did the stroganoff and hope to see it on the menu. The restaurant is a time capsule . That have a to go counter with deli salads , pot pie you can take and bake at home and more. The restaurant is a in line shop in a strip shopping center, as such the only windows are at the entrance. There is counter seating as well as booths. We ended our meal with the cherry pie . So if you like the family Coffee shops of the 60's & 70's you will love it here. If you are not sure the food will make you happy. BTW I don't think I have ever watch a crew put so much time and effort in to assuring the tables and booths were spotless between guests.

Yelp
My family and I went to Moffett's for the first time to grab some breakfast this morning. The food was great, but what stood out the most was their service. Yvette was our server and she was absolutely awesome!!! Our family goes out a ton and I can't remember the last time we had such amazing service. The pot pies were delicious and I think they might have the best tots I've ever had(thank you Yvette for the recommendation). Thank you Yvette for all that you do!! We'll be calling ahead next time to see if you're working so we can sit with you again!!!

Yelp
I'm very glad to have ran into this place which has been there for years. This is my new go to for breakfast, lunch or dinner. No doubt, their chicken pot pie is delicious and on the top of my list when craving that comfort food/meal. The pie crust, gravy and the chunks of chicken with the mashed potatoes and veggies are the perfect combination. Audrey our server was very pleasant with a warm, welcoming smile. She's very knowledgeable about the menu and is good giving honest recommendations. It's a hidden jem for sure, with the classic mid 70's diner style. Don't forget to order a slice of pie on top of that, the pumpkin pie definitely hit the spot.

Yelp
Friday, March 14, 2025 was a very busy day for Moffett's Family Restaurant especially since it was Pi Day but even though we had to wait a bit to get our table the food was wonderful and the staff really kept up with the crowds. We had the Chicken Pot Pie, the Tri-Tip Pot Pie and. Slice of Rhubarb Pie A La Mode. Delicious! We'll be back.

Yelp
It was my first time here. The chicken l Pot pie was delicious. Nice and creamy inside and great pie crust. The servers were all very nice and attentive. It's a jive quaint little family/neighborhood spot. I didn't realize that they closed at 2pm on Sundays. I just made it in and everyone was great.

Yelp
7/15/25 I purchased a pot pie (turkey) for my mother who is currently hospitalized. Upon entering the young asian fellow was the most courteous and kind compared to the girl at the cashier podium and the gentleman from the back. Something juuuuust wasnt right. I assumed the diner itself had become dated and maybe takes some getting used to. The pot pie was not edible. My mom said it was so salty that she couldnt tolerate it. I called last night and left a message asking for an exchange. Today around 230 I called and asked if my voicemail was received and if I can exchange the pie. I was reminded there is a notice stating no exchanges blahblah. Well. It isnt a petty issue, the pie is oversalted. The girl proceeded to say, it shouldnt be salty they just sprinkle seasoning. ..... why are you not validating the experience of the customer? The fruit pies were fine. The POT PIE was not. I spent a nice amount in this place. All I want is to take my mom a new chicken or turkey pie that she can enjoy. I even explained I have the pie, it was barely touched, I can bring it to show them. "Im sorry ma'am" and referred back to signage. Keep your crummy pies. Last time I am buying here. Disappointed.

Yelp
I ordered chicken pot pie meal. I had a choice of soup or green salad. The chicken pot pie, mashed potatoes gravy and over cooked vegetables. The chicken pot pie is small. It is all meat and gravy, no veggies in the pie. It was ok in flavor. The waitress was a very young lady she gave me the impression that she did not have a lot of experience at this job. She took our order and brought us food but didn't come back to see if we needed anything. She finally returned to refill our ice tea. She never came back to our table to ask if we wanted dessert or any thing else. We got tired of waiting for her so we got up and went to the register to pay our bill. No we won't be back .

Yelp
Local diner that we were curious to try. It was busy so we sat at the bar. The people working there were decent enough. The place is vintage in a cute way. My boyfriend got the tri tip pot pie dinner and I got the chicken pot pie dinner. Both were very good! Classic flavors but not much to it. The desserts that come with the meal were ice cream or terrible bread pudding. They didn't have any fruit pies at the time. Thing is it's very meh all around. Not bad, but not memorable.

Yelp
Absolutely great service! They are all so nice and lively. It's a great place to chill, especially for elder people. Food looks great, ordered just a diet coke though. I will definitely come here for my birthday!
